We have tried other hotels in our years of coming to the Mayo but none hold a candle to Centerstone. This is the only place we stay. The convenience of the shuttle, on demand, is wonderful. The close proximity to the clinic makes for a delightful walk. The staff goes above and beyond and always tries to make whatever accommodations they can to make the stay as stress free as possible. From the staff to the restaurant and the other amenities makes this the perfect place to stay when in Rochester.

VERY clean, very kind staff who understand a huge part of their clientelle are going through a hard time physically (not to mention mentally)! The shuttle service to Mayo is so convenient, and Twigs Lounge has upscale yet affordable, delicious food. I won't stay anywhere else when I come to Rochester.

This is the only place that we stay when we come to Mayo. Clean, quiet, friendly staff, and appreciate the free shuttle service for this hotel only greatly. Also, the Twigs Restaurant that’s attached & offers free delivery to your room.

We have stayed here every time we come for appointments. This is our 11th year. The staff is amazing, the shuttle service to and from Mayo/St. Mary’s is fast and for Plaza guests only. Plus they will take you anywhere in the Rochester. Twigs is right on site and has incredible food and a gluten-free, healthy menu also. The outer suites are apartment style and have full kitchens which were a lifesaver while staying here six weeks dummy stem cell transplant. The staff even went above and beyond and got me to treatment during a blizzard. They also offer a Mayo rate. We will not stay anywhere else. Five stars.

Terrible hotel. Old, Run down, Smelly. Emailed the property multiple times with no response. Do not stay here.

Rate changed at check in with no explanation. Hotel was a disaster thanks to wrestling tourney. I stayed here to spend time with family in the hospital and had no idea it was going to be such chaos. Staff didn’t seem to care and were overwhelmed. I booked this thinking we could use the pool and arcade. The pool was trashed, full of kids in the hot tub, no towels. The arcade was trashed and hardly anything in there.

Just got home from a 5 day stay here. The shuttle drivers were great and the gentleman at the front desk in the morning was very helpful and friendly.
The best thing is that the shuttle will take you to some area restaurants, shopping centers and grocery stores. It was great to park my car and not have to worry about driving. Will stay here again on our return trip to Mayo.

The staff may not know you by name but they recognize the faces and welcome you! We have been staying there for 4 + years… Drivers, front desk, cleaning crew, restaurant crew have been a steady eddy. It makes it feel like home… just like the Mayo clinic does. You walk in and it is personal… and makes you feel like family and you want to come back because you miss seeing them! I would not stay anywhere else. Centerstone is where our heart is!

Restaurant was very good and good service!

All the hotel staff were very friendly! I like the free hot breakfast, free shuttle to and from appointments, and swimming pool with hot tub. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the hotel could be a little more cleaner.

You can't really complain for the price. You get what you pay for here. Staff was helpful and friendly, and the rooms are fine, though could use some updating. It's not going to wow you, but you won't be upset.

Pros: free, convenient shuttle bus, on-site laundry, very affordable and close to clinic. Cons: musty animal smell, A/C didn't work in the 3 different rooms we stayed in, unsafe neighborhood… tires were slashed on my car and my father's car during our 2+ week stay. Owners were on vacation at their cabin and had no manager. They took no responsibility though it was their parking lot. No security camera.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Right when we got to our room we tried to flush the toilet and the handle was broken so I called the front desk and within minutes the maintenance man was at our room and fixed it. We enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub as well as the shuttle service. The on site restaurant Twigs was very good with outdoor patio seating with beautiful flowers. We will definitely be staying here again.

We had the opportunity to stay at this hotel on our trip to The Mayo Clinic-we checked in on Monday-July 16th and left on Wednesday-July 25. We enjoyed our visit there, great room, great restaurant, great breakfast and great staff. Thanks for all you did to make our stay a success. We did not receive the news we had hoped for at Mayo but our stay was great-also appreciated the shuttles and great drivers-

It is a great place to stay. The pools are awesome there is a kiddie pool for the little ones. There is a hot tub, even, a bigger pool and the rooms are good.

Very nice hotel. Not far from downtown and the Mayo clinic, but far enough to avoid the traffic. Great shuttle services at no extra cost. Has a pool room with a standard hotel pool and hot tub, and also has a small wading pool for small children. There is a great restaurant and bar called Twigs that has good food, and a gluten free menu.

The bathrooms need an update in a big way. Other than that the stay was great. Very accommodating for Mayo patients. Breakfast sandwich at restaurant was excellent and coffee shop on site is very handy for early mornings.

