Outstanding food and hospitality. Would definitely stay here again. Loved having a fireplace in our room.

The beer was good, the food not so much. I started with a Caesar salad — $8 — and it was a few leaves of lettuce cut into squares, with four croutons on the side. I ordered Paella and I received a mound of starchy white rice with chunks of seafood mixed in, and four overcooked mussels around the edge. That cost $24. We waited 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and I left after we'd waited another 30 for dessert. It was Wednesday night and the place was maybe two thirds full at the peak. I may go back for a beer but not food.

Great food! Great beers! What more could you ask for?

For a small inn that is trying to appear classy, they should ensure their staff is friendly and classy as well. I went in to the bar section for drinks. I have the beer passport and was planning on having dinner and drinks and get a stamp on my passport. When we went in and sat down, I asked the bartender if he would do flights. His response, "if I have to. " I sampled a beer and then ordered a glass of it as did my partner. The bartender only came back with one beer. He never spoke to us the entire time. I ended up just finishing my beer and we left to go somewhere else for dinner. I will never be back here.

Great service and a variety of beers available. We didn't eat. They have a nice patio outside as well, but it was too hot to sit outside.

I love the Norwich Inn! It is quaint, and cozy. The rooms are the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, and I travel quite a bit. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to my next trip to Vermont, this is where I will gladly stay again!

The group dinner and beer tasting were amazing. The old building, the service and the food were all top notch.

Stopped in to the bar today with my wife and sister in law for lunch. Food was very good, beer excellent; a very cozy place with excellent service. We will return.

Food is truly mediocre. Service is passable. I guess they have some cool beers, but I don't drink so don't care. Recommend going elsewhere.

After successfully completing an unsupported, purist-styled, thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail… while decompressing from the trip… I've reviewed my notes from this journey.
This was my second WORST experience for lodging on the trail. Another hiker and I wanted to treat ourselves before getting into the more difficult next stages of the trail. We were hoping for something a little better than the hostels that we had become accustomed to. We called ahead for reservations… and I can remember being assisted by one of the most accommodating and friendly gentlemen. He worked with us to get us an earlier check-in time… and assured us that this was a hiker friendly establishment. None of these things happened. (We stayed there for two nights and I never met the gentlemen that answered the phone. ) The lady at the desk had nothing but disdain for us. We were not going to be allowed to check-in early, no matter what we had been told. While waiting, we inquired about where we could get laundry done. She couldn't help us. Where can we get haircuts… any barber shops around? She couldn't help us. While we Googled the information we were trying to find, I listened to this lady happily help other guests with bird-watching questions, a quilting question… and listened to her put down the grocery/gas station business next door to the Inn. We couldn't even keep our packs in the Inn until after we had been checked in.

We stopped in for brunch and a beer at the brewery. The place is adorable. The people are friendly. I was so happy with my breakfast sandwich. We then enjoyed a beer under the hops!

I visited the Norwich Inn for a business meeting. We met on the lovely farmers porch and went into the dining area for our meeting. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere superb!

Quaint little inn with a wonderful pub and restaurant… Nice selection of craft beer (whistling pig is a solid red ale), friendly staff, and a porch where you can enjoy your drink in a nice rocking chair.

The burger at the pub is fine and they some cool beers. I wouldn't recommend dining in the dining room, I've had some poor experiences there both in terms of food quality and service. Definitely not with the price. The ambience is nice.

The room was extremely clean, very quaint with lovely furniture.
The $3 breakfast was worth much more than that! We ate dinner on the pub the first night. Great, personable bartender. Same for the waiter. The drink and food choices were plentiful. The food was very good. The second evening, Valentine's Day, we ate in the dining room. Our waitress, Patty, was attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. The decor of the whole establishment was warm and inviting. If in that area again, we will be sure to stay at the Inn. A very positive experience! What a stellar way to spend our 25th anniversary!

Great experience staying here for the night. Very accepting of hikers even with all the stink. Checked in with the very friendly staff and then had a few delicious beers after. Can't say enough good things about this place.

I only ate in the restaurant, but I had a great time! The server offered a special flight of beer that would allow me to try all the crafts on tap, and I had an incredibly pleasant meal with good service.

Dog Friendly and located near Dartmouth College, Woodstock Vermont and King Arthur Flour is less than 5 minutes away. A great location to explore the surrounding New England towns or to take a cooking class. Thank you to the Norwich Inn for being dog friendly!

Quiet, cozy old world inn and great restaurant. There's even an on sight brewery. We used it as a base for exploring Vermont without any snow.

I love fantastic places that are off the beaten path and the Norwich Inn is one of them. They've got clean, comfortable rooms with fireplaces and a cozy pub with their own brewery. The brewmaster is super-friendly and will talk with you as long as you'd like about beer and brewing.

I am a Dartmouth graduate and have been up to visit Hanover many times. While I enjoy being right on campus at the Hanover Inn, nothing beats the atmosphere at the Norwich Inn. I have stayed both in the Main Inn and the new rooms on the backside of their little campus. While the Main Inn is charming, the fireplace in the new room was awesome. If you are going to eat, I recommend the pub; great food and a little more laid back than the dining room. Overall, if visiting the Hanover area whether it is to see Dartmouth or enjoy the Upper Valley, the Norwich Inn is a can't miss.

The place was lousy in every sense from lack of water pressure for toilets/showers to food quality in the inn. The bathroom was so small you couldn't put on make up or dry your hair — and there was only one outlet so hair accessories had to be plugged and unplugged for use. The t. V. Channels were only local ones so there was nothing to watch, and there were no movies available or movie channel. Staff were asked to give me wake up calls and forgot, prepare my outgoing receipt to expedite my departure in the early a. M. And forgot. The Inn claims to be non-smoking, but staff (and guests, I suppose) smoke right outside the door so the stink of cigarettes came right into the inn. A terrible place I would never return to, nor recommend.

It strikes me as odd that there can be so many divergent views/reviews about staying at an old inn like this. I've stayed there a number of times and I've found it charming in an old "Fawlty Towers" kind of way. Yes, it's a little shabby, and I've had some employees that were a bit crusty, but I've also had some delightfully helpful staff. It's not the Holiday Inn, it's a semi-rustic old place that has a one of a kind character, what fun to sit quietly in the front room and have a cup of tea by the fireplace. They always have tea and coffee and some baked goods to nibble. The dinning room is a little upscale for my tastes, but I had a baked sole there once last year and it was as good a dinner as I've ever had. Last time I stayed there I tried the bar and it was convenient, but nothing memorable — though the bar tender was fun. I quess my point is — I will be visiting the area again next weekend and I'll stay there again; I like creaky wooden floors and faded elegance, not cookie cutter motels.
