We just reserved for our Fifth annual visit. Couldn’t ask for more… wonderful hosts, beautiful seaside setting near town center and Gloucester but away from the crowds, attractive rooms and comfortable beds, gourmet breakfasts…

This renuvated older home has many extras that are not only quaint, but very Serene and peaceful. Loved relaxing by the waterfall and coy pond. They even had a pet seagull. Every room has it's own view of the ocean. The proprietors are very caring and accommodating people who truly have created a little slice of heaven for folks to retreat and relax at. Do yourself a favor, and stay at the Seafarer Inn, I promise it will be a memorable time for all…

Our experience exceeded our expectations. The room was unusually large for a B&B, the ocean views were splendid (and available from many points in the house), and the hosts are in the right business (not something we can say of all the B&B owners we've met). The requests we'd submitted ahead of time were all attended to, and we were especially impressed by the way they responded when we came down for breakfast within five minutes of the time when breakfast was supposed to end: instead of making us feel as if we ought to hurry, they kept the whole buffet set up and kept checking that we had everything we needed. Breakfast was quite plentiful — and I guess it's no surprise that it was much better on the second day, when we got down earlier, before the food had been sitting too long under the heat. We also felt the room rate was a good one, compared to most other places we've stayed on Cape Ann. If I had to say anything negative, it would be about the road you need to drive down in order to reach the inn ("rutted" would be a kind description of its condition), but I don't know what he owners can do about that. All in all, this one is a definite keeper!

Our room was very comfortable and had a lovely view. The inn is beautiful, and we especially enjoyed eating a yummy breakfast outside on the deck, looking over the koi pond to the rocky coast — it was really idyllic. Chris also gave us great information on local walks AND sent me my sweater that I accidentally left behind in the room. We'll definitely be back!

This is the quintessential coastal New England Inn. The rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable, the breakfast was wonderful and full of variety, the hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. The best part is the location, however, across the street from the bay and lovely seating outside to enjoy the view. This is a wonderful place!

Chris and Beth, my wife Steph and I had a wonderful experience as guests at your beautiful and cozy Inn last night. We celebrated our 31st and you both made us feel so comfortable and welcome. What a great ocean view Chris and Beth the innkeeper's were helpful knowledgeable and very accommodating love the room and the prep work that goes into the wonderful breakfast in the morning when Chris could not control the weather he had some great ideas for our family on the cooler days will definitely stay at the Seafarer Inn the next time we're back in town.

Seafarer inn is located beside a small cove looking towards the vast Atlantic. The place is literally quiet and nothing but the continuous sounds of wave crashing would reach your ear. The hosts are very friendly and gave us important information about very little visited places with grand views of the Atlantic and the port. We wouldn't have known about the headlands or old garden path or even the flat point had they not been told about by the hosts. And the breakfast was sumptuous. We would love to come back here.

Enjoyed our 1 night stay. We stayed in the 3rd floor room with the kitchenette. It was spacious and has nice views. The breakfast is buffet and good. Chris was friendly and recommended a nice spot for dinner. We will go back again.

Hearty breakfast was also available very sufficient.

The view from the top floor room was fantastic, especially in the morning. Perfect distance from "downtown" with lovely little nature trails on the way. Breakfast was good and inn worked with our early schedule.

Quaint, historic Inn off the beaten path. Beautiful setting and neighborhood. Great seaside walks and interesting views around each corner. Some creature comforts evade you at this spot, but being a stones throw from the ocean can be so soothing and therapeutic.

Very nice and quaint inn with great views. It's the perfect place for a romantic getaway or experiencing the quintessential small new England coastal town feel. The staff are extremely nice and accommodating. Close to cute Rockport Harbour or short drive to historic Gloucester. Highly recommend.

I booked The Seafarer Inn for my wife. I was booked on an overnight fishing trip that night out of Gloucester. The location was within walking distance to the center of Rockport and since she insisted I take the car feeling she would be safe was a priority. The location and beautiful surroundings made us both feel at ease. Bottom line she enjoyed her stay and oceanfront walk to town. I joined her the next evening and had a restful night. The room, breakfast, the owners were excellent. I did resist the freshly baked cookies that greet you when you walk in. Would have enjoyed staying longer. Thanks.

I read the previous review and it refers to a different owner. Below is my experience staying with the new owners in Nov/Dec 2013: Stayed nine days at the Seafarer over Thanksgiving/early Dec 2013. What a treat. The view was wonderful and the hospitality was perfect. I have a hard time sleeping anywhere but my own bed but this was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, including my own. It has that relaxing get-away feel. The walking around the Seafarer is a easy and inviting with the great ocean vistas and there is a sweet bluff walk not too far down the way. The hosts were very accommodating and the breakfast part of the bed and breakfast included a wide variety of choices. Just before I left the Inn was decorated for Christmas and looked even more charming than normal. The innkeepers have just bought the Inn and are long time Rockporters. They are welcoming and warm and willing to share their knowledge of the area enthusiastically. All in all a fantastic location with friendly staff and top notch accommodations.

Staying at the Seafarer Inn was a weekend from hell! It was the worst experience I ever had. Dolores the owner is the most mean person that I ever met.
