Older property but clean with large suites. The one thing that sets this hotel apart from the rest is the helpful staff that went above and beyond for us. We had a dead battery one of the mornings we were supposed to head out to do a little wine tasting. The General manager pulled up their shuttle bus and attempted to jump our car. They got us up and going again. Another hotel staff member after seeing our small bonfire on the beach literally ran over to us with kindling in hand and built our fire up to “proper standards” for us. Lol Will definitely recommend and would stay there again.

We have found a new tradition for our family! Our room was beautiful and clean, with a gorgeous view. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beach area is beautiful with shallow, clean water, perfect for little ones. The pools are also great with plenty of chairs. Everything you could ever need is right there and it's in a great location too. We loved everything about our stay and can't wait to return.

Had a wonderful experience here, rented jet ski’s on the spot plus pool and hot tub. We had a suite best room I’ve ever stayed in TVs in the bathroom and a hot tub bathtub. Would definitely stay again! Love traverse city so much fun!

My boyfriend and I recently stayed in one of the suites with a bayside view. It was the perfect setting for a romantic winter weekend getaway. He proposed to me… and of course I said yes! The staff brought wine and decorated our room with roses! I've never felt so in love in my life! So thankful for this beautiful hotel off of the bay in Traverse City. The staff always goes above and beyond for you, not to mention the cleanliness of the hotel. We had a wonderful time here at Cherry tree Inn for our 1 yr anniversary. It was a wonderful get away and Joey at the front desk was so helpful with everything. We also felt very comfortable especially during and they were very safe. It’s a nice place for a getaway.

We arrived, ready to check into our room about 3:05pm. I was told check in is 3:00pm. They hadn’t started cleaning our room yet. We were told that someone would text or call us when the room was finished. They verified my phone number and we were on our way. At 5:15 we still hadn’t received a call, so we headed back to check on the room. It was done being cleaned and we were able to get in. That evening we went out and came back to the hotel, in the pouring rain. There were no parking spaces available. We were told we could park across Hwy 31 in a bank parking lot, which is their overflow lot. It was 1:00am, pouring rain, and we had to walk across a dark hwy to park our car. This is not acceptable or safe! I would never, knowingly, pay $400 a night to stay at a hotel that doesn’t even provide safe parking for all of its guests. The following morning we contacted the front desk and inquired about a late check out since we weren’t able to actually get into the room until 2 1/2 hours past check in, since they didn’t have our room ready. They said that option wasn’t available. Upon checking out I asked to speak with a manager to discuss my disappointment with our stay. The manager wasn’t in. The front desk worker assured me the manager, Arrow, would contact me within a day or two. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks and I’ve yet to receive a call or email regarding my concerns. I won’t be staying at the establishment again, based on their customer service.

Stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and had a wonderful experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful and so is the text service to let you know your room is ready — an hour early! Our room was large and clean, beach and pools too. Highly recommended!

Wonderful hotel excellent location. Staff is very helpful, the place is really really clean and well organized. Our rooms were spotless. Beach was perfect to be groomed it every morning. We use the outdoor pool it was extremely clean and had a beautiful view of the the lake. I also think it may be the only outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the bay at a hotel I can’t think of one other one that has an outdoor Jacuzzi that overlooks the water.

Very nice place. Rooms are up to date, large, clean, and comfortable. Staff was great and accommodating. I would highly recommend topping off your stay in Traverse City with a stay at the Cherry.

Always a great stay! Love the upgrades to the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. Best part of the weekend was our shuttle driver, Charity! She is so sweet, and kind, and goes above and beyond to take care of getting everyone where they need to go! Charity!

Fabulous girls weekend this past weekend! The entire staff was amazing and so accommodating starting with check-in, room service, shuttle service, restaurant suggestions and their help with getting our bonfire started. It was an overall great experience! I will definitely be back!

