Reviews of Historic Plains Hotel 3*
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel anywhere. Hotel staff, guests and non guests are allowed to wonder around the hotel checking to see if doors are open. IF THEY FIND A DOOR OPEN OR UNLOCK THE DOOR THEMSELVES THEY RANSACK THE ROOM AND STEAL ALL VALUABLES! A smiley face at the front counter decieves you and hotel staff had keys to the so called locked doors. The owner tells me that vagrants are allowed to sleep in the stairwells of a historic hotel in the middle of downtown! No cameras on the stay area floors, allows hotel staff a not so cool excuse to tell you when your belongings are ransacked. The hotel staff was not helpful at all in finding a solution to a very big mistake. 2000$ dollars cash as well as insurance paperwork and car registration was stolen from my wallet in a pair of pants that were in a bag next to my bed. The hotel owner then perceeded to kick me out at 3am and told to check in to another hotel with out any solution or resolving as I was clearly upset and didn't get offered a refund or any resolution. I suggest everyone read this review before you become the next victim of the plains hotel!
Had the best steak. Their appetizers are a good before dinner treat.
We stayed here 4years ago and had a wonderful time. We found ourselves in the area again and decided to stay here again. We love the ambiance. The people are so friendly and accommodating. And the food in the restaurant is really good.
Very nice hotel. Do happy to see that most of the original things have been kept intake. Sure, it's old but if you like history you'll love this place. It was very clean and everything was kept up. We're just a bit disappointed that the restaurant and bar were not open… Will be nice once they complete the renovations!
The hotel is a historic treasure but the parking is away from hotel. It was not clean in areas and the front desk was a joke. If they would have told me about the parking situation I would not have stayed. Also they lied about a discount they were going to give me. No AARP or Triple A here. My daughter left a bag in the room filled with items that were priceless with memories but did cost her over one hundred dollars. She called and all that was in the bag was a hat and key chains. Dishonest housekeeping staff. So would I recommend this hotel not in a hundred years. So historic yes but not a trustworthy place and integrity is not a word used here. Oh it is suppose to be haunted I hope the ghost haunt the staff that stole my daughter’s things.
Great location for walking to restaurants, shopping, museums. Beautiful hotel.
What a great hotel! Front desk staff was so accommodating. She gave us a tour of the haunted room and answered all of our questions. The beds were so comfortable. Bathrooms need a little updating but I loved the homey atmosphere and creaky floors. Can’t wait for the restaurant to reopen.
My family and I recently stayed at the Historic Plains Hotel and it was the BEST experience I have ever had. From the moment we walked it until after we left. Front desk employees made us feel like we were at home. They welcomed are children and gave them a tour. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. After we got home one of the kids realized they left $290.00 dollars in the room. When I called they walked straight to the room while I was on the phone and found the money. They didn't charge me to mail it back to my house, made sure it arrived certified. I will never stay any where else in Cheyenne, WY besides here. The price was great and the stay was even better!
Beautiful town only down side is the parking is a block away so that’s crappy but overall it’s absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️
Amazing, professional staff, and one of the best hotels in Cheyenne. They make you feel very safe, in a some times sketchy after dark town. Thanks to the Plains Hotel.
Love this historic property! A wonderful piece of Cheyenne’s amazing history!
We enjoyed being downtown. We walked around all the floors and looked at the art. Spectacular. The beds were very comfortable. We will go back there next time we are in town.
Beautiful hotel, wonderful decor and friendly staff.
This place has to one of the nicest places that I have ever visited. The people were great, the room large, nice and clean. Food in the restaurant is outstanding! The service is great! I will return again! Thank you for the nice stay.
Beautiful, historic, friendly staff, great room, wonderful breakfast.
Michael and Christine at the front desk were awesome. Great food and great atmosphere and decor in the restaurant. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner and we loved her passion for the restoration of this historic gem!
Nice historic place, nice rooms, very nice personal. But cant rely on shuttle.
Dirty, no parking and terrible customer service. Urine in the elevator, feces in the hallway, terrible breakfast and I was over charged on my rm and then hung up on when I expressed disappointment. The manager admitted to over charging me, but said he was not going to give me a refund because of my bad attitude. Wow! Misogyny at it’s finest. I did not yell or raise my voice for that matter, but because I was not pleased and expressed my disappointment I’m not getting a proper refund. I will blast this poorly run hotel and then listen to Astrid’s poor excuses for a poorly run hotel! Clean up the pet urine in the elevator for starters and train your staff to listen so I don’t get upset explaining my story 3 times. Also, do not repeat a single female guests rm number over and over again putting her safety at risk. This is literally one of the first things I learned when I worked in hotels.
