As a very exhausted health care worker I decided to take a weekend and treat myself.
As so many other we are trying hard to cope and keep a positive morale.
So this looked good and was close to the Cog where I wanted to do the train ride
Recently upgraded? In spite of endless texts to owner about heat not working and only this skinny quilt and it was like 26deg in the room.
The entrance foyer should have been a good warning
The quilt ironically looks like it has not been cleaned in a while but they state they charge you $50 if it needs to be cleaned 😳
I spent part of the night in my car to warm up yes I could have left but signal is so bad I couldn’t reach another place and not knowing the area and it’s late and dark had no idea where to go so my car felt a better option
I asked if he could tell me where a store was so I could go and buy a blanket — no response
Guess maintenance is still on its way more than 12 hours after texting the owner.
Terrible! Do not stay! Dirt, mold, unsafe, no toilet paper or trash can, 3 towels for 5 people and multiple requests for more. Also by the time we left the tub knob was so loose that the water wouldn’t shut off and kept running constantly. AC was broken, my kids bunk beds were in the kitchen next to a stove. Owner was notified of all these things and never sent anyone over as promised. Stayed for 2 nights and did not see 1 single staff member. No pool like it stated, cigarette butts in a can outside on porch. Stains in sheets and mold on comforter.

The rooms were disgusting, unsanitary, and unsafe! The fist room we couldn't open the door over the ice heap, the walk ways to all the cottages were not shoveled. There was water leaking from the piping of the walls, a huge puddle of water on the floor from this. Mold on the trim around the tub that I could put my finge through. The bathroom was grose, the mirror has toothpaste splotches, the sink had hair toothpaste and who knows what in it! The stove had cooking splatters on the wall. We requested 2 cots only one was made up. I called the in keeper to tell him we wanted a refund immediately. He then told us he would have housekeeping open another room for us. We decided to give it another try because it was so late and we had two small children. I went to the other room to see if it was sanitary. Again I was met with an unshoveled walk way. Once I opend the door I was hit with fumes from the propane heater. I went in further the bathroom was disgusting in this room as well, hair in the sink with other unknown smudges. The shower had black gunk and dirt in it. The bed had a huge white chunky crusty stain on the blanket. I did not feel safe staying in this room due to the fumes from the heater and again this room was unsanitary. I called the inkeeper and demanded a refund but he proceeded to tell me that I had to contact booking. Com for a refund. So we left at 915pm extremely frustrated and tired to find another place to stay. When I contacted booking.
