We had to postpone our trip and we can't get a refund for the deposit. I e called, no answer. I've emailed, no response. Horrible customer service if you can even call it that! Definitely won't rebook here!

Love love love this place and my god, Melissa A is not only a gem but a true necessity for this place. She not only knows all but has the patience of a saint. This place is great! So stay here and skip the overrated strip!

Upon arriving we were harassed about masks being required, however all other guests were coming and going unmasked. Undisclosed deposits and the resort fee is a joke. The AC doesn’t work, the lobby staff is rude, you park down the road and there are no luggage carts for the long walk inside, even if you unload in front you still have to carry everything through the buildings and courtyard. Not handicap accessible. For our first night in Vegas this hotel and staff have put us off ever coming back.

Scam artist try calling there number it don't work way this is a party place don't expect any peacefulness there security is an hour away you have to park down the street and no rooms have a/c they loan you a walmart fan what a joke.

This property does not allow locals to stay at the Downtowner. Not only is this discriminatory it is NOWHERE in their policies or verbiage.
Made and paid for our reservation a week ago online directly from the Downtowner website. NOWHERE on there does it say that we (locals) can't stay at this property.
We've been sent to the Gold Spike by a lady named Sherrissa who told me that the Gold Spike is and always has been non smoking and non gaming. (One of the reason we booked there)
Now we are shoved off to another property where we have to pay for parking and struggle to even find a spot.
Shame on this ***hole of a "corporation"

Angie the hostess is amazing. This place is super friendly and they make amazing drinks. What? Amazing drinks? That’s right! They have a bar downstairs. Angie makes the best drinks. Her signature PB&J is delicious. I highly recommend you pay this place a visit. Cool and comfortable atmosphere and professional staff.

I felt soooo misled by their pictures. The pictures on the website only reflect the remodeled part of the place. The not remodeled part is in poor condition, and I was disgusted by this experience. I was in room 173, located in the 116 building across the street. Upon walking in, it smelled like urine. Straight up urine. I was hopeful that the smell would not follow to the room, but sure enough, my room had the SAME EXACT SMELL! The walls were so thin, you could hear everything happening in the other room. The other guests weren't even loud, the walls were just that thin. However, they had a dog that was barking, which I didn't realize pets were allowed. The room had stains on parts of the wall, a stained table, and just overall disappointment. I had been traveling for 12 hours, exhausted, and this just made matters worse. I was so horrified by this motel and experience, I checked out at 830ish. I showered and left and went to another hotel. Buyer beware: the pictures are misleading. I've attached pictures of the condition of the room.

Really clean innovative rooms. The center courtyard is a par 3 putting course! With white carpet in places for sand traps! One of a kind and extremely reasonable rates. Have an adventure at the Downtowner in Vegas.

Do not stay here. This place is nothing like the pictures. The staff was extremely unprofessional and impersonal. They were more concerned with helping the people at the bar then checking people in. They sent us across the street to a sketchy building with sketchy people hanging out front. The room was small and had absolutely no amenities. The floors were stained and hadn't been vacuumed, the bathroom flooring was bubbled and peeling up. The shower went from extremely hot to extremely cold. There was hair on the bed, in the shower and on the floor. The room had a beat up desk and broken lamps. The whole place smelled like musty damp water and should have been shut down long ago. There's a $100 deposit and a "resort" fee but I'm not sure for what. You'd honestly be better off staying in your car then this place. My wife and I left a few hours after checking in and the lady at the desk grabbed our room key and said deposit will be back in the morning and walked off… didn't bother to ask WHY we were leaving so soon.

My wife and I had a blast staying here! Nice little spot right next to Fremont Street. All the staff was great, especially Kayla. Felt very at home. We were treated amazing from the moment we arrived until we had to go. Highly recommend them.

Great customer service — only main issue was the room was too warm with the boiler heater only on so we asked to switch rooms and they moved us to the next building with AC.

