My wife and I stayed at B on canal for our anniversary the room was very clean and quiet and the price was reasonable even at a last minute check in. ☆☆☆

We checked in on March 9, 2020 with a confirmation number and paid stay. The front desk had no reservation in the system for me. So after they told me they had no rooms available the all of a sudden found a room. After such a long drive I was thankful to have a room. Issue 1… we get to the room and it only had one King bed and a pullout couch. There were 5 of us, 3 teenagers and 2 adults how does this work? Issue 2… the AC didn't work in the room and either did the phones so we had to call from another room to get help since there didn't seem to be anyone at the front desk, ever! So at 12am we were told we needed to change rooms (keep in mind they told us they were sold out for the days we were staying). So we pack up and check in to another room. The 2nd room smelled so bad but we decided to deal since it was late. Okay, so now we're in the 2nd room, not only did it smell but it wasn't clean. We found old White Claw cans in the room and guess what didn't work?! The AC! The following morning we asked for towels for the room and we were told they didn't have any! The front desk employee brought us 2 hand towels "from the gym" so we could shower for the day. I asked "if he was kidding when he brought 2 hand towels for 5 people to shower? " So he brought up 2 more towels! I asked that he come in and feel that the AC was not working and he said, "that's how it supposed to feel", not knowing we had 2 other families in 2 other rooms and their rooms were 60°.

Where to begin.
We checked in around 4-430pm, and there were no towels in the room. We called front desk and they had sent someone up. We chatted with the housekeeping staff and they mentioned they hadn't marked the room as ready. Hint one they were understaffed. There were a few yellow stains on the bed sheets, but they weren't textured or crusty, so we knew they had been through the wash at least once. But still unsettling to see stains where we would be sleeping. Housekeeping did not vacuum the room during the day while we were gone, though they did make the bed (didn't change sheets). A/c did not work; we mentioned it on the second day, front desk sent maintenance up twice. Maintenance mentioned that the a/c "be trippin" in this particular room sometimes.
Why would you put someone in a room where you knew the thermostat was broken? They moved us to a different room, after the a/c didn't kick on. There were stains on the bed sheets in this second room as well, though again, not textured. Housekeeping did not replace any towels and we had to call front desk. They sent someone up with an entire bag within 10mins. Every. Single. Towel. Had some sort of yellow/brown stain on it.
Please consider taking some time to audit towels and bed sheets for stains, and take them out of circulation. The location was great, staff was friendly and responsive to our requests, but it is very obvious their housekeeping department is understaffed.

The rooms are really nice and clean. The staff is kind, friendly, and very sweet. Great atmosphere and very safe.

Everything was fine until the lot they recommended across the street booted my car for being ten minutes late. 115$ charge.

We stayed at The B on Canal Friday night. Everything was so nice, including the staff. Our server for breakfast even picked up the tab for breakfast. So nice of her. We will certainly go back.

Highly recommended! Nice and friendly staff. Beautiful clean and neat rooms with all the fixes. Restaurant/ bar lounge (located inside hotel) with large TVs for your entertainment. The food was delicious and responsibly priced! Absolutely will be booking here again! (Bonus) Short walking distance from bourbon street and only a few mins from Superdome!

Room was not properly cleaned. Hair on bathroom counter. No irons provided just steamers. Hotel staff was rude and catty. We were locked out out of our room for 1.5 hours and engineering staff asked us do we know how to fix the problem. The front desk staff never acknowledged that we were inconvenienced or apologized. We were not informed of the scheduled demolition of Hard Rock Casino located less than 1 block away prior to check-in. Forced to evacuate hotel for 10+ hours. We should have been notified so we could have made different accommodations due to timeframes of when reservation made even through 3rd party site. When checking out I requested my bill and was told the credit card machine was down. I asked that it be emailed and I still haven't received it two days later and I bet it's working. Informed the general manager, Daniel and he was patronizing in his attitude when speaking with me. Do yourself a favor stay away and save yourself the trouble. Please do not reply with the same canned response.

Cute little hotel for a great price. Rude workers! Esp in the bar and breakfast area!

