Very Nice place near campus.

Clean and conveniently located hotel. Staff was nice and accommodating. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Room was immaculate and the toiletries we're good quality.

Stayed here twice on the way to Burlington, once with our dog; the hotel was exceptional. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there are tons of places to eat and shop nearby, as well as the historic Dartmouth campus. The rooms are affordably priced, and I would 100% recommend staying here to anyone in the Hanover area.

The AC was broken probably around noon (may be even earlier; I did not recognize until it was too hot). The room temperature went up to 80F. They told me someone will come and check TOMORROW! Update: The AC still broken. Can't wait to have it fixed. Say tomorrow.

Pleasant accommodations in the middle of the town. Low rating b/c hottest day of the year and their A/C failed. Room thermostat was locked on 75 degrees. After cold showers and uncomfortable period the rest of the night was barely tolerable. The management offered no consideration in room rates. I would not stay there again on principal. There are other choices available equally suitable and more considerate of service that failed customer expectations.

I am currently staying here at the hotel and URGENTLY needed to contact my bank in New Zealand and contacted the front desk who slammed the phone down on me several times. The staff member was Jeff and he refused to not only assist but find out where to get the much needed information. This situation was urgent and still no one could help. The arrogance and shocking state of behaviour was unbelievable.

Oh, this review is SO long overdue! My sister, niece and I visited NH and stayed at South Six Hotel in Sept 17 and it is my opinion that if you are going to Hanover to visit Dartmouth you won't find a better place to stay. Six South is within walking distance of EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The rooms are quiet and cozy. And, really, the whole place is thoughtfully appointed. The food in the cafe was great, their beer selection was fantastic! And the staff are AMAZING. Like, the coolest, nicest people, EVER. They do not pester and they aren't cloying or phony — I live in LA, I can spot phony/annoying a mile away. ;) They are just cool, quick to laugh and just… rad. The kind of people I could see myself being friends with. From housekeeping, to the chef, to the waitstaff, the folks at the front desk — we were SO comfortable and HAPPY there. It was an emotional time for us — hopes and dreams being explored and quietly pinned on the big D. But, that's what made staying at Six South so great. We'd walk in and see TomB (the BOMB! ) and we'd instantly feel better. What a great, kind man. Again not phony in any way. Just authentically cool, nice, funny and so easy to talk to. He gets it, ya know? It's possible that not everyone will recognize him as such right off the bat. He may fly a little under the radar. But spend a minute talking with him and, what a guy! My sister, niece and I ALL loved him so much.

Great welcome and service. Nice clean room and easy free internet. The restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Nice relaxed bar with some local brews. Centrally located downtown close to college and many shops/ restaurants.

Very sleek and modern but classy. Very nice staff and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

I have stayed at Six South approximately five times, perhaps more. It's a good choice for a hotel within walking distance of Dartmouth that is a better bargain than the Hanover Inn. It's a bit farther than the Inn, but still definitely walkable to anywhere on campus in about 20 minutes maximum. The hotel is fine. About on par with a courtyard Marriott or other common business hotel. Nice glass showers and tasteful bathroom fixtures. The shower has run out of hot water on me after my buddy showered first for a not unreasonable amount of time. Bed linens are average. The pullout couch I've stayed on once was not very good. Thin mattress without much support and not a ton of linens for the pullout, including no comforter, just a basic fleece blanket. Dog friendly hotel, which is a big plus because the Hanover area is great for dogs. Small bistro inside the hotel but it is not a well known or trafficked restaurant in Hanover. Really only of use in a pinch if nothing else is available. Valet parking $20, no other parking available except on the street or in the Hanover garage. Note that overnight street parking is banned in the winter season in Hanover. Service is friendly but not necessarily super super attentive. All in all, this hotel is just about the location and price compared to its only real competitor. I think that means they don't feel a big incentive to be anything other than average. Still, it's where I stay when I come to Hanover.

I went there this morning. Can not get into our room early at all. Breakfast sucked very cold and you have to pay for it. The room was just ok. I think if I am paying 300.00 for a room it should be amazing. It wasn’t at all.

