Very nice place, clean and very friendly at the front desk.

Very disappointing for a Marriott property. Our “Pet friendly" room had moist and stained carpet and walls. We only stayed there for a few hours one night as we traveled and we were charged $50 to vacuum pet hair in addition to the normal $25 pet cleaning fee. Not very "pet friendly" if pet hair is unacceptable. First time I've been charged for pet hair in 6 years of traveling with my dog. Owner stated he had to "strip the beds" to clean the hair. I guess that's not standard between guests here. Our dog is not allowed on furniture, which makes it concerning what we actually slept on… The elevators had stains and the halls smelled like mildew. Thanks to Fairfield Inn by Marriott Joliet South, we will not stay at another one in the future.

I just wanted to leave a review for the Front Desk Clerk working last night. She was awesome! I'm sorry I'm terrible with names. And dont remember I booked through Expedia but I guess they dont update quick enough and the room actually wasnt available. She did double check for me and found ONE room left for me. She was really professional and apologized a few times. I reassured her I wouldnt be her problem customer of the night Even if there were no rooms left it definitely wouldnt have been her fault. I could just tell shes had her fair share of dealing with certain customers and wanted to give her some relief that I wasnt one of them. Major props to her for how she handled things and thank you again!

We have had a very rough day, we planned my daughters 6th birthday and planned to take her, our family, her best friend, and his mother to a waterpark in Sheridan IL, we called them 2 times yesterday and not once did they mention that they had an emergency and we’re closing for 2 days. We drove the 50 mins only to find out nope their closed, so we decided ok we’ll will go to grizzly jacks, and the water was ICE cold, my daughter was crying this is the worst birthday ever, we were determined to turn the day around so we said we’ll book a room closer to home. We booked a room at the Fairfield when we walked in we were greeted with friendly smiles and very helpful people behind the desk. We told them about our day and said they were determined to turn our day around. We explained we were trying to celebrate my daughters birthday. As we were in the pool the two people from behind the desk Lisette and Juan came in to the pool area with a plate of m&m cookies and a card saying happy birthday. Her face lit up! They didn’t have to do that but just the thought behind it turned my daughter entire day around! I would highly recommend coming here! The staff are super awesome and went far above and beyond the call of duty and completely changed my daughters mindset for the day, and seeing her heart lifted made everyone else feel just that much better! The day May have started offf rougher than sandpaper but it definitely ended with smiles, laughs, and one very very happy birthday girl!

Charged me 10 dollars for parking. I will never stay there again.

Location is with in walking distance to several restaurants and about a mile walk to the YMCA. I stay in hotels a few time a week because of my job and this one has hot breakfast items (eggs and sausage) not sure about pancakes. A well kept pool, that I rarely see guests using and a small workout room too. Rooms are nicely appointed, good Wi-Fi, good and cold A/C and black out curtains for a good sleep. I stay here maybe twice a month.

An older hotel that could use a little love. The elevator jerks around and can be terrifying the first time you ride it. Room was clean, bed wasn't great. Just an average place to stay at.

Elevator was janky. Two rooms were sealed off for fumigation? Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast: out of eggs, waffle mix and apple juice. Waited five minutes at the front desk for someone before dialing '0'. Brought out refrigerator cold scrambled eggs, and very chunky waffle mix. When I poured skim milk in my coffee I got little chunks.

Great motel owned by Marriott. Easy to find next to I-80, off Houboldt Rd exit in Joliet. Close to many amenities both local and within easy reach throughout the entire Chicago area. Their free breakfast is good for those who like more protein than gluten, and imcludes yogurt, fresh fruit and cereals. Their pool is kid friendly and usually busy. The front desk personnel were helpful and courteous at all hours.

The elevator is a bit terrifying. It makes lots of sudden jolts. Staff is nice, free coffee for guests. The room was clean, and everything was accessible. I couldn't find the stairs though, so that was confusing and probably a fire hazard. They weren't clearly marked anywhere.

I would not recommend this hotel. The hotel is old and rooms smell bad. Their was mold in the window seel and windows wouldn't close all the way. Bathroom had sho prints on the floor when I checked in. The fridge was off so I couldn't anything cold in it till next day. Breakfastwas out of coffee and noone refilled it. When I checked in nobody was at the front desk for a couple minutes or any other time I had to go to the desk. Last but not least the elevator feels like you are gonna die so I took the stairs instead.

Easy to get to from the freeway, front desk staff were friendly. The bed was alright, shower head was kinda on the low side and I needed to duck a little to wash my hair. Overall it was alright but nothing special.

Would say better but there is always something being repaid in the hallway which have, the hallway blocked, plastic hanging from the ceiling or, a ladder blocking the hallway.

Any hotel can make a bed. If you want to see how much emphasis the management really places on cleanliness, move the nightstand, or look under the bed. I needed to move the phone. The cord reaches across the room to the desk, but GROSS: The cord was a giant knotted mess along w/ the cord for the clock radio & nightstand lamp, and FULL of DUST, HAIR, DUST BUNNIES, and COBWEBS. It was disgusting. Unique? No, I went to another room of someone's in our group, and looked at theirs and it was the same thing. FILTHY and DISGUSTING as if the items had been moved around for 3 years, each time putting another tangle in the cord, and let me tell you it was revolting to have to unplug the phone and shove the cord back through that mess to unknot it to get it to reach the desk. THIS is when you find out how "clean" a place really is, and this place is NOT.

