I really loved this place, the property is beautiful & has a lot of potential. The courtyard rooms overlooking the pool area make a lovely spot for a weekend getaway and the pool itself is very nice. The staff were friendly, quick & attentive. However, the building is in desperate need of repair and housekeeping was sub-par. There was dust on the bathroom shelf so thick I could write my name in it, the towels were stained, and when we requested extra towels from the front desk we were given one that hadn't even been washed (it was crusty). And when we woke up in the morning there was a dead roach on the floor that wasn't there the night before. I assume that meant they had recently sprayed for bugs & wasn't too bothered by it. Other than the housekeeping issues the rooms were nice, with comfortable mattresses & very nice pillows as well as a good size mini-fridge. Basic maintenance could use improvement, the toilet ran & the switchplates were cracked. All in all we had a nice stay & we do plan on staying again with the hope that the housekeeping & maintenance have improved!

At the beginning of our stay, we loved this place. By the time we checked out, we were disgruntled customers. Nice rooms, great pool, beautiful grounds. On the opposite side of the hotel is where some people live and you can tell how my management cares about these people by the difference in the atmosphere. Horrible. Laundry room was a wreck, I had to clean it and sweep away dead bugs before I could even go in. The staff has 2 people that are quick, efficient, and very nice. (One guy is new so he doesn't get included in the rest. ) The rest of the staff from the bitchy front desk girl to the Front End Manager (who ever hired him needs to be fired) to the General Manager. All rude and disrespectful "people" who have no business in the Hospitality industry. My understanding is that the hotel is in foreclosure and after have several rude encounters with the above mentioned staff members, I can understand why business isn't so good.

Got an amazing rate using hotel tonight and had a great experience. The rooms were a good size and beds were very comfortable. The free breakfast was convenient and the pool was a bonus too!

I lived in Rio Rancho from 1973 until 1982 and at that time this hotel was known as the Panorama Inn. It was one of the best hotels in the Albuquerque area. The front desk area has undergone a MAJOR renovation. Unfortunately that's the only thing that has received ANY maintenance. The rooms while clean weren't maintained. There were 2 places on the wall where the wall paper had been damaged and all they did was slap a square of the same wall paper up and both patches were peeling. The light above the coffeemaker either didn't work or there was no way to turn it on. The showerhead was a multi function design, unfortunately it was stuck on the rain water setting and I couldn't change it at all. The stairs were built in the 1960's when the rest of the hotel was built and the steel frame is rusting away. The 1"×1" square tubing that acts as a stiffener across the concrete stringers were all rusted and cut out leaving a 1/2" stub on both sides of the stringer. Over all I was very disappointed with what a once high end hotel has become due to piss poor management.

Yikes! Not sure what I was thinking staying here. Worried about my car outside and feels like I am at the Jeepers Creepers motel! Just needed a place for the night and everything else in the area was booked. Not sure I’ll do that again. Sheets look like they have been here for years you can actually see thru them. There is a phone on the night stand but has no cord. Counting the hours to check out!

Worst hotel stay ever. The first room we got smelled badly like cigarettes so they switched us rooms. The second night we didn’t get much sleep mainly because the people across our room were outside drinking, being super loud, and playing music. We complained to the front desk and told us they had been out there twice already and couldn’t do anything, also they were part of the family having the event that Saturday night. But they were across from our room just getting louder and louder. We checked out a day early and complained again to the front desk she said they have every right to be out there since they are part of the event. Yes I agree but not throwing a party outside and across our room. So people do not waste your time trying to book this.

Shows signs of continued renovation but there needs to be a bogger push to modernize some aspects. Doors open outwards, wierd. Parking lot is dark dark, need lights for safety and security. Room was clean and served the purpose.

Excellent location with bus stop. Economic price 70 USD per night in single room. Includes a small breakfast. A little bit deteriorated the hotel but spacious and has pool.

The room was fabulous. The property is a little tired but having a pool is awesome! The free breakfast was weak.

Housekeeping never came to clean room. Air conditioner did not work and maintenance not on site. Staff not friendly One of worst places I've stayed.

Nice Staff but, the water was not very hot in the morning, in fact the water was cold. And they only gave my family of four, two towels. However one of the towels, was stained and had not one, but Three holes in it. So we were down to one towel. We ordered another one from room service but they don’t come until 8 in the morning and me and my son had to wake up at 5:50.

