Great place for any event.

First time here for work and the desk person was a wonderful, upbeat, helpful, friendly and patient with my questions and numerous phone calls. Beautiful, clean, comfortable hotel and room! Definitely will be staying here again!

Restaurant rips you off! Gives you a pot of coffee and then charges you $2.95 for every cup you have out of it? Driving home couldn’t figure out where $30 of the 100.00 breakfast for 3 was. Called and found out service was added in and we weren’t aware I’ve never seen that done, ever! So we paid $18 for service and an $11 for a tip. Waitress never even said tip was already given! Looked reasonably priced on the menu but could of eaten someplace much better for $100. Food wasn’t even that great. Never going back.

Proximity to Wesleyan University is convenient. Clean. Restaurant attached to hotel had great atmosphere and good food.

The Inn at Middleton is a really beautiful hotel. My group and I are all from out of state and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It has a great atmosphere and it looks and feels very current. We arrived at night and the front of the bbuilding was lit up with colored lights and looked magical! Everything is very clean and looks brand new. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. If I return to the area, I'd love to stay here again. The only downside is that the rooms are a bit on the expensive side, and they don't even include breakfast.

Bed was comfortable, room cozy. There aren't any hotels around so thís Inn is way over priced and not worth it. If money is no object to you and you want to pay for each little convenience, stay here.

Excellent small, boutique hotel I downtown Middleton. Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The restaurant offers a varied and interesting menu. We had frittatas for breakfast. The staff is friendly, efficient and accommodating. A great place to stay. Why stay at a chain hotel when the Inn is so handy?

My fiance and I were married at the Inn this past Saturday, June 30th. Katelin made the process of booking & planning the wedding so easy. She was wonderful. Jill & Danielle were also superb! The food was magnificent. The Inn made my fiance & I feel so special. I would HIGHLY recommend the Inn for your wedding and for any special event. They gave us a night we will never, ever forget.

We had my sisters bridal shower in the Wesleyan room at the inn and let me tell you, it exceeded all of my expectations. The room itself is absolutely beautiful with tons of natural light. The decor is very simple and they allow you to bring in any extra decorations you’d need like. When we got there to set up the staff was in the room to greet us and get us any extra tables or chairs we might have needed. We went with the “Tea party” menu that included cheese, fruit and crackers with scones and clotted cream for appetizers. The main course was salad, mini quiches and finger sandwiches and everything tasted amazing. The inn is one of the few places with this sort of light menu, which was perfect for an early afternoon shower. The champagne punch and mini desserts are also to die for. All of the staff was very attentive and had great attitudes. Going around with bottles of wine, making sure the appetizers and the sandwiches were constantly restocked and clearing or used plates to avoid clutter on the table. The only tough part for the shower (and this isn’t even the inns fault) is the lack of parking on main st. A lot of our guests had a hard time finding street parking, and the valet at the inn is obviously not free. Just something to make sure your guests know ahead of time!

I had breakfast at the inn, the wait staff was very friendly and helpful and help guide me to things in the area to do, the food has good.

This is a unique and elegant wedding venue. Food and service are great. Parking is NOT free but location is not bad and there is plenty street parking.

We use the Inn for a variety of reasons including Holiday Parties, Retirement Parties, Retreats, and booking potential candidates. Any candidate we have booked at the hotel has always been happy and impressed with the accommodations and friendliness of staff. Olga, Tim, Karin, and Kaitlin are very helpful and go the extra mile to help! The Hotel itself is absolutely stunning.

It was okay. No microwave in the room, no parking nearby, and no continental breakfast. There looked like it had been recently remodeled, and the location was good.

I djed a wedding there a few weeks back. I have to say the staff was above and beyond helpful with all our needs to set up and have a great wedding performance. The place is also very welcoming and beautiful. I look forward to maybe working with them in the future.

The hotel was going through renovation during my stay… There were signs posted that stated that they are renovating, but there was nothing about the workout room or pool area being shut down during that time. You should’ve told guests at check in time in case some guests are use to working out daily and not assume we’d know that just because you post a sign only saying that your renovating the hotel. When I called to express my disappointment and ask when it would open again, a young lady said “well we have signs” and told me that it would open the next day by 5:30… but it was not! Putting all that aside… the place was nice and the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend the Hanger Stake. Its incredible!

Nice rooms, good location. Could have a better bar. Parking is not directly next to the building (about a block down the hill and across the street), but valet is available.

An extraordinary place. Charming, elegant yet warm and cozy. Staff very accommodating. An excellent choice for a quality Hotel close to Hartford. Rooms recently redone, comfortable bed with soft sheets.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Inn at Middletown. We were greeted at the front desk by a lovely young lady named Diana. Our recently updated suite was beautiful and we had a great view of the area from our windows. All of the staff were very friendly and professional. Breakfast was delicious! There were so many mouthwatering choices on the menu to choose from. We will definitely go back to stay at the Inn at Middletown again in the future!

Had a wonderful thoughtful waitress on New Year’s Day evening. However — not fully staffed and we had terrible service. We had children with us and we’re hoping for a quick early dinner. This did not happen and caused a great deal of stress. We would not go again for a holiday dinner. Disappointing at best.

This restaurant has been recommended to me many times by several people but unfortunately it was a great disappointment. With all the options in the City of Middletown this was definitely one of the worst I've ever had. I invited 6 guests to join me for dinner for the holiday season. It took over 30 minutes to be asked what our drink order would be. When the drinks finally came out after another 20 minutes of the seven cocktails that were ordered only 6 came out and we had to wait another 10 minutes for the 7th drink. So after 45 minutes our order was finally taken. One of the guests from the table went to go ask what was taking so long and she found out there was only one bartender, one waitress, and one line cook. Really on a Thursday night with a few large parties and that's all you have on duty? Oh and not only that the manager was off that night you do not leave a staff of only three without a manager to step in and pick up the slack. Finally after an hour and a half our appetizers came period after a little over 2 hours are meal game. With great disappointment most of the food was lukewarm and potatoes were ice cold. Vegetables or not cooked and tasted awful and the spinach was loaded with salt that you couldn't even put it in your mouth. Oh yes I'm going back to the cocktail order one of the drink words was completely wrong of what was requested it wasn't even what we ordered.

