Unfriendly Host. Nasty Room. No deal I’d rather sleep in my Truck 🛻.

The reason I gave 3 stars was because the front desk ladies had great customer service and the pool was beautiful. Besides that the hotel needs a serious make over in the rooms. The chair was broken and the tub was full of water while showering from a slow drain. The beds were small but comfy and the price was reasonable. They charge for breakfast now just a heads up. Overall its decent.

Very comfortable and relaxing place although it is near the highway. I guess they building is sound proof. Located away from Wilmington, but easily accessible by car. Water pressure was really good in the shower. I will definetely give this place a second try next time I'm in the area.

Traveler beware! I live in Michigan. We traveled for my grandfathers funeral. I’ve stayed at other clarions in Michigan for baseball and the service and staff were amazing. Nothing but 5 stars from me. I however cannot say the same for the new castle Delaware location. I reserved the room online and had no issues. We come in and check in to be given keys to a room that was not cleaned prior, so we go back downstairs (mind you my husband and I had our 4 and 5 year old) and we let the clerk know. So she gave us a different room. We find our room and walk in to a horrible musty smell, no biggie, we turn the air on thinking it’s just hot. The next morning is the morning of the funeral, we get the kids up early and dressed. We head downstairs to grab a quick bite to eat. Only to be told it’s $7.95 per person! Thank you clerk for telling us that (not) because online it said free breakfast. I’m sorry. But I will not pay $7.95 for each of my kids to have a bowl of cereal. Your insane! The rooms need to be updated. The staff need to be friendly (we didn’t get any smiles after saying good morning, good evening, hellos. We got nothing. Also being out of state. We asked a few staff members of things to see and I think one out of four didn’t even understand us. As we checked out. The clerk never asked how our stay was, she mentioned that we had already paid and somehow she charged us another $70.

This hotel is in our address book as a reliable stop for a safe, comfortable, reasonable hotel for road trips from New England to down south with my 2 teenage boys. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Prices are reasonable. Amenities are good, including breakfast. On this trip, the book in our room said breakfast ended at 10. We were there at 9:30 and were told it had closed at 9. I went to the front desk, book in hand, ready to argue my case for a partial credit. No need. The gentleman at the front desk offered to have the chef make breakfast for us, which we gladly accepted. He handled a cranky situation with grace and kindness. I recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly if you are a family traveling with kids.

To me, it's a place to stay that's a bit cleaner than the area it's in. The shower in the room didn't drain fast, but that didn't bother me. I'm just here to sleep, I work the rest of the time. There's a grill in the hotel that seems nice. Haven't tried it, but drink prices seem alright for a hotel.

I was my grandmothers attendant during a renovation of her senior apartment. Any of the things I truly disliked were my own fault more than the staff or the buildings problem. The staff is amazing and kind, the building in pretty good shape. Positives: The staff. From the sweet female manager who dressed and carried herself impeccably to the overnight manager who spent hours talking to an elderly resident named Max whose fears of being in a new place kept her up to the continental breakfast cook and the female bartenders, I absolutely fell in love w the staff. Any negative interactions were my fault for not coordinating with the right people from the retirement home. Big Complaint: Gramma is 83, has crappy vision, and in a wheelchair. Day one they didn’t offer her an accessible room even though the two I saw had people much more mobile as guests and when I brought it up that if not for me we’d have had two falls already (if she’d been able to get through the doors not ADA wide, they asked her once she’s away from me if she wanted to move and I sort of feel they hoped she’d decline which she did even though she truly needed it. I wish they’d just told her “we have a better room and we’re moving you” vs give the option. It meant at least 4 times trying to transfer from chair to toilet where she almost fell incl one that caused me to pull something in my back that still hurts days later. My pain isn’t a big deal, I’ll be fine in soon.

Upon walking in I was greeted with a very nice gentleman. Right when I went up to the desk the phone rang and he took the phone call precendence over an actual person checking in… IN PERSON. About 7 minutes of waiting he gets off and helps me… keep in mind we were driving for a good amount of time traveling and it was 10:30 at night. When we went into our room it smelt… really really bad. It was hot and stuffy… with a smell of pets and body odor permanently residing in the room. We pulled back the blankets and sheets and see a permanent stain on the white linen. (Pictured below). This made you feel like you were covered in bugs and that you need to shower just by being here. Luckily we had 2 beds in the room so we just slept in the other bed… despite being very dissatisfied and grossed out. It is worth noting that a group of other individuals were using the floor mat to wedge between the outside door open… most likely to let people that did not have a card, gain access to the building. Lots of doors slamming, people smoking and drinking outside their room, being loud all hours of the night and really being inconsiderate. With some of the questionable things I've seen at the hotel I decided to look up worst places in DE. This place was like within the top 5… perhaps I did not do my research properly but that is definitely something you should need to know if just passing through the area traveling for a night. Do not be fooled by the lobby entrance photos.