We were a family of 16 that rented 9 rooms for our family vacation. These issues were unanimous. The hotel had many flaws; 1). Cold or low water pressure. 2). A/c's broke down often. 3). VERY poor Concierge Serve. Hostesses and Customer Service were down right "Catty" and most often didn't want to be bothered or never showed up when called. 4). No Microwaves. 5) Ice machine only available on one floor the others were broken. 6) Room service not available on Sunday and Monday and reopened Tuesday evening. 7). No vending machines. 8). You're immediately hit with the smell of sewer back up when you enter. 9). The rooms and bathrooms were so small the shower stalls didn't even have room for soap dishes. 10). Wi-fi hardly ever worked or phone. 11). We had to change rooms several times. 12). They offer a "pay and go" buffet at the bar on Sunday if you want to pay $5 for yogurt and $5 for a croissant and/or muffin. Very limited 13) Elevators often were broken.! 4). Although it's close to Bourbon St. And Tourist attraction. The cost for EVERYTHING around is over inflated. $30-$50 a meal. The Hotel is Cosmetically Beautiful but it's like they put a pretty dress on an old lady and called it Contemporary. Don't go there.

Great hotel. Beautiful building. Courteous staff and great location in the city!

Housekeeping was terrible. They would come in and only do half a job. One day they left our door ajar for at least 4 hours while we were out. One entire day and night there was no Wi-Fi.

Our bartender for happy hour was amazing! Hotel still has all the character and charm of the original building, but has been wonderfully updated.

We really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely will be back soon. Excellent service all around⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was fortunate to stay with B on Canal during my most recent trip to New Orleans. My suite had excellent views, was very clean and comfortable and the hotel was beautiful. Unfortunately, when I checked out, I left my keys in the safe however, Killian, the hotel manager went above and beyond and had them shipped to me through the hotels corporate shipping service. I would absolutely recommend B on Canal for your next stay in New Orleans! Thanks again, Killian!

Nice atmosphere and great restaurant. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are very nice!

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for walking to the French Quarter and catching the street car. Room was decently sized. Personal Keurig and refrigerator in the room. Large closet for all your belongings and a rather large TV. My only complaint is that the bathroom is beautiful, but not very user friendly. The shower has a wierd design where there is only a half wall and no door. Good luck trying not to spray water all over the bathroom floor, especially if you have a child along. No shelves in the shower, so your products have to go on the floor. Also, if your a grown female with a fully functioning reproductive system, there's no trash can in the bathroom, so good luck with that as well. Otherwise, a gorgeous, comfortable room in a killer location at a relatively reasonable price.

I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the hotel was compared to the price we paid (which was cheap-180). The beds were clean and comfy and the view was beautiful. There was an issue with the pull out couch but when I let them know at check out it was taken care of. There was a problem with the bathroom door and I wish I had of let them know but I think it was because everything else was great I honestly forgot 10/10 would recommend.

Booked this room at the last min on a great deal as we were driving to NOLA. When we arrived we were greeted with friendly staff and quick service. I was happy with my room… well decorated and comfortable for what we needed. I would say only draw backs were the dated elevator and the small bathroom. But perfect location to walk to bourbon st.

Amazing hotel. Smoke detector was very sensitive to of all things The Shower Steam lol. They designed it wrong put the smoke detector above the bathroom door. So fresh out a hot steamy bathroom the fire detector goes off. Maintenance man stayed back and forth. Not our faults. Hotel was very convenient to everything. The streetcar is right outside the hotel literally. Check in was very easy and staff was very courteous. The restaurant was nice but we were on the go so much we didn't eat there. The elevator sounded like a deathtrap but it was fine. I would definitely stay here again.

This place was so nice and comfy. It looked just like the pictures. The staff was friendly. The location was awesome. Even parking was good because we got lucky. The meters don’t run on the weekends and we left the car parked at the meter right in front of the hotel all weekend for free! It’s walking distance from Bourbon and our room had a great view.

I should’ve known this would be a bad experience when I walked in the lobby and it smelled something terrible. Apparently the manager was taking a nap in one of the rooms because, even after rebooking a room that I had already booked prior, I was still waiting on him 45 minutes later to “authorize” the first booking. The lady ahead of me in line was having similar issues. When I went to leave, the lady who had just come up to the checkout counter was having a hard time as well. I’m not sure how this place stays in business but I won’t be back and I definitely wouldn’t ever recommend it to any of my family or friends!

