If I could give it zero stars I would. We paid extra for a lake view room. Yeah, you can see the lake If you tilt your head a squint. Through the cars that are parked behind the hotel in the parking lot. The bed is like a rock. I woke up every 2 hours and my husband couldn't turn his head the next day. There was mold coming through the paint in the ceiling. Oh and if you wanted to take a relaxing shower after a long day on the island you can, if you're 5'2". I'm 5'7" and I had to completely bend in half to wash my hair. My husband is 6'1" and it hit him in the belly button. If we weren't being penalized a nights cost to cancel we would have. If you have the ability to stay somewhere else, DO IT! I will never stay at another Days Inn.

Stayed one night, and checked out 3hrs early. The surfaces of tables and counters felt and looked dirty. The comforter had a brown stain on it, and the bottom sheet had a hole in it. Good thing we brought bedding with us! Needs better housekeeping, and updated. The free breakfast was not appealing, neither was the dining area. It says online they have an arcade, but they actually send you next door to a different hotels arcade. Wish I could have seen the conditions prior to reserving. It worked, but would have appreciated a room that felt clean. I had to disinfect prior to touching anything. The pool was the best thing there to offer. But the pool house was not the cleanest.

Room is comfortable and conveniently located within walking distance to everything. Pillows are a bit small but they give you 4 so it's sufficient. Highly reccommended for the price.

Hotel is outdated and definitely not kept up! Continental breakfast is disgusting! Would recommendstaying someplace else the extra $20 bucks you save a night isn't worth it! The front desk staff were nice.

It was fine. Felt clean imside the rooms. Hallway was gross. Breakfast was a sad display.

Room had some outdated components, broken trim pieces, but were clean. Pool and hot tub were clear and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to just walk to the ferry for Mackinac Island, and was able to buy discounted tickets in the lobby. We would stay again.

Picked room with Jacuzzi after walking around town get back from room turn on Jacuzzi and crud comes out of jets. Front desk sends housekeeping she sprays it adds water turns on same results she repeats 3 times she says all set and leaves now 10:30 at night. I start filling then turn on and more crud comes out. Manager disounts 20 for the night promises it will be cleaned tomorrow. Next day we stop back to room about 3:30 Manager had promised she would check it herself well she hadn't it was still full of crud she discounts 20 again which was the extra charge for Jacuzzi. They say well its the first time anyone rented the room for year. I had reserved the room on Wednesday so if they knew it was an issue they had time to correct. The picture of bugs on floor and torn wall paper are the from the bathroom. The bugs on windowsill were from breakfast room they were still there second day in both areas even after house keeping cleaned my room. The worst part was holiday weekend no other hotels had rooms available. The room rate was 199 dollars for saturday night in Makinaw City. Had I know what I was going to get for my money I would have stayed home. The owners should be embarrassed the manager should be fired. The city should shut them down they are an embarrassment to the city. I will be posting this same review on evey Hotel review site I can find. Have a nice day.

Rooms were clean however not very spacious. Breakfast service was good. Conveniently located near Star Line and Shepler's Ferry to Mackinack Island.

Great experience at Days Inn. We got the cheapest room and we upgraded to a newer room and what a difference. The Manager Jody is Amazing. She went out of way to get better newer room. It cost us 10$ more a day but we'll worth it. If you have a issue talk to Jody. The hotel was in a great location close to ferry dock to Mackinaw island and to bike trails and down town. If you want a bigger room just pay a bit more and if you want a lakeview room pay a bit more but it will be well worth it. You get what you pay for.

Not a 5 star resort by any means. What it IS is clean, comfortable and economical. The front desk personnel were kind and eager to help with questions and concerns. Within walking distance of the ferry we needed to take to the island.

The folks are happy to take you in, and happier to see you go. The toilet in my room was not bolted down well at all, it moved 6 inches in both directions right to left. When I said something to them at the front desk staff at check out, they said " OK THANKS FOR THE INPUT, DRIVE SAFE GOING HOME! " Not what I was expecting. No receipt when leaving and none offered after my complaint about the toilet. The lady at the counter had her ear buds in and listening the her phone. Very rude if you ask me. The view of the lake is nice and if you walk out to the end of the parking lot you can see the mighty mac at night when it lights up.

