Absolutely horrendous customer service at the Elko Starbucks in Red Lion!

Horrible server service… you literally wait 4 hours for a server to come and bring you a drink. No reason for that except the server busy flirting with men at the bar and ignoring female patrons.

Free play when joining rewards and great staff at the buffet.

Room is clean but staff is not friendly.

Don't stay here or support this business. They refuse to pay out the legally mandated Covid pay to their employees who get exposed while on the job and have to quarantine. And then when the employee rightfully opens an investigation, they fire the employee instead of paying them the money they legally have to pay… treat your employees like humans and maybe things will change.

Really nice time and great staff. Just don't forget to check to make sure the last person didn't leave an early alarm set. Lol.

The room was the best of our three hotels and 1/3 the price!
The executive king room had two lounge chairs. It was the most comfortable bed with great pillows and high quality sheets. It had two separate sink areas. The Cascadia soapery products are wonderful. It’s convenient to have a restaurant, Starbucks and casino in the same place. Loved the $20 free play money and even win $340!

More wash clothes in rooms. Other then that nothing. It is a very clean place. I would recommend.

False advertisement! Paid for an upgrade and received a 1970’s dump with human remains leftover. Woke up and went to parents room and totally upgraded. Walked back to my room and checked out the rooms being cleaned by housekeeping. All those rooms were upgraded.
Life lesson… don’t upgrade at Red Lion Hotel and don’t have Sheree help you (manager) … rude!

Real nice room, very spacious. Refrigerator, microwave, and a balcony. Priced the same as Motel 6 in Rigby, Idaho with 2x the amenities!

It is very clean, good food, and doesn't not choke out the non smokers!

Buffet is TRASH! Absolute TRASH! You can’t just call it a brunch buffet to and some fictional notion of class if the “food”, is old and cold. The only thing that was half-way warm is what looks to a fieble attempt at a McDonald’s breakfast sandwich. Granted 30 smackers for two people isn’t bad but for the same price I suppose I could have went to the neighborhood hill billy market and purchased their finest bottle of the hidden valleys and enjoyed 27$ as a fibrous salad.

I highly recommend the Aspen steakhouse on a day when they offer full service. I am a frequent player and have been visiting the lion for 11 years. They have a great selection of games and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend visiting if you are near as the casino is the best in town.

Arrived at the hotel early and our room wasn't ready. The front desk clerk let us swim in the pool until it was. After a long drive to get there, that was amazing! I appreciated that gesture so much! Rooms are nice and clean. Food at restaurants and in buffet is fantastic!

We are at the buffet restaurant. It was absolutely horrible. We paid $20 for salad and meat per person. No vegetables, no starch, no rolls butter. If you are going to have buffet, you should have buffet Waitress was horrible my husband still gave 20 percent tip. I would of given $1. She never came back once and I had to keep asking for more ice tea n water. Plus she overcharged us for something we never ordered. Will never go back again. Would not recommend.

Pro's, cheap, large rooms, older but somewhat clean. Con's, this place got pretty good ratings so I thought I would give it a try. If you are a chain smoking gambler I guess it would be paradise. I fortunately do not smoke, this whole establishment smells like stale cigarettes. I got a no smoking room, it smelled like cigarettes really bad, seemed like the hotel staff tried to mask the smell with a perfumed product which just made things worse, after spending time in the suite, I got a terrible headache from the odors. A/C units took forever to cool the rooms down. Toilet tank took 15 minutes to fill. Restaurants in casino had decent food, but again, cigarette smoke ruined the experience for me. I guess I have only spent time in smoke free areas in upper scale casinos. Guess if smoke doesn't bother you, this place wouldn't be a bad place, but for those few of us whom have allergies, it is as miserable experience. This day and age, smoke free establishments are the norm and are taking over for many reasons, mostly health reasons. Hopefully in the future, this casino/hotel will update it's rooms and get with the times and at least make the part of the casino and all of the eating areas 100% smoke free as well as the rooms. Sorry, but it's a disgusting habit.

Clean, fresh, and relaxing spot to tuck in when traveling on I-80, with a cozy dine-in restaurant and full bar (Aspen's). The food was incredible! Room was nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable. They also allow pets and service animals so this is a great place to stop if you are traveling with your pet. Clean outdoor pool located in back of the hotel. Will definitely stay here again!

The Aspen restaurant had a great bar and happy hour. The bartender was fun and very friendly. The casino itself is pretty small, but both my friend and I ended up winning about 4x what we started with playing slots. Haven't been to any other places in Elko, but I imagine this is the best place for a reception.