Toro Burger is literally one of the best burgers I've had in my life. And I've had some good ones. Go and enjoy! The staff and atmosphere are also equally great.

This Hotel doesn't charge until the next day of billing, completely unaware my bank account has gone negative, This is incredibly unprofessional and due to their negligible to warn of such a billing effort I am now dealing with the fact that I either have to pay my bills or go hungry. Forget this hotel and their shady business tactics this is unacceptable and ludicrous.

The only place in Rio Rancho for a medium to large size event. Samantha is amazing at seeing your vision and making it happen. Walt kept everything on track and running flawlessly.

Very Clean rooms with a very comfy bed. Bit of an outdated TV but other than that excellent.

The front desk staff was friendly, but not really helpful. The rooms were so horribly hot that we couldn't sleep, and we were informed that the air conditioning had been turned off for the season. We were advised to keep out doors and windows closed because of the crime rate which left us without any airflow in the room. The staff seemed to find great amusement with how uncomfortable we were. The rooms smell, and the entire place is run down. I will never return and suggest you find other accommodations.

The lobby is pretty inspiring and grand. The front lobby doesn't look like there's a concierge but that's okay we walked up to the front desk very quick trip check out and got us in a room and all the information we needed. When we went to the rooms some the lights were out we found out that there was a power outage due to some of the circuitry. Seemed a little spooky a first I got to her room everything seemed in order little bit old and looks like this place was probably pretty awesome in its heyday. But extra points for all the movie channels in the room small TV maybe 50 inch. The water was very hot everything seemed clean we even use the pull-out couch gets the fine on it so far really enjoyable trip there's a lot of big conference rooms that a lot of people seem to book. The bartender was a little bit rude but he did get everything right in the order as well as was very attentive so that was good in the end. The free Wi-Fi was pretty slow but it was free and I guess you get what you pay for. The layout of the hotel seems very secure in fact I probably want to stay there during a zombie apocalypse. There was a Nova elevator there which sucked because we have two kids and had to haul everything up to the second floor.

Receptionist was friendly, but direct, which was nice. The room was tidy and suited my needs and it seemed they offered more at breakfast than they did last year. It's a good place to go when you're tired.

Outside wasn't very appealing, but was quite nice once we were inside. Restrooms could use updating but the rest of what we viewed (lobby and large social area) were quite nice.

Tthe room was very clean with comfortable beds and a nice fireplace with a jeted tub. However there is no discloser on there website about pets. Once we got there they wanted to charge 25 a dog per night. With two small dogs for three days we had to leave them in our truck at night. The attwndent argued with us about the website explains the policies.

This place is a decent value. The room had a fireplace which was excellent because it was a chilly night and good for a little light when you are not that fond of total darkness. The bath tub was amazing it had jets that were pretty strong, made me feel so much better after a hard day. They also had breakfast which was small but good enough for me. The bed sucked I was freezing all night because they give you two sheets and a tiny blanket to keep warm. Turning on the heater made the room a little to hot no matter what you had the temperature at. The TV was an old school box TV with just local channels.

This place is cute. I decided to take my daughter on a trip for her birthday. This place is amazing they couldn't do my request but the went up and beyond what I had requested. They bought her some stuffed animals and to top it off also gave her a card from them. Even though it was only one night stay we felt very welcome and at home with how the staff treated all 3 of us thank you all.

Had to change rooms 3 times because they left the bathtub uncleaned with hair and ashes in the tub and smelled like I room full of ashtrays. There where cigarette burns in two of the non smoking rooms. Fire detector fell off the ceiling and was already disassembled. When your walking to your room you can see they don't ever clean the windows they're all covered in dust. My gf accidentally set the wrong time for our alarm and they came to the room and told my gf that she needed to be out in 5 mins or she was gonna call the cops after my gf told them sorry 6 times and that we would be out of there right away just had to get our stuff. I will be letting all of my friends and family know to stay away.