Called motel direct to make reservation. Was told I couldn’t and to make reservation on line. Which I did. Came to check in and had terrible customer service. Three employees were chatting (foreign language) and laughing. We had to ask to be waited on. Am thinking I was told to go online so the employee would not have to be bothered. Room was fair at best. Door has about 1/4 inch gap at bottom and on one side and room very dated. Will Not stay at this motel again and will not recommend it.

Very convenient location to Star Lone cruise to Mackinac Island. They don't have private beach but has nice view if you get room that has river view. Rooms are very old but neat and clean. Make sure to select free upgrade if you are booking online. I forgot to select and ended up in small room but my friend got free upgrade and much larger and nice room. When I requested, I got the free upgrade. They also sell ticket to Cruises at front desk. You will get continental breakfast between 7 — 9 am. They have many options. In night, easy access to most of the restaurants and market place. Italian Bar and restaurants are food. There is a very good Chinese and Kfc just half mile away.

CAUTION SEE ROOM FIRST Absolutely horrid. Days Inn just won my credit card dispute b/c when you sign in you sign a form agreeing to not cancel 24 hrs. days inn gets to keep $98.90 of my hard earned wages for nothing in return. original review: 5/21/17 Lakeside View is parking lot. Room filthy, outdated. Sink backed up with black water. Front desk rude, rude, rude. Rainbow Inn is right down street. Stay there. I am still fighting Discover Card for reimbursement for a night I was charged, and never stayed.

Room chain lock was broken as was sliding door lock. Room was clean. Wi-Fi was terrible. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Carpeted steps leading to second level were loose and dangerous.

With this hotel you realy do get what you pay for. Door handle on front door only worked by lifting up instead of pressing down. When checking the bathroom there were pubic hairs still on the toilet seat. Sliding door to the balcony was extremely difficult to open due largely to the fact that the handle was loose. Lake view separated by parking lot for arnold ferry. Not too bad an impact from second floor but definitely an issue on first floor. Also beware if you purchase online they will tack on an environmental fee not shown online.

Our rooms were not clean. When house keeping came in while we're out they left us unwrapped coffee cups. Also no refills on coffee. Mini fridge not working latch on the door broke off. Had to open windows rooms had a bad smell. Not happy at all. The rooms had no place to hang up a jacket no hooks no clothes racks.

DO NOT STAY HERE! On check in the guy at the front desk didn't ask for a ID. He really just handed me the room key. Once we got in the room the spa tub me paid extra for was broken. There were no towel in the room at all. No soaps. The bed spread had a huge stain on it. It was so dirty it looked it had not been cleaned. Even the toilet seat didn't match the toilet. We check out ASAP.

Rooms were very clean and well kept. The staff was so friendly and helpful! Loved the hotel and would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap hotel near the water with great service!

Do not stay here! Customer service is awful! I canceled my reservation well with in the 72 hours said my confirmation number wasn't right and won't refund my money! The manager was rude in the phone wouldn't let me get a word in and cut me off and hung up!

Someone who rates Days Inn Mackinaw City-Lakeview low appears to be searching for the tiniest of unimportant complaints. Our EVERY stay here for quite a few years has been a 5… with THIS stay rated a 5++, orrr… off the charts! Not the slightest complaint from THIS Alabama Crimson Tider. Donna Marie, as usual,. Along with Jodi, the manager gets a "HIGH FIVE", plus tips! Are we staying right here NEXT year? "You betcha! " Baker Smith, Birmingham, Alabama.

Nice hotel, the girls at the desk were very frie dly. Only 3. Blocks away from the main street and it wasn't bad at all to walk there. The rooms were just basic but we spent must of our time out. Breakfast was pretty good for a hotel breakfast.

It was okay but not worth the money. You can pay basically the same price and stay at the clarion with actual private balconies and a sandy beach. There is no beach, just a parking lot made of gravel and then the lake beyond that. No where to even look at the lake. The balconies are not private they are all connected pretty much. The breakfast is a joke and the girl in the office had an attitude quite a few times over simple questions.

