Room was not clean. Sheets had not been changed. Stayed there with a friend. When I pulled back my sheets there was hair in the bed period when my friend pulled back her sheets there was sand and a flea that jumped. When we told the front desk they said they had no other rooms and gave us some clean sheets. The place did not fill up so I'm not sure why they had no other rooms available. If we had not been so tired we would not have stayed. We left quickly.

This motel was perfect location and convenient to get back on the roads. The rooms are not the updated ones that motel 6 has but overall everything was clean and exactly what I needed to get a good nights sleep. And for such a cheap stay, I can’t complain about anything!

The room was very old, but the bathroom was somewhat updated. The towels just didn't work for me. The bed was definitely on its way out. The TV didn't work plus who still owns tube TVs? The AC worked really well. The staff at the front desk was nice. Its in a good location just off the Hwy. For the price I would stay there again.

The first non-smoking room had a dirty ashtray and reeked of cigarette smoke. The desk guy was nice and moved me to another room. The second room just smelled funky/damp. The pool was broken. The deadbolt wouldn't turn unless I lifted the door by the handle to shift where the bolt hit. I reported the deadbolt when I left and they said they'd fix it. Room was clean, I guess; it just smelled old/damp. They ARE in the process of updating rooms, so will probably get better.

Terrible cleanliness standards. Carpet was clearly not vacuumed, bathroom floor needed to be swept and mopped. There was a hair on the sheets. Sheets were put on inside out. There is a big pile of crumbs on the nightstand. Very disappointing.

I arrived just after 5:00 PM to check into my room, only to be told that my room was not ready? This was not what I wanted to hear after a very long day of business travel. I was told by the front desk clerk (nice & apologetic) that she would call me when my room was ready. I was contacted @ an hour later and returned to get my room. As soon as I walked in, my non-smoking room smelled like smoke and had an ashtray sitting out on the dresser? The bathroom floor was wet, so I put a towel down to dry it off. The towel came back brown, clearly showing that the floor was dirty. I stay in Motel 6's on a regular basis, as I travel often for business. I was very disappointed with your Elko location and would not book a room there again.

Sad but True Tom Bodett would be disappointed with this Motel 6. After packing some long hours on the road as I headed on my next adventure, Reno, NV, even the savviest traveler has to rest. When I checked in, I couldn’t believe that they had the nerve to rent out this room. Here’s what I found: Badly stained carpet. It looked as if the giant from Jack and Beanstalk had walked around the room. No matter how old your building may be, you still need to keep it up and have some kind of pride about the place. Cold air poured into the room when I pumped up the heat. (The temperature had dropped that night) This is why I travel with my own set of blankets and at times a sleeping bag. You never know. Hair in the bed. Bed spread with burn holes in it. I didn’t dare use the shower because it looked a little shady. I know you're asking, “Why didn’t you leave? ” Because it was very late and miles away before I would find another town. The better hotels were full in the area. During check-out I told the manager about the carpet. He said they finally got the approval to put hardwood flooring in all the rooms. He also said that the night clerk should have told the guests that the cooling system could not be changed and that space heaters were available. Nope-I didn’t get that message. Overall: Don’t leave the light on with this Motel 6.

The hotel is filthy. Urine and pooop (had to misspell this word so it would be allowed) on and around the toilet. Hair everywhere! Not mine! Beds were dirty. I could not let my family stay here! Also there is caution tape everywhere due to safety hazards. What a let down! … the staff did offer a refund…

My non-smoking room was spotless! The Queen bed was very comfortable and the shower was wonderful. The young lady at the front desk was friendly and very helpful, providing an address for Star Hotel where I wanted to have dinner. Crystal was super helpful on the phone two days earlier helping straighten the res I had made online! I would definitely stay her if I come this way again!

It's cheap and they allow pets without a fee. No frills. No free Wi-Fi. Bed was passable — for one night it did the job. The room attempted to be clean, but the bathroom have me the creeps. But it was only one night, so whatever. However, it was quiet, the staff was crazy friendly and courteous, and it was located in a central area that was surrounded by other businesses, restaurants and hotels. If you are passing through and want a no frills, cheap room this definitely hits the spot.

The night checkin guy was helpful and friendly. But … the outside side of the bed was caved in. Luckily, I was alone and could climb to higher, though not much better, ground. The A/C was out. Thankfully it was only May. July would have been brutal. As usual for Motel 6 across the country, the internet sucked. On and off, and I needed to sign in each time. Other hotels/motels manage this, why can't Motel 6? I'd gladly pay more if it was reliable. The nice guy at the desk refunded my money. He also said they were due for a remodel and hoped they'd solve 5. But with it being chain-wide, I won't hold my breath.

