Reviews of Motel 6-Alsip, IL 2*
Very helpful staff, I came in late, very nice, great deal! bed was very comfy!
The bed is decently comfortable. I woke up itchy all over though, but I havent found any bugs in the room. Google says they have breakfast, but they don't. They have coffee, but nothing else. Front desk says they don't do breakfast. There isn't much for options to eat within walking distance.
This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed. First, there was a mattress sitting on the outside right by our door. Really? A mattress which would probably be back in a room. It rained one of the days; so I am sure this mattress got wet. It looked dirty. We had a 2 day stay so we left the first day. When we returned, the room had not been cleaned, and the garbage had not been taken out. It took about 15-20 minute for the water to get hot. Again, this was the worst hot experience. I would not ever recommend Motel 6 to anyone.
I have breathing issues and cannot be around any area where people have been smoking desk was kind enough to let me look at another room which was worst than the first room. I Asked the clerk upon checking in did thru have bed bugs he look me straight in my face and said no which was not the case the next morning I woke up to find a bug crawling on me I took pictures and asked for a refund was told a investigation had to be conducted why I had the proof right before them.
The room next to us obviously had been on fire! Our room still had a smell of smoke in it, the outlet looked like it had been burned. There was water damage in the walls & peeling paint. When we asked the front desk they said they could offer us 10% back. Why did she not think about moving us to a room without damage?! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. For the price I definitely expected better.
I was definitely not happy with my stay at Motel 6 in Alsip. The room next to us had severe fire damage. Our outlet was burned out there was a lot of water damage, and peeling paint. Not quite sure why they put us next to a room like that. When we went and asked them about it they didn’t offer to move us they just said they could give us 10% back… customer service at its finest.
There was an employee who was helpful. He's a young man his name is Ray. The other staff were decent when they were there but there were days when I called the office from my room and when I was away from the hotel trying to get specific information the phone would ring and ring and no one will ever answer. Overall the main thing that irks me is the filthy carpet with all different kind of stains on it. So disgusting I went and bought flip flops AND shower shoes so my feet would never ever touch that disgusting carpet! It was so filthy I don't even want to walk on it. I tried to stay away from my room and keep busy in the city as much as possible because I get depressed immediately upon entering my room. I stayed the whole week and never once took off my clothes to get under the cover and have a good night sleep. Every night I kept my clothes on because I just could not trust those sheets. I would deliberately come into my room completely tired and beat so I'd be able go immediately to sleep. I promise I'm not one to complain or gripe because I never mentioned it once to them (also how likely are they to take my advice when they already know how filthy everything is? ). I'm also not one to complain and seem as if I'm trying to get a refund or a discount. But since you asked and it's still on my mind…
The place was in need of lots of repairs. Overall the room was clean, however the carpets were sticky. The toilet leaked. The smell of air freshener was overwhelming. There were no wash clothes in the bathroom. The noise housekeeping was making was horrible. From t desk staff was not rude but not friendly either.
Don't have any kind of breakfast in the morning. No hot water in the bathroom sink. The phone doesn't work. There was a room x to 125 that as been on fire. No plugin by the sink. I will not stay here anymore. The people was not nice at the office after I ck In.
Very clean room, and quiet. Very adorable! The staff were very nice and courteous. I would recommend to stay there to all my friends!
Rm 137 should not be sold as non-smoking. Smell not too bad until I turned on a/c, maybe chg out filter, maybe charge custs a cleaning fee that smoke in any room. Rm 154 & 137 both have electrical and plumbing violations.
I was placed in room 125 which is located under the stairs and near a dark unlit hallway. L arrived 2 hours early for a Wedding after driving 2 hours from Rockford IL. L asked at 1pm for an early check in and that l would for it but l was told NO. And it was close to 10mins after 3pm that l was given a room key. The front desk person had no shampoo nor lotion when l came back later to ask. The staff a male and female were not friendly at all. Someone with a small child kicked me door serial times that nite also. It was too noise on the stairs. L was also on my visit and didn't fill safe in my room.
Bed is very itchy. Cigarette burns on toilet seat in non smoking room. Front desk staff is abysmal. Key card did not work to get in room on second night. Front staff member was playing on personal laptop for a full 2 minutes before simply looking at me and saying "what do you need" Called to notify them that Wi-Fi was not working two hours later. He said it was down and hung up on me. If you expect anything here to be as advertised you will be disappointed.
Came to this location twice. Booked online, nasty carpet, no ashtrays in smoking room. ONE TOWEL and that was used to reclean tub. No working outlets both times. Usually stay at the Lansing, il location but was robbed at that location. NOT really sure if I will give another try. Too many red flags.