Really clean room. I liked the Saturday night buffet. About $18, probably pricey for Elko, but the prime rib was the best I've had in a long time. Worth it. Cool live band was playing and I could kind of hear it from my dinner table. I played blackjack for while watching the band play classic rock hits. Fun place. It was like Vegas in 1982. Very friendly front desk team and in the buffet. Chef came out to chat. The prime rib and fried shrimp were great. The salad bar was fresh, but very limited.

Excellent service both our waitress and the guy behind the counter of the buffet. My husband has food allergies one is meat and a other is fruit and sugar combined. He he has fruit he has to wait 6 hours before he can have any thing with sugar in it. Most of the time the fish dishes are prepared with some kind of citrus. The buffet guy offered to cook some fish for him with out the citrus just salt and pepper in a little butter. The food was very good. In Elko we have not found any other places that have salad bars. This place has a nice one.

This place is a great place to stay in Elko. I’m always just passing through, and this hotel beats them all. It’s cheap, clean, and family friendly. You get a choice of smoking or non-smoking rooms. The beds are comfy and well stocked. The TV is a 55”, so much bigger than most other hotels. They have LOTS of outlets and USB hubs, which is abnormal and great compared to most hotels. It’s super close to the freeway for easy and quick access. It’s not far from most major stores and gas stations in town. You don’t have to venture through town just to get here. The casino is nice and the staff is very friendly. I will be staying here again! You should consider it!

Room was clean, well appointed, and comfortable, but beginning to show it's age. Tile in the shower enclosure is missing grout, and beginning to buckle. Be forewarned, if you are over 5'6", you are going to have a difficult time getting an adequate shower, as the shower head is quite low. Biggest problem by far however, is the customer service. Their computer system was down upon check out. Annoying, but it happens. The issue I had was with the manager unable to print off a receipt, and completely unapologetic about it. Even standoffish about it when I asked if corporate would be able to provide one. I was told it would be at the very least "next week sometime. "

Great room rate. Clean room. The room was spacious. It had two bathroom sinks, refrigerator, and a microwave. Very large, at least a 60 inch, TV in the room. Had the dinner and breakfast buffets. Excellent food at reasonable prices.

Great customer service, they had my reservation for a room ready as I walked in the door. And someone else made my reservation. Then they upgraded me to a room right near my parked truck. Add to it the coupons for so many things from free drink to free gamble start, discount on the food… and every staff member is friendly and smiling.

I'm not a gambler or anything, so I can't say anything on that, but I was someone who got snowed into staying at the hotel. The rooms were actually rather nice. Although, when you get a room that is clear across from the check-in counter, it can be a pain. The food was good, made well, and the staff were pleasant. The drinks were a bit over priced and smaller than advertised. (see pic) Lastly, house keeping needs to learn to wait for an all clear before taking it uoon themselves to just come right in.

We had a higher expectation from the reviews and photos presented online. This is suppose to be a 3 Stat hotel. When we arrived the first room we were placed smelled really bad, had dried urine on the toilet seat, mystery white goo on the door, faucet, and toilet handles, mold in the shower, and had stains all over the carpet. When I called up to the front desk to request a different room the woman we spoke with was curt and seemed a bit put off by what we were requesting. Not very customer friendly. I walk down there and was given another room key with not so much as an apology from her. I asked if this room would be clean and was told that it should be. I didn’t care much for her demeanor so I asked to have the manager come down and look at the room. Ellen arrived a few moments later. Very pleasant and seem genuinely apologetic as did her Entourage. (The other night clerk and security). The new “clean room” was not much of and improvement. It also smelled bad, this time of pet urine, was not the at the clean level I would expect from this chain, and had stains on the floor as well. There was a used washcloth in the shower and the furniture and decor is really deteriorated. I feel like they should have paid us to stay here if for nothing else than to bring these issues to the attention of the management as it seems they are not aware of how bad these rooms are.

I've been going to the Red Lion off and on for 24 years friendly staff in all areas good food not hard on the budget & prime location. The rooms are accessible to one and all always clean Wi-Fi lots of TV channels pet friendly. And the gift shop has quite a few fun things from t-shirts to keychains to jewelry watches and then some. There's a good variety of games on the gaming floor where other casinos in town have taken out the games I play the most popular games lots of people not happy about that the Red Lion still has them its also updated and modern for the town. Arcade for the younger set. Have stayed many times by myself so things that are important to me are for example when you take your dogs out at night it's well lit and you feel safe never had an issue.

Their arcade is awesome. A little cramped on the gaming floor on the east side of the building, but all things considering, it's a nice casino. Their restaurants are good and the staff is friendly.

