We always stay at hapton and never have any issues. Only thing the kids wanted to swim and the pool was ice cold.

The suite was nicely sized, but not in the best condition. The carpet and closet were damaged. The entire hotel was staffed by a single person (I asked, and they confirmed), who was completely overwhelmed by a family reunion staying there. I understand that the hotel is not responsible for other guests, but they completely monopolized the front desk, the pool, and the pillow, towel, and rollaway bed supplies. The pool was not well-maintained. The continental breakfast was very nice, although sparsely supplied. Similar Hampton Inn's visited during this same road trip had far more options, and did not run out of breakfast items. I would rate the overall condition of the hotel/experience as good, but worn.

Great hotel and great service. The first day I noticed a few things like some questionable stains on the office chair and they took care of it as soon as they heard it. The staff is very attentive to your needs.

Rooms are a bit dated but in decent shape. It is close to the highway so perfect for a road trip stay. Hotel attendant was very nice when I checked in.

I would have given them five star. But at some point the front desk person just left. So wasn't anyone available at the front desk, for an while. I think they should have given a little discount or did something other than later check out time. But other than it was awesome and clean.

Very spacious and clean rooms. We got a suite for 4 of us and it's perfect. All of the staff have been very helpful and friendly with the exception of one. The one seemed super annoyed when I asked if she knew what ingredients were in the home fries at breakfast (I have food allergies). She didnt know the answer and seemed irritated that I even asked. Besides that, our experience has been great so far!

Older hotel but clean rooms and interesting layout, good staff.

Phenomenal Hampton Inn even by their usually good standards. Newer and very well kept. We arrived at almost 2am after a long day of driving and the front desk lady was incredibly sweet and had a pack and play out and ready for our daughter to make the process quick and painless. Friendly service and good upkeep makes for an easy recommendation!

Very convenient location. Just off the 20bypass. Fast food close by.

The room was comfortable and spacious. There were plenty of power outlets including a USB hub for cellphones. The best part of the stay was the breakfast and coffee. That part may be biased because I love breakfast. The fireplace in the lobby made for a comfortable morning. The desk staff was polite and helpful.

Clean, quiet and comfortable room. Very friendly staff. Easy to call taxi.

The amenities are decent! The room itself was sizeable and comfortable, but some parts of the hotel just did not seem very clean. Not enough to deter me from staying here again, but was expecting nicer.

Hampton Inn & Suites South Bend is very comfortable. It is located very close to Bethel College and the University of Notre Dame. There are many restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel has a good menu as well. In the morning, there's a free breakfast. The rooms are of the modern style and a perfect size.

It's a nice place, even though it seems to be a pretty old building with a nice facelift. It's in great shape, though. The rooms were Hampton standard: nice and quite comfortable for the price. The breakfast was good, after I figured out I had to time things myself with blackened waffles and bagels from faulty equipment. The big disappointment was the "pool". It's ridiculously small! My living room and dining room together are bigger than the whole pool room… and I live in an apartment. There was no hot tub at all, either. I'd be upset if I had booked that place specifically because they advertised a pool. You can buy inflatable pools bigger than that at Walmart for the price of the room. Wait… maybe there was a hot tub… and no pool…

If I was able to rate individual aspects of this hotel, they would mostly be 5 stars. My complaint would be their lack of follow through and dishonest staff. I had forgot an item in my room (my bad, I know). When I called the front desk and inquired if it was there. Staff indicated that they were 'too busy' to return my initial call. Staff indicated on my follow up call that housekeeping was unable to locate my item. Several days go by, same process; same results. Tried again several days later and (finally) got a return call saying housekeeping was still unable to locate my item. I am upset with myself for leaving something of value behind, but more upset with the dishonesty of their staff for not presenting my item to management for return.

We stay in a king size bed and my brother in the sofa bed. But he complained about the sofa bed being to hard, so he didn't sleep all night. The king size, very comfortable and breakfast was good too.

We stay at Hampton’s all the time and normally everything is great but this time we had a couple of issues. The first day we were gone from early morning till evening and our room was not serviced. First time thats ever happened to us in s hotel. They had the worst pillows ever. They are almost like throw away pillows. They feel like they are made with cotton balls and they make a krinkling noise when you move them.

Overall, this is an excellent hotel when you can get the rooms at a reasonable price. Clean, comfortable, great breakfast, and even a pool! My only complaint is about the design/layout of the building itself. Honestly, what were they thinking when they placed the elevators at one end of the building, instead of centrally located? It's a crazy long walk (for being such a small hotel) if you get stuck in a room at the opposite end of the building from the elevators.

