Rooms were great. Hotel is large and had ample parking for our large moving truck. Prices were the most reasonable we had found out of 4+ other hotels we called. It does not include breakfast however.

Stayed here two nights. Comfortable room, comfortable beds. No continental breakfast — a letdown — especially for the cost of the rooms here. There is a pool but no hot tub. As we were right by the ice machine it was a bit noisy throughout the night. No shuttle to fair.

Lovely nice clean hotel. (I do wish they offered more than coffee, to they did sunday) but had the world's best friendliest workers. There had been a flood like the capital had never seen, and unfortunately the basement there got flooded and knocked out the elevator. Parking lot, No problem! We had electricity, Wi-Fi, unlike some. Way to go Holiday inn! They were Above And Beyond apologetic, and took care of us well. We all understood it wasn't their fault, gee many of us have been flooded in our own home, other years. I will stay here again in a heartbeat!

I really enjoy staying there. The rooms are are and comfortable also the staff is great they go out of their way to make your stay good.

This is a standard Holiday Inn. Food and beverages are served at the adjacent sports bar but can be charged to the room. If you include breakfast in your room rate, it will only cover a basic, limited meal. After the first night, the bathroom was not cleaned and I needed to request this from reception prior to going out to eat. It was still not cleaned properly on my return and I had to ask again. I did get some loyalty points to compensate. Parking is free.

Not very satisfied, does not offer free breakfast, could not provide HDMI cable to connect my PS4, the balcony of the habication was inaccessible.

I appreciated all of the in-room charging outlets, air conditioner, large flat screen TV on a swivel and the high powered shower heat. This hotel is showing 'pet friendly'. Not true. Only assist dogs are allowed.

Attended Des Moines Science Fiction Convention at the hotel. The hotel was kept clean and amenities stocked for the entire weekend. Staff responded quickly to any conference room temperature issues and quickly addressed them. Very excellent staff.

First person I met was Jodi working at the front desk. She was very professional and had great customer service skills. Being the only person at the desk at the time, she was answering phones and checking in guest. In a hurry as she multi tasked, she was not flustered and maintained a high since of service and respect for those she served. Room is clean and the rate was good. Next time I'm in DSM, I'll stay here again.

Great hotel. Looks a little old from the outside but the rooms have been updated. There is a restaurant attached to it and the breakfast there was pretty good.

It was clean. Check in was great. Bennigans is attached. Free meet and greet on check in. Beer and apps. Nice facility. In my room one of bedside lights not working. In bathroom the shower head was almost falling off. And the toilet seat was very very loose. Felt like it would slip off. Minor annoyances. I will stay here again.

This was one of many stays at this hotel and I have stayed in a few different rooms. I have always had a great experience at this location and as a Spire member I am recognized for the loyalty, given a room upgrade usually arranged before I arrived, and beverages and snack from the restaurant. I also have hosted a reunion with friends in their NEWLY renovated Penthouse. I was one of the first guest to BOOK this room after its renovation and it was BEAUTIFUL. I had a great time there and overall just really enjoy using this location for work or leisure.

First stay. Very nice. Clean room. Not over furnished or under furnished.

Nice hotel. Fast check in. No breakfast like other holiday inns. Supposedly your have to go to bennigans next door. I went in no buffet. Sat at a table then the bar area for 15 min. No one came.

Stayed here for the weekend for a group event. Was clean inside the room and hallways. Restaurant food was great. Had the monte crisco which was delicious. Ate in bar side and bartender was fast with refills.

Absolute garbage hotel. I waited many many hours to get my room that had been booked weeks in advance. I left a swim suit top in my room and when I called a few hours after leaving they refused do to give me information. I continued to call multiple times and they always said “we will get back to you” yet never did. I never got the swim suit top back and was extremely disappointedly by this hotel overall. Would not recommend.

Everything you could want in a great home away from home. Lovely rooms. Nice pool. Best continental breakfast you could ever imagine! Highly recommend. Great prices.

The hotel has been recently remodeled like all other Holiday Inns and is really nice! The staff was friendly and pets are allowed, which was a perk for me since I was travelling across the country with my dog. The rooms weren't very big but that honestly didn't bother me at all since I just wanted a place to relax and sleep. It may be a little cramped for a family, but enough space for a couple. There was a large TV in the room and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The downside was there is no breakfast since it is a "fuill service hotel" with a restaurant attached. I ate twice at the attached restaurant and the food was good and breakfast reasonably priced, but I definitely would have preferred breakfast included.

Have stayed here multiple times. Aways enjoy our stay in the clean rooms. They have recently remodeled and refreshed the look and feel.