We went to a work party & were in a banquet room. Food was really good. Only complaint was there was no music. They said they were having issues.

The food was good don't get me wrong but the service not the best… I was walking by as people we're getting stuff from the buffet and the guy who cleans it up rudely says "it's closed now" slams his tray on the counter… very unprofessional and so impersonal. And the cashier was rushing us out not very friendly.

Good food and service. Not too loud in the restaurants, especially for a Casino. Locals frequent, it's a great place for relatives to stay. Rooms clean, front desk helpful, bartenders excellent.

Stoped in just to eat for dinner. Tried the buffet. Food was well prepared. Staff was frendly although a tad slow, but not terrible. Watch out for small bones in the chicken, could have been cut better. The 1/2 baked potatoes were a major let down. Way over cooked. The ribs were very good and moist. Overall a very good selection and worth a visit. Worth the price.

For what it's worth, I simply stopped by to grab Starbucks. Service was great. Also played on two slots while I was there and made some money. Can't rate a casino on whether or not you win, but I did win. The place seemed nice enough and I'd stop by on my way through again.

Comfortable beds and large rooms. Everything was clean. Was surprisingly quiet considering it's also a casino. The breakfast voucher at the "coffee garden" restaurant located in the casino is definitely worth cashing in on if you get it. The only real negative is the smell of cigarette smoke. Which is present in the casino and light but noticeable in the hallways, but fortunately not at all noticeable in the actual room. Also they have a full service starbucks which made great drinks. I'd be happy to stay again if I'm in the area.

The red lion is a place of happiness. I felt as I could express myself as if I were at my own home. I would recommend this to anyone. Though the Starbucks does not accept gift cards which I am thoroughly mad at.

Very nice inside the casino, the rooms are also very, very nice! Probably on the top of the list for nicest rooms to stay in! Pretty good & friendly staff. The drink servers need to step it up a little, if its not a busy popular day when your in there (Fri-Sun) good luck waiting for them to come by so you can get a drink! I've sat and played anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour playing slot machines and still no one came around asking if I needed a drink. But overall its probably the best casino that my family, & I like to go to, to play & "loose" our $$ lol.

Stopped to have breakfast at the cafe. Service was great, food was good. Food could've been great if the entire place didn't reak of cigarettes. I'm an ex smoker and it was gross to tolerate.

I was there cashing my check. Asked about the cash and win and they were able to get me a new card along with a $5 free play and free beer token. All this to go with an entry in the drawing for $250. I couldn't go to the drawing as you have to be there in person to collect winnings. Did all this in a matter of 10 minutes and the staff was so nice and helpful. I'll be continuing to cash my check there and hopefully participate in the drawing next time :)

A hotel with 3 floors, the beds are comfortable in the higher class rooms and the rooms are clean. There isn't much sugar for coffee in rooms so bring some. The machines don't pay out much so limit your playing. Dont eat at the restraunt unless your not wanting to get in the car, the wait staff on every visit to this establishment only passes by once so getting a refill is impossible. Reccommend parking in back for shade.

Great food at their 24 hour restaurant, with helpful, friendly staff. Enjoyed the arcade area with well maintained pinball machines.

We thought this place was a little pricey at firs, but once we got to our room, we could see that it was well worth the money! It was really nice, and so clean! I never use those little coffee pots in hotels, because they just don't seem clean, I had no problem using this one, the whole place was really clean. The casino was fun, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was smokey, but not as bad as some I've been to. This was or first time in Elko, and we are ready to go back!

Just about perfect for us. Great service, friendly staff, large clean room for a fair price. My only complaint is the Wi-Fi. While it's free, it's horribly slow. Had to walk to the McDonald's next door to send an email with a 1mb attachment.

Had a great time! When I needed help they had a slot machine attendant who was so kind. She even went out of her way to help me obtain a player's card. Her name was Jackie Wilcox. She made my time there a whole lot more relaxed than if I'd have to have figured out everything on my own.

It was clean and had free Wi-Fi which is nice. We stopped in the Starbucks there to get some caffeine for our drive. Downside is that around the slot machines it smells heavily of smoke.

Great service, friendly staff and a casino as a bonus. Rooms are very clean, nice and accommodating. Bed is comfortable. This is my second stay here and won't be my last.

The room was clean and really nice. The morning buffet was amazing and the service while eating was spectacular! Even if you still had half a cup, they still asked to refill your coffee everytime they passed. Again, great service and a really nice room.

Stayed overnight in a family suite for $108. Very clean and well appointed. Staff was courteous. A great value. Casino is big enough to stay fun but not so big you get lost. Blackjack dealers and pit bosses were professional but personable. Only downside is the pool is outdoors and open seasonally, but you can use the indoor pool at their sister property across the street. We'd stay again!