This property has 2 parts. For longer stays there is building with full suites, kitchens, etc. That building seems to be a bit older than the traditional hotel building, but since I didn't stay in the long term facility I can't review that. The hotel however is quite nice. Clean, very comfortable beds and nice furnishings, warm, even in MN winters, and the staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The hotel has a delightful restaurant called Twigs. The menu is wide ranging for most any taste, but the trademark is the hot stone cooking. You order your prefered meat type, or mix of meats and seafood, which are brought to your table raw. They then bring you a 400 degree heated flat rock, about the size of a pizza, along with a selection of dipping sauces and your side dishes. You cook your meats yourself on the hot rock, sort of fondu style. It's fun and the food was excellent. The decor is warm and casual. Quite a nice experience. We had eaten here on our last visit to Rochester and chose this hotel so we could conveniently eat here again. A lovely experience all the way around. Highly recommended.

A great place to stay! Room was a bit dated and could have used an air freshener, but super clean, and well stocked. Full kitchen, bath and bedroom. Staff were incredibly friendly and the free shuttle service was fantastic! There is also an arcade and pool / hottub. Pool could have been warmer. Overall it was wonderful.

Reserved a room on their website and when I showed up was told I was not allowed to rent a room because I was from Rochester. It was a king suite, because with 3 kids finding rooms big enough in rochester to get away for a night can be difficult. When reserving a room I was asked to provide my address, so I of course assumed that if this was an issue it would have prevented me from making a reservation. So instead of making reliable plans I was made to wait until a manager came out to tell me (whom I never asked to speak to) that their policy is not to rent to anyone in Rochester or surrounding towns. I had thought a nice dinner and night out with my kids would have been nice, but now I've wasted my time and have to scramble to fix plans so as not to disappoint them. Will definitely not be frequenting Twigs or recommending this hotel to anyone.

We have stayed here several times and have always been pleased. Front desk is always courteous and helpful. Shuttle drivers are fantastic and always timely. Richard one of the shuttle drivers even made sure I was able to find specialty items at the store required due to food allergies. Twigs is a great place to eat and accommodates both my gluten free needs and my husband who does not need gluten free. They even made my gluten free continental breakfast and I was able to pick it up at the front desk the night before. On several occasions they even brought it to our room for me. We also had the privilege of meeting the owners on one of our stays. Very kind friendly people and treat their guests as friends not just another number staying at the motel. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay and will stay again if we are ever back in Rochester. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel at home.

My husband and I were seeing doctors at the Mayo Clinic & my stay was extended from 1 week to 2. The staff @ Centerstone Plaza were always friendly & very helpful. The room rates were definitely affordable for long-term stay. I think the only real issues we had were the laundry facilities — clothes never really got clean & one dryer didn't work well & would leave clothes damp, and when we needed (requested) linens to be changed they weren't. If we ever have to come back to Mayo or just want to visit the area again we would definitely stay here! Thank you!

Hotel is a bit dated, but not bad. Reasonable pricing for the area. Staff was very friendly (with a couple of exceptions), especially the drivers. Shuttle was a big plus, as was the free parking. Twigs was nice for dinner. Just don't ask for a cork screw! Apparently they don't have one, even in the bar. But don't worry, we were able to chip the cork out with a pocket knife!

Door to the room was frozen shut TWICE. The first time opening the door, it was admitted that this situation has happened before with multiple rooms. Had to use a blow torch to thaw and open the door. Waited an hour to even get into the room the second time. Over night staff was very unpleasant and unprofessional. No maintenance personnel on site for overnight, and evening security did not know how to use blow torch. Will not stay here again. Not worth the money spent.

Front lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. That's kinda where the good ended. Toilet wouldn't flush in the first room, so got moved. Curtains in second room ripped along with a rip in the bedspread. Carpet stained. Pool room too cold to use also hallways cold. Shuttle drivers and front desk people very nice and friendly! Oh ya when we got back to our room on the second day out bag of snacks were gone. Glad that was all, minor!

The lobby was very nice and they had a decent breakfast. My room smelled a little and the furniture and ac unit were pretty dated.

Looked Good Online, Run Down in Person We checked into our original room (a King Suite with Kitchen), only to find that the cleaning staff had left their rags on the furniture in the room. Then we went into the bedroom of the suite to see how the mattress was, and my wife and I sunk into the bed — it had no support whatsoever, and with both of us with back problems, wasn't an option. Also, the bathroom had a persistent leak that was very loud and constant. There was a wind draft coming through either the window or AC unit, which made us feel like we were outside, not inside. After bringing my concerns to the front desk, they moved us to a standard King Suite, but kept our rate the same (which is advertised less). Our second room was somewhat improved — the bed was slightly firmer, enough to get by for one night. Overall this is a tired well worn hotel that has most definitely seen its better days. Needless to say, we will be staying elsewhere for our next trip to the Mayo Clinic.