The place was horrible. I would have booked somewhere else. We got a motel room across the street from bar. The building was disgusting. The pool didn't work and was filthy. The first thing you smelled was piss once you first walked in the building. It was leaking near stairs. The 2 rooms smelled like cigarettes and the AC smelled like cat piss. The bathroom smell was even worse. They were even going to give us a room on first floor where the piss odor is far more a nightmare. They upgraded us to Wylde building which was better but not worth it. It stunk like cigarettes in building when you first walked in. The bathroom door didn't even shut all the way. The AC wasn't doing great at all. It was stuffy and the shower head was wayyy low. I definitely will not be returning. I guess you get what you pay for. The lady I checked in with was ignorning me at first and gave a attitude which my husband also picked up on. She also tried to assist another person that was behind us when I was there before they walked in. I would have guessed it was a $25 per night motel. At least let it be clean and not smell like piss She kind of brushed it off like she already knew it smelled like it and didn't physically address the issue with piss smell.

Cons : poor cleaning (wiping dust is a foreign word), high (new) fairy,
But basically highly recommended due to price performance.

Could have entered the room an hour earlier, expectations were low. BUT, great, clean rooms!

Our room was clean, comfortable, attractive, spacious, and perfectly located!

We stayed there the weekend June 14 through 16 and it was disgustingly dirty the bathroom wall and floor were so so dirty if I get an infection on my feet they will hear from me they need to address their cleanliness ASAP.

Horrible motel, 2 days in a row and my room still dirty, beds havent been fixed, and no clean towels the dirty ones still in the bathroom floor.

If you’re looking for a laid back stay and are no fuss the Downtowner is the place to stay. I’ve stayed here several times and really enjoy the atmosphere, clean rooms, GOLF Coarse! and staff.

Newly remodeled. Very retro. This hotel/apt. Have really picked up they're game. They're little lounge is open 24hrs. I love this hotel. Oh yeah… miniture golf in the court yard.

Surprisingly loved this Motel. Just 2 blocks from the Freemont strip. But most importantly, the rooms were EXCELLENT. I enjoyed the comfortable beds and extra clean rooms.

Its good for that price. Its towards the east side which is a bit secluded from the main lit area. I was scared initially for 2 nights if someone will mob me. But it was okay but it looks scary.

For a quick, cheap pass through the city, The Downtowner is a decent stop. You can tell that the rooms are old, but well taken care of. It seemed recently renovated, and there were work crews actively helping to keep the place in order. The front desk staff was nice, so overall it was pretty good.

One of the lower priced hotels in the downtown. Because of this do not expect a luxury hotel. Place is clean, conveniently located and girl at front desk is great. Pool is not crowded and nice on a hot summer day. For the price I would recommend this hotel.

Great little hotel/motel just off of Fremont Street. Super clean, friendly/helpful staff at the 24 hour front desk, and VERY reasonably priced. Fremont Street can get very noisy, but you don’t hear any of it here. My room was very simple, but had a comfortable bed, large TV, and fully functioning AC. I had just spent the previous 4 days staying at Paris on the strip with friends, and was now on my own and wanted something much cheaper. This place exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended if you are budget-minded.

Great Motel. Clean room and well maintained. Close to West Fremont and main public transit routes — including to the airport.

Great location only few mins walk from downtown. Room was small in the other building next to the parking. It was quiet inside.

Its a good hotel, if you're looking for somewhere affordable for your trip. And you're just intending on crashing there, not hanging out… Its pretty well maintained… But. The building is quite old. Its been slightly updated… So expect a Vegas strip experience here… But over all for what it was I was happy with it!

Price/booking: booked via external booking platform, late check-in was possible (came in late at night and they were there, so super happy about that). Room: decent size, quality acceptable, a few items were broken. Almost no noise from outside which is good for a downtown location. Parking: Parking is across the street and is not covered or locked. Somewhat safe, I wouldn't park an expensive vehicle here. Resort fee: There is a daily resort fee required for parking and Wifi. Wifi is really bad and slow, but the parking makes up for it. Overall good experience because I paid almost nothing for the room and almost all other downtown locations were booked out. Glad I found something. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

It is enough to sleep if you have no high demands. The décor is totally obsolescence and it is not cleaned properly. Anyone who can overlook it benefits from the short walk to Fremont Street.

Never again. Only because I was bamboozled from the internet thinking I had a kitchen. Then the heat in my room don't work. I have been asking for some type resolution for three days. They came and fixed a tub water fixture for the hot/cold that never was a problem. I don't recommend them at all. As soon as my place is ready I'm out even if days left.

Great place to lay your head down and rest, but that's all. No ice machine in the building. You must go outside to get that. Good and very close to the down town area.