We have stayed at the Cherry Tree Inn for the last several years. They give you the best customer service! I have yet to meet any of their staff that is less than amazing! We vacationed there in July and there was a minor issue. Charity insisted we talk to Arrow about the mishap. Arrow went above and beyond. Thank you Cherry Tree Inn! We will see you in September.

Great place to stay! This is our third year and no complaints. The pools are well maintained, breakfast is good and the staff is very friendly. The remodeled rooms are the best! See ya next year!

We just spend the night at Cherry Tree Inn. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the room we were in, we were told at check in that our room was recently renovated but the new furniture has not arrived so the renovation was not complete. So the walls were bare and the beds had no headboards. You could tell the walls had been painted and there was new carpet and new bathroom, however the new carpet had a few stains that were the first thing you seen when entering the room. Also the new tile in the entry as well as the bathroom had what looked like dried glue in several places.
We also paid to have lake view, but also our view was a large playscape area.
I feel our room should of been discounted, or maybe room should not be used until floors cleaned & renovation completed.

Just a very welcoming place from the time you walk in. Very friendly staff. Great view, nice room. We are enjoying our stay here. Will stay again. Would definitely recommend to others. Comfortable bed and clean.

A really beautiful place to stay and have a great time on the wine trails the beach was beautiful the sun sets were unbelievable staff was very helpful And I hear you’re updating the rooms can’t wait to stay again would recommend this to anybody.

We really enjoyed staying here and will stay there again. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly. Breakfast was excellent. It included fruit, yoghurt, waffles, hot and cold cereal. Eggs and bacon alternated with fried potatoes and patty sausage. A shuttle is also provided to take you to various locations in Traverse City. Our balcony room had an awesome view of the East Bay.

We stay here every year now. Great staff. Great breakfast room. I jokingly asked where I could get a stronger cup of coffee, and Bonnie made me a pot while she was just going on her break. That's how they are here. Good people who seem to love their jobs. Thanks again, Bonnie!

My only complaints are the seats in the room aren't too comfortable and there's only one slow elevator but that's if I'm really nitpicking. Breakfast is good. The hotel is right on the bay and the view from our room is great. There's a shuttle that takes you to downtown or the casino. The price for the room is pretty reasonable. There's also an indoor and an outdoor pool though the indoor pool is out of service right now and we only had a week or two of notice.

I am very disappointed in Cherry Tree Hill Inn & Suites. I will never stay there again. I’ve traveled there previously for work, and wanted to bring my family back to visit. When I called to set up the reservation, I provided them ALL the details of my stay. They asked if I was traveling for leisure or business, and I answered honestly — leisure. I asked how much it would cost, and they quoted me the price. I booked the reservation. Shortly after that, I received an email confirmation of my reservation, dates and pricing that we had agreed upon. Several days later, I received emails stating that I was incorrectly quoted, and after several emails and phone calls… days of my time wasted, they refused to honor the price they quoted me. I did not change or misrepresent any terms of the reservation. They made a mistake, refused to honor it, and tried to make me pay for it. Then, without my permission, they created a new confirmation and quoted price — FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS MORE, and emailed it to me. I cancelled the reservation. I find it legally interesting that they are willing to charge me for the stay — if I had not showed up for the stay, under the terms of the confirmation; however, they do not value honesty or honoring their quote they provided me. Integrity may not matter to them, which was clear, but I will never be staying there again.

Love this place! First time visiting this past weekend. Excellent location, only 5 minutes or so to downtown. When you leave your room you are steps from the water. Excellent panoramic views. The private beach is never very crowded. I'll definitely return.

We stayed at the Lake Michigan room in the new building. It was amazing. The room was gorgeous. I can't say enough good things about the room. The employees were super friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend!

Got a great deal on a honeymoon suite. Arrived around 11pm and had a congrats balloon with the one thing my wife and I were craving, bottles of water! The staff was attentive and made sure were had anything we may have needed. We didn't need anything but they had our back.

Great location. Rooms kept up to date. Very clean, quiet, comfortable. Playground and beach for the kids. Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. Friendly staff. Great stay.

