The Inn is a beautiful historic building! Loved staying here and hope to be back again! Perfect for my daughter’s beautiful wedding! Billy was amazing and so welcoming to her Inn❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful Inn and great hospitality.

I highly recommend this inn. The place is Beautiful.
The Agora is located at Blake, Walnut and birch street in Lewiston Maine, There is a lot going on around this Inn, you have a Great big park located in the middle of the City right next to the Inn. You have stores and Restaurants close by in every direction, there is Schools, Gyms, Bates collage campus and a lot more.
The wall out of this is in need of repairs badly.

Beautiful room and place, friendly innkeeper, incredible value for money. If owner is not busy, ask for the grand tour!

Recommend everything thing about the Agora. This is a great looking inn. The pricing is fair, the rooms are Clean. The people are nice. There is a large selection of vending machines, an ice maker, it has a vary large parking lot and a Field out back away from the Roads, Highly recommend For Children party's. So come on Down and check out the Amazing Agora. The place is surrounded buy Restaurants.

Big, clean, lovely old house at the park in the center of Lewiston. Spacious, cozy common areas for relaxing. Unfortunately no breakfast, though breakfast restaurants are in walking distance.

We love Jan! So happy to see her again! The Inn is beautiful.

Historical. Pleasant. Nice.

I had an exceptional stay here… I planned on one night, and ended up staying 3! Jan was very accomidating and extremely easy to talk with. Her dog JoJo helped make the Inn feel very homey, and we had lots of very special belly-rub time. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone who wants to stay at a place that truly feels like home. Excellent location, with so much to offer.

This was a real find. The Inn was super clean, Jan the Inn Keeper could not have been nicer and it was a deal!

Beautiful old mansion that has been made into a comfortable inn. Jan, the innkeeper, and her dog, Jojo, were pleasant and vey accommodating. The room was cozy and made for a great night's sleep.

We got married at the Agora and stayed at the Inn along with our wedding party. We had a fantastic weekend here! The rooms were clean and charming and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Jan is the best!

A great place to stay because it is very central to Lewiston, and it is also very interesting and historical as a former rectory.

I am disappointed in their cancellation policy. It feels like this information was buried in their website and I missed it — I do take responsibility for not I booked this inn because my dog was very ill and I needed a pet friendly hotel. My dog passed away a few days after I booked and I cancelled. I did explain the situation to the inn keeper. I understand needing a cancellation policy but considering my situation and the fact that I cancelled so quickly and almost two weeks in advance of my stay I feel like the inn could have waived my fee. Not impressed by the customer service at this inn based on my experience. Looks pretty though.

Jan, the innkeeper is a sweet and effective person. Also, thanks to the owner's mother for her kindness and interest. We were charmed by them both and by all the welcoming details such as cherry offered to the guests in the shared living room. As for the place itself, it is very clean. The architecture of the inn is beautiful and the place is located in a very convenient place in the city of Lewiston. Next time we pass by, we'll make sure to stay at the Inn again.

We stay with Jan whenever we visit our son at Bates. It is a lovely historic property. Very nice rooms, spacious and fine linens. An old fashioned parlor at entrance with fireplace and bottles of port & sherry in keeping with the history and perfect for entertaining other parents! Jan herself is worth a stay. She has deep Maine roots, and lovingly shares local character and culture, as well as tips for activities and meals. Her vouchers towards breakfast at two local spots, one hip and one colorful old diner, are a wonderful way to experience the LA area. Bates campus, restaurants, two breweries, bike path along river (breathtaking pedestrian bridge and falls) all within walking distance.

Lovely historic building with very nice and comfortable furnishings. Staff is among the friendliest you'll encounter in any guesthouse or inn. Welcoming and friendly innkeeper Jan is a Lewiston native with a deep and broad knowledge of the area, so she can guide you on what not to miss. Top notch in every way.

The Inn at the Agora is centrally located in the City of Lewiston. I have stayed there a number of times for business and find the facilities to be impeccable, the bed extremely comfortable and a strong Wi-Fi signal that works even with my remote login requirements. Jan the innkeeper takes pride in providing her guests with nothing but the best accommodations. There are nice restaurants nearby. Fuel in particular is at a nice walking distance of the Inn. Even though the Inn does not serve breakfast, there are a number of spots located nearby as well. Also, if in need of a workout, there is a YMCA not too far down with all the facilities.

We recently spent two "time out of time" nights at the Inn at the Agora. Due to a snow and ice storm we were cocooned there while the rest of the world went by. Beautiful wood working, carved mantel pieces, and the stately proportions of Captain Kelsey's hand-crafted Italianate 19th century mansion, which later became a convent and rectory for St. Patrick's church and which is now a first-class Inn, soothed us and the storm outside! Ask the extremely helpful innkeeper about Captain Kelsey's important role in the history of Lewiston, a time when "its streets were paved with gold, " You will never be guilty of underestimating the city of Lewiston again, as you sip port and nibble chocolates by the fireplace and learn about the mills, canals, and factories that brought fortunes to the banks of the Androscoggin River.

A lovely and comfortable Inn. The location is close to Bates College, near a lovely park and the Innkeeper is the lovely Jan who excels at keeping her residents comfortable and happy.

Jan, the innkeeper, made us feel like family. Our room felt like it was our bedroom and not a "hotel room"… very clean and cozy. We also enjoyed the sitting room with the fireplace… and the beautiful arrangement on the coffee table that offered you chocolate fudge and the option of helping yourself to a glass of port wine or sherry. We'll be back if we have to be in Lewiston again!

Clean and cozy bedrooms in a beautifully restored mansion. I was please with how respectful the new owners were of the former church's history as a place of worship. Be on the lookout for delicious fudge, port wine, and lots of sweets! Check out Forage Market for breakfast.

An excellent warm and homey atmosphere. I even managed in the busy activity of the inn to find a quiet corner to do some (very little) work. Jan, the innkeeper, is a wonderful resource, and always willing to help out with neat and unusual ideas. This was our second, but definitely not our last, visit.

I wish I could be able to give a more in depth review of the actual Inn. Unfortunately due to poor planning on my part, we arrived much, much later than originally planned and left very early the next day. We really only arrived, slept, and left. In that time, though, we enjoyed the spacious rooms that were beautifully appointed and the comfortable beds. What set this place apart, to me, was the amazing innkeeper, Jan. She could not have been more helpful to me when my plans changed and my arrival ended up being very late (midnight). She was very accommodating and understanding and it made us feel truly welcome and reduced the stress of the long drive. Without a doubt, we would return and definitely stay longer to soak in the beauty of this old home.

Excellent accommodations, historical location, convenient to Lewiston attractions and eating places. One of the cleanest and friendliest places we've visited with lots of romantic ambiance and an inn keeper (Jan) who constantly wears a smile and is a fountain of information on local attractions. She also knows the background behind the Inn's "birth" and is more than happy to share! We'll definitely come again.