Your getting 2 starts because the dirty pool was warm and the breakfast buffet was good — the lady working there worked her butt off too she is the only saving grace! — We stayed at the days inn lakeview hotel aug 6-7 and it was really a sad sad case! Dirty and grimy! THe room was suppose to be queen beds but they were not they were full and had tiny travel size pillows to match! My 6 year old and I were crowded in one bed together! The floor carpet and head boards were covered in dust! The bathroom had cobwebs in the corner and grim on the floors. The air conditioning didn't work at all, but loved to squeak. The pool was falling apart huge chunks were missing on the sides of the pool walls. There was even a water cooler that was unplugged and missing the water part just hanging out! So sad! Distrusting hotel! I would suggest ppl to stay else where it's just nasty! Sad I had to pay to stay in this filth. I can't believe you charge people to sleep here! I have photos but not sure how to upload them here of all the grime and cobbwebs in our room! Get a new cleaning staff!

Such a terrible place! Hole in bathroom wall! Shower curtain too small to cover whole shower! Bathroom door didn't lock! And paid over $200 for it! And that "25 ft hot breakfast bar"? Bullshit. It's horrible! Do not stay here.

Only giving a three because the pool was warm. Room was smelly and not very clean. Door jam had enough space to see light through. Breakfast was pretty nasty. Their excuse for not having eggs was avian flu. Seems like a poor excuse to me.

I checked inn at the days inn lakeview and jodi was a great help and was very helpful of things to do and places to go eat. I have a wonderful stay and will be back. The heart shaped tubs are awsome and the rose petals that were spread through the room was a awsome. Thanks jodi I was shocked at that what great service you do for people.

This is such a Beautiful place to stay! My wife and I stopped here for the night on our way to Mackinac Island. We were greeted with a smile from Jodi the GM and she was also very helpful and accommodating with everything we needed. We will definitely be going back! Thank you for such a great stay last night:) (5-8-15).

When we arrive the person at the desk was on the phone talking about a former employee we stood five minutes till some other girl sitting in the lobby got up to help us she work at another hotel. Internet was not working in room we were told it was down and we had to come to lobby to connect, breakfast we had to go to another hotel to get. We bought tokens when we made reservation for the trolley lady at the desk said to be there by 7 so we dropped what we were doing and went back to the hotel and she told us it was cancelled because not enough people. could not sit on our patio lakeside because there were too many bugs. Ice machine out of order. There was other stuff I will not do days inn again unless it is all to choose from.

Room was not clean, smelled like someone crapped in it, bugs in room wash rag was left hanging in shower. The owner/manager needs to fire the cleaning staff and get someone that knows how to clean a room. We tried to complain to front desk but there was a definite language disadvantage. WILL never reserve a room from them online and will never stay there again.

Service was okay, but our room sucked. Floors were dirty, room smelled nice until the air was on. NOT worth the money paid. Next time we'll go over the bridge for a place to stay. Rooms are very dated.

Honestly not that bad as people are saying, short walk to shore through back parking lot, well kept pool, jacuzzi tub in bathroom, nice beds, ac fridge and TV are outdated but still work, veery nice for price.

Usually I do not review anything, BUT then there's this place. If you call about your reservations you will be placed on hold for an ungodly time, mine was 15 minutes! We booked through PriceLine, so PriceLine had already taken out the booking fees, WELL Days Inn also charged us on top of PriceLine, so yes we were charged TWICE for the same room! They refuse to fix the issue! The "breakfast buffet" is a decent spread IF they keep it stocked! The staff member operating the buffet told another guest "oh we ran out of milk, but if you want some there is an IGA right around the corner. " Yes, they told a guest to go get milk if they wanted it.

Good Hotel for a short stay. Breakfast buffet. Yikes. No private beach like listed in add (parking lot). Not sure the Renovation was done in 2010. Maybe 1987. Award winning pool? Possibly after it was cleaned. I book the suite. Ummmm well. Not so much. Staff very nice and helpful. That's why I gave 2 stars and not 1.