The location is good for the price. Parking is a horrible pain but there are plenty of Lyft drivers available nearby. The room is small but comfortable. Maintenance was fast and efficient when we had AC issues. The front desk is pretty hit or miss. Checking in was a bit of a mess with 3 ladies behind the desk and only 1 working, but the gentleman there in the evening was a true professional.

Really lovely aesthetic. Clean, minimal design. Really helpful and friendly staff. Four stars overall because for a brand new hotel (opened in Feb of 18), they let some of the details get away from them — bathroom shelving is worn away from the wall and doesn't hold anything, phone next to desk does not work, and our shower is slippery because there's no grip tape in the tub. Price was right for an extended stay, but there are details left out that leave something to be desired.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in. It was clean and comfortable. The employees were so helpful. They told us the best places to go and the best restaurants to eat at. The bar and food there were excellent! It was close enough to everything but not near the party areas and that was excellent. I recommend them to anyone that wants an excellent hotel that is not over priced.

The staff at the hotel was absolutely fabulous! Keith and Darnell rank high on my list of customer focused professionals. I understand that the hotel had just recently been renovated and changed ownership. There were a few snafus but I hope after some time on the job, these minor concerns will be handled. My only complaint was there was not a microwave in the room. With a refrigerator in the room, a microwave should at least be onsite for guests’ use. The rooms are beautiful and the beds extremely comfortable! Also, a perfect location. Just across the street from a trolley stop.

Worse hotel ever… not enough staff, broken elevators that stop and every floor, air conditioning didn't work, toilet didn't work, and they refused to refund us… avoid at all cost They don't even have something as simple as a vending machine in the entire building…

Excelent hotel, New administration and the hotel has been renovated. Modern hall and lobby. Bedroom well decorated, the bed was nice and comfortable, pillows good also, bathroom small in our room but clean and bathtub/shower. The only thing is to be careful while you take a bath because of the slipper floor of the bathtub.

Enjoyed our stay at Hotel B on Canal. Not only was our room clean and the bed extremely comfortable, but the hotel staff should be recognized for their helpfulness and honesty. Much to my surprise, after returning home I realized I left my wallet (with credit card, debit card and $160 cash) in the dresser drawer of our hotel room. Fortunately, a housekeeping staff member had turned it in to management (I wasn't able to get the name of this employee). When I called the next morning, the front desk attendant, Keith McIntosh (not sure his job title) located my wallet and kept it safe until my family was able to retrieve it for me. He was courteous and professional and went out of his way to arrange the return of my belongings. There are good, honest people in New Orleans at Hotel B on Canal.

Not right in the Quarter, but definitely close. Comfortable room. Looks like it was recently remodeled (new stylish furniture and decor), but there are finishing touches that aren't quite there yet (base molding is messy I some areas, hot and cold water taps are reversed, smart TV didn't work as described). The air conditioning was running all day but never fully cooled the room; this probably has more to do with the 95° outside weather and the corner suite windows. The beds were slightly underwhelming Full size mattresses instead of the Queens that I've come to expect in most hotels. If there was a continental breakfast, I was unaware of it. But then, we're in Nola, land of delicious jazz brunch, so I probably wouldn't have taken advantage of it anyway. My friends and I just needed a place to sleep while we were enjoying the town, and this place fit the bill nicely, and for a reasonable rate. Staff were generally pleasant, but stood their ground when we asked for an extended check out time. No big complaints. A solid, clean hotel. But nothing really special.

Be aware of this company they will lie to you about not having to pay a deposit and that you can cancel your reservations up until 3 days before your arrival date without any fees. Well according to the 5th rep I spoke to today they do charge and for me to cancel both of my rooms it cost me $445.00 and my reservations wasn't until june 15th here it is may 16th! I will make sure that I never make reservations with these crooks again! they need to start reading a disclaimer or something when people call to make reservations and make sure their employees know the policies. I will be expecting a full refund due to false information being provided to me and since they do have a recording I will make sure I go all the way to the top to ensure that this doesn't happen to anyone else!

