Two stars only because the room was nice and clean. I'm not one to leave reviews, but I thought this was necessary. The staff, specificially Cheryl who seemed to run the place, made our stay very uncomfortable. My 3 year old daughter wanted to swim for her birthday, so we thought this was the perfect place. When I called and asked if we could have her party there I was told they had a room next to the pool, perfect for a small party. Once we arrived we were directed to set up our event in the common area, where everyone was walking in and out of the hotel. We rushed through a quick "Happy Birthday" and we quickly picked up everything and left the "area" how we received it. The following morning, breakfast is 8-10 on weekends, we get there at 9. The kids want waffles, the only "hot" thing they have there (the website states free hot breakfast, it consisted of waffles, pastrys, and cereal) I go ask Cheryl if we could get some more waffle mix because their was only enough to make one waffle, she says "no breakfast is almost over. " It's literally right in the middle of breakfast, with an hour left till the end. Then Cheryl proceeds to tell me that their should be some pastrys left that they can eat… that's not what I asked for, but thanks anyways. Seriously how much is a little waffle mix? So kids are upset at this point. Then to top it all off, we go to the pool after breakfast, at 1030a. M. I head back to the room knowing check out is at 11a. M. As I'm trying to open my room door to gather the rest of my belongings. My key doesn't work. I go to the front desk to ask for help. I'm told my key probably doesn't work because "it's close to check out" (it's 10:30, check out is at 11:00, it's close to check out but it's NOT check out time! ) Cheryl states she fixed my key, I go to use it, and it still doesn't work. I go back to the desk again. Cheryl states my "key doesn't work because it is 25 minutes till check out time, " so she will just have to let me in my room. If I would of known that I wouldn't be allowed access to my room when it's "close" to check out time, I would of taken my belongings out sooner. How can she honestly deactivate our key because it's close to check out time. The hotel is nice, the set up is nice. It would be great for events if it wasn't micro managed by Cheryl. She made our entire stay uncomfortable. It wasn't worth the $140/one night stay. Cheryl N. Is awful at customer service and judging by the "I think, therefore I'm single" bumper sticker and also the picture of the single lady with stacks of money beside her bumper sticker that she had on the back of her Jeep Compass, she needs to find a job that only involves herself.