This was the worst hotel experience we have had. We got to our room, unpacked, only to find none of the lights worked other than two lamps. We then had to sit in the dark for about an hour and a half while the maintenance man tried to fix it, but he did not know how to and the man that did know how to had left because his shift was over. So the poor maintenance guy who knew as much as us tried figuring it out. Then, the manager came and said he couldn’t move us rooms until tomorrow, but he would give us 30 dollars off to stay in a room where out bathroom had NO LIGHTS. For the nearly $400 we were paying, it was rather insulting. So instead he offered a room at a sister hotel, with a better view and they gave us champagne for the inconvenience of having to repack our things and push back plans we had that day. I thought they had done right by us and fixed it, but then we faced more issues. I was told we would still get the 30 off, and the first hotel would not charge us, and to be clear we asked for clarification that there would be NO CHARGE on my card at all, that was not the case. We went to the second hotel and were charged the same amount with about a 6 dollar difference (not the 30 difference we were told we would get), and the next day I was charged by both hotels. We spoke to the manager, Johnathon, and he seemed more concerned about telling us all of his titles and positions he had, rather than resolving the issue.

Our stay was wonderful. We had a suite with a HUGE Jacuzzi tub and it was wonderful! The staff were super friendly, the room was clean and decorated nicely, and the view to the bay was breathtaking. The room had a kitchenette with a nice size fridge and everything you need to cook if you wanted to. Hot water was instant and water pressure was great. The outdoor hot tub and pool were in top condition and we got to see the sun set over the bay while enjoying it. The only one negative was the bed was too hard. The location of the hotel was perfect. We will definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay at Cherry Tree Inn & Suites for my husband and mine's anniversary! The staff was very friendly on the phone and when we arrived, they asked when I booked what the occasion was for our stay and when we got into our room there was a sweet congratulations balloon and surprise gift from the hotel. There was good coffee and tea (and cookies! ) out in the lobby all day and the breakfast was decent. The view of the bay was beautiful, the room was large and comfortable. The 2 best parts of the accommodations were the 24 hour hot tub and pool (quite hours after 10) and the complimentary shuttle that takes you downtown and picks you up from 4pm-10pm! The hotel helped make our short getaway hassle free and very enjoyable! Definitely recommend and will stay there again.

My stay at Cherry Tree Inn and Suites in Traverse City, MI was phenomenal. The staff was friendly and the room was huge, comfortable, and had an amazing view of the bay. I also enjoyed the free breakfast and they had free shuttles to the downtown area so it was easy to enjoy the nightlife in town as well as the quieter beach area where the hotel is. I'll definitely be back!

We just got back from two nights at this hotel and boy, what a treat! This place is super clean and friendly. They had a great 24-hour indoor pool, sauna and hot tub. The room was large with very comfortable beds. Our room had a small kitchenette, I believe they had a variety of room styles. Our room also had a beautiful view of the bay which is so amazing it's difficult to put into words. This hotel comes with a free breakfast and their idea of breakfast is far above most hotels, they offered almost anything you could think of including many healthy options such as fresh fruit, yogurt, and oatmeal. They had not one but 4 types of coffee available 24 hours a day. The staff was very helpful setting you up with directions, a free shuttle, or anything else to make your stay a memorable one. The hotel is conveniently located right off US-31. They are also very environmentally conscious, having recycle bins throughout the hotel.

Had a Great Stay. Love the 24 hour indoor pool and hot tub. Very Good Breakfast. Free gourmet coffees. Clean room with a nice view of the water, but the best part was the staff. Kyndra at the front desk was great. Excellent customer service. Very glad we stayed here.

