Great hotel, friendly staff, great pool for kids and adults! The Caddy Shack room was the best! Huge, roomy very spacious! we'll definitely be back! The hotel is also dog friendly, that's a plus!

Our room was filthy. Towels were stained and had dried snot/stains on them in the kitchenette area. The coffee maker looked as if it was never cleaned. Everything was dusty and the bathroom stunk of mold and mildew. The shower curtain itself was stained and smelled bad but the drain itself was covered in black mold. Great location, great decor, size of room… But at times like this esp you would think they would do simple cleaning and checks.

Not a very clean hotel, red substance on sheets and wall. Staff was rude and unhelpful.

We just stayed for two nights in a themed suite and loved it! it was spacious, clean, and an overall great experience. The hot breakfast is nice and convenient. The pool area is clean and my two children had a great time. The only thing I would say needs updating is the fitness center. The treadmill was old and I felt like it was going to fall apart while I was running. Except the fitness center, everything was truly great!

We were visiting from Wisconsin this weekend and the gal at the front desk was very helpful and careful about following the restrictions with distancing and mask etc. She gave great recommendations of restaurants for curbside pick up which we used and enjoyed picnicking at local parks. It was a beautiful, warm and sunny weekend for our first visit to Galena.

This place was awesome, there was a problem with our room, called front desk and she put us in a room that was double the size, the manager email me the next day and asked me if everything was good, I did say the front desk girl was awesome, he said that he was happy about that, then he turned around and said that he was only going to change me for one night instead of two nights. The hotel was clean and great service.

Staying here again after 15 years was a trip down memory lane. My daughter and I used to stay here when she was a kid, but on our last visit to Galena in 2009, we stayed at a bed and breakfast. It looked just like I remembered it — no major changes. The front desk staff were very friendly — especially the young lady who checked us in. They have complimentary lemon water, tea, coffee, and peppermint hard candies in the lobby, as well as newspapers. On a negative note, the bathtub was too high, quite narrow, and a little slippery. The bed was not terribly comfortable and the pillows were lumpy. But this was the quietest motel room I've ever stayed in — we couldn't hear a single noise from any other room! Of course we were on the second floor, which may have helped. The breakfast was excellent and a cut above the standard free breakfast served at most motels. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and the tiny strawberry rhubarb muffins were delicious. The woman working in this area was also super nice. One suggestion — get rid of the packaged hard boiled eggs by Crystal Farms — I could have played ball at the nearby high school with these rubbery orbs!

Stayed in the Stoney Creek in Moline, Ill at the beginning of the week. Loved it! Clean, nice rooms, good food. We liked it so much we booked 3 nights in the one in Galena, Illinois. Staff is friendly there but that is where it ends. The hotel isn't as clean as the other we stayed at. The room we have has a musty order to it. We even went and bought air fresheners for it. Breakfast… the biscuits you could only eat the top half as the bottom was rock hard. It was the same menu 2 days in a row. The 3rd morning we went to a restaurant. Came back to our room at 10 am and room service was in the hall 2 rooms from ours. We left again so she could clean. Came back at 2 and our room still didnt have maid service. Asked at the desk and was told we there was only one person cleaning continued stay rooms. It would be soon when it was done. So much for relaxing in our room… Probably won't be trying another Stoney Creek for awhile.

We stayed here a few days in March. They were so nice. Just the friendliest staff. Had a doggy bowl and treat for our dog. We felt so welcome. Nice clean rooms. Loved the pool. We will be back for sure.

Nice hotel we enjoyed our stay in one of the hot tub suites. Breakfast was good and the rates were reasonable. Only downside we noticed was on our second night the pool and hot tub was closed all night. We were dissapointed in that.

Stayed here for a night with my husband and teenage son. It's a cozy little hotel with a lodge feel. Has a nice pool area. Free breakfast is as expected; muffins, toast, cereal. Some hot options as well. My only complaint would be the two ladies at check in were less than pleasant, in our coming and going never really saw anyone at the front desk, which isn't really a big deal just weird. And someone let themselves in our room at 7:30 am while we were just waking up. Assuming (hoping) it was housekeeping (7:30 am is a little early for housekeeping) it was dark and heard a quiet "sorry". I've always had housekeeping knock first. There was no warning knock! There wasn't a typical "hotel" safety latch on our door so it was easy to get in. I didn't feel unsafe but it was alarming. Outside of that it was a decent stay. If I ever return to Galena I may choose a different hotel though.

I stayed over night for a wedding. There was an issue with the sink not draining. The called their maintenance guy in after he left. He arrived quickly and fixed it quickly. Besides that it was over all a great experience and stay.

