We stayed at the Comfort Suites 8/24-8/25. Everyone on the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was nice, you could see the areas that were worn but it was updated and comfortable. The breakfast choices were good and the sitting area was very nice it looked onto the indoor pool. It is close to highway 80 & 90, convenient location. And at checkout they had travel lunch bags with snacks and water which was a nice and thoughtful touch. We would definitely stay here again if we are traveling through town.

This was our host hotel for our wedding nearby on 8.18, and it was a good experience. David Izinger was able to book us a block of rooms, and arrange a shuttle bus to & from our reception site. They gladly handed out the welcome bags we made for our guests, and we were even graciously upgraded to a honeymoon suite at check-in! The jacuzzi was wonderful after all of that dancing at the reception! The shuttle bus driver was very flexible with us. The only downside was that the carpets were very noticeably stained, but everything else was clean and fresh.

As a whole it is a pretty good hotel. My room has a little bit of an odd smell to it, but after a few minutes it isn't noticable. Breakfast if everything you would expect. Pool and hot tub suffice. Staff has been accommodating. It's very average.

Comfort Suites University Area South Bend, IN had a beautiful patio with great lounging furniture and a grill, along with an indoor pool and hot tub. The doors to the pool open up to the patio which is nice to get fresh air and sun before or after your swim. The staff was friendly and provided us with extra bedding and towels when we asked.

There was a microwave in the room which is really nice to reheat the dinner that often gets cold during the performance. The room was perfect and clean, and there was a free breakfast in the morning! I didn't get bedbugs? It's a fine lower end place to stay when in town. No complaints.

We stayed one night … very long story short, never, EVER, again! Dirty sink, 1/4 roll of toilet paper, empty Kleenex box. Clearly a party room! Upon exiting the room the next morning we were delayed a good 10 minutes because THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN! We finally got the door open by lifting and shaking violently… The "Manager — Supervisor" that next morning offered us $10 off our room bill?! After debating with him he told us he was only allowed to offer us up to $20 off which I was clearly NOT satisfied with and grudgingly accepted because we had to get back on the road. I wrote an email to the Corporate Office and got a very disappointing vanilla response. Soooo … dirty room, no paper products, pool and hot tub down for maintenance (noted under policies? ), and a clear fire hazard with the door … unbelievable, truly unbelievable! Management is welcome to a follow up on this if desired, not holding my breath. (I won't hide under an "anonymous" title for a legitimate complaint, so, you know who I am. ) Oh, and one more thing, the drive in entrance to this establishment was littered with potholes!

I wouldn't stay at this hotel again! The staff was friendly but the room wasn't worth the price. A few of the lights didn't work, the seal on the fridge was broke, the shower wasn't clean. The floors in the hallway were weak and loose. And the hotel upgraded our room to a spa tub only for us to have to deal with kids running up and down the hall way all night. And I suggested this hotel because our stay there previously was excellent, but never again. The parking lot was full of baby sink holes. Thankfully I don't need new tires!

I had a wonderful stay at the Comfort Suites in South Bend. My expectations were exceeded from check-in to check-out. The room was clean and quiet. Came stocked with everything I needed — mini fridge, soaps, clean towels. I got a great night's sleep in a comfy bed. Breakfast was great, plenty of things to chose from. And free coffee throughout the day, too. I will stay here again when I'm back in town.

I attended a seminar in one of this hotel's banquet rooms. I did not check into a room or speak with the front desk. But the front desk clerk happily acknowledged me, the lobby & adjoining rooms were clean & organized, and plenty of spaces were available in the parking lot. However, the road leading to the hotel was full of large potholes. This needs to be fixed A. S. A. P. Or people will bend a rim on their car or worse.

Quite, nice big rooms, lots of places to eat at. They provide good breakfast. In the morning. Nice in door pool… Friendly staff… One call does it all.

The whirlpool was great after a long day of work being on ur feet.

Very nice place, good location, people were pretty nice, warm breakfast, nice sitting area in room, Wi-Fi did not work very well.

Always accommodating to your needs and never complain when we need to check out later than the given time. For the most part staff is super friendly, cheerful and helpful. They never seemed to be bothered when we need extra pillows or sheets. When coming to visit our girlcs at SMC this is our preferred place to stay. Also, I'd have to say that the free breakfast included in your stay is not that bad as some people like to point out.