At Ignite Hospitality, we represent a lengthy list of clients that tour the country and have seen the inside of numerous hotel rooms. Love love love Cherry Tree Inns & Suites. We will never stay anywhere else when we come to Traverse City. The staff was so friendly, helpful and sincere. The room was gorgeous, very clean and with the most breathtaking view. The bed was so comfortable. We had the best sleep, when we were sleeping. This was just the best weekend. Cherry Tree is a must stay if you are in the area they take care of you very very well. Love the smiling faces. They are so welcoming. Made our 20 yr late Honeymoon just Amazing! Thank you 5+ stars.

Clean beautiful and lovely staff. My husband and I are enjoying ourselves. The rooms and view are breathtaking. Even at night we can see the stars. We got this room off groupon and we are veey pleased. The game room is cute and cool. The work out room is small but efficient. Super nice pool & hot tub with sauna room. Complimentary breakfast. They have board games in fireplace in community area and its super nice and cozy.

Best Experience we have ever had with any place of Business let alone a hotel. The Staff is absolutely the most friendly, helpful, and accommodating staff we have ever had. My wife n I were there celebrating her Birthday she came down with an illness the next day and we were suppose to check out by 11am. We had only booked one night but with her being sick we couldn't travel to our next destination. The Staff was amazing they accommodated another room for us to stay in. While they were preparing that room they let my wife n I stay in our room for her to rest with out disturbance which was way past check out. 2 hrs later they rang us it was ready. We got into our room and it's was Beautiful. My wife sick and resting I hear a knock at the door… It's a staff Members with a care bag for my wife they had went shopping across the street and got her Vernors (Ginger Ale) and Saltines and made sure if we needed anything to call Them. House keeping even brought a few things to our door we had left in the other Room. We will 100% Be going back. Best Experience Ever!

Enjoyed my stay. The hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful. They worked well with the whole sports team I was there with for a tournament. It was close to the ice rink and nice restaurants as well and activities for the kids.

Wonderful place to stay! My wife and I love Traverse City for all there is to do, always staying at different hotels. On our anniversary we got a room at the Cherry Tree Inn and fell in love. The rooms were amazing and staff was friendly and helpful. We will never stay at another hotel again when visiting Traverse!

We stayed in a suite on the fourth floor, and it was incredibly romantic. There was a large living room area with a couch, fire place, and a dining table. There was a kitchen with a full sized fridge, sink, and small stove. The cabinets had plates, silverware, and cookware. The bedroom was beautiful, and the bathroom was huge. The view over the lake was gorgeous. The hotel staff was extremely kind, the pool area was nice, and the library always had hot coffee and tea. We loved staying here.

This one of the best place to stay in summer, great view but you have to take lake front suites. The breakfast was really awesome and the front desk people are really nice. I want to visit in summer also.

This was a beautiful and luxurious hotel for the Traverse City area. We came for my birthday and loved the cookies at the front desk! My husband made a reservation and they had a “Happy Birthday” balloon for us and a free video rental. The state of the art TV mirror and bubbly jacuzzi was amazing after a chilly night out on the town. The bed slept us comfortably and the staff was ALL friendly and even when we waited for the elevators the housekeeping girls said hi and wished us safe travels back home. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options and the guest areas had board games and books to borrow and play. I’m so sad we were only there 1 day! We will 100% be back and we loved the layout of the room. The staff had wine openers, emergency products and were very very sweet. The room and area was clean and the view with the lake and balconies were wonderful. Didn’t have time for hot tub outdoors or the pool but the kids we saw using it seemed to love it! Felt like a fancy home away from home. Thank You!

Cherry Tree Inn is one of my favorite places to stay in TC. The rooms feel luxurious and large. There was plenty of space for my wife and I to spread out. The staff was very accommodating and the shuttle service to down town is an awesome perk to get down town. We stayed in April this year, and while it was a bit chilly, the view of the bay was what I would call Pure Michigan! Johnathan booked our stay and was very professional and made sure we had the perfect room for our tastes. We are looking to come back again in May next year!

Stayed here with my Wife for our honeymoon in mid November, and it was amazing! Service was top notch, very clean, and the room exceeded our expectations. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We will definitely be back!