We have stayed here a few times and always had friendly people at the front desk. This hotel is a low price and is not top of the line. Some reviews have put this place down for condition but for the price it is a decent place. Location is very near Fremont street (one block from Fremont) so if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the downtown area than this is the place to stay.

Hotel is non-smoking, but room reaked of cigarette smoke. Aside from that issue, room was clean. It had a bed that was not bad. It had a bathroom and a shower. The room was small, had vinyl flooring and a window sized AC unit built into the wall. The AC unit was loud, but worked well. The location is close to Fremont by the container park. The neighborhood is not terrific, but is not scary. If you are looking for a no-frill, cost-effective room, this is a good choice.

This place is basic. If all you need is a clean, comfortable bed and bathroom for a cheap price, then you can't beat it with a stick. TV and 2 of the 4 lights in our room didn't work. A bit disappointing.

Nice comfortable motel, but a little run down. Feels as if it had a cheap renovation recently. Comfortable and clean however, and in a nice part of town. Overall, I would recommend.

Sleep motel modest with what is needed.

Staff was very nice and helpful! Only a little walk to Fremont so we didn't have to work about getting home after a few drinks. The beds were comfortable and the pillows. Very nice little room and neighbors weren't noisy. Best part it wasn't an arm and leg to stay the night. I would recommend.

We've stayed here a few times now. Great deal on very inexpensive motel rooms right down the way from all the Fremont Street action. Less than a 5 minute walk to the Fremont Street Experience. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable, and the linens and towels have always been fresh and clean. Check in staff are very friendly and helpful, and they offer free parking with your stay.

Well located and the amenities needed.

It's pretty bare bones. A room with a bed and that's about it. On the plus side, it's really clise to Fremont Street and the staff is really nice. My room door wouldn't lock when I got there and they couldn't move me because they were fully booked. Told the front desk guy and he not only got me a room at their sister property the Gold Spike, but he even helped me carry my bags there to check in. I can't remember his name, but super nice guy. I should have given them another star just for that.

Good compromise between the hotels of the strip and the hotels "Good walk".

Location is good. Right next to Fremont experience. Price is a s low as you can get. I wish it had microwave and fridge. But very cheap and the room was cleaned before I got in. They have housekeeping every day as well. It did take 5 days to get back deposit but overall was satisfactory stay. I will stay there again.

A classic motel, just off the Fremont Experience area. Renovated fairly recently, so the rooms are in reasonable condition. Room features are fairly stark, though, overall. There is city bus service nearby and you can walk to the Fremont area in a few minutes. The Fashion Outlet North is not far, either. You can usually find rooms here during convention dates, as well.

I stayed there for four nights when I first moved to Las Vegas before moving in with a friend. I went into the situation with LOW expectations. I knew this place would not be the Aria. I am sure other people had bad luck with rooms. But my room was decent. The floor seemed to cave in a little when entering the bathroom. Still, my room was relatively clean. One of my desk lamps didn't work but that's not a big deal. I was close to Fremont Street. And the parking lot was hassle free to get in and out of. I could see my car parked outside from my room. The staff was friendly, helpful, and had personality. The guests were a bit smoky (weed, cigs) and would chill out by the entrance. But that's not the fault of the hotel. It's definitely NOT a 5 star hotel. But I am giving it 5 stars for what it was in it's class range. For a dive hotel, my room was great and convenient.

They were clean yes but other than that don’t waste your money. They screwed us over with hidden fees. They also NEVER answer their phone if you have questions or anything. I was surprised the bathroom didn’t fall apart while we were there. The city center motel is way better than this ✌

For a week, it's OK. The rooms are clean.

Its clean and that's about it. Run down, noisy water pipes. No in-room amenities like iron or board or hair dryer (have to ask at front Desk for stuff). Was "updated" with new flooring and paint. Noisy AC but that's typical. The furniture is metal so its vandals resistant and cheap. Room is larger than other motels I've stayed on. If you don't mind overlooking infrastructure deficiencies, the bed is comfy and pillows are ok. Personally I like harder beds and pillows but these worked out ok.

The Downtowner is in a great location next to the old Las Vegas and Fremont. The rooms themselves, however, are … Not so great. The room had a very strong musky smell of rot. The toilet would run in the middle of the night or get stuck. The shower drain would not stay up, and the floor had hair on it. The blanket was thin, no quilt. No "do not disturb" sign, so could not prevent house keeping. No fridge or microwave. Card keys would not work the next day, for me or my neighbors. There are no bedbugs and the shower was clean though!