The room was very sub par. Chairs were so gross looking that we wouldn't even sit in them. The toliet ran on and off all night. Bed seemed clean but was rock hard and uncomfortable. But what pissed me off the most was that your web site said that you had continental breakfast (which was one of the main reasons we chose to stay with you so we could eat before we went on our way) and when I woke up and made my way to the lobby, guess what? There was no breakfast just false advertising! Definitely not worth what I paid for the room and will not be staying at motel 6 again, nor will I recommend anyone I talk to to do so.
They didn't pull the lights and the hot water took and it didn't work the TV.
Rooms where nice and remodeled. The other guys staying here was loud and I could hear their conversations through my door so it was kinda uncomfortable. Ordered food from one of their food vendors and the entire order was wrong, also there are no vending machines or any stores near by so bring your own refreshments. Overall not bad for the price!
This motel was disgusting and we will never stay here again. The sheets and covers were dirty and no pillow cases on the pillows. The room was non-smoking but smelled like an ashtray and the walls were dirty and gross as well. I have stayed at many motel 6 and I have never had such a gross experience. We had three people in the room 2 adults and one child and the front desk never offered more towels and wash cloths so I had to drive all the way around to the front and get more since we had one towel and one hand towel in the room. There wasn’t a remote to the TV and the bathroom was dirty as well so I had to clean it just so we could use it. Very very disappointing stay.
The room was dirty. Not only dirty, but it had a HUGE hole I'm the wall. I couldn't find working Electrical outlets, but did discover a used condom and wrapper behind the night stand. The door closed very tightly, especially having both of my kids push it close. Never coming back or staying in a motel 6… I cancelled all the bookings I had set for my entire trip.
Complete shithole! I'll never stay there again! Wet dirty rag in tub, tube TV no remote, crackheads and strippers! Dirty!
Almost all the hotel card they issue customer registration do not work. You have to go back out to the front desk and ask them to reissue room card multiple times and every time you get you leave roon. Asked for non-smoking room. Is surrounded by other hotels but they intended to be a lot more reasonable with the price. Nothing fancy but reasonable.
The room was small and stale. One side of the room lights and outlet didn’t work the water was cold. Didn’t get any sleep there was running pass my room all night and constant noise. I was very dissatisfied with my stay but the staff was nice and polite.
If I could, I would give this a half star n m being generous. Worst place I've ever stayed in ☹️ very disappointing… And after a long day and previous stop at an unacceptable motel 6, this 1 looked nice from exterior n better location. It wasn't. Only 3 pillows on a king bed, 2 "bath" towels n ONE hand towel, 2 bar soap n nothing else! Looks like cigarette Burns on the toilet seat (? ), toilet runs, minimal TV channels, very VERY disgusting carpet (! ) Hole in lamp shade n heater, place in horrible condition. Nothing like pics on website, don't be fooled.
Room was comfy and clean. Decent for the price. Except there was pee in the snow directly outside our door on the sidewalk.
Almost loved it. Sadly there was no food storage for restaurant leftovers. We kept them in tje car since it was definitely cold enough weather wise. There were also no little sample bottles of shampoo to shower with like most hotels. The door was very difficult to open after unlocking. Still left in a good mood cause the beds gave me a wonderful sleep!
No Hot water, poor beds, nasty bathrooms, no heat, large space under the door. Poor service. Better off sleeping in car.
Horrible! Checked in 12/25/17 I had to switch rooms three times! First room reeked of cigarette smoke, 2nd room had no hot water! In fact the faucet broke off in my hand! 3rd room although the heat is set on 90 we're freezing in here! Can't even watch TV due to snow being on every channel. Not to mention a hole in bathroom ceiling, and fixtures missing in the bathroom! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DON'T STAY HERE!
Clean, comfortable bed and accommodation. Good customer service, upscale furniture and a strong heater. This last was needed because the steel entrance door let a steady draft in through the cracks. It should be weatherstripped pronto. The hot water in the bathtub took forever to heat up to lukewarm and never really got hot. Few channels available on an older style TV.
Absolutely bare-bones. No tissues, shampoo, hairdryer. At least I didn't see any bedbugs. Room was fairly clean, but needs total renovation. Shower was ice cold but warmed up after 5 minutes. Wondered if there would still be hot water for people who woke up later.
The hotel was clean enough, and the front desk person was nice. The room could use a coffee maker and more towels. I had one each of a hand towel, bath towel, bath cloth. Had to go out for a cup of coffee.
We arrived late at night (midnight) after a long day in Chicago and were poorly received by staff. First, we were told there was no reservation under our name. Then reservation was found but needed to be paid (although we paid in advance). Once that was solved, we were given keys to our bedroom. At this point it was close to 1am. As we entered our room, we noticed it smelled like cigarettes, there were different stains in our bed sheets and chewing gum on the carpet. The shower had almost no hot water. Overall, an incredibly frustrating experience. I would stay away from this place if I were you.