It's aight. Staff pretty nice. Awesome breakfast.
Staff is friendly service was good and it's a really cool place.
Nice historic place downtown. Great service, comfortable room. Great history and very friendly staff. Restaurant has great food for a fraction on Denver prices. Worth the trip up 25.
Stumbled upon this magnificent old hotel 2 years ago and spent the night. The next morning I toured around looking at all the beautiful new renovations and the historic furniture and paraphernalia. The restaurant serves excellent food including some organics and even organic wine!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable. Of course the rooms are somewhat small but it was built in 1911. That is the charm of the place. I liked the old tile floors. There were updated sink fixtures. The original small elevator was slow but again I appreciated the charm of it. I’m glad we stayed there. The street traffic was a little noisy if you are a light sleeper. Staff was very nice.
Highly recommended, such a wonderful atmosphere.
Beautiful Hotel in the center of town. EXCELLENT customer service.
Beautiful hotel, and very kind staff. We mis-booked by a day, and they found us a room and didn’t charge us for the missed night. They are also pet friendly with snuggles and treats for the fur babies!
Great old atmosphere. Lots of things to see and do in the immediate area.
The decorations were amazing. Many historical items, paintings and informative items thru-out the foyer and hallways. The staff is extremely knowledgeable of the area. The free breakfast was great.
Stop and read! wanna talk about a dump. Nice lobby and then I arrived at my 1st room. Nasty, dirty, air conditioner from 1960 falling out of the wall. Furniture from "yard sales? " you may think "themed rooms" — nope. Asked for a different room. Same crap. Carpet smells and leaves you feet black with dirt. Toile did not flush. Shower drain stopped up. Dining room is denny's gone bad. Never again.
Great people — historically amazing! Just love the place — ever since I was a little girl!
It was charming and cozy. It carried a lot of history and the best thing about it was being located at the center of downtown Cheyenne right across the Historic Depot. Truthfully, its a two star hotel with a three star price. The bathroom needed work and needed more amenities.
Full of character and history. Free breakfast was a plus. Savannah was a true gem and extremely helpful with our stay! Perfect location downtown. Pleasant little lounge with live music and JJ is an amazing bartender that is absolutely out of this world! Queen suite was spacious and lighting was dim. Housekeeping is in need of much improvement though. Whenever room was so called cleaned we came in to see the bedspread pulled up over the sheets just as they were left when got up from sleeping. This is why the 4 star rating. Very disgusting…
Loved loved loved my stay here. Every single staff member interacted with was extremely friendly and genuinely kind. Restaurant owners in hotel has a wonderful Prime rib and NY strip. There hostess Tammy is a delight and server Devon were so welcoming and great fun. All the ladies in the front desk were amazing. Truly enjoyed my stay there.
We think it's really haunted! We stayed 2 nights and it was definitely an adventure. The rooms are huge and comfy, but no hot water available so cold showers got old. The free breakfast was decent. We were two doors down from "the room" and every time we left our room we had to get our keys reactivated to get back in. The second night the fire alarm went off around 1 am. That morning the water was running yellow out of the sink. The spookiest part was that the picture that we commented on how spooky we thought it was as we were walking down to breakfast was missing when we came back upstairs from breakfast. It was found on top of a fire extinguisher box after we asked the maid about where it went. Also I think I got a picture of the ghost while I was taking pictures of our room. These two pics were taken within seconds of each other or less from the same angle with the same flash setting. Anyway, we'd stay here again if we ever pass through Cheyenne WY.
Loved this hotel. It is a place full of character and history. We are dinner and breakfast both there and enjoyed them both. We stayed in the queen suite. It had plenty of room to spread out. Enjoyed exploring the area around the hotel as well.
Overpriced, furishings in the room appeared to be from seconded hand store, room lighting was poor the one lamp was broken, no bathroom sink with mirror, the one elevator which was small only a few people could get in at one time.
I was in awe when I walked in, the food was great, the afternoon staff was marvelous, the bathroom reminded me of the family home where I grew up, complete with luke warm water for the shower, but hey I was on the 4th floor!, Unfortunately the young man at the front desk the next morning was rather rude. Except for his attitude it was a great experience.
