Reviews of Grand Superior Lodge 3*
We had a delicious lunch on the deck, with a beautiful view and an amazing waitress named Emma!
I left my heart at 503, our wee perfect cabin on the lake! We plan to return! Simply gorgeous!
I've stayed up here during every season, and they are all spectacular! The resort staff are always friendly and helpful, the lodging is clean and comfortable, the restaurant food is delicious, and there is always something fun to do while in the area. All around the perfect place to stay for a get away!
Celiac friendly. GF Swedish meatballs. Great breakfast with GF toast.
Everything has been great. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent.
Very easy check in, hot tub and pool is great. Restaurant on site. Deck looking out to the lake is fantastic. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.
THE GOOD: Family-friendly facilities. Great views and reasonably good access to pebble lake. Near many attractions. James at the front desk should run this place.
THE BAD: Poor management. Poor attention to detail. Low levels of cleanliness and even lower levels of customer service by management with a "too bad, so sad" attitude.
VERDICT: Minnesota's North Shore is full of awesome, family-friendly resorts with great facilities, great view and good, friendly customer service. This is not one of those resorts. Do not recommend.
FULL REVIEW:
I exclusively use reviews based on facts so I'll attempt to not include any subjective opinions on this part of the review.
We arrived in my birthday, 7/18/21, with 3 families in total. 6 adults, 3 kids. Immediately after opening the door to our unit, a well-appointed 3 bedroom 4 bathroom unit with beautiful views and access to semi-private beach, we were greeted with the unequivocal space of cigarette smoke and weed, a real disappointing surprise for our group of avid non-smokers. Called the front desk and got no response so walked over. After hearing my concern, James behind the front desk counter walked back with me with a bottle of smoke eliminator and made great small conversation on the way back.
Loved the cabin we stayed in. Was on the end large grass area couldn't hear 61 at all. Great lake views. Will be back. Cabin was cozy.
The room is beautiful! The meals in the dining facility was scrumptious. Listening to Gitchii Gumii and falling to sleep with my lovely wife is like a dream come true! 💕
Great food and atmosphere.
Went here on a last minute getaway! Loved that you offered a one night stay. Everywhere else we looked required a 2 night minimum. We stayed at cabin 503 and it was great! Will definitely recommend and come back!
Beautiful cabin on Lake Superior. Its calm and peaceful. Love it.
The cabin wasn’t the cleanest. Called for a takeout order but they closed at 5pm. I get it’s thanksgiving but don’t post you will be open till 8pm. Just a heads up from the staff would be nice.
Property itself is gorgeous and that’s where the good ends. I Paid for a “suite” haha. The room was dirty and dingy and looked like it hasn’t been touched since it was built. There were holes in the Sheetrock paint missing everywhere cobwebs behind the tv. The carpet was gross and stained as well as the bedding. For $300 a night I expect the room to at least be clean and not look like a roadside motel. Very very disappointed!
Walking on the beach. The beautiful cabin with a great kitchen. After a long day out it was great to go for a swim when we came home.
We enjoyed our time there and loved our cozy cabin. Staff were super friendly and helpful! will definitely be coming back! did I mention the food?! Their lakeside breakfast with Walleye is delicious So many things for kids to do there!
Can't wait to come back. Our trip ends tomorrow sadly. But we will be coming back in the future for sure. The staff is amazing and the property is beautiful and well raken care of.
Great staff, great food. Excellent views of lake Superior. easy access to so many things. We have stayed her for years and always go back!
The property was stunning and very picturesque. From the registration to our departure everything was top notch! Staff was amazing and the grounds were immaculate with private beach access to Lake Superoir! Priceless❤️
Had an awesome stay. Rooms view was awesome as was the food and workers! Thanks for a great stay! Will be back for again for sure!
Great rooms and right on Lake Superior, can’t beat that! We enjoyed our stay in the fall exploring the local trails and parks, and just the North Shore. The food was amazing in the restaurant as well! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and it was all delicious.
We stayed in a log cabin suite. Very quiet. Great view of the lake. Great couples retreat.
Wonderful place to stay. Amazing rooms, great views and helpful staff.
Beautiful cabins and suites! The scenery is stunningly beautiful. The staff are very kind and extremely helpful, the dining at the lodge is delicious.
Mother daughter time was great! Our booked room was not ready so they gave us a 2-room suite instead:) Easy access to the lake where we found the perfect rocks to paint on. Thank You, we will be back.
