Quality Inn Ottawa near Starved Rock State Park

I checked into the room at the quality inn and ask a question as I was checking in and do they have bed bugs he said no and 2 hours later I was bitten up by bed bugs do not rent a room at the quality inn in Ottawa Illinois North Korean operative.

Very friendly staff and very clean.

Rooms are neat and clean, staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, a/c is super cold! There's no elevator, but its only 2 floors, so not horrible.

Never refilled coffee section. Asked to get points from rewards like I usually do at quality inn and he said quality inn doesn't do that… wouldnt even try to figure it out. Also asked for late check out and would not do anything. He said after 11am I have to pay another whole day. 1 hr extra was to much for him, talk about greedy.

The reason I am giving this hotel a low score is because they are unwilling to resolve an issue with my *earned* hotel points from a stay back on April 14th. This hotel had technical issues with their computer systems the following morning when we checked out, so they couldn't provide a paid receipt, which I thought nothing of at the time, but… weeks later, when my points weren't deposited into my Choice Privileges account, I contacted them as well as corporate, only to find that they show that night as a "No-Show", which doesn't qualify for earning hotel points. It's unfortunate, because although the room was okay — no frills but good enough for the money spent, I won't be staying there any again. There's a Super 8 owned by Wyndham right up the road with better ratings for a few extra bucks a night that I guess we'll be booking instead for our upcoming trip the holiday week of July 4th. A simple problem that could have easily been resolved, but instead I'll take my business elsewhere.

I was traveling with another family and I loved how family friendly this hotel was. The front desk was able to accommodate us with our needs. The breakfast was perfect for our children because they had milk, cereal, yogurt, toast, waffles, and sausage. Also, the rooms were nice and clean. I would definitely stay here again when I am visiting Ottawa.

Clean room at an affordable price. Convenient to I80. Breakfast could be better… only one cereal.

Hotel was clean, bed was comfortable to sleep in, good TV options, and good breakfast selection. I would give a 5, but the cleaning staff accused us if having a dog because apparently they found dog prints and dog hair. I have three dogs and their hair travels with me. Hotel manager said he will charge us if they found it again. There was never any paws. The next morning I showed him my coat that had a tone of dog hair and he apologized which was good. Oh there is also ants in the bathroom.

Hotel was clean and quite. Breakfast was good. There is a language barrier with the front desk that left me with without a room after a12 hour work shift. Had to drive home two hours. There was no apology, I was told I was wrong and that the misunderstanding was my fault. If you have no special requests, this hotel is good, clean. If you actually have to talk to the staff, be prepared to not be understood :/

It's clean. The workers are nice. They are Indian and I love Indian food. So I tried to talk a worker into selling me some food when he came back the next day. It didn't work.

Don't stay here. My friend and I booked this hotel knowing that we'd be checking in as late as 3am. We didn't want any hassle when checking in because we knew we'd be exaughsted, so we both called the hotel on seperate occasions to confirm with the front desk that they had 24 hour check in. We were both assured that they had someone had someone at the front desk 24 hours a day. We arrived at the hotel at 1:45am and found the doors to the lobby to be locked. We called and rang the doorbell for about 10 minutes before giving up and going to the hotel next door. Luckily we were able to get a room there. While checking in next door we were told by the front desk staff that a lot of Quality Inn customers end up coming next door to them because they've arrived to find the owner sleeping at the front desk, and refusing to let people in. If you do decide to stay at this hotel, hopefully the owner feels like waking up to let you in.

I stayed last week at quality in Ottawa, I stayed for 12 nights with our family. Its a really beautiful place to stay, clean rooms and quality breakfast and very very friendly staff!

Best place to stay. Front desk is very friendly. All property is renovated rooms and mattress are very new. And good continental breakfast (eggs, sausage). I really liked that. And price is worth visiting. I would really suggest people to visit there.

Shower was difficult to get to work. Fan in room only ran hot, no cooling. Fridge and alarm clock were both unplugged.

Dirty floors. Mildew in the fridge. Dirty shower! Smelled like urine in the room.