Stayed here during our motorcycle trip to Galena. The hotel and room were very clean. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was simple but very tasty, I would definitely stay here again.

The room was fine. However, the pool closed at 11 pm, so I was unable to use it as I didn't get in until just after 11. That was super disappointing. The breakfast was good (eggs, waffles, sausage links, bagels, fruit, etc. ). I'm not generally picky with my coffee, but theirs was pretty gross. It tasted burnt. Overall, an okay experience.

Clean rooms courteous staff. Would recommend. Only a 5 minute Can ride to Downtown Main St.

Decent price. Rooms were good. Kind of musty. Bed was really firm. Breakfast was ok. The hot tub in the pool was only bathtub warm. It was pretty smelly also. For what we paid it wasn't surprising. But it was still nice.

We really liked this place. We had a king suite room with fireplace and whirlpool in room. We brought along our 2 small dogs. The room was very comfortable for all of us. Beds were comfy, room was pretty spacious and VERY clean. All staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. Overall a deep woods cabin feel to the whole place. Definitely would come back and recommend.

Rooms are clean and nice. Love the atmosphere and all the staff is friendly and helpful. Pool and hot tub were nice as well. Breakfast was decent for a free continental breakfast. All in all very happy and I'll be back. If you have trouble with stairs be sure to request a room on the 1st floor since there's no elevator to get to the 2nd floor.

I chose Stoney Creek Inn because of the fact that they are pet friendly and didn't have the heart to board my older dog while attending my sister's wedding. They provided a crate, toy, treats, food and water bowls with the pooch package. It made traveling with a dog so much easier. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, and breakfast was good with many options. My only complaint was that the spa looked dirty and I didn't feel comfortable going in. After a busy weekend It would have been nice to relax in there. Aside from that it was perfect and I'd stay again!

The original Stony Creek Inn and wow is this place absolutely beautiful! Very historic place in Galena! The suits are just breathtaking with different themes and very roomy like huge! The bar is very nice and their breakfast in the morning is delicious! Front desk clerk was great we were on our mini honeymoon on the motorcycle and needed a room and it was very close to dark time! We thought the town New Diggings had hotels but didn't! She gave us their last room at a discount rate without us telling her anything she just did it! This place is astounding all away around.

We stayed in a room with a fishing motif, which was charming. The room is clean and beautifully decorated. The service has been excellent. The pool area is nice if you have kids. We had a jacuzzi in the room so we didn't visit the pool. The only downside of our stay was breakfast. I would like to see more fresh fruit. The waffle makers were nice but the waffles didn't taste very good.

Returned home after a 2 night stay and we were very happy with our visit and has a nice lodge theme which gives a cozy, homey feel. Our room was very clean including the bathroom — NO out of place gross foreign hairs and no funky smells… and that is not always easy to find… kudos to housekeeping! We stayed in the king room w/fireplace & whirlpool. The room was a very generous size, more than enough room for us and bags/shopping items… however, TV was a little far from the bed when watching later at night, had to turn volume up a little louder then normal to hear it (while trying to be considerate of any would-be neighbors). Bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Only negative in this room was the stand up shower surround… we are average sized people and it was a little tight/narrow to move and turn in that space but was still doable. Nice upgrades… USB charging station, Keurig, good sized mini fridge too. Pool area, pool and hot tub were all clean and all appropriate temperatures. Good variety of breakfast items, different main entree each morning… first day was biscuits and gravy with a flavorful sausage bits… really savory, some restaraunts cant even get this right! Next morning was sausage egg n cheese sandwiches and french toast… again, both very good. The look of hotel is deceiving from outside as it looks like your 'typical' hotel, but they really did a nice job with the lodge/woodsy decor throughout!

As always GREAT Customer Service. Nice location, like the upgrades in the rooms: USB chargers, Keurig, and fridge. The staff is always very attentive the day time manager is wonderful. Great place for a base camp to do lots of riding along the "Great river road"

The staff at the Galena, IL is very friendly. Our suite was clean, very nice and spacious. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.

It was great. We were on a mini-vacation and drove down to Galena for the sites. The accommodations were tight because all they had was a room with two double beds. Seeing that my wife and I like to sleep together. Otherwise they went out of there way for us. I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast the next morning was very good too. Five Stars Hotel!

I just want to say, I will never stay here… even though good reviews, they are very deceitful. I think it is horrible, how they advertise $88 a night for a room and when you call, charge $149.00 and it has to be a two night stay and still no discount. I have come to Galena for over 20 some years and I can certainly say, I'm glad I did not choose this place, how deceiving is your ad. I will be sure to make this known, everywhere. If this is what you charge state that information upfront.
