Nicest owners ever! cute little motel — nice water view. Ask for a room in the back! second floor has a great deck where you can just sit and relax. They gave great restaurant recommendations too! will be back!

Clean place, very friendly. Walking distance to a beach. Since we have 4, had to sleep on the sofa bed, not comfy of course. The a/c is very loud. Still a nice place to stay.

Have stayed here several times over the years. Great location, adequate rooms. Nothing too fancy, but certainly worlds better than the rest of the options. Walking distance to beach and several amazing restaurants. Rooms have microwave, refrigerator, and access to a green area with water views. Always a pleasure to stay here.

Very clean, easy access to beach and Newport center by car, comparatively cheap, easy parking, friendly staff, nice view (although partially blocked by a fence), and lots of cool potted flower plants around.

No — this is not a five star hotel, but it deserves it nonetheless. Though it has no pool, and it has no continental breakfast, and the room is small, I would go back in a heartbeat! You can tell that someone cares. It is clean. As another reviewer said and I agree, it is well maintained. Starting with all the lush flowers with which they decorate the outside — just to make it more pleasant for patrons as we enter or exit our rooms — you know that you will have a pleasant stay, and you do. Thank you, Sea Whale.

Simple motel. Quite and continent.

"Rhode Island doesn't recognize emotional support animals. It's the law", I was told. I wasn't prepared to debate the nuances of laws or lack of them, but I was slightly insulted by the insinuation that it's against the law to have a dog in a motel, support or otherwise. Just because you don't have to do something doesn't mean you shouldn't.

Booked the Sea Whale for a two night getaway through Expedia and received a call the Monday before our Friday two night stay, saying they overbooked and could not honor our upper level room with a view. We were offered a lower level room which was not acceptable because the true reason that we booked here is because the 2nd floor has a deck that has terrific sunset views and a place to have drinks or your morning coffee. While apologetic Terri put the responsibility on Expedia while Expedia stated that the hotel didn't close out the room type. This was a delayed Birthday celebration and this really ruined the weekend. I believe we were the ones to get bumped because our reservation came through Expedia even though we had our reservation for weeks. I'm not sure why it would take this long to notify us if this had happened at the time that we reserved. Expedia was gracious enough to give us an account credit which we appreciate.

The rooms are very clean. The yard out back containa 2 tables and 2 sets of Adirondack chairs with beautiful views of the lake. A short walk from several cafes and breakfast spots.

Lovely setting, perfect location in Middletown. IMMACULATE! Older furnishings but new carpeting, beautiful flowers, gorgeous pond, and great hosts!

The price was good for being walking distance to a nice beach and short drive to other sights. The owner was pleasant and accommodating. Room was clean and stocked well. Room & bathroom were small for my family of four (2 adult size teenagers) but adequate for 2 nights. Would stay there again.

Stayed in Room 2 last night! Front desk staff/owners John & Teri, were so friendly. Room was spotless. Fresh towels. Clean bed linens. Had a great view of a little beach. Place was quiet at night, I loved it. Had gorgeous flowers outside! Air conditioner worked flawlessly and wasn't too loud (didn't disturb us at night). Cable and Wi-Fi was free! Local calls from room, free! Room had single cup coffee maker, two complimentary snacks, refrigerator, microwave, plenty of lighting, and a nice television! Bathroom was clean! Free soap and shampoo. Great water pressure in the shower. Wall mounted blow dryer too! Overall was an amazing experience! Definitely going to be back soon! Would absolutely recommend the Sea Whale Motel!