This motel was very clean. I would give it 5 stars just for that alone, but half my clothes went missing and all of my personal papers, including my birth certificate and social security information. Reported it to the front desk and all they did was shrug their shoulders. I had a melt down because of this and went to the hospital for approximately 20 days. Meanwhile they would not turn my property over to my son. Also the daily prices on the rooms fluctuated from $20-$90. Late in the evenings the unscrupulous type people hung out around the motel. The motel is situated in a very good spot on the lower end on Fremont Street, but the cleaning help will clean you out.

My husband and I were told to check in by 1 am. We arrived at 12:15 from a very long flight to the motel being closed! There was another couple there stating they needed to check in to. There was also another girl who needed to get in to her room but her room key did not work. We had to walk like 4-5 blocks down to a hotel that is connected with them to actually check in. WTF! What ever once we had our room key we walk in to our room and there is a horrible smell! Other then the smell, the room was neat, ac worked well, bathroom was clean. Thank god we only stayed there one night. It was ok they just need to air out the rooms and the receptionists to actually do there job and be at the front desk.

Nice little motel. Great area, and reasonable price. Don't expect anything fancy. But the front desk was very welcoming, the a/c was cold, and the pool was clean.

Location is perfect, steps away from good food, nightlife and entertainment. We were arriving a bit later then last checkin and the front desk receptionist was awesome enough to stay a little later for us. Clean and house keeping stopping by regularly. Great for the price, would definitely stay here again.

Basic, but clean and neat rooms. Stayed in the building across the main motel. When we reserved the room, we were told the lobby was open until 1am. However, we got in about midnight and no one was there. Had to go 4 or 5 blocks to the sister property to check in. Pretty inconvenient when you are using ride share and have luggage. Did have a problem with our key card one night, but maintenance seems to be available 24 hrs, and came to help us within 30 minutes or so. Overall satisfied. Can't beat the price, and very convenient to Fremont Street and the older downtown casinos.

Clean, very affordable and convenient. The only BIG drawback is the lack of 24 hour assistance on site. Our key cards stopped working and it turned what would be a quick fix into something more complicated. They do have it but it is through a sister property and the maintenance takes a while to get here. This is not maintenance's fault. They are very accommodating. It's unfair for them to have to manage 2 properties.

Moved here and two weeks later closet started flooding with water! All my stuff on floor got soaked. Rugs shoes tables etc. Inspection people came said they couldn't do nothing. I eventually moved out. Did not pay rent. And now I have an eviction because they didn't repair the problem or solve it. Do not move here! They will ruin your life;;;! : (

Booked the newly remodeled Wylde room for a week stay. Room was clean and nice but missing some amenities I like but I would recommend it if you're doing Las Vegas on a budget and I'd definitely stay again. Good value.

Looks like it was recently refurbished on the inside. Would have gotten 5 stars but the bed was on a slant for some reason and there was only hot water. Yes, even when you tried the cold faucet or the shower.

You get what you pay for. Small, no frills room but has ac. If you're across the street you have to walk to the office for ice, which is the only downside. Parking is free and there's also a pool.

Clean, comfy & bare bones room in the building across from the main motel. I did miss having a phone for a wake up call. Outstanding location close to Freemont St. & cafe's, clubs, and the downtown excitement. Security & parking was excellent!. If you're in Vegas for a few days & looking for a clean, secure place to relax & rest, this is your place. I'll surely be back again!

Super basic rooms nothing really fancy. They do have a small pool outside though. If you won't be spending much time in your room and just need a place to crash this is the place for that. It's pretty cheap. When I first went into the room there was a musky smell probably from the toilet leaking a bit of water on the floor. Once I turned the ac on I didn't smell anything anymore. The carpet was stained in a few spots, but the room in general seemed pretty clean. Wish the windows had light blocking curtains in addition to the blinds. The neighborhood seemed a bit shady but the police patrol it a lot. The staff were nice. Overall not a bad place to crash for the money near the downtown action. Checkout container park right around the corner if you're a tourist.