Bedbugs and they just shrugged my boyfriend off who ended up with 7 or 8 bitemarks on his back and arms, said it was nothing they can do for him at the moment. The dont even deserve a one star the lady at the fromt desk aly was rude. Never will I stay in a motel 6 again worst experience.
Spent a night here kept waking up itching first I thought it was me because I didn't shower before bed so I got up took a shower and fell back to sleep around 5 I woke up itching and just decided to stay woke turned heater cause it was a bit chilly laid down cut the TV and in the corner of my eye can see something crawling… It was a big bed bug in the sheets crawling omg took pics n video killed it called office the lady at front desk was non chalant told me manager comes at 10-11 I asked to be moved … upon check out I went to front desk asked for manager they told me manager was not there I asked for refund no refund left my number no call. So unprofessional.
The rooms walls are paper thin and so are the doors. Id stay if I was passing through n just needed a bed but to go for a romantic get away, probably not.
This was a bad situation. It wasn't clean. The toilet would fill all the way up to the top before draining. Ok asked them to fix it and they did. Later that night I went (thank God) and the toilet start filling very quickly. I called the as it pored over into the floor. I tried to stop it with towels. He said matienance is not here until the morning. I don't think he understood how fast the water was moving. Water went across the whole carpet all the way out to the balcony! Suitcase wet. Nothing they can do for me but move my room to what ended up being another bad joint. Just terrible. No iron. Took the towels the first night and didn't replace them…
After driving 7+ hrs I was notified that I no longer had my reservation that I made in January at this hotel because they switched from a Days Inn to a Motel 6… I was NEVER notified of any changes nor that my reservation was not being honored. There was not a manager available and no further help was offered besides "I guess you can call corperate". I was also told that the switch had just happened 2 days prior and that they had completely filled all of their rooms within that time. The entire situation was handled VERY poorly. My husband and I were forced to stay at a hotel where we questioned the safety of ourselves and our belongings, however they were still more 'accommodating' than this Motel 6 in Alsip.
The web site had indicated "standard" beds, which, in the parlance, means double size. I confirmed this when calling in the morning before our arrival to confirm our reservations. I am tall and these are a bit small for me, but tolerable; I prefer queen. I was very pleasantly surprised to arrive and find a king size. I grant only 4 stars due to being unable to convince them to combine my two rooms on one charge. This creates a problem for me which I shall not take time to explain.
One star because I can't give it 0. Let me start this review by saying I did NOT book with Motel 6, and I didn't book with them for a reason. The hotel I booked with was bought out by Motel 6 and I was not notified until I arrived, making it too late to make a change. NO breakfast was included (well, coffee… that's not breakfast). NO hot water in my room for the 3 days I stayed there, I had to shower in different rooms. The cleaning crew came in and left my blinds WIDE OPEN for everyone to see my personal belongings while I was away all day. No blow dryers. No refrigerators, or microwaves. Smoking rules were NOT enforced and my entire room smelled like smoke ALL DAY LONG! Smokers were smoking directly outside their rooms and right by my air conditioning intake. Nothing was done about this. Beds were so hard I might as well of slept on the floor. And crappy half size pillows provided! HORRIBLE! Didn't sleep at all the 3 nights I stayed there. Staff was extremely rude and not at all understanding. Worst hotel stay ever!
With the Doubletree next door having a bar and a restaurant, and upper class businesses all around; this is a safe place. The Inn is run down but clean and comfortable and the staff was great.
Wi-Fi hardly ever works most of the rooms that are non-smoking with flat screen TVs have very crappy television signal. But if all you need is a bed and a shower make sure your room has adequate air conditioning and you might be ok.
The room was clean, which is all I really ask for. The exterior looks like it could use some attention, and the toilet was noisy all through the night (needs the flapper replaced). Nothing to eat nearby except at the notel next door which has an upscale restaurant.
We stayed here this past weekend July 2nd-July 4th 2016. We stayed in room 202 and 204.2 members of my family have Bed Bug bites, and they were in different rooms and they do not live together, so it was definitely from this Hotel. This was the worst hotel ever. In addition to the BED BUGS, our rooms had no towels, blankets on bed, no pillowcases, tubs was dirty, phones did not work, and the coffee maker had black syrup coming out. Customers service was horrible, when we called to report the Bed bug issue, we was told the manager "Rachel" would get back to us, we never received a callback. I called back and ask for "Rachel" we was told A Rachel does not work there. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Its now July 14th and the Hotel still has not got in touch with me.