For historic read old and decrepit. Bathroom was pink pot with green tiles and brown floor with a few missing. Sink dripped constantly and shower took three minutes to get lukewarm. Dinner was a choice of two entrees and one desert and was cold when served. Breakfast was help yourself and the only saving grace for the whole place. Avoid if you can.
Clean, I love the antiques, the staff is very friendly. Coffee and mini fridge. The restaurant has a lot of potential, but it just reopened. I didn't care for breakfast, wet eggs, greasy bacon, but dinner, prime rib, was amazing. The surrounding area is historical and interesting. Train depot area is nice to walk around. There was a music festival across the street in the depot area.
Great location. Love historic hotels of the West. Good complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning. Three brew pubs within a couple blocks too. Nice bar off the lobby as well. Friendly bartender.
If you like historical and vintage decor you will love this hotel. The location is perfect and restaurant and lounge is great with live music some nights. The only drawback for me is the hotel room itself. It's very old and dated with paint chips everywhere. We had a queen size room with a great view but it was TINY and lacking even some basics like tissues, HOT water and extra pillows (only 2 provided). We stayed for 3 nights and HAD TO request housekeeping. I ended up cleaning it myself and waited for garbage removal and towels. This place could be a real gem with some room improvements that is desperately needed. A renovated room can look clean and fresh without stripping it's history and character.
I called ahead to ask about parking and was told to park one block away behind the kum & go and that there will be plenty of room for my truck and trailer. When we arrived we found that it was much farther than one block away and the parking lot was located between a strip club and a railyard. It was full of potholes that would have eaten my trailer. It was not well lit and we did not feel safe there. The neighborhood/ historic downtown feels sketchy and uninteresting. I parked on the street full expecting to get broken into. The service at the front desk was shaky and the room was very shabby. The window AC unit was sealed with duct tape and had insulation exposed around it. We cancelled our reservation for the second night and decided to move on. If we had stayed we would be facing a 2 hour limit on all street parking in the area from 10am to 5pm.
If you're looking for a great place to stay while you're in Cheyenne this is definitely the place the breakfast is an all-you-can-eat hot Buffet I had two types of eggs sausage bacon potatoes and so much other stuff that I couldn't eat. On top of that the beds are very comfortable flat panel TVs and the front desk staff and everyone I encountered was very friendly. Highly recommended wish there was more hotels like this still around.
The historical spiel this place pushes is all it has to push. Cramped and awkwardly furnished rooms, power strips running across floors, cold showers with no presser, and the missing floor tiles missing in this bathroom. Oh, and you must step up into the bathroom. This step is a friggin trip hazard or at least a toe destroyer.
I booked a room, however I did not stay in the room. I didn't so much as sit down or use the restroom before asking for a refund and finding another hotel. The very friendly girl at the desk said it was no problem, that I would be reimbursed. 2 weeks later, 2 emails later, several phone calls later, still no response and no reimbursement. Finally spoke with the manager, Luke, when the phone was routed to his office and he actually answered, who is the rudest person I have ever spoken to regarding a simple, unresolved issue. Telling me he "isn't going to give you $100 back because you were traveling alone and uncomfortable" and something about "having a line out the door of guests" that want to stay there. Poor, poor management and a total turd to talk to. At this point, it isn't about the money. I've never been talked to the way that guy spoke to me on the phone. Horrible customer service, and I was billed for a room I didn't stay in. I chose this hotel because I like to support local businesses, but be aware you won't receive customer support. Also, I can't be sure it was this place, but I had to cancel my credit card after staying here because someone charged $800 to it. Makes me wonder, with how hard up Luke sounds for business that he can't refund someone for a room she never stayed in. Walk in the lobby, take a tour, but stay somewhere else.
I have stayed her twice, the staff and shuttle drivers have been very nice. The rooms where clean and the bed gave a good nights sleep. The breakfast buffet in my opinion was very good. I haven't seen and ghosts or anything that resembled one as a previous reviewer stated.
Wanted a historic hotel in cheyenne, plains filled the bill. Great old school hotel lobby with shops, restaurants, bars, creaky old elevator. Rooms modern enough with vintage charm. Desk staff great. Located in the hipster part of cheyenne, piercings, tattoos, chicks with purple and green hair, bars, galleries, coffee shops in walking distance. Great great spot.