Ok before I begin you get what you pay for! Apparently if I want to leave a cash deposit I have to have EXACT amount including the taxes or I could not stay, the entrance to come in has a smell of urine that seem like that's the normal smell, my room. Had a different smell that only went away when I turn on the A/C but came back when it was off, the shower did not had cold water I tried (lol normally is the other way around) the cable for my television was cut like you could see the wires. I took pictures before I checked in my room just in case they were going to try and rip me off and say I did this etc.

I love front desk lady, Shanicka, (not sure how to spell las name) she is so helpful and gets you taken care of. SOME of the other staff member's make it seem like you are annoying them upon approaching the front desk.

The toilet was clogged (we had to call the plumber), electrical outlets are not working, attended by very disreputable person …
The only advantage is the location as it is located 200mt from Fremont street.

Do not stay here… the front desk are just rude. Rude. Rude. They have no customer service skills whatsoever. I have never ever walked into the place. Lets just say their first impression was their WORST. Have NO RESPECT for people. The tall, chunky, white/mexican dude with glasses an a buzzed head that occasionally works at the front changes the hotel policies whenever he wants. The day before I was told by a nice, pretty little mexican lady with long brown hair that they dont reserve the dailys but I would have to reserve the weekly an that was with that chunky white\mexican shave headed dude standing right behind her listening to everything she had explained to me. Then 2 days later the chunky white/mexican dude was working the front desk by himself an I had asked if I could reserve a weekly. He had told me that I couldnt reserve the weekly nor do they reserve daily. I knew he was full of crap. He had told me they were booked up for the night so I had to leave. Then a couple days later I had called to see if an important letter had come in their mailbox for me an the black lady who was working that night told me no and if there was a letter that had came, they would have sent it back to the sender because I wasnt a resident there. She also tried to tell me I had gave a key to a friend an they had gotten into the rm the day I had left and tried to stay the night.

The rooms were modest, yet clean and had all the amenities that you need at a very affordable price. The front desk staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. It was quiet, no noise complaints, and is in very close proximity to everything you need downtown! The only con I would add is that the cleaning staff were not very friendly!

My husband and I are Vegas locals, and stayed a night for a last minute anniversary night. The front desk staff were very professional, and kind. No issues checking in or out — very quick. The room was adorable, with a walk in closet. It's very quiet, and cozy. The parking was great. Overall, if you're looking for an affordable place to stay — I would definitely choose this place again. It was walking distance away from everything fun there is to do downtown.

A pretty good staff though in a tough or sometimes difficult neighborhood being where it is and Hotel in need to personalize better with guests then this could be a successful operation without the tough guy image you can't easily avoid.

The room was okay, good and clean, when we arrived was a welcome bad. It was Thanks Giving, and that lady had not the day. Unfriendly. In the morning was annother that was a friendly lady.

One of the few hotel rooms in downtown Vegas I know of that has windows you can actually open and enjoy the pleasant balmy Las Vegas night in Spring and Fall while you sleep. Staff was friendly and protective of the gritty demographic surrounding the property (mostly harmless indigents and hustlers) who try to loiter and ply their trade there at times. Very simple, comparatively inexpensive, basic and acceptably clean room accommodations, suitable if your not looking to impress anyone. I did have a plumbing problem of a stopped up bath tub (pipes are probably very old). I reported it to front desk before leaving my room one day. I found it corrected by the time I returned that night. No safe in room to store valuables while out for peace of mind, although I never found anything disturbed or missing. Another advantage is the walking proximity to the Fremont Experience and the new Container Park plaza.

NOT CLEAN! This place was the worst I have ever been in. I thought I was getting a clean smoke free room, what I ended up getting was a room that had the stench of an ash tray and bugs on the wall, not to mention the giant roach in the bathroom! … THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD AT ALL!

Customer service was really nice. We didn't have a problem with cockroaches until the last night we were there. Pool was too cold to swim in. And bed was too firm and pillows were rather flat. But price wise and customer service was pretty good. Price for us was average $50.00 per night for 2 people.

Decent place to stay, close to the Fremont experience! Price was excellent! Clean, had the warmest water for showering! Would stay there again for sure!

Stayed here for a week and have the time of my life. Mom & pop style motel clean & within walking distance of Fremont St. & Strip Bus. Just don't get too drunk & fall off the bus. U might end up with a sprained ankle & on crutches like me lol.

It's nice, I like it Cheap and nice. We paid 40$ for 1 night for 4 ppls. Has A/C Fridge and cable TV.