We had to wait to check in only 15min. They were super busy. Being Memorial Day weakens. We has Reservation the Restaurant is right in the hotel which makes it nice. You done needs to drive around looking. For a place to eat. They also have Breakfast there also.

Great customer service, ; very clean venue. Attended a functions in the banquet halls. The bartenders (Ronny and Melissa) were friendly, fast and skillful. The shuttle driver James was a gentleman. The manager Mr. Evans was very thoughtful and courteous. The concierge Mr. Bobby was very professional and very helpful as well. I look forward to booking a stay there real soon.

It was mostly ok. Breakfast was good and the room was mostly clean. One of the glasses was filthy. The fridge made a lot of noise so I had to unplug it before I could get some sleep. I requested a crib when I reserved. My daughter was asleep when we arrived and I hoped to do a sleep transfer. I called to make sure it was in the room. They were super weird and didn't even ask my name or reservation number but told me to just come and it's probably there. When I checked in, I was told I should just go look. There was a pack and play left for me to set up. Just wonderful after driving 7 hours. It was a strong 3 star for me. Just fine.

The room was clean and the service/staff was great. Front desk was friendly and accommodating. The bed was not very comfortable, however I find that to be common and not particular to this hotel. Easy access from numerous major roadways.

Very friendly and comfortable bed. Restaurant/Bar attached has a very friendly staff working at night. Everything was very clean and plenty of space. I enjoyed my stay here and will be returning back if in the area again.

Best value in the area hands down. The staff is highly professional and will make you feel at home. The Augusta room restaurant is great and reasonably priced. The breakfast in the morning is very good and there is plenty of different options. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The overall value is excellent. I recommend this place to stay.

The rooms were nice. The hotel itself was nice. They offered free breakfast. Can't speak on that because I didn't have time for breakfast. Everything was good except for one thing. They ran my card before I checked out when I told the front desk upon checking in that may change cards or even pay cash when I check out. I was very annoyed. Never had that happen to me before.

Large clean rooms with helpful staff. Came here to stay for a wedding. Had to pay an extra 40 bucks per room to stay until 2pm which was fine with me. Will definitely stay here again if I need to visit Delaware again.

Book this hotel weekly for our Mechanics in the New Castle County area. I have not had 1 complaint from the guys. As far as front desk/hotel management, you couldn't ask for more. They are very professional and well organized!

Extremely convenient location right off of 95. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bobby and Rufus at the front desk are great gentlemen to work with and always greet their guests with a smile. Definitely recommend the Belle!

We would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was great with real eggs. Staff was wonderful.

Awesome place. We stay her for Drill (Reserves) there's a bar and restaurant so you don't have to worry about drinking and driving. Some of the rooms do smell like smoke as my colleagues have said and that's the reason for 4 stars. But if you're at the bar and the bartender's name is Ronnie, tell her Will sent ya. She is amazing!

The hotel was beautiful! We didn't even know it was there, to be honest. We got a very comfortable room with 2 beds. I thought it was 2 queens but they were fulls. It's my fault for not reading but we were still comfortable. The breakfast lasted until 10 which is super late. It was great! I'll definitely be staying here again!

Room was nice. A little outdated but still nice. Went to the restaurant for some dessert type stuff all they had was ice cream. Someone else was smoking in a room in a non smoking hotel but thankfully it didn't get into our room. Breakfast was good.

Don't do it! Seriously don't! place is nasty AF! First off we go through a side door to go up to our floor and there was a big balled up thing of toilet tissue or napkins and when we left the next morning it was still there! Anyways we Checked into our room around 2:30am pull the covers back and there's a long hair in the bed so we just thought ok no biggie we will call them they put us in the room next to our original room. Took showers go to get in bed and this bed is worse than the other bed! Hairs everywhere short hairs even on the pillows that was the size of a couch pillow — No Joke! We tried staying at the Marriott across the street before going here but they were full. Should of just slept in our truck. I was totally grossed out with this hotel! I have pictures of the hair but don't know how to put them on here!

The place is nice. I ate breakfast here. I was premature with the waffle machine. It was my fault. I knew it had not beeped yet…

One of the best hotels I stayed in. Some of the best food and I'm not a breakfast eater. It was comfortable and the workers are friendly. The Gest we're just as friendly.

Very clean and an excellent deal.

