My daughter left something very special behind and the staff dont seem to care we live in Chicago.

Bartender (dana) is trashy no class I could completely hear her yelling in the kitchen at someone super disrespectful. Everytime we come there she is just ghetto. Please hire someone with more class.

I reserved a room for the 11th of July a couple weeks in advance checked in at 5:30pm. Seemed a little sketch since I just gave my name and they asked if I was using the card on file. Didn't ask to see the card or an ID but whatever just sign in 2 spots and here's your key room 523. The room was average a little run down and obviously not covid Era clean, couple hairs in the tub dusty around the edges on about everything and some clear price tag sticks on the floor from the previous person. But, also not a super big deal. The bed seemed comfy and my husband and I were just exploring the area so whatever. The AC sounds like a dump truck but it was also kind of white noise soothing. However at 3:30 in the morning we were rudely woken up by a couple drunk people barging into our room with a key they had gotten from the front desk. I cannot even imagine who had it worse in this situation the drunks who rented an occupied room and were launched at and verbally assaulted by a crazed, tattooed, mostly naked man sporting hot dog underpants. Or us. I immediately called the front desk whom seemed unaware that the room already had an occupant. I expressed that this was totally unacceptable and that I wanted to speak to a manager. I was told a whole story about how the system showed the room was vacant and the lady for her part was distressed because she also had the drunk people at the desk probably pretty angry as well. I was told a manager wouldn't be around till Tuesday.

I did not feel safe. No staff wore masks. It's well documented the importance of wearing one indoors to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Great customer service. We had a few minimal requests (joining room with our friends on an upper level facing the river) and they accommodated our request without a problem. The pool was great and the complimentary hot breakfast buffet was delicious!

Loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff, the free breakfast bar was delicious and different each day we were there and again super friendly waitresses! the pool and jacuzzi were in a beautiful setting and crystal clear water. I look forward to staying there again!

The pool was awesome and no one in it. The breakfast waitress was very friendly. We plan on going back in June.

Beds were comfy and the room was very nice. The property is older with an old slow elevator, and the halls are dark. But it was clean and had a very nice (although limited) breakfast (eggs, potatoes, meat, nice pastries, cereal) with an attentive friendly hostess! Great shower head!   The view from our room and the front of the hotel was beautiful. There is a gorgeous park and logging museum right across the street along the water. Would probably stay here again.

The hotel is being remodeled and updated which really helps. I have stayed here half a dozen times. The service is good and the attached restaurant has the best French onion soup in the world. Well, at least in my travels.

Great staff and amenities available. Close to shopping if you have a car to use. The park and museum right across the street offer a nice view and a pretty place to walk/run in down time.

The hotel overlooks a park and canal but also a busy road off to the East, depending on your room location. The staff was friendly. The morning buffet helper was especially nice and eager to please. The hotel and rooms are becoming dated and the morning buffet choices are limited.

The staff is nice, the bed is good and there is a fridge. That's the good. We stayed in a room that is supposed to be for disabled, which I am. The shower has a chair to use but no handheld shower head, the only shower head is VERY high up on the wall, making it impossible to shower while using the chair. There is no microwave, only the fridge for amenities. There are 3 light switches that do nothing, there are no wall switch plates to turn on lights, you have to turn on each table lamp manually, which is fun in a dark room you aren't familiar with. The desk chair is unstable, maybe it just needs adjusting? I don't know but it's not my job to fix it. The room smells stale, I guess if you are tired enough it doesn't matter. Ice machine on our floor is out of service, same with the floor above us, had to go to a third floor to find a working ice machine, again lots of fun when you have mobility issues. I am glad it was only one night.

Wonderful environment with restaurant attached. You will always be welcomed with a smiling face! The owners are always finding ways to improve and make your stay the best. Tara goes out of her way to put in so many hours of hard work, and it shows. Not many places around town have owners who get their hands dirty, AMAZING place this is!

In the center of town. Plenty of parking, clean rooms, and a good restaurant attached. Great morning breakfast too!

Great place to stay and near the water, great for fishing the river. Clean rooms and good breakfast. I will be staying with them again.

We started staying here seven years ago and now spend every spring here for the walleye run! We came as strangers and left as friends! The attached Avenue Grille and Bar has great food and live music! I look forward to this trip every year.

Had the privilege of being stranded here for 2 nights due to a snow storm… in APRIL. The entire city was literally shut down. The staff made sure not only I was fed and comfortable but they made sure every person's needs were met. They even agreed to pay an entertainer to play live music for us for the 2 nights even though she was scheduled to be elsewhere but was snowed in like the rest of us. Got to know the managers, and service folks pretty well through out the ordeal. ALL employees really stepped up and did a fantastic job! It was a team effort on all their parts and everyone did a great job.

If you are going to stay in the area this is the place. Good food and free breakfast buffet.

Hotel is clean, comfortable with friendly staff. It is what it is… a budget friendly hotel in a small town. It has an inviting vibe despite being somewhat dated. Which doesn't matter to me at all. ;)

I have stayed here at this hotel for business on a regular basis for about 4 plus years. Last night my fire alarm went off at 1:45 in the morning. I was on the 6th floor and I immediately dressed and called down to the front desk at least 4 times. No one answered and this is attended 24 hours. I am in a panic. I went down the stairs in the fire escape. Went outside and back in the front door lobby. A sign saying I will return. I am yelling is anyone here. No one around? I did not see any fire but sat down on the lobby and called the front desk. About 5.10 minutes later a employee strolled out of the bar are which was closed with her coffee in hand. We proceeded up the elevator and she took the alarm off the wall. I guess it was a dead battery. The batteries should be changed twice a year to prevent this from happening! I discussed the whole story to the front desk employee who said they have coffee duties to do for breakfast? EXCUSES! AT 1:45? The hotel manager made every excuse. The phones don't work in the other room we can't hear the phones. Doors were closed. The employee was doing a audit. I can not believe the bull I heard! This was totally a bad experience and if there was a fire in my room. Wall etc. No one would have responded till it was to late.! I should have called 911 and maybe someone would have responded. I like this place but that was unacceptable!

I would be giving this a rating of one but Jake (bartender), Sue (breakfast) and Megan (breakfast) were the gems of the place.
I asked for a bottle of water for the fitness room and was told they didn't have ANY bottled water. It was about 8 am and there was a sign that said "ask me for a grab and go" which was like a take along breakfast that included a bottle of water. I asked again for a bottle of water and she told me they are in the vending machines down the hall and there was a water cooler in the fitness room. The water cooler has come cups… not sure what good that does! So I went back to the counter and asked for a grab and go. She went in the back and put a bottled water in a bag and shoved it over the counter at me and told me she didn't have any fresh fruit and I would have to go to the breakfast area for that. Her name was Amber and she was very rude. The next day I refilled the bottle with the water in the cooler. The following day I asked for a grab and go because I threw out the bottle and amber told me they are only available from 5 am to 6 am but the sign was still there. It stays there all day.
I have NEVER had a problem getting a bottle of water at a hotel.
The manager Bonnie reprimanded an older worker who later I found out was in her 70s. Hazel maybe? She was mopping the floor and Bonnie told her she had to do it earlier in the morning. She was very rude to her.