Awesome views! Able to sit along the shore and have a fire and listen to the waves splash against the rocks.
For our wedding anniversary we did a last minute one night stay at Grand Superior. The only lakeside room available was a most basic “double queen” so we booked that. We arrived at 4p and check in was very friendly and efficient. We got to our room and were pleasantly surprised by how clean and comfortable everything looked. We next explored the gift shop (didn’t buy but loved selection) and went for happy hour. Server Jaryd (? ) was attentive and brought our drinks. Honestly there is no better lake view than this restaurant! Our apps were delicious. The bar had a few other guests but it wasn’t loud or too busy… just a nice relaxing North Shore experience. We will definitely be back, maybe in larger or with deck room next time. Oops, forgot to mention fire pit and s’mores—-the best!
The staff were amazing helping in every way possible with my friends wedding and making it run smoothly.
Great place! Quiet & right on the water. Listen to the waves all night. We could only stay 1 night. The grounds are really well maintained, pretty cool when a storm passed by out on the water. Would be nice if they put a Mini frig in the room!
Had a lovely stand alone pet friendly cabin. The lodge is perfectly situated for hiking at the many State parks. The fact it’s a quarter mile from the Rustic Inn where we had dinner and pie every night clinched the deal. But the staff are friendly and generous people who sincerely want you to enjoy your stay. The staff are what make a place worthy of a 5 star rating!
My wife and I spent our 30th wedding anniversary at Grand Superior Lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was awesome and clean… the staff was very friendly and helpful. The service and food in the restaurant was excellent. We will definitely be returning! Thank you so much for an anniversary to remember!
Richard and Lisa Springer.
Friendly & helpful staff, comfortable beds, good location… plus just a short jaunt to the Rustic Inn for the best pies. Has charging for EVs and is very appreciated. Overall nice place to stay and stage day trips to visit various parks and the north shore.
Beautiful place! If you want peace and quiet this is the place to come. There is also a lot of activities available for the children to do. We rented a townhouse that slept 10 this is the view from the master bedroom.
My husband and I just returned from a 4 night stay. The outside of the building we stayed in had the look of a log cabin but once inside it looked like an outdated apartment building. Our room was one of 2 apartments upstairs. We had one of the "suites" with a jetted triangular corner tub. I'd have happily given up the tub, which only a small child could've sat in comfortably, for a larger window that could be opened for a breeze off the lake. The room was cramped and hot even after turning the air conditioning down to 69. Everything there from the toilet paper to the decor is the cheapest you can possibly find. Most of the younger staff were very nice but the older front desk lady, Dawn, seemed crabby each time I saw her. They have old DVDs for guests to check out for free but the ones we got had massive scratches on them. We did get a $25 gift card to use in their overpriced gift shop so my husband got a sweatshirt for $35, originally priced at $62.
Skip this place. Staff and management are beyond rude. I'm not sure if they understand that customers have a choice of where to stay but their disrespectful attitudes were out of step for northern Minnesota. Who needs that while on vacation at glorified cabins?! The "lake homes" are incredibly rustic and poorly maintained with below average amenities. There are multiple units within each "lake home" so there is little privacy. The interiors claim upgrades of granite countertops but do not let that fool you as the furniture is from a thrift shop. Each unit is supposedly maintained by various owners so there is no consistency in the maintenance or cleanliness. Deck chair and deck are covered in bird poop and views are blocked by dead trees. These pics are from "one of our newest units". Ugh. If that is the newest, I would hate to see the worst. Over $300 a night, you can easily find better.
This is a very nice place. The unit we stayed in was lovely, clean, and the view was amazing every morning. Our kids played in the pool and walked along Superior. The best part for us was how close we were to Gooseberry. One of our Favorite hiking trails. Great location. Love this place. Can't wait to visit it again.
Very underwhelming. We arrived on Friday of Grandma's Marathon weekend. As we checked in we were informed that the power was out and there was no running water. The usual questions ensued — any idea when power would be up? Is the restaurant open? The front desk people were inept. Here is an idea — offer us bottled water. Offer us a flashlight so we can navigate the dark hallway to our room. Ask for our phone number so you can update us on status. Offer us a free app or free kids meal in the restaurant. Every person we encountered acted indifferent to the situation. I'm not blaming them for the power outage. But exercise some basic customer service. We will never return and will let all our runner friends to avoid this place. Besides the poor service, the place is run down, the food was mediocre. The pool was small but cold. Stay away.
