Not one to typically leave reviews, but the atrocious customer service leaves me with the obligation. This past Saturday there was a rain storm and the hotel ended up with no elevators, no air conditioning, no running water and no functioning toilets. Yes this was caused by weather, but most every other hotel in the area was fully operational. They ended up kicking everyone out on Sunday by noon. They refunded Saturday night and after returning home and reflecting on what a horrible experience it was, I reached out to the hotel to see if I would be refunded for Friday night as well. They completely stonewalled me, kept transfer me, putting me on hold, would not return a phone call or email. I then reached out to Marriott Customer Care, where I was met with a completely uninterested, unapologetic and frankly rude response. The term "Customer Care" is a complete oxymoron. I was not fully expecting to be refunded, but at least wanted someone to listen to my case and perhaps apologize for the conditions. This was my first trip to NOLA and I had selected the hotel for a group of 18. The entire group is frustrated and even more so, because a few in our group were fully refunded for both nights. The hotel obviously has insufficient infrastructure, which led to our miserable experience. I just really wish Marriott would have stepped up and listened to at least appease me. The utter and complete lack of compassion and concern is unfortunate. If I ran my business this way, we wouldn't have any customers. Apparently Marriott believes they are too big too fail.
