Reviews of Ramada Hotel & Conference Center 2*
My friend came to visit me n made a reservation at the Ramada here in Lewiston. They were shown to their room n at that moment they said NO WAY are we staying here. It smelled musty n to her n her Husband could see the uncleanliness of the room and the scenery to the room. How embarrassing. Never will be that embarrassed again, although I never gave my recommendation to stay there n I was so glad I was not to have such low expectations. I went to a Football Banquet that was always held elsewhere but this particular year 2013 (yes I will name the year, someone new to the team talked people into this change). Well it was terrible, I never seen so much leftover food. These are Young Men — Football Players leaving food on their plate and the Buffett? Really that confirmed my thoughts. I was so disappointed. Well everyone has bad nights but I've never heard a revue from this place. Lately hearing some say it's too bad the Ramada is so bad cuz it could be somewhere nice to go or have friends n Family stay. Why do they read these reviews n not Lock the doors n have a total Management to every employee retraining or replacement and even bring a Professional Company to Start n Lead this Process. I think it's about time n I think the Chain of Ramada Share Holders should step up and if they do their job maybe they can teach others and especially The Ramada in Lewiston Maine.
I travelled to Lewiston with my daughter to visit my son who lives in town. After checking in at the front desk we were directed to drive around to the back of the hotel and enter through door 4. Our room was on the first floor. The glass in the entrance door was shattered and held in place by tape. It did not lock. There were “sketchy” people hanging around in the parking lot smoking and watching us go inside with our suitcases. It was dark, dirty and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. First and foremost, we did not feel safe there. This hotel had almost 4 stars! How? Very deceptive. All I ask for is a safe and clean place to sleep and this was neither. We left and found other accommodations across town and I’m currently trying to get the $175 refunded.

Terrible Hotel and terrible staff! Stay away! We checked in at 1:00AM only to be greeted with a wet pull out couch and burnt out light bulb in our shower. We were so exhausted after driving 18 hours that we stuck it out. When asked upon check-out how our stay was we were honest and spoke of the issues. Assistant GM overheard and offered a refund. A few minutes later I notice on my receipt that not only was I NOT given a refund but was charged twice for the room at full price. I called back to notify them of the mistake and they said that they would correct it and send me an e-mail confirmation, which I never received. 15 minutes later I get a call from Paul Beland, the Assistant GM saying that he went to the room and the bed was not wet (obviously it had a few hours to dry and was left open! ) and will charge my card for the room minus a discount for the burnt out light bulb. He was very aggressive to me on the phone, basically calling me a liar. I told him I still wasn't refunded the two charges to my room and would not authorize another charge and he basically said "To bad" once you using the paperwork upon check-in we can charge your card freely! Long story short, I was charged over $800.00 9 (for a room that was $100.00USD) on my credit card with the room charges and holds that they held for 5 days! Had to cancel my card to prevent him from charging more!