We recently stayed here for 2 nights & absolutely loved it! The room we stayed in was perfect for an “up north” experience. We loved that there was lake/beach access. We enjoyed walking along the rocks, taking in the views & the peacefulness that went with it. It was very quiet, despite having a full cabin of people in all of the other rooms around us & a wedding in the main lodge. The Splashing Rock Restaurant had really good food. The chicken wild rice soup was my favorite & it was delicious! As was the lingonberry butter for the bread! The servers were great! All in all, we just love the location of the lodge & we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else! Thanks GSL staff!
My Mom and I stopped for a late lunch/early dinner. We both had the cheeseburger with their home made chips sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Everything was so delicious and great service from Tim! Awesome view of the lake!
This was the most beautiful location for a wedding! The staff were very attentive and kind. I loved our time at the grand superior lodge.
Beautiful place right off of Lake Superior. Attended a wedding and the accommodations were amazing. The food was excellent and the staff was great.
Everything about this place is gorgeous and perfect. With one exception. The water pressure in the jacuzzi was awful. It took almost 45 minutes to fill the tub, because the water came out so slowly. Otherwise, everything was great.
Lady who checked us in and out was friendly and informative. Made us feel welcome. Accommodations exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
I can not recommend this place more. We were here for my brothers wedding and the staff was amazing. The cabins were beautiful and ours had the most amazing view from the living room. The patio is the perfect place for a wedding — when the sun was going down it looked like a dream. It is also super close to Gooseberry Falls for some great hiking. I 100% recommend this place!
Rooms were fine! Food was good! Had to go to main office for ice, had to use our container! Nice place for weddings ect. Believe they have time share here! Overpriced in my opinion!
Front desk staff was great! Wait staff was lukewarm. Restaurant food could be improved to match the fancy descriptions in the menu. Grilled cheese was way too hard to eat without permanently damaging one's gums. And hardly any cheese. Stuffed Brie Chicken did not arrive as described with mashed potatoes, but with tiny pieces of sweet potato. But so caramelized and sweet even I, with a major sweet tooth, couldn't eat them. Not served hot either Next night we had macaroni and cheese, kids menu, way too many different cheeses to appeal to a kid. And it was lukewarm at best. Star Harbor Sandwich, walleye was over deep fried, and thin. If you want to get any sleep do NOT stay in room 104. While the view is great and has a balcony, every time the room above turns on the water in their bathroom the pipes moan and groan, loudly.
Perfect setting! Right on Lake Superior. The sunrises were beautiful. Walking along the rocky shoreline was very relaxing. The rooms were comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace. Very close to Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse. I will definitely go back!
Excellent staff. Very nice rooms with stunning views of Lake Superior. Nice pool/hot tub. In the off season the restaurant food/service is a bit slow but they treat you well. Very close to Gooseberry Falls and a beautiful, easy drive from Duluth.
My wife and I love this place! Staying in one of the cabins for a long weekend is something we do at least twice a year. The staff is always friendly and service is amazing. Make sure to do at the Rustic Inn Cafe across the street!
Our room was very clean and pleasant, and the staff were friendly. Having a fireplace in the room was a welcome addition during our cold winter stay. The hotel is in a perfect location for numerous activities.
Amazing place to stay! Comfortable cabins that offer jacuzzi tubs, games, books, buzzles, and all expected amenities. Great view of lake superior and many additional activities to do offered by the resort! Highly recommended for a couple or family great away.
Great location and nice accommodations. The views of the lake are killer and the atmosphere is very laid back. Lots of hiking and good comfort food nearby. However, inability to control temperature setting in the cabins (you have to use electric heaters and the fire to mediate it), and super icy parking lot sometimes in the winter, like crazy icy in one experience. On site restaurant also seemed mediocre, but the bar was good.
Love every visit. Right next to the lake and near Gooseberry Falls, with rustic and homey cabins. Went with some friends for the annual wild game dinner, which was paired with Castle Danger beers. The beers were explained by a fella from CD, and went well with the various meats. The cabin we rented allows dogs, so our "puppies" were able to come with us and enjoy being out of the city for a while. The lodge has movies and games to lend, so it is a good time even in inclement weather.
This was our second trip to Grand Superior Lodge and it was as great as the first. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The room was perfect. The location gives us easy access to Two Harbors to the south as well as national parks like Split Rock to the north. We're already booked for another stay next year.