This place was horrible! We came from 3 hours away for my daughter's surgery and chose this place because it had extended stay rooms with a kitchen that was supposed to be fully stocked. If you plan on cooking there you better bring your own pots/pans/cooking utensils. Their biggest frying pan is big enough for 1 egg, no baking dishes or cooking sheets, 3 forks, 2 knives, 4 spoons… not even a pizza cutter. They have a huge knat problem. They were everywhere in the room. The pool is in the main building across the street from the extended stay rooms. The outer buildings look like something from a horror movie. The main building may be a hotel but everything else looks like a cheap slum motel. Wish I could post pictures on here.

I have been staying here when I come to Rochester on business for many years. I have to say in the last 10 years, this place has made a significant improvement in quality and comfort. Awesome job to the staff and owners!

I've been in and out of this hotel numerous times and found the staff to be so helpful. Not to mention the food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious. The location and proximity to downtown very convenient. I would highly recommend.

I have stayed here before and I really do like the convenience of the shuttle which is usually available and the friendly staff. The A. C. Is, noisy but everything else is good. Price is very good for the service offered.

Nice staff, bedroom of the suite had no air conditioner, just a fan exhausting from the entry room through the wall so it never cooled off. Room was cleaned but had some things missed like a prior occupants hair braid on the floor partway under the stove. Beds were ROCK hard. Great shuttle service and a decent continental breakfast selection.

Rooms clean and pleasant. Staff was friendly and eager to correct any issues. Breakfast bar was complete with pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, and sausage. Also tea, coffee, milk, water, and juice. Very nice for an "express" breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

The best hotel we have ever stayed at! Free shuttle, restaurant attatched, free breakfast buffet, swimming, hot tub, exercise room, bar. We never had to leave other than Mayo. Very clean, updated, friendly service, asked for extra blankets and no problem. Oh also game room and vending machines. We will definitely stay here again!

Awesome place to stay! Great restaraunt and bar, clean rooms and I've been a coach for the last 10 years I have never stayed at a place that makes sports teams a priority. Their pre-party for the teams, the billboard with the schedule and the free shuttle were top class! Would definitely stay here again and recommend it for future sporting events. Well done Centerstone Plaza!

We came up to Rochester for a big wrestling tournament. Between our team, coaches, and families; we probably occupied a minimum of 20 rooms. My word of advise ABSOLUTELY DO NOT STAY THERE! The "smoke free" room smelled old, musty, and like someone chain smoked cigars. We pulled out the Murphy bed and it was not until the next morning we noticed multiple areas of what appeared to be old, dried blood spots and the sheets were dirty. There is one small AC unit in living room and bedroom was so HOT! You couldn't breathe. Every surface from the table, kitchen counters, fridge, stove, etc. Was grimy, dirty, and had spots that had apparently not been cleaned at all. The GLASS shower doors were off the track and when I tried to open them, I nearly sliced my finger off. However when I looked down there was a used bandaid in the bathtub. The only reason I even gave one star was because they let us cancel our second night reservation that day, as they did with others. Word of advise, it maybe a few dollars cheaper, but your health is a lot more important.

We have our Family Christmas party there annually and it's a perfect place for stuff to do for all ages.

Surprisingly nice hotel with decent rooms and helpful staff. Kids loved the pool.

No matter why you're visiting Rochester, MN you'll find that Centerstone Plaza Hotel Soldiers Field/Mayo Clinic Area is a comfortable, lovely hotel. We visit in the extended stay suites. Since we have a separate front room with a full kitchen and a queen or king size bed in the bedroom, we feel more centered. This hotel becomes our home away from home while we're at Mayo Clinic appointments. This is our fourth visit in as many years, and the hotel looks better each time. The owners are committed to helping make their visitors' stay stress free. They've brought in staff who are great at their jobs whether it's frontdesk, shuttle drivers, maintenance, housekeeping, or others. They work to make our stay pleasant. If there is a problem, they work to solve it effectively. Each morning we have a complimentary complete breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, waffles, coffee, juice, milk, and so much more. Twigs, the hotel restaurant, has an excellent menu, including a gluten — free menu. The restaurant experience is quite uplifting. The outdoor restaurant seating adjoins the restaurant. It sits in a garden surrounded by a miniature swift stream. The sounds, sights, and fragrant smells are most inviting. All the other amenities, like a pool, workout room, etc, are kept in good shape. Whenever you want to go somewhere, the hotel provides on call shuttle services. This service was the main reason my family came here in the first place.