Would give 0 stars if it would've let me, Manager was horrible rude and never apologized for anything that happened. First got there waited for 30 min to check in lady didn't know what she was doing. Ran my card so many times bank shut it off. Booked for 3 days had to return every day because keys were turned off and couldn't get in the room. 2nd night there I leave at 3:30am to find some guy stealing stuff out of my car so I pressed the car alarm to startle him then he proceeds to tell me he's broke and homeless. And argues with me for 10 min. Hotel was not helpful at all and made my experience horrible there. So I booked a hotel down the street. While I was leaving a older lady had the same problems with them and manager asked her to leave.

Great location and best deal around. Service was helpful and responsive to our needs. 5 stars if facilities were updated.

Only go here foe the Toro Burger Bar. James, the manager and host, is the best, super friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. The cook is awesome as well, skilled at it and always prepares high quality foods. Good drinks, great food and decent prices.

This motel treated me terribly. After paying for 2 nights and being unable to check in the first night due to flight issues, they denied me access to my until 3pm the next day, stating they had rented the room to someone else the first night. The motel was empty, except for their shady full-time residents. This inconvenience caused me to have to roam the streets of Rio Rancho, in the heat, awaiting a medical procedure I had scheduled later that day. I will never stay there again. Minus — 5 stars. If you enjoy being treated poorly and a police presence at your motel, this is the place for you. Too bad it's not still the Howard Johnson's…

This is, by far, the WORST hotel I've ever stayed at. I'd say you get what you pay for, but you don't even get that. The rooms weren't even cleaned. I found a cigarette butt behind the toilet, you can see the concrete through holes and cracks in the bathroom, and their stairs are SO BAD that they are literally falling off due to rust. Can someone say tetanus? There are dead bugs EVERYWHERE! They were inside our room and littered throughout the outside. The carpet was so gross, we didn't take off our shoes. We got it by something while we slept. We found pills and a dead centipede in our room. The bathroom smelled like an ashtray and bad cologne. The fire alarm next door kept beeping and beeping, with no one at their front desk or maintenance would answer when calling about it and their Wi-Fi is a joke. IF you manage to actually connect, don't plan on actually using it. It's WAY too slow. No work done for me. And they wouldn't even discount the room without waiting 3 1/2 hours for the condescending manager to show up. I need a room a couple times a month, but you couldn't pay me to stay here again! Disgusting. Hopefully the Fire Marshall will fine them and they learn to keep up their property. He will be visiting very soon after seeing pictures of different things around the property. That's justice enough for me.

Very dated! Only received 1 washcloth each time in room that had 3 people. Had go ask for more everyday. Door won't shut in first room and other door gabbed everywhere letting light and bugs in. We had two rooms joining both dated. Cold showers every morning. Extremely hard beds and pillows. Only plus was it was clean. They did up grade us to new rooms which was nice. But still similar problems. Staff at front desk was nice so that's was also a plus.

Great location. Awesome layout & features. Mediocre aesthetics. We love staying here as we are in Albuquerque/Rio Rancho several times per month. The pool is terrific and warm even in early summer. Courtyard is nice with trees that provide great shade, cool grass and many birds including a breeding pair of hawks and ultra cute tame rabbits and lizards. Good food at the Toro Burger Bar. Friendly STAFF all around. Exceptionally ANIMAL FRIENDLY:) If it weren't for the things below, this place would get a 5+ stars! They have tried to renovate, but the process is slow, so the majority of buildings/rooms, pool and hot tub and grounds are quite neglected. The renovated rooms and conference areas are pretty nice. The non renovated rooms are NOT sparkling clean. There are cockroaches, rotten wood, plugged up drains with trash and human debris, soap scummy tubs, ridiculously saggy beds (feels like a hammock). Keyed doors can be difficult to use. Vending machines empty or do not accept money. Hot tub NOT working and the staff says that it may not be repaired. The brown pool deck is EXTREMELY HOT and will burn your feet. Pool water line tiles are GREASY (need to be scrubbed), but water is clean and treated well. The GROUNDS are trashy. There are cigarette butts and refuse throughout the property and parking lots. The landscaping is in dire need of an upgrade as many of the trees are dead, dying and sickly. The plants are struggling or overgrown.