For a hotel that’s only been open a few short months… these guys are absolutely on top of their game. Super friendly staff, beautiful rooms, top of the line guest service. The restaurant inside was absolutely delicious. We visited New Orleans for our honeymoon, arrived on Monday the 7th and departed this afternoon. I especially want to thank Keith from the front desk. An absolute gentleman. Kind and welcoming. He was the first impression, and right out of the gate, we felt at home. Definitely the face of the hotel in my mind. Guy is killing it in the hospitality business. Give that man a raise! Thank you Keith, and everyone else we interacted with. Will definitely be staying here again next time we come back.

We love it here so far! We are only staying one night, but we’ve already been impressed. Mostly everything in the building seems brand new, rooms are comfy, spacious, and clean, and the new restaurant downstairs is fantastic and affordable (the hotel is affordable too). It’s walking distance to almost everywhere you’d wanna go, a trolley ride (stops out front) for everywhere else, and a bus ride to and from the airport down the block make it convenient to be here. I’d recommend it.

Nice and comfortable bed, everything is kept clean in the room. I didn't like the siblings the bathroom because it seems to keep the water from flowing and I couldn't figure out how to change that, also the bathroom is a bit small. Staff is great and helped me correct my reservation that had been made with wrong dates. Location is great too, close to bourbon street and right on canal.

Absolutely amazing experience. Most of my wedding guest stayed in this hotel. We were given a great group rate. Kenisha (the sale rep for my group) was easy to work with. The staff is the best. We had 14 rooms in our group and every one of my guest commented on how great they were. Darnell, the bellhop, went above and beyond his job to make sure me and my guest were taken care of. The parking is a little inconvenient, but its New Orleans, all parking there is. It was very clean. I cannot think of anything to say negative.

The hotel is being renovated. It had a nice decor, the restaurant was not open yet, and the phone in my room did not work. Good walking distance from Bourbon Street.

My only interaction with the hotel was couple of days ago! I work nearby, so I went to ask for a business card for the hotel information, since a friend was coming to town. A rude, entitled lady responded the don’t have business card after pretending that my question is silly or she has never heard of business card in her life! She didn’t even ask why do you need a business card which is obviously important for a new hotel with a new so called management. I haven’t seen the rooms or other services, but I would definitely not let my friend interact with that rude receptionist. So I booked another hotel for him. I’m just surprised that in a tourist spot like New Orleans, people still have problems hiring the right people for the reception at their hotels. My advice: before investing millions on renovating a hotel, get some MBA courses. Hire professional with hospitality training!

Room was clean and very nice, staff was helpful. I wished they had a few more amenities like a larger bathroom and a microwave. We were on the 5th floor and there was a lot of noise pollution but we were all about to get rest. Overall a great stay, would consider staying again.

Stayed here two years back when they were going through some renovations. I have to say, though the hotel itself is gorgeous and has a lot of historic charm, it's a little creepy. Ended up staying up all night, completely uncomfortable. It is a nice stay though.

This place needs a lot of work. It opened before it was ready. It will be nice when it is finished but as of March 2018 we I can't recommend it at all. When it is finished (I think about another 3 months) it will be really nice. Most of the staff are awesome but the management needs more training in how to diffuse situations.

The Worst Hotel I Have Ever Stayed In. We Are Currently Staying Inside One Of The Room Right Now As I Speak. The Housekeepers Are Rude & Extremely Unprofessional. Large Amounts Of Hair Is Scattered All Along The Bathroom Floor. We We're Moved Because The Shower Was In Pieces. No Trash Cans, No Towels, Just Horrible Service. There's No One You Can Place A Complaint With. I'm Almost Positive This Hotel Won't Be Here For Very Long. I Will Be Contacting The BBB. Beware! do not stay at this hotel! you will be over charged and you'll regret staying!

Beautiful staff — would give them 5 stars! The actual hotel experience was maybe 2 stars. Decor was 20’s deco which is awesome but everything in the hotel was a bust. Elevator broke while waiting for it which led to a lot of walking up and down 7 flights of stairs. The parking was confusing and not easily accessible zero dining zero amenities and zero bedding provided for our pull out couch. The building is next to a busy hospital so you will here the ambulances all night. I believe this will end up once finalized a great hotel but not for me and my family this time. I will not be returning to this hotel again and would have a very difficult time referring a friend.

