Duluth Hotels near Great Lakes Aquarium

We loved our stay at South Pier Inn. Thank you to owner Betty for your hospitality. We instantly felt that we made a new friend. The room was very nice and clean.

The South Pier Inn is our very favorite place to stay in Duluth. The rooms are all super comfy and cosy — we have stayed Fall, early spring, winter, and summer —and all our visits were exceptional.

We stayed at the Lodge over a long weekend and absolutely loved it! The staff is so kind, the atmosphere of the hotel is very comfortable and welcoming, and the area is unbelievable.

Great place to stay, very friendly staff. Very clean hotel. Very convenient location to shops and lift bridge. Breakfast at the Lodge is a great way to start your day. We will be back. 😃

Wonderful location. We had a harbor view room with a balcony. Room was set up nice, clean and it was fun sitting out on the balcony overlooking the marina.

Stayed one night. Front desk people were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet is awesome! We stayed first level lakeside. Beautiful view. Room was clean and had all the amenities we needed.

★★★★★ Absolute Perfection in Canal Park!
Our stay at the Lift Bridge Lodge was nothing short of spectacular.

Very nice hotel and would stay here again It is convenient for everything going on. Breakfast was good! Beds seemed like fulls not queen's.

The location is awesome, right on the water in the St Louis river harbor with great views of the lift bridge, easy/short walking access to the Amsoil arena/DECC, canal park and directly adjacent to

Our favorite place to stay in Duluth. Rooms are spacious and have a big window for viewing the lift bridge. Comfy Beds.
Food is great atmosphere is wonderful. Great entertainment at Bayfront!

I love staying in unique non chain hotels and the Oliver Inn did not disappoint. We stayed in the Robert Zimmerman room which shares a wall with the bar and has a private bathroom.

2/5/26 UPDATE A rep from the hotel followed up with me and he was very nice.

Great place to stay right on the water. Beautiful view and within walking distance of many of the museums and attractions. The rooms are what you'd expect at a Hampton, which is always nice.

Nice newer hotel with windows that open, comfortable beds, nice continental breakfast, luggage organization rack in room, clean/fresh bathrooms, and booked a water view.

This is a great economy hotel. Awesome location just across the lift bridge with view of the harbor and decent amenities.
Room rates are very reasonable especially when you book a week or two out.

It's a beautifully maintained hotel on the waterfront, overlooking a marina. My grandbabies enjoyed the proximity to all those boats! Tina greeted us warmly and we felt very welcome.

I was in town to run Grandma's Marathon in late June and stayed at Hostel du Nord. I had a great experience and would recommend this spot for any solo travelers.

Clean, affordable, great staff and great location! The full bed bunk has plenty of space. Much cheaper than a hotel and avoids the hassle of camping.

A historic lakefront hotel which was a true gem to spend the weekend in Duluth.

Did not stay at the inn, but we had dinner at the Mexican restaurant there. The food was surprisingly good, including the margaritas, and generous plates like the combo enchilada platter I had.

We were there 2 nights for my father’s heart surgery. We had 2 rooms. Both were very nice and clean. My dad’s wife had breakfast/ room service one day and was impressed.

This hotel holds a special place in my heart. We live out of state, but have a lot of family in Duluth, so we’ve stayed here during trying times & exciting times. The staff is unmatched!

This is our go to place to stay in Duluth. The staff is always super friendly and helpful.
If you want to just walk to Canal Park they are connected to the Skywalk system. Super easy walk.

Room wa good, no microwave though. Service was great. Pool had to much chlorine in it. Not sure why you'd want a balcony room to the pool room.

We had originally booked a stay at The Suites Hotel, but ultimately our plans changed and we decided to cancel.

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. One of the only places we could find that takes large dogs.

We love everything about Solglimt B&B. The location is perfect and right on the water where you can see the ships entering the canal. The beach is right there so you can easily walk in the beach.

Such a wonderful stay! Very friendly and great views! Clean rooms and quiet! Loved the fresh baked cookies and pop/water always available. Breakfast was amazing and such personal touches.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was excellent, very comfortable, and the location was outstanding. We will definitely come back and stay here again more than once. Highly recommended!

The location was perfect—right in the heart of downtown, which was really important to us. Even though it was cold, we still enjoyed getting out every day, walking our dog along the bayside and

I was a bit nervous when I made the reservation for this hotel as the reviews were mixed. However, this retro landmark is a gem.

It was a nice hotel. The revolving restaurant on top was the best part! Great food, beautiful views of Duluth! Our server in the morning, Casey, was over the top with hospitality and performance!

I have been coming to Duluth since I was six months old and have carried the tradition into adulthood.

I stayed a few days at the Thor unit, it was fantastic. The living room and bedroom both have large picture windows with INCREDIBLE lake views.
