Small, cheap motel. We checked in late, looking for a place to crash on a road trip, and it was exactly what we needed. Nothing plush or fancy,, just a cheap and available room. The room had a mini fridge, so we were able to recharge the coldness of our road snacks, which was nice.

Ehh. Old school motel. Good for a quick cheap one night trip.

Price was ok (if anyone says the price is high? Don't listen this is the cheapest motel I have been in since 2008! ). The room was cold (The Heat was struggling with the 5°f temputure outside) the door was missing the chain! And absent of any auxiliary lock inside the room! I put 2 chair in front of the door to at least warn me if someone attempts entry into my room! I was in I can't speak for any other rooms! I did check the bed and room for signs of bedbugs and it seemed ok and clear of them! The only reason I rented the room was because the place I was going on stay at had bedbugs and I'm not risking taking those nasty impossible to kill critters home with me! DDT Is the only thing that effectively kills them bit DDT is banned! So we have to deal with them and kill them the "Safe Way" that takes 6 months+ to get rid of them if you're lucky! If you see bedbugs run as fast as you can they will haunt you! And cost a small fortune to hopefully get rid of!

Id say these reviews are by the owners. Prices arent fair and rooms are not clean as reviews say. Dead bugs on stained curtains, room smells like a cigarette and mattresses are nasty under the sheets. Bathroom window will not close or lock. We stayed in a room and didnt expect to have to come back to get a receipt but did after working all day, so we got a room for the night again. Same room as night before. Same bedding sheets, same pillow cases and trash still in room from night before. Kroger bags ate used in room trash cans. After paying 72 bucks for a NASTY room and reading the reviews I gotta say the reviews are not from customers. These kind of rooms cost 40 bucks not double that!

Pros: $50/ night, very clean, FREE Wi-Fi, Cable TV on flat tvs, Microwave, Refrigerator, Close to I80, Starved Rock, Matthieson, Buffalo Rock, and the lock. Cons: older and needs tlc.

We stopped as last min just to get a few hrs of sleep and shower was great clean no bed bugs id do it again!

Nice rooms, clean and comfortable. I had a good sleep. Nice friendly staff. Recommended.

The Surrey Motel is a little bit older Motel probably from the 50s but it is clean the beds are really nice the new mattresses they put in was very soft very nice not over we soft we saw at the good night sleep it was good the only thing that they need to do is when you step out of the door and a lot of the room so most of them you got this big step and if you're handicapped or even if you're not handicapped your me falling on your face so I would suggest they put a handle a cheap handle from Menards you know in side the doorway there so you can grab it when you're coming in and so you can hold on to it when you're going out either that or by each room a handrail so you know a handrail so people can get out of the room safely would not following their insurance will probably go down other than the handles or the handrails they need in front of the doors or each motel room we enjoyed our stay nice TV nice cozy room and like I said didn't see any bugs or nothing and very clean okay well thank you.

Nice management, clean rooms, price right. Great location! They are always full for a reason. Make a reservation to stress less. This is not a resort. I also stayed at starve rock lodge state park. That is a resort! One of the best in the USA! It was the best of course! Enjoy.

This place it's the worst motel bathroom door don't close furniture inside seems like it was picked from the waste. And towels are waaaaay too old.

Bed was comfortable but the bathroom was run down and I woke up with a rash on my stomach. Mattress was filthy under the protector. Price was super cheap and the staff were kind but I would not stay again.

Stayed 4 nights. Clean room, comfortable bed, quiet, a/c kept it cool. Great rate, and since its low, it won't include free breakfast or in room amenities like coffee pot, blow dryer, iron so pack accordingly. I would stay there again!

Surprisingly great comfort. I wasn't expecting much since I called around to find the cheapest room, but great bed for the best price in the area.

We had called last minute on a weekend to book a room and there were none available. The gentleman fixed one up for us. The rooms are small and cozy they have expanded cable and a fridge and microwave in each room. Nice quiet place. Owners allowed us to check out a bit late since I was sick in the room. Is recommend this place. The money is well spent. Very friendly staff.

Pretty clean overall. I would bring my own pillow if I was coming back again. Also the Wi-Fi is do bad it's not worth using.

This little place was a great find! Our room was very clean, the heater kept us toasty on a cold night, the refrigerator had lots of space, and it had a delicate smell of roses that greeted us when we entered and reminded me of India. Also, the lady I spoke with over the phone was so kind to reserve a room for us without a credit card. I would definitely recommend anyone staying here! Thank you, Surrey Motel.

When I was in town I noticed surrey motel and was lookin for a place to stay for a week. I tried couple other motels in town but ended up at surrey as the room was clean and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone. Also the motel is located walking distance to many restraunts and shopping and it close to the interstate. Great place for a good night sleep. I would definetly go back as I come to ottawa every other month.

This room was way more than I expected for 42.00.

We found mud on the bathroom floor, a turd in the toilet and pubes on the sheets. That pretty much says it all. Avoid at all costs unless you are interested in living in squalor for a night. Would make a nice place to do meth.