The hotel was being renovated and should not have booked guests! You have to pay-park yourself and carry your luggage from garage to the lobby. Luggage rack/cart was not available. Guests were actually stuck on the elevator for at least 20 minutes while we were being checked in. I honestly cannot believe this, but they had a fire drill at 9:30am! We travel to nola on a regular basis but will certainly NEVER stay at this place again! We’re pretty low maintenance do to the fact that we are hardly ever in our hotel… but this was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had! It takes a lot for me to actually take the time to write a bad review. Way to go guys… we will NEVER see you again from Jackson, MS! It all makes sense after reading other reviews. Wow!

Where do I start. When I check in my room a little after 6pm it was not ready they put us in another room til my room got ready waited til 9 room still wasn't ready after 9 we maded it to our room. The tub was dirty we cleaned it and the TV did not work. I was told no manager was on duty. The elevator sound like it was about to kill any minute. This is not NEWLY RENOVATED HOTEL its more of a work in progress hotel. This hotel was not ready for the public. They do not have anywhere for you to park. The best thing I can say is the location great. The front desk young man was very kind & helpful.

The manager Nicole is AMAZING! She definitely will take this hotel right to the top. Her professionalism and rapport building skills has made this my number one hotel to visit in New Orleans. The hotel is awesome as well.

If I could give zero stars I would. HORRIBLE customer service! My friend Mackenzie and I booked a room for Mardi Gras TWO WEEKS AGO, and at the time they said the reservation was good to go. I had a hunch and called them back today to find out they aren't even opening until Ash Wednesday. So they told me we were issued a refund. Lies. B on canal stole our money from us. Do not book here. They are liars and cheats.

My stay at this hotel was awesome! It was a last minute booking due to a disastrous AIRBNB stay, but they accommodated me quickly. I showed up at 6 am, asking for a room and they had one ready for me by 9! In the time I was waiting, I got to do laundry which was such a perk to have right in the building. The front desk staff are awesome to deal with and my room was awesome. Nice view and very cute and cozy. You can tell the hotel is a bit dated but I really was happy with the stay and loved hanging out in my room while waiting for friends. The hotel is right on Canal street too and it was easy to take the street car up and down Canal street. I will be staying here again the next time I visit New Orleans. Thank you!

Honestly don't know how this place is still open… Shower curtain won't close and bathroom door won't stay closed. The sink in the bathroom is literally crammed in the corner and is so small it makes you laugh. Red stain on the window curtain (looks like dried blood). The pull out couch is broken (most of the springs holding it on the frame were broken off and the mattress was touching the ground). Signs ask you not to bring up breakfast food but there's no breakfast… Says there's vending on my floor but there isn't, and the vending machines in the lobby look like they haven't been restocked in a couple of years. Also it says there's free parking but that's because there isn't any right now. You have to use the hospital parking deck and it's $20 a night. Perfect destination for the TV show Hotel Impossible. Only positive was friendly staff.

I reserved this room to surprise my girlfriend for a trip to New Orleans for her birthday. Sadly, she couldn't make it so I had to cancel. I gave over 24 hour cancellation and they then refused to refund my money saying the fine print stated they needed 72 hours notice. I still haven't found that fine print.

While cleanly updated with paint and furnishings, it still is an aged building. Quaint, historical, and with great service. Elevators are a bit noisy with their dinging, so pick a room away from them. Cell service is challenging in the lower floor level rooms unless you are on the outside rooms due to tall brick buildings around you. Concierge service is outstanding and breakfast is served with your stay. Good choice for those that like a personality in their hotels.

Old Hotel with a parking lot very small and you have to deflect it, the public parking is pretty bad and difficult to access for a considerable night. The staff I seemed harsh in its treatment of.

The best part of the hotel was the staff. The location is also convenient. I was disappointed with most other aspects. The mattress was not cormfortable. The room and halls had odd smells. Next time, we will spend a little more money to stay somewhere nicer.