Holy cow, where do I begin. I went there with my wife and we checked in about 3 in the morning only to bring all of our stuff up there and then find a couple hairs in the shower. One was on the wall and one was on the shower curtain both two different types of hair. Now, nobody likes to see a hair anywhere but when you see two in one place of two different people… That's a big problem. Feeling that the ground was probably very dirty I put a towel on the floor and walked over to the bed so that I can get onto the bed without stepping on the floor and when I looked underneath it was extremely dirty just from walking with it a few feet. I found this to be disgusting. Next, I pulled the covers down and found a couple more hairs on the bed. I just want to call the front desk and let them know that I was coming up for a refund and to return the key. We got out of Dodge and drove another 45 minutes where he pulled off the side of the road and slept for about 2 hours in the car before the sun came up. Do not go to this hotel.

The sink faucet sprays so fine that water flies everywhere and I get wet when I try to wash my hands etc. I've never seen a faucet with an aerator that is so annoying. Please stand in front of a sink and see what I mean. I like staying at Motel 6 but your sink faucet is one of the most inconvenient, annoying thing I have ever experienced at a motel.

The staff was incredibly helpful. Crystal and Nick were extra curious, fast and efficient. One of the best Motel 6 experiences I've had in awhile.

The first room we were given had no heat. Moved to another room and that room was absolutely filthy. The toilet & sink had not been scrubbed in a very long time. It didn't look like it had been vacuumed either. There was debris all over the floor. We asked for another room (3rd room). That room still had the previous tenants trash in the bathroom trash can. I declined to assume it had not been cleaned either. The girl in the office had offered a portable heater and we went back to the original room that had no heat as that seemed to be the cleanest of the three but still could have used some more effort (mainly under the rim of the toilet bowl). I understand that the hotel is old and outdated but that doesn't mean it cannot be clean. There is some serious need for some quality control after the rooms are supposedly "cleaned". I doubt I will ever be in Elko NV ever again but if I am you can be assured I will NOT stay at your motel.

The clerk who checked me in was very friendly. I stay with you all because I travel with my dog and you are pet friendly. The cleanest Motel 6 I've stayed in was in Wells, NV; the most disgusting was in Las Vegas. This room was clean except for the bathroom. There was hair in the shower on the floor and on the soap shelf. Crud on the edge of the sink and the sink bowl was dirty. I put the shower rug in the shower to stand on and I cleaned the sink and counter before using them. Perhaps the cleaning person got distracted and forgot the bathroom.

Always dog friendly and lots of discounts are offered. Room was clean, beds comfy and it was off the main road. No loud trucks to rock you to sleep or keep you awake. Staff was friendly and helpful with local diners and directions.

Overall good experience with Motel 6 staff and cost of room. Being able to have pets was a big plus. However, my room could have been more clean. To be specific there were hairs, toothpaste, soap/water stains, etc on the restroom sink. Having hairs laying around the drinking cups, etc was a little rough to handle. The floors were stained with soda pop, or whatever, and finally I was disappointed to learn there was no laundry room which was desperately needed at the time. Having said all that, I'm just trying to be accurate and I would return as a guest.

Overall stay was good. But. I checked in and the host mentioned I was the only guest checking in that evening. When I got into my room I called and let the host know the TV Remote didn't work. He said he didn't have another remote to give me. Thought it was strange that with so many open rooms he couldn't go grab a working remote out of one of the rooms. Also you need to add mini refrigerators in the rooms at that location.

Very cold room, heat all the way up. Lukewarm water. No complimentaries in room. No coffee, no fridge, no microwave in room. No coffee in front office. Vending machines broken. Very thin blankets on short bed. You get what you pay for. However, the room gets an A Plus for cleanliness.

Your desk clerk was the best. The room was fine. The shower curtain was a bit off putting. 5 of the 12 shower curtain hooks were missing and/or torn out and not functional. I was in I've stayed with you many times and continue as a loyal customer.

Beds suck! But the room was nice and clean. No bugs at all (bed bugs). I always look before I lay on it. Stayed several times a year.