This place is a dumb… dirt filled rooms… drywall falling of the ceiling… drywall tap hanging down… one of the 2 beds were broken in the room we were in… if you were to lay on it you rolled to the middle and made a bad noise… the pool was cold even in the summer… hot tub was not working… cigarette butts all over the ground… if I could give this hotel a negative rating I would… we stayed here on 6/18/16

Recently stayed here and I'm very unimpressed. We were assigned a room at the back of the property (which is not a problem) where they have security gates that are accessed with your room card. Well, not my cards… They didn't activate the gate. I took the (long) journey back to the front desk where the employee reactivated the cards. Joke's on me, they still didn't activate the security gate. I wanted to see if they worked on the room at least, so I sent a brave 8 year old over the fence to let us in. The room keys worked on the actual room door. I immediately noticed cigarette butts all over the ground outside, and weather stripping on the window was coming off. I checked the window and it wasn't locked. The room had an OLD tube T. V. (my grandmother owned this same one in the early 90s), two queen beds, a desk, and a chair in the corner. The chair and bed linens had stains on them, the beds were terribly uncomfortable. My wife was surprised three different times with spiders in the bathtub. Photos online are NOT representative of actual conditions. I uploaded some more realistic ones. The pool was closed pending a mandatory state inspection. On a positive note: our car wasn't broken into, and nobody tried to murder us.

It's a little pricy for how old it is, but it is very nice and the hotel staff is very attentive to their guests and they're needs. Good stay, will stay again. Probably soon too.

I had a great educational experience with this school. Teachers really care about the students. I highly encourage and recommend this school.

The rooms were outdated. We had a tube TV. Also, some of the light switches didn't work. The worse part was the bathroom. Upon entering, I noticed that some of the towels were folded poorly and looked dirty. The worse part was the poor drainage in the shower and the tub that looked like it should have been replaced years ago. I felt like I had to go home asap and bathe with bleach just to disinfect myself. That's how unkept and dirty this hotel was. Maintenance is severely needed at this establishment. Take your money elsewhere and get a good nights rest.

I stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip and my boss chose the hotel. I got in very late, checkin was fine. When I got to my room, the door was extremely stuck, I had to kick it and slam my body against it to get it to open. After a lot of sweating, cursing and slamming (which I was sorry for because it was late and people were probably trying to sleep) I got the door open. The room was clean and although the building is old they've made it look as nice as possible. I got in bed right away since it was late and I had work to do in the morning. I usually have a little trouble sleeping in a new area, so I was tossing and turning for a while. I felt something touch my foot, but looked under the covers and there wasn't anything there. It still freaked me out — I'm a bit of an arachnophobe and also knew that there are scorpions in New Mexico. I eventually fell asleep, only to wake to a spider about 4 inches from my face. I immediately threw it off the bed, don't know where it went but it must have survived to haunt a bed another day. In the morning I had the continental breakfast. I am vegan so I had the potatoes and the oatmeal. There was fruit available but it looked like it had been sitting out for a long time so I didn't have any. The potatoes were REALLY good, definitely the highlight of my stay. My coworkers had the eggs, sausage, and biscuits with gravy and said they were all either terrible or mediocre and we all agreed, the potatoes are where it's at.

This hotel is a joke, only staying here because we drove 10 hours with an 8 month old and already got everything out of the car and into our room, dingy, electrical wiring showing in the rooms, tvs are completely outdated, we asked for a king size bed and got two queens as if that's the same thing and front desk is rude and acts like her job is much more important than it actually is these rooms are $70 a night, for that we could have stayed at super 8 which is a much better choice I suggest calling their corporate number because front desk doesn't answer the phone.

Really liked my stay. The room was very quaint and had a comfy, welcoming vibe. I do have to admit that the room does need an update. It still had a standard tv. Breakfast was really good. Very clean set up. The only complaint I have was the staff. They were rude to me and my husband. Didn't have to deal with them after we checked in. I did get a great deal and was worth what we paid ($36).

We hosted our wedding here and it was an amazing experience. Prices across the board were very reasonable, the guest had an great time. The staff was completely professional and extremely accommodating. We could not have asked for more from this staff. The rooms were in good condition and where clean. We could not speak better of HOJO Rio Rancho.

Had a great time at the NMAG annual Institute, learned a lot! Easy to get around, enough room, good facility, great people.