I was dying to use the bathroom this morning when we arrived but was told I couldn't use the lobby bathroom until I was checked in as a guest and had a key card. That's pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Since we had to leave and go elsewhere for me to use the bathroom anyway, we made a last-minute decision to spend our week-long vacation in a Hilton hotel instead. It feels better to give our money to people who are welcoming and understanding.

It wasn't great but it wasn't bad. Stayed there for the Lions at saints game and didn't stay in the hotel much. It is very close to bourbon street and that's awesome. Elevator broke, so climbing of 12 flight of stairs sucked. Especially with the only accessible vending machine is on the lobby floor (it was a great workout though)

If you're looking for a hotel with amenities, this is not your place. Negatives: The pillows are half-sized, the toilets squeal when you flush them and getting the water to work in the shower was comical. Also, of the four days we stayed there, the elevator was broke two of them, so everyone who was checking in to this 11-story+ hotel was walking the stairs for two days. Positives: It's affordable, and walking distance to the French Quarter. I highly recommend buying a streetcar pass that you can utilize directly across the street, as the neighborhood gets a little sketchy the later it gets.

My friend, Victoria Fernandez and I had the opportunity to stay at your hotel from September 9-12, 2016 and we had a wonderful experience. Your staff that was on duty during our stay were very professional, friendly, and accommodating. I rated your hotel a 5-star because of one of your employees — Michelle Nelson, your concierge. He went beyond the call of duty. He was awesome! We were two women traveling alone and he made sure we were safe with transportation. What a blessing he was. I do plan to return to New Orleans in the near future and I sincerely hope he is still employed there. I do have a suggestion. I was informed the hotel is planning on installing a dining are for some type of continental breakfast in the morning. Your sitting area is beautiful but it would be so comforting to sit in the morning and have a cup of coffee and socialize with other guest. Thank you for this experience. I was blessed to be referred to your hotel. Keep up the good work.

Rooms are in need of multiple repairs, shower prrssure/funation ingredients shower heads are non-existent. Location is the best part.

I stayed here for a few nights in New Orleans and was pleased overall with my experience. The price was very reasonable, it's a short walk to the French Quarter, the room was clean, the staff friendly, and Wi-Fi. My only complaint however is the parking situation. I've visited New Orleans several times before, so expected to pay for parking. The parking is $18 a day in the lot right across South Saratoga Street. The lot is not secure at all, has no gate, and people wander in and out. I brought a fully insured rental car so was not overly concerned, but absolutely would not park my personal vehicle there for fear of a break in. For parking that costs $18 per day there should be better security. Period. Also, the property could use an update, but this is already scheduled and advertised in the lobby. Other than that, my experience was good, I would stay here again in the future.

The location was great, just a few blocks from Bourbon Street. Our room was clean and quiet, though it felt a little small being in a back corner (##10), the shower was definitely not for tall people or ideal for shaving legs. It was nice having two windows though. The parking situation leaves alot to be desired, as they recommend you park in the medical center garage. But to get back in required a longer walk, all of the exit doors tell you to enter on s. Liberty. But when you arrive at that entrance there was another sign saying sorry please walk up the drive in ramp. (On The direct opposite side of the block. ) Super inconvenient. No breakfast included. Everything was alacart, and like a $1 for a nutrigrain bar and up from there. No parking validation. If there was we werent notified on check-in or check-out. So parking in the recommended garage was an additional $18. I knew about the potential parking cost in advance. But was still disappointed in the situation.

Everything was clean and the location is good, but there were no amenities besides a gym that we didn't use. There's a breakfast that you can pay extra for. The room was pretty small, and the shower was the smallest I've ever seen. It was fine for one night but I wouldn't stay there any longer than that.

Checking was fine, room was reasonably clean. You have to pay for parking daily parking lot is right across the street from the hotel. By the time I do not believe they offer any kind of breakfast. But you're also close to the French Quarter and if you need to get something to eat or drink you can just walk there.

Even though the room itself was beautiful, the front desk service was not friendly or welcoming. When we tried to order room service, the third party company they partner with were very rude and hung up on me when I asked that thy cancel an order.