Very pleasant staff! Had a house fire & they helped. Had to clean sink & toilet myself. But this was the best staff I've come across in a while that seems tobwork well together. That means alot to me. ☻

Anyone giving this hotel a good review is a liar I will never trust any rating given by trustyou again And yes this is a new posting and not a month old this is November 29th. Yes I stayed here again why I do not know please take a look at the ice machine this time would you eat or consume any ice out of this machine I forgot to mention the last time I stayed here that the ice machine on the 4th floor was full of bugs and gnats and very disgusting at least the front desk that time was willing to give me ice this time they did not eat me until I told them I knew there was Ice behind the kitchen help me out once again but again the people at the front desk we're not helpful at all I booked the room and forgot to give them my military discount so when I checked in they told me already which was not the full amount for the military or government.

Service was friendly & quick. Room was clean. Had a couple of insects in the room. Didn't flip out but still gross. The continental breakfast was good. Overall the experience was good.

Lots of common areas to hang out. A nice trail behind the hotel to use. Lots of free parking. Big indoor pool area and outdoor common area.

When I went to check in, I waited at the front desk for 5 minutes while employees talked in a back room. The light switch in my room did not turn anything on. The outlet on the lamp by the bed did not charge my cell phone so it died first thing in the morning. The clock was not set to the correct time. The shower never got hot. It was barely warm. I will not stay here again.

At 3:30am on 9-17-17, Timothy, at the front desk, was wonderful. We had to travel farther than expected, so it had been a long day for us. Timothy was wide awake, ready to do his job and very pleasant. Thank you Timothy, for making 2 very tired people feel welcomed. Marsha Schrader.

Pleasant stay at a clean hotel as we moved my daughter in to school. Room was clean and free breakfast was nice. Easy to find right off the highway and two minutes from campus.

This is the worst staff I've ever worked with. They treat their housekeepers like animals while they sit and chit chat all day laughing at us. They are very unprofessional and rude. We found a methpipe and residue in a room and you would think they would block the room off and have the city clean it properly. No re-rented very next day. They wonder why they can't keep any help but they refuse to even help their poor help, low down as it gets.

Had issues the first day we were there. Left the hotel at 0700 and returned at 1300. Housekeeping had been in the room because a towel had been taken from the bathroom floor. No other towels, washcloth or floor mat was left behind. Toilet paper was not restocked, thus I had to ask for more. Beds were thrown back together. Spoke to the front desk and the were perplexed and apologetic. Received $5 in market gift card. We shall see what day 2 and 3 bring.

During my stay at this hotel there was a power outage that lasted several hours. I am a female that was traveling alone for work and felt this could have been a very scary situation for me. The staff at this hotel did a remarkable job making sure all the guests were safe. They walked the hallways with flashlights the whole time the power was out. They remained calm and did not become short with guests when we were asking questions. They had a smile on their face the whole time. They also bought us all pizza! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Had a great stay earlier this week! My husband and I were traveling for work. Loved that it was 100% smoke free. Bathroom was spotless and plenty big enough. The bed was comfy and we were able to get some much needed rest.

Service was pretty decent. The room wasn't really that great. A bit expensive and not very clean. After visiting family the first day here we came back to our room to find out our keys to the room had been blocked. Its got hot water and a bed to sleep on. Won't ever be returning here.

The place honestly seems a bit run down. I stayed here when it first opened several years back and it was a wonderful experience then. Now it feels like they desperately needs to be retouched. My room had several years left behind.

I had a great stay at your hotel. The staff was excellent and the room was one of the best I've stayed in. I'm a comedian on a long tour and this hotel has been one of the most relaxing places that I have stayed at yet. The location was great in relation to eateries in the local area, the staff was knowledgeable in local attractions that offered entertainment, and the hotel amenities were top notch. When I wasn't going out into town, I was enjoying my time at the hotel. The swimming pool area offered an indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. With plenty of lounge chairs around the pool, it was a perfect place to relax in the evening. The room had one of the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept in, and there was also a lounge chair, and a desk set up as well. All in all, this was one of my favorite hotels that I have stayed at in the last year, and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

The proximity to Notre Dame is definitely good, but the hotel could use a bit of updating. The service at the front desk was a bit slow, but overall the experience was good.