The first hour there, I showered and was left standing in 3" of water. The maintenance man came and removed hair and other debris from the drain about the size of a tennis ball. The security gates did not close properly. Asked for directions to a well known local attraction, and the female desk attendant gave me wrong directions. The next night, I met with 4 other people in the lounge, and the only employee, a female named Patty, was surly, did not know her job, (described Jaimesons Irish whiskey as one of her Scotch choices) and inattentive to the customer's needs. Even when holding the bottle in her hand, could not read the name off the label. It seems like all the female employees I encountered there really didn't want to be there. The males… upbeat, and helpful. I called twice, asking to speak to the GM, a Mr. Brittenham, in order to make sure that he was aware of his employees actions. He was too busy to return a call, over a 2 day period, but instead, had one of the female employees "take a message". Typical of the whole poor management system in place. Avoid this place!

Very unhappy with the management, they did not provide good customer service, told us there were no vacancies when we needed to switch a room. There were vacancies our entire stay as the parking lot was half empty the entire week. Here is a kicker, they wouldn't give us a roll away for our 5 year old to sleep on due to fire regulations, rather they told us he should sleep on the floor. Nice hey? We have stayed there many times before it was a HoJo and the owners/managers were VERY friendly, accommodating and helpful. Now not so much… Hotel is old, a bit run down, but has character. Housekeeping staff and maintenance staff was good. If it wasnt for the underling staff and easy access to the room from our vehicle, I would give it 0-1 star.

The only thing I like Is the breakfast and swimming pool. The housekeeping though isn't so good. The house keeping isnt just not good its actually horrible. They leave you dirty towels and there supposed to be clean? And the maintance and upkeep of the hotel Is pretty bad. Our hotel room, the mirrors falling apart, the light bulbs hanging off and the closet door keeps coming off the hinges. Also when we arrived there was pee around the toilet seat and hair in the bath tub. The house keeping I belive needs to clean house and get some decent workers that believe in sanitation.

First and foremost I have waited 3 days to give my rating because I was that unsatisfied and unhappy! August 15, 2015 a day to remember for the rest of my life it was our wedding day! We planned our wedding here at this hotel with Tanya (who at the time of payment was very kind and understanding) when it came to the wedding day she made me feel very rushed and very stressed she didn't have her ducks in a row what so ever! She's very disrespectful and very rude along beside her were the servers and staff who were also VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND BEYOND RUDE! Slamming ice tea and pictures of water rolling there eyes at my guest and very unprofessional! I wish I woulda planned my wedding somewhere else and sold out a hotel w my family else where I regret having it here and wish I can get back every penny and go somewhere I'll remember how happy I was! But the best part is I still married my bestfriend and we will live happily ever after all tho this hotel messed up our special day it was just another sale to them! I give them only credit w the decorations it was very nice!

My wife and I just spent 4 nights at this hotel located at 1465 Rio Rancho Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Our reservation was from 2-12-15 through 2-15-15. We checked out on 2-16-15. ROOM QUALITY: On a scale of 1 — 10 our room was a 3 at the most. The bathroom had room for 1 person and the light/fan in the shower room was an electrical hazard as it had no cover allowing moisture and hand/fingers to be shocked: WATER TEMPERATURE: Very tepid for showers and no place to wash your hair in warm to hot water. We were told to wait an hour as there was a massive group of high school kids and when situations arise like this there is just nothing they can do. "It is just too bad". There were 2 days when we could not take a warm shower. We were told the hotel would move us to another unit in the AM so we could shower. The water temp was COLD again. We were allowed to stay in the unit for that night. The next morning the shower temp was HOT. CHECK OUT: Upon our request, the manager made a minor adjustment in our bill. There was no "We are sorry" or a contact personally from a manager, etc. We will never stay there again.

This is a AWFUL place what you get is nothing like the photos on the website. The site is run-down, the restaurant is closed, the room are dirty, the bed sheeting is filthy and outdated. There was no weather-stripping on either door to the room which left a gap between the door and the frame so it would be easy to get access to the room and therefore not a secure place at all. After checking-in and seeing the dilapidated condition of this property we checked out and had to make other arrangements quickly costing more. This entire plant should be closed for remolding and NO ONE should stay there until after it is updated and remodeled or closed for good. Awful experience and after driving for 7 hours not at all what you want to face upon arrival.

We got the kitchenette unit. It sucked.