I called this past Wednesday morning around 9:30am to request an early check-in for later in the day. To my surprise, I was told our one bedroom lake home was ready and we could arrive anytime for check-in. Super! So we headed north, with a 1-hour pit stop in Duluth's Canal Park. We arrive at our destination around 2:30pm and was told our room was not ready. What?! So we went to the bar for a drink… except no one was there… so we waited… and waited for a bartender to arrive. Literally as we were about to order our drinks, we received a call that our room was ready. It all went downhill from there. Thursday night we went to the restaurant around 6:30pm. It is "seat yourself", so we did just that. 15 minutes later we received menus and our drink order was taken. Ten minutes later, we got our drinks but our server did not take our food order. So we decided rather than dine-in, my husband and I would take our food to-go. As we waited for our food, the staff literally closed the doors around 7:10pm and locked them. Nevermind people were trying to get in to eat, feed their kids (it was MEA weekend) and pick up their to-go orders. My husband and I were floored and could not wait to get out of there! We were very hesitant to return Friday for the breakfast buffet, but figured we'd try it. The buffet was more like a Trio — — bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and very overcooked French toast. Not worth the $8.99.
Held our wedding and reception over the weekend. The staff from beginning of planning all the way through check out was fantastic! Special shout out to Nancy and to Dawn for putting up with all of our phone calls and questions and remaining patient with us through it all!
We received so many compliments on how great the food was, and a few even said it was the best meal they had ever eaten at a wedding. We also enjoyed the hot chocolate bar in the morning. What a fun idea!
We stayed in a one bedroom lake home, and the view of the sunrise was spectacular. We were able to enjoy a bonfire on the last night and listen to the waves crash against the rocks.
The patio is a beautiful spot for a wedding with a wonderful back drop!
Highly recommended!
We have been coming to Grand superior Lodge for over 15 years. We love the facility with many lodging options. Very clean and well kept. Great location along the north Shore which is minutes from Duluth. It's our home away from home.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this venue, the food, decor, and the coordinator for our WEDDING! Nancy is the most helpful person we could have ever asked for; she made sure everything went smoothly. Additionally, they setup and take everything down. The serving staff was fantastic & the bar was EASILY accessed for guests to roam inside and outside of the ballroom. The views are PERFECTION. Absolutely stunning & so perfect. Highly recommend this venue!
My husband and I visited the lodge for a wedding. The ceremony was out back and looked over the lake. It was beautiful! The reception was on the lower level. Food was good and service was also good. The space was a little small for the amount of people we had in there though.
SUPER impressive view of Lake Superior. Best nights sleep in ages. Maybe 30 feet from the water. Great food at the lodge but the second day it took maybe an hour to get our food so we BARELY made check out. Still butter though.
Went here for my uncle's anniversary dinner. Food was delicious. Not as many options as we'd like for Lunch. Website doesn't say what time dinner starts and that was the menu that was what brought us there. Staff was amazing. Friendly and accurate. Atmosphere was was North Woods and there was a good beer selection. The view of Lake Superior was beautiful. Very nice patio for day or evening socializing. Very much would like to stay here for more than just dining.
The accommodations are mostly amazing. I would love to give it five stars, but I am having trouble sleeping in my room because the curtains provide privacy, but don't block light and there are three, uncovered, light bulbs I can't turn off right outside the enormous window that is my headboard. I sleep with a mask, but even that isn't enough. My husband, who is a heavier sleeper, even needs to put the blanket over his face. Also, there is no laundry facility and I'm going to have to take my kids to the laundromat on our vacation. That's just disappointing. Otherwise, the views are beautiful, lake access is perfect, and units are comfortable and attractive.
Beautiful place to stay! The rooms are gorgeous, the view of Lake Superior is even more gorgeous! The jacuzzi inside of the suite was wonderful, but takes forever to fill. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant inside the main lodge was delicious! Would stay here again, if I come back to the area. The only complaint I have is the pillows are a bit too big for me. They're rather poofy, but everything else was comfortable!
After the 1st night of our 3 night stay, there was an issue with our room that staff were unable to address promptly while we stayed there. As a result, they decided to move us to a different room, even though they were basically booked solid. There were no questions asked, no trying to convince us to stay in that room, but they apologized and immediately made it right. The views are amazing, the rooms are cozy and comfortable. The resort is close to many restaurants, shops, and parks, which is very convenient and appreciated. Staff are friendly and polite. We definitely recommend others to stay here!