Had to stay here after my flight was cancelled. Staff was great, rooms were beautiful and clean. No complaints!

Stayed overnight with my girlfriend for Valentine's day. The staff was great. Didn't catch the managers name but he was friendly and super accommodating. Aside from a few minor maintaince issues, the toilet paper holder was kind of loose and there was a smudge on the wall that we noticed as we were leaving, it was a perfect stay. 9/10 will come back.

Very quiet relaxing place has fitness area dry sauna indoor heated pool and a very nice jaccuzi in the pool room. Nice rooms with big floor plans nice bathrooms too staff is friendly and considerate.

Stayed here a couple nights ago while out traveling for work. I was super impressed with this hotel. First of all the front desk staff were very upbeat and cheerful. When I got to my room I found myself thinking the room were actually more on par with higher tiered hotel. Marble countertops, nicer furniture and huge bath tub. I plenty of room to relax a couch and easy chair as well as a desk. I was delighted to find that they offer complimentary chili to guests (at least on Tuesdays in the winter). My room was quiet and had pretty much every thing I needed. I slept like a baby and when I woke up I was greeted in the lobby with and extensive continental breakfast. On a 10 day tour with 6 hotel stops I'd say of the 6 this was my favorite.

It was nice. No bugs. Very comfortable.

Its rated 4 stars. Its not even close. My room was filthy. Their rooms are overpriced, and not even worth the money. Probably the worst hotel ive ever stayed in in my life. The carpet had food stains, shower was dirty, mirror had water splashes, I would have had better chances in a hotel. The staff was friendly I guess. I made a complaint to guest services about my room, they said that they were taking 20 dollars ofd my rate. I go to check out, and I was still charged that 20 dollars. I was in a rush to leave, so I called later to get it straightened out and I was told, "oh we dont remember telling you we were removing 20 dollars" so im now out of money, once again spent on bad service. My mattress was sunken in, dust bunnys in corners, the wood had fingerprints from whomever on it. I went to use my iron and it literally looked like someone tried to iron dirt. It was filthy. Took it to guest services and was told "oh we'll being up a new one asap" only to wait 45 min to receive a new one. The staff was friendsly but nonchalant. Managers included. I was told my room was filthy because they hired new housekeepers that were still in training. Arent rooms supposed to be inspected by a lead? Idk they served bad service with smiles though, I guess that what counts. Lastly, I couldnt even sleep, because guests were literally outside my room door talking all night. Last time I stay in this hotel, or anything owned by the company. I was even scared to eat the complimentary breakfast.

My organization really enjoys working with David Azinger-GM at the Comfort Suites South Bend. He is very approachable and helpful. Aside from the hospitality shown by the staff, the property is well maintained, rooms are spacious, and the location is perfect. We will certainly be referring friends, family, and clients to this property for years to come.

Bit of a hole. Needs a remodel. The pool area is filthy. The guests are obnoxious tourists. The staff was friendly, room was decent, bed soft, water hot, TV / internet worked okay. Go somewhere else. This place just seems creepy overall.

We buried my mother on the Friday of graduation weekend at Notre Dame and St. Mary's. It was hard to find a motel with five rooms open, Brian at the Comfort Suites was able to accommodate us. Our party came in two parts, five people on Weds night and four people on Thursday night, all from out of state. They had us all on one floor within easy visiting distance. The breakfast provided was not gourmet but was certainly adequate for our needs. Most of us had some sort of cereal and fruit with coffee, juice or milk. A couple of the guys had sausages, ham and an egg patty. It was an okay breakfast, not fancy; but then again, we didn't have to go out in the cold and rain. The beds were fine, irons, hair dryers, a small fridge, coffee pot and microwave were in each room. We had one room next to the elevator shaft, which was noisy and bothered one of the sleepers in that room but it was graduation weekend and we were only there one night. There was a sitting area on each floor with sofas and tables where people could meet outside of their rooms. Overall, I would recommend this motel. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and comfortable.

Staff is great. I have stayed at many Comfort Inn's and this is one of the best.

Housekeeping staff was super helpful. My only beef was with the hotel manager (Brian) who had to be prodded to apologize for the tub in our room being broken, a footprint in our tub (ew), and the fact that we ran out of towels. Otherwise the staff all seemed helpful and kind. Room was spacious and seemed well kept.