Played craps with some 1st timers. Staff and other guests were patient and helpful with them. Prompt drink service.

Had the executive sweet. Stayed overnight first business hotel was comfortable rooms was excellent but the smell of cigarette smoke was in almost everything.

The room was spacious and great for our family. The check-in was quick and easy with friendly staff everywhere. The only problem was the room was too hot at night and we couldn't get it to cool down with out opening the window. Thanks!

This was an ok hotel. Fairly clean. However, you guys have always had horrible Wi-Fi, and now the fact that you're charging money for it. Ridiculous. Find another way to make money because I doubt very much you'll make any from this.

I have been going to Elko every year since I was a young boy. We always stayed at the Red Lion. In the last few years the new owners have made a ton of great improvements, I love the new restaurant Aspens. The coffee shop has some great meals at pretty good prices. Service always seems to be pretty darn good. The rooms are clean, well appointed, comfy and spacious. I look forward to going to Elko, staying at the Red Lion and getting out of the rat race.

My husband took me to Red Lion to celebrate an early Valentines. The reservation clerk put us in a room at the far end of the building. I asked him to put us close to the casino floor because I am crippled and it hurts me a lot to walk. He said he was not allowed to give me a room closer unless we paid more. So we walked to our room and I had to rest 1 1/2 hours before I could try to walk back to the casino floor. My husband went and got bellhop cart and told me to stand on it and he pushed me back to the casino while I stood on it. It was quite humiliating to watch people laugh and point. I was very disappointed in Red Lion.

The scum who work in the diner are disgusting. I actually saw one of the male workers pick his nose and handle what looked like take-out boxes for food. This place is out of control. A word to the owners. I will contact the ACLU the next time one of your diner workers ever tries to stare me down again. He sat there with one of the other workers laughing because I'm disabled. You better talk to your dining staff or the next time I will call my attorney. Do you understand.

The casino experience was what my boyfriend and I disliked the most. We went there for new years eve. When getting our players cards there was only one person working to handle the entire casino. The process took about 15 minutes and there was only one person in front of us. When we sat at the bar and both put $40 in the machine we were told we HAD to play max credits to get our drinks comp'ed. We spent about $800 there and our awards came to a little over a dollar each. The locals came and sat at the bar and took up machines and saved spots whether they were gambling or not. The music was okay. Some songs the guys sang great. Others were literally like painful karaoke. They did offer free champagne and party hats which was nice. Just an overall bad experience. We will not go back. The rooms are nice enough. Not too much to complain about there. The towels weren't as nice as I like. The coffee maker did not work and there was only decaf in the room anyway. The rooms overall were good though.

Scamsino. With established collusion. No real games. Didn't think roaches could survive in the high desert but Elko has them all over town. 30years ago elko might have been a nice place to spend a weekend, it's dead jim. the poker room is ran upon collusion. Dealers, dealers husbands/wives/fathers, etc. i entered the poker tounry on Sunday. Was seated at a table with two dealers and their two husbands and one father of the dealers fathers also (these dealers dealt there daily) That was bad, but then to have the family members of these dealers also at this same table, this was only a 20 player tourny! Per table at least 3/10 players were family or red lion employees. collusion at a poker game is common, but to have the staff so obviously involved to this level is sickening. in the cash game an odd colored cards were dealt (one red one brown) to a player. No redeal, or reshuffle! I called for one but it was ignored by the poker room "manager". The dealer this is red lions only poker room outside vegas. It is a mess. robbie this poker room "manager" is also a crook. Working with these dealers to insure the best table seating, player reads etc.

I've been staying here for a few weeks now (working in the area during the week). My room is always clean, I've not stayed here over a weekend, but during the week its pretty quiet in the rooms part of the hotel. The casino is ok. Most of the card dealers are pretty nice. A couple of them, not so much. I play black jack allot, and I usually break even, one a little here and there. The restaurants are average. The servers are sometimes very slow, but most are friendly. I always eat the buffet, so I'm not sure how the food from the menu is. Buffet is not bad. Mexican food night is actually really good. I'll be here for about 90 days. I'll post again after I leave for good.

I am a transplant from South Carolina and now live in Elko. While I can't comment on the rooms, I can say that the food here is not bad for what you pay for it. The steak house is great and the seafood buffet with crab legs on Friday night is pretty good as well. There are more exclusive places to dine in town but you will pay more for the privilege. They also, very often, have free live entertainment. I've never had a bad time when I've gone here. Over all a good dining and entertainment value.