Visited the Grand Superior Lodge recently for happy hour & dinner. Our server was great. I had an appetizer platter that was ok. Would maybe go to again.
Great rooms. Have everything you need. Allows to save some money by not going out to eat for every meal. Great location for a home base to hike most popular trails.
I didn't like this place at all. It said we would have AC which we did not. They gave us a broken fan to use and told us to keep the windows open. I didn't sleep at all. I was not a happy girlfriend on our 3 day trip.
The room we stayed in was fairly nice aside from a few things that were unkempt. A piece of the dresser was broken off and wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom. Apparently there was a hallway above our room because we could hear people walking up and down it all day. There is a nice pool and hot-tub. The restaurant was not as good as I remember the last time I ate there. I think the restaurant for a new chef… Unfortunately. 3 out of 5.
I stayed in one of the Lakeview Suites. It had an awesome view of Lake Superior which could be viewed easily from the floor to ceiling window. The fireplace was cozy and the hot tub relaxing. The service was good. At first I was bummed because I couldn't use my Chromecast on the HDTV, but they have a library you can checkout movies, books, and games from, so we were not lacking in the in-suite entertainment. There is an on site restaurant which I did not go to, a restaurant across the road, and several within a 15 minute drive. It's near Gooseberry Park which I will be visiting soon. I've very much enjoyed my stay here.
My wife and I stayed in the honeymoon suite in the main lodge for our anniversary, and absolutely had a blast! On our first night, we were having difficulty getting our Roku to work with the wall-mounted TV. The maintenance staff dropped by and we determined the TV was too old, so they brought us a brand new TV without hesitation. Being able to watch Netflix on our getaway really was a big deal, so major points right off the bat. For the duration of our stay, we had a 5 star time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the main lodge was well maintained and clean, not to mention QUIET. We didn't hear a peep from adjoining rooms. The restaurant served decent food at a reasonable price, and they had ice cold brew on tap at the bar. The pool area was clean and well maintained, as was the exercise area. Wi-Fi strength was excellent. And the best part about the whole experience? THE LAKESHORE VIEW! There's nothing quite like falling asleep with the patio door cracked open and hearing the waves crash into shore. Having a fireplace and jacuzzi in the room didn't hurt, either! I would absolutely recommend Grand Superior Lodge to anybody looking for a North Shore getaway! We will definitely be returning in the future!
Was at this lodge in may of 2011 for our honeymoon. Loved the jacuzzi tub in suite. And the breakfasts were amazing! Homemade and delicious! Very quiet and peaceful place to stay!
We visit Grand superior Lodge multiple times a year. It's our home away from home, we love it!
It's always my 1st request; "I wanna be as close to the water as possible"! And that is EXACTLY what we gowith The Beach Houset! RIGHT ON THE BEACH! It was amazing and cozy and romantic and awesome, and beautiful and exciting and everything a couple could want for a north shore getaway! Thank you so much and we will definitely be back! Enjoy!
Cabin was beautiful, loved being able to bring our dog. However, kitchen supplies were minimal and the oven barely worked. Staff was very friendly.
My family and I stayed at Grand Superior Lodge for two nights during the week. We were very impressed by the experience! The staff were all friendly and helpful from the people working at the desk to the people working in the on-site restaurant. We stayed in a two room cabin. The cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we could need. The beds were hard but I was able to get past that. The bathroom was very spacious which I liked because most cabin bathrooms are small and gross, not this one! Some cabins are closer to the lake than others. We didn't realize this at the time of booking and didn't specify. If renting again, we will be asking for a cabin closer to the lake. We were a little bummed that the nightly fire is held up on a hill behind the lodge instead of on the patio near the lake, we skipped the fire for this reason. The gift shop in the lodge was fun to look at. Great merchandise, of course overpriced but that's to be expected with a lodge. I'd recommend Grand Superior Lodge to anyone wanting to stay on the North Shore. We will be returning next year because we enjoyed it so much! The restaurant that is inside the lodge was great. We actually had two dinners and two breakfasts there. More on the expensive side but the convenience of being so close to the cabin was well worth it for us. Great food, drinks, and service. The restaurant also overlooks the lake which was a huge plus.