The best thing about this hotel is the friendly staff. Besides that… it's kind of a bust. Maybe it was just our room, but we we're given a room that definitely was not cleaned and smelled like dogs. I have dogs myself, but when I'm traveling I don't want my hotel to smell like it.
The people working at this hotel are incredibly kind and caring. When they learned that 2 of their guests were in town for a parent's funeral, the staff created a hand written card, signed by many people. This is the kind of incredible service you will find at this beautiful and historic hotel.
The people are really nice. The staff are very helpful and understanding. The building has a convertible feel about it and the room's are nice as well. It's easy to get around from there as well. I would recommend it to anyone that is on vacation, broke down, or just needs a night or two of rest. The place is the best hotel I've ever went to the price is fair too. I miss it already.
A wonderful historic place to stay! The rooms reflect the time period when this hotel was in it's heyday. Artwork hangs on the walls and line the hallways to remind the visitor of a time long since past. Furniture throughout the hotel was spectacular to look at. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. My one disappointment was that the old bar downstairs no longer served it's purpose. I highly recommend this hotel.
This is a beautiful old historic hotel renovated to modern standards. Staff are friendly. We did not see the ghost that supposedly lives in the hotel but the power in one of our rooms inexplicably went off and refused attempts to be turned back on. We were given an upgraded room for the inconvenience.
The place is under new ownership and they have upgraded the elevator so that it works they've also put in some infrastructure like a new hot water tank. The rooms are cozy and reminiscent of the turn of the last century. The bathrooms have modern fixtures. The restaurant is kind of an on-again-off-again thing. The hotel has been in such disrepair for so long that they have kind of lost their customer base, plus it's in old downtown Cheyenne which isn't exactly the hopping place but it's near the main drag through town where the tourist shops are in the Museum's and it's just across the park from the old Union Pacific train depot which itself has a lot of charm. We found the staff very helpful and friendly and relaxed which was a nice thing cuz when I'm in a hotel I'm never looking for the New York experience — urine Wyoming after all. If you can enjoy being in the history of the place it's a nice day. The rooms are well acoustically separated from each other, the heating system works fine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
Had lunch at the dining room, soup and salad buffet. Service was excellent, very friendly staff. Food was great. Went there to check it out for possible visit by relatives next fall, staff was very informative and helpful, we received lots of information about the best times to book. We have elderly relatives wanting to visit from out of state and were looking for the quietest times of week, etc. As well as best rooms for their needs. Overall a very good experience.
The Plains is an outstanding hotel when it comes to history! Fun the original tile flooring to the artifacts in the hotel, it's a dream for any history buff. Located in central downtown Cheyenne, you are around everything there is downtown. The rooms need an update but it's a great, historic hotel nonetheless.
Nice historic hotel built 1911. Small room with microwave, refrigerator, table/chair, and tiny bathroom at a good price. Works well for overnight stay, and next to Highway 85. Located south side of town and across from Cheyenne Depot Plaza that houses a museum (entry fee required). Offers a decent hot breakfast, which is included in hotel price. Parking along street free at limited hours. About two blocks away, free city parking for a day for tourists only.
I stayed at the Plains Hotel two nights ago and loved it. Though I had visited Wyoming many years ago, I had never been to Cheyenne. I didn't want to leave. The staff was excellent. There's a whole lot of heart there. If you read the history… and appreciate the culture… this is the place to stay. Being a lover of Western culture, I thoroughly enjoyed the "atmosphere" and plan on staying there in the future because I "will" be back. If you are looking for cookie cutter, glitzy hotels and aren't able to appreciate the history of this hotel… stay elsewhere. Personally, I can't wait to go back.
This hotel is a step back in time in the best way! Every possible aspect of its 1911 original architecture is well and beautifully still preserved. From the ghostly history for us ghost enthusiasts to the history's behind its original construction for the history's buff in general, its fascinating because even the rooms are kept as close to original order as possible. And to top all this off, the staff is five star! Friendly, courteous and helpful, the prices could easily double and be well worth it. This place is a gem worth any travel time! The town it's situated in is quaint, historical and has lots of great food, shopping and local events. Take it from someone who travels the US nine months out of the year, this place is a respite from a world moving so fast we lose ourselves in it. The best five star hotel does not deliver the flavor, the service, or the fun that this place does. Well done, bravo, and high five to you! My hat is off to this owner for a perfect establishment, a compliment I am very, very very VERY careful to give out.