We stayed there on our way to Ca. For an emergency situation so we were tired and needed some rest. The bed was way too small for my 6'3 husband and myself. Room 107. We we're not handicapped to be put in this room. The guy at the front desk was not friendly at all and didn't have any information as to how the roads were beyond Elko heading west. (I work at a hotel and keep up to date on road conditions when I have guests traveling) On our return to Wyoming, we decided to intentionally stay with you again thinking the first night was a fluke and the front desk manager was having a bad night. The lady at the desk was very pleasant and was more than happy to help. I requested a room with two beds as we had my elderly father with us on our return trip. When getting back to the room after picking up dinner, my dad informed me of the dog hair still in the bed sheets that was made, black dog hair on white sheets totally noticeable. Room 149 Went to the front and asked to be moved. She moved us directly next door only to find food on the floor and a shower that had so much build up and dark colored soap scum. Room 150. I asked to be moved again. She and I went to check out another room together only to find the same soap scum build up that came off on your hand when you wiped it she did that herself room 106. She then proceeded to give me a coupon for a free night stay.

Being that this was a very affordable price you always have your reservations as to why. You obviously are gonna think filth and unprofessional. But it was the exact opposite. The room was clean and everything worked correctly. I had read that this particular location had heaters that didn't work and hot water that ran cold. Again quite the opposite. It was 9 degrees out and the heater worked amazing and give the water about a minute to run and the shower was nice and hot. The best part of the stay was the woman at the front desk. Crystal Kelley was awesome. She answered any questions we had positively and was very professional. Even as we were settling in to our room she called the room to make sure everything was okay. She went above and beyond compared to the other 3 motels I stayed at the previous 3 nights on my cross country road trip. You definitely need more like her.

No coffee machine, no hairdryer. Box springs were dirty and stained. Bathroom floors and baseboards were dirty and look like they hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Sink was chipped. Carpet was barely vacuumed in only places you could see. Overall, we will not be staying there again. Office staff very cordial though.

A huge chemical spill had us stranded in Elko for so long we had no choice bit to stay the night there. We had not budgeted for a hotel stay trip but The Motel 6 took us in at an incredible price! The manager was so kind and gave us all the info we needed so we could monitor the spill and take alternate roads home if we needed to.

The room was fine, pretty much what we would expect from a Motel 6. It was clean and the bed was comfy enough. However, we had no heat and it was 36 degrees outside. We didn't realize the heat didn't work until we were already settled in and too tired to get up and move rooms. When we mentioned it to the checkout person the next morning, he didn't seem surprised and told us that the rooms were being serviced for AC and heat and that our room hadn't been serviced yet, therefore the heat wouldn't work. It was incredibly frustrating to be put into a room when it was already known that it wouldn't be fully serviceable. It feels like we were knowingly ripped off. We would have slept quite comfortably aside from how cold our room was.

Very friendly front desk staff. Good location near the I-40 as well as close to both restaurants and gas stations. Mattresses could stand to be much firmer. Rooms also need to be updated. I travel by car a lot, so it's always appreciated to find a motel that can handle walk-ins. Would it be possible to include bug zappers around the motel? Flies around Elko are extremely pesky.

Horrible. Heater didn't work hot water didn't work I couldn't even take a shower before check-out. Phones didn't work. When I went to the front desk I spoke to the GM Nicholas Lowe and he said because u stayed all night I could get a refund. And I stressed the issue that me and my family need to take shower before we get on the freeway. He said because I stayed all night there's nothing he could do. I then stated how I'm a front desk employee for the Marriott and we always give customer satisfaction and he then said well since you know that you can be taking advantage of the customer satisfaction. I then said how could I take advantage of having no hot water when you know that one of your water pipes went out how could I lie about a situation that you are aware of. It was an horrible experience. Even tho he knew their pipes went out and they actually hired a guy who was out on the property working on it smh. So I called cooperate and they helped me with my issue very professional I do thank them a lot. Unfortunately I didn't still have to go pay 198$ at another hotel just so my family can shower. Front desk is unprofessional they need training they are not respecting the company it self. Good luck with this location! I wish I could give 0 stars.

My room was very clean and everything worked beautifully. It was warm which was great cause it had just turned cold the night before. The desk people were friendly and helpful. I would recommend you.

Great front desk staff, (keiasha) I believe. Upon arrival the room we had been given was not cleaned and made up. But staff quickly gave us another… Suggest that the grass in back of be kept as green and inviting as front. Also If you are allowing pets which is great service, I would suggest floors be tile or simulated hardwood like the Wells property. Would be much easier for you all to clean, AND less likely to hold pet smells.

It's a decent motel to stay at but not much to look at. They could spruce it up a bit. It was inexpensive for us because we have 2 dogs.

Office staff pleasant, helpful. Room well-located, adequate, clean. The location near a shopping center and restaurants was good. A good price, important to retirees. All-in-all, a place to visit again.