Not bad but not my first choice. Staff wasn’t the friendliest. — First Review from July 2017. Used this hotel again in December. The Staff's attitude was night and day difference. I would definitely use this place again.

The location is very convenient located next to the freeway. The reception hall was large enough to host over 150 people comfortably. The catered food waa delicious and the staff was amazing. Would recommend to a friend!

Overall it was enjoyable experience. Negatives: Shower didn't drain properly in my room, bathroom fan never kicked in so it was steamy as ever and no free breakfast. Positives: Wonderful people working very polite and professional, when I asked for a new room because of the slow drian shower they agreed and moved me to a Suite for free and clean hotel both inside and out. Putting the pros and cons together I would give this stay 4 stars out of 5.

I was staying here for a convention. I loved the room! The food was excellent! The staff was nice. My only complaint were my neighbors with a crying baby but I know there isn't anything the hotel can do.

Spent the night before a reptile show there. Great service friendly staff. Rooms was very clean. The only draw back was the bed was kind of hard but that wouldnt stop me from returning there.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities but some things walls. Will definitely stay here again.

Clean rooms. The bed was very comfortable. Bathrooms are small with little counter space. Staff was quite accommodating to meet us at our room right as we first arrived with a crib requested at check-in. The pool and hot tub are a nice size with bathrooms and showers available in the pool area. Overall this hotel worked well for an overnight stay while passing through.

We ended up breaking down in the middle of the night. And the staff there was more accommodating than anything to try helping us. Between just the simple things of like toothpaste and deodorant we're given. They just did everything to help us try to get comfortable for the night so we can hopefully get out of there the next day.

Just checked in. The room is clean. The bed is well made. Info on the use of things are very clear, including any need to ask for help. I am quite impressed.

This hotel is pricey but everything was amazing. I deliver pizza and out of all the hotels in my delivery area this one is by far my favorite. The staff was all friendly and happy to help people. The rooms were immaculate. If I were staying at a hotel in des moines and could afford it, this would be my first choice.

Since it was my wife's birthday and we wanted to stay at a nicer hotel this night we thought we would be happy with this hotel. The first room we were given was extremely hot and had a toilet seat that was ready to spill you onto the floor. We were given a new room and the toilet seat was just as bad. They did have the maintenance gal come up and tighten the seat which made us happy. We opted for the 10.00 breakfast deal which gives you 18.00 towards your breakfast at the attached restaurant which when served was cold. This is a very large hotel with only 3 elevators so you spend more time waiting for the elevators than usual. On the bright side, they had soft water.

Great hotel with tons of amenities & things to do. Great place to have a business meeting. They have 5-10 different meeting room spaces of all sizes. Front Desk & Sales Department are excellent. Connected to Bennigan's so it's very easy & convenient to grab a bite to eat. Room was very clean & spacious. Recently renovated with new designs & furniture. Very nice touch! Pool area is very cool with great artwork!

Go to the Ramada next door! I am staying at this hotel as I type. It is jammed to the rooftops with preteen and teen soccer and basketball players. They are running around the whole hotel, screaming as loud as possible, totally unsupervised by parents or coaches, and the hotel staff is simply watching it happen. There is a security guard wandering around with a lost look on his face, utterly unable to control the chaos. Additionally, the kitchenette sink has been stopped up with filthy brown water all weekend, and there has been no housekeeping service whatsoever. When I complained to the manager, she said "What do you want ME to do about it? " I've never seen a hotel staff have such little regard for their guests' experience. Unbelievably awful. I can't wait to check out tomorrow and never ever come back. Take my advice and go to the Ramada next door!

Nice hotel. Went for a convention. Very nice facilities and guest rooms. Easy to find all the different conference rooms. Elevators were a bit rickety and slow. Otherwise, no complaints.

Over the Christmas Holiday we rented a conference room so our whole family could be together. They even asked if we wanted a Christmas Tree! The food and service came from Bennigans as was great. It gave us room to open presents and have the little kids play with their toys!. We would definitely do that again!

Good location. Hotel is recently renovated and is pretty nice. Everything was nice and clean for me. My most recent stay was 8 nights.

Good facilities, and our room looked newly updated. The hot tub was kind of crappy, but the pool was nice. Bennigan's had good food but the service was slow.

The place is a bit beat up but the room had been renovated and the staff were very friendly.

Staff was very helpful. We were there for a baby shower and not everything was needed was on the reservation. They were quick to help and find what we needed even though the right departments were not there. Very friendly!

Room is fine but the rate was way too high for an old building with slow elevators, very slow Wi-Fi (~1Mbps) and service staff that continually failed to fix problems, like a broken light in the room and the Wi-Fi. Instead they simply ignore the complaint and don't call back when you ask.