The appearance of the lobby & breakfast area was nice. I was not impressed with the rooms although they were clean. The breakfast bar was nice. I love having milk in the cartoon & a nice variety of food. I would recommend.
We loved our stay at the Plains Hotel! We loved the history and the historic architecture and western decor. The room was modest but clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We had no trouble from the resident ghosts. The breakfast was hearty and delicious in a beautiful restaurant setting. Our only complaint was the parking which was inconvenient but free. Cheyenne is a charming town, and the Plains Hotel added to the charm of our way too brief experience.
Old, historic hotel with emphasis on old. It needs a facelift. The staff were prompt, pleasant, and helpful. The free morning breakfast was disappointing… I've had better at inexpensive chain hotels. The only working elevator is tiny. The room was clean with a small bathroom. The main lobby has some beautiful historic features such as a gorgeous stained glass ceiling, but overall it needs an infusion of cash to make repairs and upgrades.
July 29 — August 4, 2017:
• We arrived before 4 pm and attempted to check in on July 29. Our family had 3 rooms. We were told it would be $75 per room to check in early. We were told though that the rooms would be together. We came back around 8-9 pm to check in. Two rooms were on the 5th floor and one room was on the 4th floor.
• My room was on the 5th floor. It was so hot in the room and the window unit air conditioner wasn’t helping. The electrical plug in by the night stand, was coming out of the wall. There was someone else’s hair in the shower. The complimentary shampoo and conditioner were open and half empty.
• After 3 days on the 5th floor, all three rooms were moved down to the 3rd floor.
• The 3rd floor room was much cooler, the air conditioner worked. However, there was no hair dryer or alarm clock. Also, there was a box in the area behind the TV that was coming out of the wall. One-day housekeeping came in and made flowers with our fresh towels, but did not make the bed.
• There was only 1 elevator, that can barely fit 4 adults, for the whole building.
• The fire alarm went off every day, other than two, during our stay. One time at 4:30am, while we were staying on the 5th floor (I have 2 small children ages 4 & 5).
• There is NO parking close to the hotel. Their parking lot is 2-3 blocks away. We drove around for 30 minutes trying to find it, then ended up using the city parking garage because it was closer.
Pros: The staff is super friendly and have been well trained in their jobs. Staff is very knowledgeable about cities history, restaurants within walking distance, and activities We were in a suite which was a large room and even with queen bed, couch, 2 large stuffed chairs and a desk did not feel crowded. The lobby is beautiful and it's 1800's theme {which runs throughout the hotel} rivals the opulence of some modern, expensive hotels. Very inexpensive for the service and size of our suite. Cons: The first thing I noticed upon opening the door was that the carpet looked filthy. It was vacuumed but there were large dirty spots throughout. It needed to be shampooed or replaced. The floor above us squeaked very loudly. If they were walking around upstairs, I was awake.
Service is great! The front counter attendant was very nice and talkative. Hotel is quite old (over 100 years) so I wasn't expecting much in the first place. Rooms were very good sized! Pullout couch was uncomfortable (but honestly are any of them). The bathrooms are outdated but that is to expect in an older hotel and the water pressure/temp was great. The view of the town is wonderful. The free breakfast was delicious, especially the biscuits and gravy and potatoes. It's a quiet hotel inside but there is quite a bit of street noise at night since it's near train tracks and in the middle of town. All in all, I would stay here again if I ever find myself in the area.
Beautiful building and interior. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great location. Comfortable room. Only complaint is the pillows were flat.
Beautiful lobby and nice area to get a coffee. We stopped in during Frontier Days and the whole town was packed with a very westerny feel. No hangings though.
We stayed there a year ago last spring. Our room was dirty, The bathroom was dirty. Waited at least 15 min. Before water got warm. We stayed the night before at my brothers house. Stayed 2 nights with you,. My husband, grandson and myself. The beds were too small for 2 adults. My husband slept on the couch. We got up the next day left. My husband had bites all over him. Bed bugs! told them no big deal apparently! had to find a laundry mat wash all our clothes. I hope the new owner doesn't let that happen. Will never stay there again.
I stay at the Plains just once a year and the quality has been consistent: It's over 100 years old, and it is charming, but it is rarely very well kept. On this visit, for example, I found a used Bic razor on the floor near the desk and some pocket change on the floor in the bathroom. It clearly isn't cleaned well. It IS probably the best (though, possibly, only) hotel option in downtown Cheyenne.