We stayed in two other Motel 6 accommodations in the same week, we were really impressed how clean and comfortable the rooms were. The staff was really nice. But in this motel the guy at the front desk was not so nice. Everything smelled a little bit. After we got our room, we saw that the floor was extremely dirty, nobody cleaned behind the beds and there were lots of bugs. And not the nice sort of. You don't want to sleep with them. We left the room and didn't get any refound or another nice an clean room.

OK so it's a mixed review the customer service was awesome. The rooms were in need of renovation. We got in at 7am and they made it possible to get us in a room unfortunately it was a very smelly dirty room. No soon did I mention it to front desk when they changed our room and even gave us a voucher for another stay in any other Motel 6. As far as luxury no there was none but we had everything that was needed for us to have a great time in Elko Nevada:) … hopefully they get the renovation done soon as we plan to come next year.

This was the WORST motel experience I've ever experienced. We booked our 2 rooms via phone with Rebecca. Upon arrival, Imani, the night clerk, had a hard time finding our reservation, and getting us the rooms we had so clearly requested and booked. Imani told us Rebecca was getting fired the next day because of her repeated mess-ups, so we were sympathetic and glad when Imani fixed it. It was midnight at this point. 1 room was fine. The other room was so dirty! The floor had liquid tobacco spilled on it, which is TOXIC to pets, and we had 2. When my husband wiped it up, so much dirt came with it. He chatted with Imani in the office, who offered another room. However, it was worse than the current room, so we stayed. Imani told us we'd get a partial refund on the problem room. We slept uneasy, afraid of what communicable disease we may pick up. My mom and brother were fine in their room. While packing the car, my mom twisted her ankle in a pothole in the parking lot, leaving her face down on the ground. The staff offered to call 911 for an ambulance, but mom declined. We wanted to do a formal incident report before we left, in case my mom needed to seek medical attention later. However, Darla, the relief manager did not do so. She said she would do it later, but would not give us any written copy of any report. Finally, my mom pressed the issue and Darla typed up the incident and gave us a copy.

For the price this hotel was very nice the staff was excellent and the check-in and check-out was quick.

Room was pretty old looking. TV was from the 90s. But it was ok to sleep in for a night since I was on a long road trip.

Motel 6 in elko Nevada. The room was horrible, old school like 13in tv, no shampoo in shower, got in late like 1am, room was freezing, took 3 hours to be warm enough for me to even fall asleep. Sheets had multiple burn holes in them even though it was supposed to be a "nonsmoking" room.

The room and bathroom was very clean, and the bed was clean and comfortable but there was no heat in the room and the temp fell dramatically and I froze all night long.

It was okay, but why don't any of the showers work at Motel 6? Same thing at the Motel 6 in Cheyenne where I stayed the night before. Barely a trickle from the shower. I really needed one, but I couldn't have it. A plastic squirt gun would have given me more water and pressure.

The location is great and all of the folks who work there are warm, welcoming and very helpful. However, I do think it's time for some renovations. The carpeting and beds need to be replaced. I stay at this motel every year on my way to and from CA. I think that I have been there 9 years in a row and nothing appears to have been upgraded.

The rooms were nice, the staff was kind (although the girl knew NOTHING about the town of Elko) and we were well rested. The Wi-Fi, which was an extra $3, did not work and the place was under renovations, so there was a lot of construction stuff parked in the lot.

I have stayed in a number of Motel 6s — mainly because of their good price and that they are pet-friendly (& you can find one almost anywhere). I traveled to and from CO from OR and CA and stayed in Motel 6s all the way. I was especially impressed with the courtesy of the desk staff @ the Motel 6 in Elko, NV. They made sure I got a 1st floor, non-smoking room (even though they were booked @ the time of my call). They were extremely efficient and friendly, as were all the other guests I encountered coming and going from the Motel. My only complaint was that the pool was not yet open — even though it was mid-June and the temperatures were very warm.

The staff was very accommodating. The room heater was rather loud. For the price, it's a great deal. The room was clean and everything worked. A bit run down and could use updating, however then the price would be higher.

Stayed here in Aug. '12 and it was filthy. The carpets were extremely stained, the bathroom had hair, mildew, and cracks in the shower. Everything about this room was revolting. We got in late at night and didn't see the extent of the poor conditions until it was light the next day. I will add that we were traveling with a dog and maybe have been put in a "pet room" but I would not recommend this motel at all.

Can't expect high end furnishings at any Motel 6 but the service here was excellent. Prompt, polite, and efficient. Room was clean and very affordable. Thermostat could use a once over. Didn't seem to have any setting except: "hot furnace. ".