Great service, friendly staff. Room was clean and everything was in place. Please provide toothpaste in each room and also water jug. Also, provide a door to the shower area to avoid water drops falling outside. Apart from minor complaints I liked it very much. I would definitely recommend staying here.

My room was decently cleaned and the bed was very comfortable. My main frustration with this establishment is the parking cost $20. Keep in mind we are in Lebanon NH not NYC… Anyway here is a little bit of help for those of you traveling to the area. There is 2 hour street parking from 9am-5pm ($0.75/hr). There is also a parking ban for overnight street parking during the winter from midnight until 7am. Also merely feet from the entrance of the hotel is a covered parking structure which is 100% free to park in during the winter from 7pm to 7am (I am fairly certain this is where the hotel puts your vehicle overnight then charges you $20). Also if you are staying longer and don't want to move your vehicle the parking garage is $15 for a full day.

This was a nice hotel posing as a great expensive hotel at reasonable prices. They had me at quality service, but lost me at being a 5 star hotel and pretending to be it. Then the prices don't seem reasonable, but more like an insult.

I was travelling here for work, the hotel is very nice with spacious rooms. The only thing that disappointed me was that the room had a shower instead of a bath.

Pretty perfect. The room was great. The bartenders were friendly and made me a perfect birthday almost mocktail cocktail. Loved the beet salad too. The younger bartender went way above and beyond. A+ and a perfect location walking distance to all of Hanover.

Tried charging $200 to the credit card for claiming I smoked in the room. Parking is $20… Rooms are okay but not worth the $170 price tag. It's close to Dartmouth so they feel as though they can empty your wallet for average services and lodging. I'm a non-smoker, by the way…

Hotel is nice and staff are super friendly. The bartender was good at mixing new cocktails and a great source of local trivia.

The service was astoundingly slow, and they weren't particularly apologetic about it. Granted, we were a large party, but 3 hours to get apps, mains and desert? They also forgot several items and had to be reminded repeatedly. Also, a restaurant of this type should know who ordered what. The food was okay. Nothing special, not worth the price. Would not patronise again.

This was a great hotel in Hanover, NH just a few blocks from Dartmouth. The room was clean and spacious with a good selection of TV channels. The shower had lots of water pressure so I felt great starting my day. Six South St hotel does not have a designated parking area but the valet staff were very fast at getting my car. I was able to walk to several dinner locations.

One of the best old hotels I've stayed at period. Great rooms and service. You cannot beat the location with tons of restaurants and lots shops around!

In addition to paying $170 per night, parking on-site is $25. This hotel doesn't have free parking. My other gripe was the A/C. I set it for 67° and it got as low as 70°. The room is pretty nice, but enough nickel and diming your customers.

Booked through their site and got a good rate. In the heart of town, but far enough away from everything so I could sleep. Attentive staff, modern and clean. Yummy cookies too!

We needed an adult weekend away desperately and landed at Six South in Hanover. The parking was close and handy. We were pleasantly surprised by the modern yet comfortable lobby. The gentleman at the desk made checking in a breeze and offered tons of suggestions for dining. Our room was gorgeous and while we did head out to grab some drinks and dinner, we headed back to the beautiful room for most of our time. We used the gym and had brunch in the restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel and we cant wait to go back. Hanover is quaint and this hotel is perfectly set on a side street within walking distant to everything. We wanted to move in, but thus the children at home beckoned us. Thank you Six South for the re-charge weekend!

Had a fantastic stay at Six South on New Year's Eve. The staff and GM treated is exceptionally well. The rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable. Liked it so much that we stayed for a second night! One of the best parts was that we could bring our dog who enjoyed his stay as well!

Six South Street Hotel is my family go-to hotel! Right in the heart of Hanover the location couldn't be more ideal to visit the Upper Valley, shop at the boutiques, or simply stroll through town. The staff are so welcoming, always remembering our names from trip to trip which makes our children feel special. Until next time SSS, thanks for everything!

The location and the room were both great. The shower was a little lacking as the hot water didn't work very well but other than that I have no complaints.