The hotel looked nice, the lobby area. Hotel has two floors and no elevator. The fridge didn't have a freezer. The bed was comfortable and the shower was decent.

Avoid this hotel language problems with staff breakfast is over at 9 and cold hotel in itself was cold always were frigid rooms took over an hour to get warm out dated I should have stayed at the Super 8 next door.

My boyfriend and I booked 2 rooms there, and This is a family owned and not corporate owned which makes a huge difference in your stay. The owners seemed very friendly however I agree with a lot of the reviews that were left. There is an odd scent in the rooms. In there were no standard, soap, shower or conditioner bottles, only lotion but was in In our air conditioning wasn't working. It kept making a ticking noise so we just left the fan on. I wanted to inform management but the other reviews on here intimidated me because there were other issues similar that didn't get resolved. One more thing, when I booked this hotel it said there was a pool for this location. When we got there no pool, I thought maybe I looked at the wrong hotel. I get to my room to double check on my phone and a pic of the pool was online. I took a screen shot of it too In case I'm told otherwise again. Anyhow, this hotel is decent for $100. But there are other options out there with a pool and the same price.

We were just here literally from midnight to 730am. A quick stop while on a trip from NE to MI… but room was clean, bed comfy, gront desk staff pleasant, breakfast was ok but that's standard in the free breakfasts these days. Fromt desk staff did match their online price at check-in. Would stay there again for sure.

Decent rooms, but breakfast had cold eggs.

Nice room walking in, cool AC, great play to stay overnight, we checked in at midnight! Good continental breakfast too!

For anyone looking for a hotel as you are passing through Ottawa, IL… KEEP ON LOOKING! … This place is not only outdated and dirty, but they will accuse you of things you didn't do. I was charged $300 for a broken gate, only because I was in the vicinity of the broken gate. Does this hotel have the motto of "Customer's always right? "… NO… They argued with me, and told me that there was nothing they could do except to run my card on file and charge me for it. I would not wish ill will on anyone, and I do not wish anything bad on the staff or anyone at the hotel. However, what I DO wish, is for everyone who is reading this, to PLEASE choose another place to stay! It is NOT worth it for you to be charged for something YOU didn't do. Their business is not run on honesty and the best interest of their guests. PLEASE… as you are looking for a nice place to stay as you are on vacation/ passing through… DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL!

The room we were given, 232, had a bit of a musty smell. We noticed the A/C wasn't working, and reported it to the front desk. An employee came up, unplugged and replugged the power cord, said "not to turn it on high cool or above 8 or the heat would come on" and said the room would be cool in 10 minutes. The A/C would come on for 5 minutes, then blow hot air for 10 minutes, then repeat. Very little sleep as a direct result. Front desk did nothing further for us re: A/C, and was unable to print a receipt at check out.

Front desk was friendly. Room was clean, though it did smell a little funny. It was a nice place to rest but I don't think I would stay again.

This appears to be a new / newly updated facility and certainly meets your basic needs. It is quiet, clean and the friendly family managed staff reflects the pride of ownership. The common areas were pleasant and airy. The breakfast offering was most suitable and offered sausage, eggs and waffles among other basics. It had a workout room but lacked a pool for free time activity. It is situated adjacent to a substantial farm field hosting soybeans … well it is a farming community in Illinois. It's 5 minutes driving from downtown Ottawa, a really quaint town with quite a few non-chain dining and entertainment opportunities. Popular Starved Rock, Buffalo Rock & Matthiesson State Parks along the Illinois river and the I&M Canal biking trails are only 20 minutes driving distance away.

Enjoyed our stay at Quality Inn. Room was clean, location close to restaurants and shopping. Nick, was who checked us in, went overboard on politeness and helpfulness. We would definitely stay there again.

Thin walls. Woke up by my neighbors at 3am. Nothing against them, just wish it wasn't so easy to hear.

If you don't watch your account they will charge the account without you knowing and over charge you. I had my bank on speaker phone while at the front desk and they still denied making the charges on my card. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else.