Our room was fine except for the small pillows. We enjoyed the pool and the restaurant. Our main complaint is that the hotel manager woke us up at 6am to tell us that someone had thrown a rock through my rear window (and also through someone else's). There was a police officer waiting for me outside to take down information. I parked my van right out front where it could be seen by the front desk and lobby to prevent something like this from happening — ha! Nothing was stolen — just someone getting their kicks. For that reason, I would never stay here again. I must say that the staff was very friendly and helpful. They swept up the area and taped a plastic bag over my window as I wouldn't have a chance to get it fixed for a couple of days. We were using Choice points to stay there, so we didn't pay anything for our night's stay, but I think they should have offered to give us a free room for a future time.

I felt way over charged for this room. The staff was great! The room however was not so nice. Wish the windows opened up because it smelled terrible! really gross and there was an air freshener in the room, so they knew it was a problem. The outside of the building was peeling and falling off. If I paid half the price I was charged I would have felt much better about it.

I was fortunate enough to stay at this hotel last week. My stay got extended at the last minute and because there was no availability, I had to switch hotels. I am currently in a hotel a good bit more expensive than The Belle and I must say the service is no where near what I received last week. The front desk, the cleaning ladies, and the bar staff were ALL exceptional. I looked forward everyday to coming back after work to a perfectly clean room and a cold glass of wine served from a smiling face. The next time I visit DE I will be making sure to book in-advance so that I can get a room at The Belle!

I have a second floor room by the lobby. Location is fairly quiet, room is well appointed, bed is comfortable. The provided breakfast is quite acceptable with some hot foods in addition to the standard cereal and pastries.

Heroin users in room next to us. Terrible on cleanliness and no Wi-Fi. Tv barely worked no HD content. Manager Paul R. Was rude dismissive and condescending. Would not even talk to us face to face would only call the room. Offered no solutions not even a refund if we leave. Absolutely awful.

I have stayed twice at this hotel and have felt right at home on both occasions. From Phil, Wendy, and the rest of the professional and courteous staff at the front desk, to Ronnie, Philip, and Melissa at the Augusta Grill located in the facility, my stay has been a pleasure. I would recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone.

Great hotel for the price. Clean room, good breakfast. The only reasons it's not 5 stars are the throw-pillow sized bed pillows and the fact that the breakfast attendant was on her phone the entire time we were eating.

It's an older hotel, but the amenities aren't too bad if you overlook the aging building. I've had the luxury of staying and using the banquet service, helpful and attentive wait staff to match the hospitality staff up front. Again, the only downside is what cannot be controlled: age.

Convenient location, clean room and friendly staff. Building could use a refresh and the breakfast is just ok, but there were a lot of choices.

I did not stay at the hotel but attended a Mini Show. Was layer out nicely. Would go back or even use them to host an event.

This is a reasonably good hotel. Rooms are big. There's definitely some road noise from being right on I-295, but it's not too bad.

Spent 3 nights there nice club atmosphere on a Saturday night and the drinks were reasonable.

The conference room was nice but an incessant hum from one of the speakers was extremely annoying. Lunch was fairly priced and appeared to be made fresh.

Very nice relaxing hotel, the rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, and more. The full buffet breakfast was excellent. The location is very easy to find. Totally worth the price.

I have stayed here a couple of times me and my gf decided to stay a night to make a long story short I left my watch in the room when I checked out I called and told them they told me they couldn't go in the room and we has to call the manager, so my I called the manager he said that the people were able to check the room and if the watch wasn't there he would replace it and we could have a free night. After all of that he didn't do anything he said.

Descent hotel, good location. However I didn't inspect the bathroom before needing to use it the next morning when it was too late to change rooms. Found hairs on the toilet and in the tub and the bottom of the tub was very dirty, also found a used bar of soap from the previous guest on the soap tray from the previous guest. The desk clerk didn't seem to be concerned with the matter and insinuated that it was somehow not a problem since I didn't report it immediately. I would have thought that a fairly nice hotel like this would be embarrassed and be willing to make concessions of some sort. I will be returning to the New Castle area on business in the future but will not be staying here. I could pay a lot less money to have someone elses hair and dirt in the bathroom.

Nice quite hotel. Selected for its pet friendly status though I didn't need to use it but nice to know it was available. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean. Bed/pillows were great. Better than usual hotel breakfast. Will use again when in the area.

Solid place! Room had nice extras (Flatscreen TV, Frig, Coffee Maker, Microwave) and was clean. Restaurant was solid with great wings! VERY easy to get to off the highway. Not much within walking distance, but good place to stay in the area. Pet friendly was an added bonus.