I stay here frequently with my customers and the staff is always very kind and make our stay enjoyable. A special thanks to our great friendly server Kim. Always has a big smile and makes sure we have everything we need. Thank you all!

Excellent venue for our party. The room was nice with plenty of seating. For this event they served appetizer food and it was very good. My only complaint is that I couldn't find the name Inn at Middletown anywhere on their sign.

Cool historic location right off of main street. The facility has always been clean in my experience and the bar has a cozy New England feel, but the food is just alright. The facility also has lavish but very limited restrooms, so you may have to wait a while. Parking can be difficult if you don't know the area, however there is a shared parking lot behind the building that usually has open spaces.

Parking lot was far away and pool/gym were dated, but rooms were nice.

The Inn is a nice place to stay. The room was just as advertised. The food in the Cafe was above average. The one and only downside was the limited parking close to the hotel.

A little pricey for Middletown, but staff was very friendly and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Very rustic and beautiful place, almost feel like you've transported yourself instantly out of Middletown and into a posh boutique area.

This is such an amazing place! We stayed here for our wedding weekend in 2014 and come back every year for our anniversary. There is no place like it, such an amazing unique hotel, very clean and staff is great. Also the food at the Tavern is incredible!

Stayed here after a wedding. The valet parking was convenient and prompt. The staff were helpful and the rooms were comfortable.

A historic, cute inn. Spacious, clean room. Nice restaurant, a pool and hot tub. Stay here, and don't be disappointed.

For the prices they charger and the time and effort they put into maintaining such a beautiful location you'd think the staff would atleast pretend to care about the guests. Rooms were not ready close to on time and any question posed to staff prompted a response as though you had bothered them at home. On sight alone the Inn is amazing, unfortunately they don't seem concerned about much else. Apatently I'm not alone, on the elevator another guest made the recommendation that the name of the Inn be changed to "Lipstick on a Pig"… much more fitting.

We had my soon to be Daughter in law's bridal shower at the Inn at Middletown this past Sunday! We were so pleased! From the moment we got there the staff was so helpful, the room was beautiful and the food was delicious! Katelin was my contact person and she was wonderful keeping me updated! I highly recommend the Inn at Middletown! All our guests were very impressed! Thank you again for making my daughter in law's day so special!

Didn't stay overnight but attended an all-day work meeting held in one of the Inn's medium-sized conference rooms (which comfortably held 20 of us). The property was charming and its interior looked maintained and updated. The lunch served was good and the bathroom facilities were clean.

Very nice place, convenient to Wesleyan and not too expensive. Clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. Comfortable. Roomy enough. Fridge. I can't think of anything that we didn't like about it. If you need a fancy place, there is one that costs 2X as much in downtown Middletown. But I'm pretty sure that you can't tell the difference when you are in bed with your eyes closed. BTW, this place did NOT smell moldy, and they don't use scented cleaning products or air fresheners, so you DON'T get that "motel room" smell.

Perfect location for the wedding venue we attended. Parking on the street limited however valet is available.

We love the Inn at Middletown. We visit often for dinner and cocktails, have brought the family for breakfast on occasion, and have recommended this as the place for our guests to stay. The staff is wonderful!

The staff, the room, and the restaurant/bar were all great. The only complaints I have are the front of the building on the 3rd floor has noisy rooms with the lobby and common areas below, the window looks out at tar paper as the front wall is higher than the window, and there is no decent parking but street parking, and $16/day valet which is outdoors in the lot across the street (which is where steet parking is).

The staff at the Inn did a splendid job on very short notice. 90 days from proposal to wedding. They took care of the room block and made changes as needed. Very late, we decided to have a brunch the day after. It was great! Gabby and team get a 10+ from us. October 10, 2015

I have stayed at this hotel about 15 times, our daughter is a Wesleyan student. Each and every time we have been treated as royalty. The rooms are immaculate and the service in the dining room is excellent (especially Maria). There is a workout room and if there is one thing that could be improved would be a refurbishment of that room, but that is just a very small part of the overall picture.

I can believe it, so many negative reviews about this place. Rooms, Clean. Service polite, prompt and with a smile. No it's not a 5 Star hotel. But these people did a great job. I had a totally awesome experience. I asked for an early check in they made no promises and came through. I asked for a late check out they said: lets see what I can do and they did. Guys it's not like I don't travel much, I do and I'm very picky about where I stay. No it wasn't the Ritz Carlton but then again I didn't pay $450 a night. For the price, the hotel and the town was a very nice place to visit.

This hotel is terrible. I had a room block for my wedding and everything that could have gone wrong, DID. They are not flexible at all. I requested an early check in and they told me to call an hour before I wanted to be there to see if it was possible. They were rude to all of our guest and very unorganized.

We went for New Years and had a subpar experience. The rooms did not have a refrigerator/wet-bar, and after talking with a "professional" at the front desk several times over the phone, on where to park, neglected to mention free valet service. We eventually utilized this service and regretted it! REMEMBER to remove ALL valuables from your car, money was stolen from ours! However, the Tavern restaurant, despite the long wait, had excellent food (we had both dinner and breakfast) and remarkable wait staff (who were well worth the tip unlike valet who take it upon themselves to steal from others). After our experience, and reading those from others, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
