Emergency trip to Vegas area 05/16/15-mom in ICU; Quadruple Bi-pass surgery after heart attack. Booked a room online at this hotel at 11:43pm. Upon check-in (attempted) realized I hadn't done transfer from savings to checking, so card declined because of required deposit. Tried to do transfer online but Chase was doing maintenance on site. Tried to give clerk $1000.00 cash just so I could lay head down. No go. Left at 12:30am to try to find a Chase atm nearby to do transfer. No luck. I was SO tired I was falling asleep. Ended up sleeping in lobby at hospital. Before falling asleep I called the hotel to let them know I wouldn't be able to make it back and was told I would be charged because the "cancellation threshold" expired 05/15/15 at 6pm! Explained I just made the reservation at 11:43pm 05/16/15. I was SO stressed and exhausted I was having a difficult time grasping what I was being told. The person on other end of phone was unmoved and kept repeating that I hadn't cancelled the reservation in time! That time being 30hrs BEFORE I even knew I'd even be sleeping anywhere than in my own bed because my mom would be having a massive heart attach and being rushed in for surgery! I'm on phone with Chase Bank filing a "stop payment dispute". I'll also be pursuing every other avenue to let potential customers know how customer unfriendly this establishment is. I just don't have $130.00 to give to Element Las Vegas Summerlin. I'll be racking up enough expense now that I'll be helping family with the likely long term recovery of my 89 yr old mother 4hrs from my home.