Everything was quite small but the staff treated me very well.
Stopped in for breakfast as I stopped by to pickup someone from work. Great food at a very low price!
We chose this hotel for all of our wedding guests and we had a great experience. The historic charm may not be for everyone but all of our guests sure loved it! It is a beautiful building and the rooms were nicely appointed and beds were very comfy — even for a nervous bride! :)
Very disappointed. Historic must mean old and in need of repair. I won't be back.
Loved every minute of our stay there. Big rooms, great restaurant and friendly people. If we go West again, Cheyenne and the Plaines hotel will be on our agenda.
Don't let the pictures fool you, this is an over-priced tourist trap. This hotel is poorly renovated, our air conditioner was a joke and leaked all night, the renovation was poorly done with light fixtures that looked like they were from Lowe's. The renovated bathroom had black and white tile and was quite pleasant until you saw the $20.00 light brown mirror, also probably from Lowes. The soda pop floor from 1920 would look great re-grouted and clean but sadly that was not the case. The elevator is original and slow beyond belief. You had to push the elevator button twice and wait 3-5 minutes (there are only 5 floors). The Grille was ok, but sticky tabletops make me nervous. We paid the same price as we would have had we stayed a night at the Brown Palace here in Denver, which is impeccable. I get that Cheyenne is a small town with small town people running it, no problem with that. Just don't charge big city prices and advertise how glamours it is when it is, in fact, a smelly dump.
Steeped in history and local flavor, the facility itself was delightful. No towels or sanitizer in the under-equipped gym. Opened the sofa/sleeper and there were crumbs and hair in the sheets. Front desk didn't seem appropriately concerned with my comments. No offer to correct. Probably won't stay again. RESTAURANT was delightful, good service and unique items on menu.
Accidentally charged my debit card $102 in addition to the room charge. Claim they don't have any way to reverse it.
Me and My Bride to be were planning our WEDDING RECEPTION at the Plains. The staff was unprofessional and really didn't seem to care about us. We waited two weeks for them to print hotel reservations so we could send them out with are invitations. The staff never tried sitting down with us together. It seems like they made up prices as we got closer and closer to are date. The communication was really bad. We were treated like just another paycheck to them. Just really bad all around. And pretty pricey for how old it is.
The hotel is great! The staff is awesome and super friendly! When you order breakfast, it's really good! Dinner? awesome! Lunch is horrib;e. I had soggy bread and frozen fries. My sister in-law had frozen fries and her sandwich tasted off. In my opinion they charge way to much for this.
Wow. It is so bad. Room smelled like rank wet BO, it couldn't be any smaller or else the bed wouldn't fit, and the furnishings, fixtures, carpets, TV were all decrepit and filthy. Dirty marks on bed, pillows and towels. Toilet had someone else's business still in it. A/C was a window unit from 1972 and had a decal, "Don't turn past setting 8 or you'll break the AC" LOL how'd I get sucked into staying here?! You can get better accommodation at a homeless shelter (and heck, the shelter might provide a breakfast too).
Maybe I'm a sucker for history, but I just love this hotel. Granted, I have stayed in a lot of nicer hotels. But I've also stayed in a lot worse. The staff is always helpful, everything is handled quickly; I really couldn't have asked for more on that end. Sure, the hot water takes a little while to heat up. The Wi-Fi didn't reach my room. The TV in the room was ridiculously old. But it's still pretty cool. Just stay out of the restaurant. You know what? I was going to give this 4 stars, but that Wi-Fi really did bug me. Maybe I'll take it down to three stars for that. Modernize if you're going to modernize, or stay nostalgic.

Hotel staff goes into rooms occupied by tenant's when the tenants aren't there and steals money and objects in the room. NON SECURE hotel and was told by the new owner that vegrants are often seen in the stairwell of the hotel. People are often checking unlocked doors and if they are open they go into the rooms. This weekend I worked all weekend at the expo across the street and when I went to work, hotel staff got in my room and ransacked my belongings and stole approximately 2000$ in cash and my car insurance papers and registrations to my bikes. I HIGHLY don't recommend this hotel to stay at, because it's demeanor and I honestly hope this hotel shuts down business until you can get your employees to stop stealing from your customers.
