Great little motel in a good location. Little purpose built apartments which are the perfect base for exploring Grand Rapids.

Although this is an older rather dated motel, my room was clean, with no bugs. And the owners were personable and pleasant. Rooms have frig, microwave and coffee makers. Will stay again.

If there was a no star option I would choose that disgusting smells horrible rude owners.

The management was terrible. I booked a double room with 2 beds and they argued and made me pay more than the website offered it at in order to get the second bed. Room was very cold had to go to the office for a space heater that only worked part time. Room was disgusting. Slept on top of the bedspread. Paneling was falling off the wall. Priceline tried to get me a refund on the second bed rate but the management denied. I would not recommend this motel to cockroaches.

The place was not the Taj Mahal by far. But it was clean and affordable for the area. It is a old hotel. The staff was pleasant friendly and did exactly what they needed to do. The room was smaller but had everything you need unless you're going on vacation to stay in your room all week then it's not big enough. Anytime I'm back up there I will stay there.

Price on internet isnt properly represented price otherwise great place.

The attendant I spoke to was incredibly friendly, and the experience was overall pleasant. The room was much cleaner and nicer than I expected, especially given the price. Would definitely recommend.

I haven't got a lot, to go on… but, off of what I've got, in terms of info… it's alright…

They have really nice rooms that are newly and beautifully remodeled. The bar was nice the bartender was very welcoming.

Even if this is your last option run the other way. We listened to the neighbor hollering about how horrible her son was whe she was on the phone. Very poorly maintained. I was uncomfortable through my stay. I honestly would not even give it one star but there was no option for 0.

The location seems shady and the owner can be abrasive and rude. There are never a bunch of nice folk who stay there.

It had electricity, hot water, a bed and the roof didn't leak… that's the best part. Otherwise it smells, has old appliances, is dirty and Mohammad at the front desk tried to charge me extra because my first CC failed. Avoid avoid avoid!

Rooms are falling apart. They are full of mold so if you have breathing issues beware.

The Itasca feels over priced for what you get. The neighbors can be noisy as they work with the local shelter. The rooms do have mini fridges with a small freezer compartment but, overall, it won't hold a whole lot. The freezer won't even hold a pint of Ben and Jerry's especially if you brought microwavable breakfast foods to nuke in the morning. Room's do have a basic coffee pot And you're provided with little sealed bags of coffee. I'd never heard of the brand and didn't try it to give feedback. If you need to overnight here, it's okay. If you're looking to rent the apartment, don't. It's over priced just because there's a big plasma screen TV in there. Wi-Fi is free but password protected. The password can be found on your door but speeds are horrendously slow at times.

The rooms at the Itascan were laughably small. There was still a mini fridge, microwave, flat screen TV, and an (old) ac unit, so it had some of the same amenities of spendier hotels, but all of that crammed into the small room doesn't leave much space for anything.

It's was a good place to stay.

The owner was really nice and the room was pretty decent. The kitchen could have been better but it was nice and relaxing after everything I have been though. I would love to come back to visit some time if I would have a chance.

This place is a dump, room smells like an ash tray, no amenities at all, had an medical emergency and had to leave one day early but was not able to get my money back for the one night… would not suggest this place to anyone.

Very bad services. High price, dirty place.

The nastiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Gross and stinks… afraid to sleep in. Paid 75 dollars for it.

Bates motel is more like it. Disgusting rude people they should be ashamed of themselves. Steer clear!

This place is horrible! They charged me $70 for a run down room and after actually seeing it, I asked for a refund and they refused. The chair had stains all over it, the comforter had cigarette burns in it, the towels smelled stale and the bathroom floor tiles were half gone. This is the worst motel room I've ever "not" stayed in. We left angry and disgusted! They didn't even bother trying to work with me on a partial refund and acted like this was some special room at some great price! I could probably better furnish the entire room with rummage sale furniture with the $70 they charged me! Maybe reinvesting some of the profits back into the rooms sometime this decade would be nice!

Very bad service. They don't have a/c and heater and poor Wi-Fi. It's very horrible.

If I could give it no stars I would. This place is run down to put it in the best possible light. There's no A/C, the interior of the rooms are dingy and look as if they were furnished with purchases from Goodwill or a garage sale. Additionally, there was a wrecked van parked directly in front of my room which I'm assuming was the owners (what owner would let a guest leave a junked out van in the parking lot? ). It was bad enough that even though I had already paid for a room, I chose to find other accommodations for the night, not even bothering to ask for a refund. All that I wanted to do was forget that I ever set foot in the room and take a shower to cleanse myself of whatever filth I might have picked up while there. I have never been to a hotel that I've refused to stay in until the Itascan. If given the choice to stay here or sleep in your car, choose your car 100% of the time! Spend the extra $20-30 and stay at one of the other hotels in the area. This is by far the worst hotel in Grand Rapids.

This is the worse hotel ever don't ever go there.

I really love this place. It's walking distance from almost every restaurant. It has pretty nice rates to and is peaceful and quaint.

For an older NONfranchise Motel, it is pretty good. VERY clean. We had to take a smoking room and you could hardly tell. Will definitely be back.

The ppl were amazing and rooms were nice.