This place doesn't even deserve to any stars. Hotel room AC did even get cold. Horrible service… 6am breakfast what joke. Went to get breakfast at 6am front doors didn't even open till 6:15am and there was not one single thing set out for breakfast. The guy behind the counter looked as though he just woke up. Had to leave at 7am. No Wi-Fi at all also. Not worth even coming here for $100 a night. Won't be staying at a Days Inn every again!
My room was okay but the bathroom was pretty dirty, and we had a dirty towel in our room. Also, the door wouldn't shut all the way unless it was double bolted, and even then it wouldn't shut completely so I felt very unsafe. I woke up all night (meaning every hour) from people being too loud and being next to a busy road as well as near an airport. Water pressure isn't great either. It wasn't as bad as reviews I read prior to staying here, but I personally wouldn't stay here again. You get what you pay for I guess.
This room was very uncomfortable let start by saying the carpet is very dirty, sheets had a stain on them, the closet was on the wall, tub was dirty on the bottom where it wasnt properly clean, had a 1980 box TV that had lines thru the picture also only a select channels are available. Smelled of cigars& cigarettes … last night the ahot a rap video on stair outside of the room. Then Chicago police came like they where raiding the place.
Despite some of the negatives, I rather stay at this Motel than the Motel 6 in the area or the Lux Motel not far from there… The front desk clerks both Derika and Stefanny were GREAT AND FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL… I rate the rooms about 4, but very fair for the price. My advice is… If u want to continue receiving great ratings and awesome comments then get rid of the night guy clerk… he was late for 6am breakfast prep and he prepared it very slow and food was cold… but the Asian lady is an Awesome Person… place has parking for commercial trucks and I will stay at this place again… I loved it… Thanks Dereka… and Stefanny… You girls Rock!
Most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in the carpet was nasty the shower was dirty and the room just made me feel like I was dirty it was so bad I had to check for bugs (no I didn't find any) some lights didn't work the TV remote didn't work Wi-Fi has one bar this place is just a mess please don't make the mistake of staying here go anywhere else but here.
I have stayed here for ten days with a work crew, and will not be back. My first impression of the hotel, was a semi-clean room, without basic amenities: wash cloth, conditioner, and soap. Breakfast is never on time. The sign in the lobby days that breakfast is at 6, but it's a great morning if it is ready by 6:45. The office lady is usually sleeping in the dining area with the doors locked. If you stay here, and would like to eat breakfast, I would suggest knocking on the dining areas windows to wake her if the doors are locked yet. My overall impression of this Days Inn, has been poor. The room itself seemed nice, other than previously mentioned issues. I feel that the staff at this hotel is just lazy, and creating a poor experience for their guests.
Our single king size room was clean and worth the very reasonable prize. We slept in so was didnt have. Chance to try the breakfast. My kids had cartoon network to keep them entertained and the stay was enjoyable and very affordable. I have stayed in other hotels nearby that are $10 and much, much worse. You cant go wrong with this Days Inn.
Its great for an over night stay. The tvs are outdated, but other than that it was great.
I just needed to stay for a night before my flight from Midway. My stay was adequate. It certainly wasn't extravagant, but it was sufficiently clean, which is most important to me.
Loved it! I slept very comfortable will stay again.
I liked nothing! I am sitting here trying to find something good. But I honestly can't! There were bugs in my room, the walls are paper thin, there was No Wi-Fi unless u count the one bar on the signal. No continental brfst (which I probably wouldn't eat anyways). And to top it off, in the lobby while waiting for my ride there was feces in the sink! Please stay away. There's more negative things but those are the highlights. Please do not go there! U have been warned!
Great price for the area. In the area for Gaelic Park Irish Fest, so the location was convenient, 4 miles away. Close by but far enough away not to have to deal with sound and traffic from the Fest. The hotel wasn't fancy, but it was clean with good water pressure and a nice enough bed. Breakfast was better then expected had hot oatmeal and several types of breads/muffins, yogurt and fruit.
One word. Disgusting. The whole room.
Quiet decent area. Decent price not the best hardly the worst. I've stayed here so many times.
Nothing special. This was a pit stop for us so I wasn't expecting anything great. We were dead tired when we got here so we slept fine. The puke in the parking lot was a nice way to start the day and their breakfast was not up to standards.
This place is an absolute dump. Rooms reek of smoke. There are bugs in the room. Blankets were filthy. There was blood stains on the shower curtain. Avoid this crap hole.
Yeah, I thought ok I will give this a try but lets start with the likes. Close to the location I was at NOW dislikes. Dirty, paper thin walls, gappy doors — unsecure, NO INTERNET ACCESS as advertised and the pictures they show must have been from the day they open in like the 1990s cause I dont think its been upgraded since then. Please pay the extra money and stay at the Double Tree next door.