This hotel is a fantastic choice for marathoners! Free shuttle to the race, early grab n go breakfast and late checkout! The staff was helpful, friendly and provided great recommendations for dinner. The shuttle drivers were also very kind. A MUST for anyone running the MedCity Marathon!

The service was great, all staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was alright and breakfast was decent. The pool area could definitely use a good deep clean, especially the floor. We used the free shuttle service which was very speedy! The rooms were clean but the carpets felt a little sticky. They could use a good shampoo. Overall the stay was good.

Stayed here for the marathon in Rochester. Staff were very nice and automatically gave us late checkout and started breakfast early at 5:00 am, just for the marathon people. Wifi was free, but so bad as to be unusable, even when they reset it. Breakfast was included, and better than I expected, but my expectations were low. I would have been unhappy had I paid extra, but as an included breakfast it was decent. Pool was nice and exercise equipment was all in good condition. Despite my complaints, I will absolutely stay here again for the marathon next year, as they really went the extra mile for marathon guests.

I took my wife to the Mayo Clinic and stayed at Centerstone Plaza Hotel Soldiers Field. What a great experience! The staff was extremely helpful and accommodated our every need. Twigs was fantastic. Should we need to return, Centerstone will be our place of choice.

Good stay. Rooms were nice. The restaurant had nice beer selection. Employees were helpful. Only odd thing was that they had public swim lessons in the hotel pool. I've never seen that before and was a little annoying. It was just really loud in there and nowhere to sit because the parents of the kids were all sitting around waiting. They should have an area for the parents to sit or something. I felt like I was the one in their way and they were staring at me the whole time I was in the hot tub.

We stayed at the Centerstone for a 50 year class reunion. July 31 to August 3. Despite making a reservation 3 months ahead we were relegated to a room accross the alley from the main hotel as far from the elevator as possible. "Sorry, no other rooms" was the only reply. The room would have been OK if the A/C actually worked. It was supposed to cool 2 rooms — didn't. The ice maker did not work. Was told. Take the ice bucket from the fridge and walk all the way around our building, across the alley, walk in the front door of the lobby, walk halfway down the hall, take elevator to the second floor, and HUNT for the icemaker. No Signs on ANYTHING. Stayed 3 nights, however we were locked out Sunday night. As our room was a thousand feet from the desk and we were pooped out I used my cellphone to call the desk. The nice little lady said I could walk all the way back to get new keys, or she could send someone up. After 5 minutes a bus driver showed up with the keys. Finally got in around 9:30 PM. Wife used the toilet and found out the flush handle had fallen off. Called the desk AGAIN. "Sorry NOBODY available to fix the toilet till TOMORROW". I found a coat hanger and rigged a FLUSH on my own. What fun for only $100 a night. My guess is This hotel is run by some corporation that plans to wring it dry, screw everybody possible, and dump it. Stay away.

Very pleasant staff made checking in was really entertaining. Nick at the front desk was very help and makes u feel truly welcomed.

Can find better for the same price. Shuttle awesome and friendly. Tub was nasty. Little bugs coming from garbage disposal and tub. But was comfortable. Had a kichen suite.

Great service. Twigs restaurant was awesome. Nice service at the front desk. We stayed for a wedding and I didn't hear anybody complain. The place was a good value.

Not great. Nothing about this hotel was good. Looked like a 1980s hotel. Nothing modern. Rooms smell and no AC at all. Pool is discolored, and hot tub is not even hot. Breakfast was typical, nothing fancy. Only good thing was the beds were fine. No problems or bugs.

Booked a queen suite and got one upon arrival. Not at all what I expected for a best western hotel. Room was hot as an oven. The AC unit must've been installed back in the 70's not only because it looked antique, but also because it barely worked. Finally had to open all the windows and the door to cool the room down. Reported the issue to the front desk and the hostess just said she'd report the issue to maintenance without asking for any information from me. On the plus side of things. The shower has fantastic pressure and a very nice shower head, otherwise the rest of the room isn't much to look at.

Great shuttle service. Terrible food. Tries to be fancy and ends up? Good free breakfast (normal) in morning. Over priced and will not deal with you.