Went to South Bend for my nephews motocross race. The hotel was fantastic. Clean rooms friendly staff.

Our stay was clean and very pleasant! Management was very kind, and personable! They went above and beyond. Clean workout room! Free breakfast till 10 a. M. Free coffee and tea all day! Felt at home in this environment! Special thanks to April!

Where do I start!. Great location!. Great staff. And real nice clean rooms!. I am a Comedian/promoter that brings artist to the South Bend area. Salute to the Hampton Inn & Suites. 10 mins away from my venues. Quick and easy check in. Just over all great service!. If your traveling to the South Bend Area. I recommend you stay here!

Overall, the hotel was spacious and clean. Please be aware of the posted breakfast hours. The first morning I was a couple minutes late and ended-up in line with blue shirted hotel employees in front of me. The hot food was gone when it was my turn. Frustrating. The next morning, about 2 minutes after 10 the same thing happened. The blue shirted employees line up and clean-up the remaining food as they quickly tear-down the breakfast bar, despite a full dining room. Seems like they could give the guests a little more time to finish up.

It was nice. Room was clean and the bed was comfy. Didn't spend much time there so I can't say how the breakfast or pool was, but the room was good and I'd stay there again.

The hotel was VERY clean as soon as I walked in which was a lovely sight to see. The staff was beyond incredible, very nice and very informative on the places around town for food. They recommended four horsemen Pizza and I was not at all disappointed! That Pizza was amazing and added to my enjoyment of my stay. Will definitely be returning next time I am in South bend.

Best Hampton I've ever stayed at. New indoor pool. New but small gym. The layout of the hotel is the worst part. Pretty decent location, near some restaurants and near the highway.

The staff were all very friendly and accommodating! Clean and comfortable rooms, we stayed in a room with a king bed and it was nice. The pool is a little small, but we did alright since we have young children and no one was there. Awesome breakfast with plenty of options for everyone.

I love staying here we are in town painting the Walmart and have been here 3 weeks and got 3 weeks left, I am going to hate and miss this place when we have to go to a different town and a different hotel … every one here treats us family and feels like our 2nd Home! Food is Great, Entire Staff is Fucking Awesome!

We stayed at the Hampton inn and suites during the 28th of November, the staff was super friendly, the room was a bit dirty and there were stink bugs in the room. Otherwise if was very nice, just clean the rooms better, the remotes for the TV was very dirty.

Great, friendly staff and a great room rate for me, my wife and eight month old little girl. They accomated us rather early in the afternoon and the room was comfortable. We mistakenly left one of our car keys there and realized after we left south bend. We called and asked them to search the room, they found it and mailed it back home no questions.

This place is very nice and clean. I have stayed in suites at the MGM in Vegas that was not as nice as the room I have here. Its been great so far — I'll put it at the top of my list for next South Bend stay.

Great staff, very friendly. Room was clean, recently remodeled and comfortable. Had to stay there because of recent snow storm. Would definitely recommend hotel to others.

We didn't even stay here and loved it. We had a six-hour wait for a train to Boston, with a Hampton reservation there. We just stopped by this Hampton, and asked if we could just hang out until check-in time. They gave us the TV remote, invited us to the snack bar, gave us a newspaper, and made us comfortable in front of the fireplace to watch the football game. I don't know about the rooms, but the service is amazing.

Having had an extended stay here in 2013 I found the 'free Wi-Fi' to be pathetically inadequate, having had dropped calls super slow browsing and crossed calls. Like most hotels/motels the room prices triple during Notre Dame football season. Some rooms are much better than others.

It is a good hotel staff are friendly and breakfast is good.

We reserved at this hotel last minute as we were heading home on a road trip. We like to stay at the Hampton Inn when we travel because there is a consistency to the offerings. We were surprised that this hotel does not have a refrigerator and microwave in each room. All in all, the rooms were clean and spacious, the staff was very friendly and breakfast was good. The hot entre was cold, but popping it in a microwave fixed that.

The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful when we arrived. It was rather late when we checked in and the cookies had all been eaten, so they made some just for me. WOW! The room I had requested was not available and they gave me a free upgrade to a suite with no extra cost to me. The wonderful service continued throughout my stay and I was really really impressed. I enjoyed the room, the indoor pool, the free wireless, and the great breakfast. The staff was more than understanding any any and every situation. Thank you for a great stay. I would recommend this affordable place to stay with exceptional service.