Love this place. We stayed there 10/21/17. The staff were super friendly. The views of the bay on 3rd are outstanding. We liked the balcony. Our room was very clean. The bed was super comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good. We have stayed there a few times now We LOVED LOVED the complimentary shuttle service! It's starting to show some wear here and there but still very nice.

We spent our wedding night in one of the suites at this hotel and absolutely loved every minute of our time there. The views were incredible and the room was perfect.

Stayed here for honeymoon. Loved it! View was spectacular. We had a piece of private beach. Indoor amd out door pools with Jacuzzis, oh and our room had a jacuzzi and a fireplace! Everything was great.

Excellent rooms, access to gym, indoor and outdoor pools, and sauna. The beach is just a few steps away. Buffet breakfast have a lot of options, and it is delicious. The service in general is excellent, my family and I were very happy staying at Cherry Tree.

Don't go here if you want a quieter get away during the summer without the kids. Very nice staff, but when they have couples coming during the summer, they best put them on the top floors. It is a great family place with many children all over. We were on the second floor and had to listen to "f" this and that from the parents below on the grassy area or not sit on our patio. And parents screaming for their kids at 10 at night. It stays light that long in western Michigan in the summer. Then someone lit about four M-80's on the beach after dark one night. I asked for a higher room/suite as we checked in early, but only rooms on the backside of hotel facing street or much more expensive. My mistake… won't be back. Be sure to advertise this as a family motel.

Wonderful place for a weekend getaway. Excellent view of the bay and all the amenities you could want. Just a short drive from downtown TC as well as leelenau county. The pent house suite was wonderful, would highly recommend for anyone needing a weekend getaway.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms and balcony could defiantly use a cleaning. You are not gonna want to use that balcony if you don't like spiders. Also the night attendant at the desk is not nice or helpful. But all the other staff was. The hotel has contacted me and said they would fix the spiders and I'm sure they will.

I wanted to splurge for my 40th and decided to stay at the cherry tree. When I got there the amenities looked good — except for the indoor pool which was very old and small. I was disappointed with how out of date my room was. I got the best suite on the top floor and paid over $375 per night. Chipped paint, burned out lights, gross bathroom fan. We did enjoy the jacuzzi but there's no ac in the master so it was uncomfortably hot when we tried to go to bed. The staff was friendly and it's a good location and the breakfast was also good. But I wouldn't stay again. I was looking for some luxury for a special day and just don't think it was worth what we paid.

We love Cherry Tree! About a yr or 2 ago we stayed for a girls weekend and headed downtown for the night on the shuttle. The front desk attendant gave us a business card for a taxi co they use after the shuttle stopped running. We ended up waiting for a long time for that cab that never showed up. When we got back to the hotel we wanted to let them know that maybe they should not promote that co or try another. We simply just wanted them to be aware and were totally shocked when they wanted to reimburse us for our cab fare. I was so impressed with their customer service not just from that incident but everyone is so kind and awesome that I booked a month later to come up with my husband and kids. We now go every summer and stay at Cherry Tree.

Great room with view that overlooked the bay. Room was clean and contemporary. Bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Our family enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We wish we could have stayed longer.

My fiance and I visited Traverse City for a quick one night getaway in the beginning of April. We stayed at Cherry Tree Inn. We couldn't be happier with our experience. The front desk employees were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Close to everything, but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Will certainly stay again.

Came here for a winter getaway, to sled and hike the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Every aspect that you would expect to be addressed in a positive way was taken care of. Welcoming staff, clean rooms, excellent value (including having an additional night added for 50% of standard rate), excellent assistance when needed (our 8 yr old got sick on the bathroom floor and front desk helped right away), very good hot breakfast provided, great location on the water and close to downtown and other attractions. Just fantastic for me, my wife, and my three children! This will be our first choice for our next trip to the area!

Stayed here over the weekend. Great staff! The woman in charge of the breakfast was amazing. She may have been the nicest, most sincere person I have ever seen at a hotel. Would give her 10 stars!