The resort itself was nice — Food in the restaurant was AMAZING and the resort staff was all very polite & nice… — — but the room (we stayed in a lakeshore cabin #410) was Not great — — For $340/night you should have a clean, comfortable room. We did not. When we walked in the cabin, there were cob webs on the light fixtures, windows & corners of the walls (not that high up either) — The vents were caked with dust. Attention to detail in cleaning is not on the list at least in the rooms. We are a family of 4 & needed to use the pull out couch/bed. When we opened it up, there weren't any sheets on & had to search the cabin closets to find the linens. When I did find them, they were wet (EEW) and only 1 blanket was given. I know it was humid that week, but sheets should not be WET especially when all tied together with a string. My husband and child had to sleep on cold wet sheets and froze that 1st night. Thankfully on the 2nd day we were able to get 2 additional blankets. Needless to say between spiders in the tub, fixtures and on the walls we did not want to spend a lot of time IN the cabin. Which was a shame because it had such a beautiful view of lake superior. The 3 stars is for the hotel staff we interacted with and the amenities (all you can eat smores every night) — — But I would NOT recommend actually staying here. At least not for the price — — This really should be a $150/night place — — Not a Luxurious resort… Very sad.
Great experience on the North Shore — clean, beautiful and will return.
Absolutely great lodge! Very friendly staff and activities for kids. Even free DVD rentals and dvd players in rooms. Restaurant on site has great food and drinks. Love this place and you will too.
Friendly staff. Nice room for a 3 for 2 night price. Nice that they provide movies (recent ones at that) and games to borrow for your stay. Great view within our room in the main lodge. Breakfast was small but filling and they make their own waffle batter. Overall I would recommend a stay there.
We got engaged here, spent our honeymoon here, and decided to make an effort to make an annual trip back. First, the location of this place is great. It can be very peaceful and relaxing, and was during our first 2 trips on non-weekend days. The negatives about all 3 trips are this place is absurdly overpriced, run down, and shabby. We stayed in the same room 3 years in a row, and every year mentioned several maintenance issues. After 3 years not a single issue was fixed including a door that didn't shut or lock properly, and rattled all day and night. Imagine the relaxing night of sleep you'll have when it sounds like someone is trying to get into your room every time the wind blows or someone walks by your room. You can tell the owners of this place aren't investing a dime in maintenance. Honestly, if not for the sentimental value we never would have returned. On our last trip we had the same issues as always with our run down room, but also had several new issues. The heating system was not working so the whole place was 80-90 degrees including our room, we had people partying outside our window until 2 AM every night, our hot tub and shower were full of dead bugs, the mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable, and we generally had a terrible stay. We mentioned all of these concerns to staff, and they did absolutely nothing to address any of them. After spending a ton of money for a long weekend get away we left exhausted, frustrated, and very unsatisfied.
We came here for our honeymoon on Jan 1st and loved it! To hear the waves from the lake crashing the shore line while sitting in the hot tub was amazing. Our room was great and the service was excellent! Can't wait to come back.
Fun family place. We enjoyed our stay here. Definitely take a trip up to gooseberry falls and split rock. The town of Two Harbors is nothing to write home about.
Nice establishment. Workers bring firewood if you need more while on the beach. Our main window's blind did not work, we had to prop it open with the closet bar, the power was out the second morning (storms rolled through around two a. M. Power went out approximately 8:30 that morning) for approximately five hours. We had to bump our vacation ahead several weeks and only booked the Superior Lodge about 30 days in advance of our stay, which may have been why we thought it was a little expensive. This is our fourth trip to Minnesota's North Shore, the Grand Superior Lodge was a nice stay, but for the price, we we'll probably stay elsewhere in the future.
My wife and I visited for a long weekend for our honey moon. We loved the view of the lake from our cabin and the resort grounds are awesome! The rooms were clean and very much worth the price. The bar and restaurant also very good food and views of the Lake. The only negatives about this resort is that the rooms are not sound proof at all. The family next to us had little kids and they were very loud and when they would watch movies it was almost like we were in the room with them. If you are looking for privacy make sure you rent a full cabin to yourself. Very poor internet and T. V. Internet never worked and the TV channels were all fuzzy and my wife and I could not watch the Vikings game in our room because the channel would skip in and out.
This resort was Gorgeous! My sister just got married on July 7 and this resort was perfect for her day. The rooms were so unique and HUGE! We had everything we needed in our townhome and the views were breathtaking. I was very impressed with how cozy and warm each room was. We were able to entertain a large group of people in our townhome and the bathrooms were big enough for many people to help the bride get ready on her big day.

I’m gluten-free and they had so many options. The burgers were awesome and I loved the Truffle Fries. Dawn was our server and she was awesome!