Staff was pleasant. Rooms were clean, but dated. Renovations have started on parts of the hotel.

What I like about this hotel that has a McDonald's next door.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The young lady at the front desk, Hannah, was so sweet and welcoming after our long day in the car. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast included vegetarian options.

It was clean, comfortable, and all the ammenities were perfect. The desk staff were well informed, very courteous, and professional. Our stay allowed a good worry-free rest after a long drive.

Decent rooms and the service is good. Breakfast could be a better. You can tell the scrambled eggs are microwaved powdered eggs.

The check in and out process was quick and smooth. The free breakfast was extensive and included fruit, oatmeal with many different toppings, cereal, juice, bagels, muffins, waffles, eggs, and also breakfast meat. The pool was open and clean. The beds we're quite soft and the shower had excellent water pressure and temperature. I would stay there again.

The best hotel I have ever been to. Checking in was smooth and fast, the staff was pleasant and very accommodating.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in my life … I've stayed at HoJos better then this… every time you enter and exit there is a crowd around the frond door smoking. (Even tho tho door clearly states no smoking with in 15ft) The room smelled very stall and dry to the point we could only stand to sleep in it … when u sat on the bed it went halfway to the floor. The last day we stayed I went to get breakfast and there were about 10 kids scattered everywhere with hardly any clothes on. I am not sure where it is appropriate for people to eat with no shoes or PANTS ON … that's right there was a little girl at least 5 with only a shirt and panties… that's when we packed up and left … NEVER WILL I STAY OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Great customer service nice clean rooms beautiful pool area to relaxing with jacuzzi would recommend it and go back again.

Top top top notch staff. But terrible room conditions. Room reeked of smoke and the bed was way too soft for my taste on the first try. Asked for another room and they accommodated (although had to go from King to dual queen) and the room was better but one could still tell it was old. Due to the building's condition alone, I'd urge long stay travelers to avoid. However if you're judging solely on staff, I'd give it 5 stars.

Traveling with senior citizens on this trip. Check in was quick and easy. Drop off and entry to hotel easy. Rooms were spacious enough and clean. Breakfast was adequate. This was a travel business stop.

Great service, great breakfast, great quality room. Felt like home. There was a lot of stores around it to stay busy.

It was a mediocre stay. Bottom sheet would not stay on mattress and toilet handle broke. Mattress was wore out as well. Ho r ek was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was typical if I had to pay for it o would have complained.

Certainly acceptable, very clean, but an older worn out Fairfield. Hospitality was nice, but not overly friendly. A place where you had to ask, not going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.

I booked this room for my family while we were traveling. In hindsight I should have called the manager to the room to show them the "lotion" on the bed skirt (please God tell me that is what it was), the mushy mattresses that felt like they were 20 years old and the slow drain in the bathtub/shower. Combine an old property that feels like it needs to be gutted and completely rebuilt with maintenance and cleaning that are sub par an you end up with this Fairfield Inn. I do NOT recommend this property.

Fire alarm problem. Fire alarm has went of 8 times in 24 hours. No onsite laundry room. Good breakfast in hotel. McDonald's and Cracker Barrel within walking distance.

Great night's rest, excellent breakfast. Great location near several eateries and gas.

Great hotel. PET FRIENDLY TOO and only $25 (whole stay, not per night) extra to have a pet with you. Rooms are clean, decent atmosphere, and you totally can't tell/smell that they are pet friendly. Kind staff too and hampton inn style hot breakfast. I'll be staying here again in the future.

What a dump? Very dirty and smells… did not even take a shower. Bathroom was very dirty. Won't be staying at a Marriott property again. Definitely Hilton all the way.

We stayed Sept. 13th 2015. Girl at front desk was friendly. But that was the only good thing about staying here. Very dirty and smelly, smelled like urine. Bathroom floor had not been cleaned in a long time. My shoes stuck to the floor, it looked like a truck stop restroom floor, I covered the floor with towels and still wore my shoes into the bathroom. We had been driving all day and night and basically needed a place to lay our heads. We should of changed hotels. Hall way was very dirty. We got there at 10pm and left at 4:30am because it was so bad. We will never trust a Marriott property because of this experience. We usually stay at Hilton properties, but the Hilton was really close to the interstate exit ramp. I would of rather slept in my car on the ramp then at this Fairfield.

It's ok, but not worth $99 to me. I'll try a different Marriott in the area next time. The service was good and the pool is nice, but the beds were marshmallow soft and the breakfast buffet so-so. I've also learned that a first floor room at a "family and pet friendly" hotel means you listen to the running, shouting kids and barking dogs starting at 7am.

Upon check in the girls at the front desk was very friendly and did her job well. I didn't go right up to my room, I went to eat and such. When I returned I grabbed my bags and went upstairs, when I tried to enter the room the key did not work. So returned to the desk and got some new keys. Overall the hallways lobby are ok, but show signs of wear and could use a good cleaning and some updating. My room was ok, again some carpet stains and could really use an update and a good cleaning. Now my biggest issue was how the room itself was cleaned. Carpet was poorly vacuumed, no bags in the garbage cans, and worst off all a not so clean bathroom. Toilet was clearly not cleaned and neither was the floor (finger nail clippings on the floor). I ventured to the pool area and again it's dated and had that not so fresh smell and a pet peeve of mine an empty rack of where the pool towels should have been. I did tell them about about my issues and got the "Oh we are so sorry, we'll talk to house keeping. Overall this location just really doesn't live up to the "Marriott Fairfield Inn" name.
