We planned on staying at radisson blu aqua for a nice extra long weekend. Two rooms were booked, one for my mother in law who was flying in from London, and one for my husband and I. He and I arrived early, around 11am, and we're told our room wasn't ready (which we expected, as check in is 3) but that they'd sort our reservation and hold our bags for us. Jennifer was very sweet and helpful, telling us that she'd upgrade us to park view rooms so that we would be on the same floor, which was very thoughtful, and that they'd work on getting our rooms ready. We left to meet at the airport, and we're back at the hotel at 2. Hoping 2 hours would have been enough, we tried to check in around 2:30 and our rooms were still not ready. Okay, we'll go grab a soda in the bar. 3 rolls around and we wait in a 20 minute queue, only to be told they weren't ready yet. At this point we were tired and frustrated. The girl up front at this point (not Jennifer from earlier) said all they could do was notify us whenever they were ready and maybe offer us alcoholic beverages, to which we informed them we don't drink. They offered nothing else and were told to wait until our room was ready with no guarantee of when. Our rooms were finally ready around 4. We asked for late check out as their site says they are happy to allow checkout as late as 6pm. We were told they could do 2pm but with an attitude like they were doing us a MASSIVE favor letting us stay that late and they refused anything later. Not sure why their website says otherwise. Upon going to our rooms, one is Park view as promised, but I don't feel like the second one is, there's just a large building outside our window. Hallway doors slam loudly and we can hear people walking by in the hallway from time to time. The room itself is nice. Bed is comfy. Most of the staff, bell staff and doorman have been very friendly. The rooftop pool is nice, people were grilling out near it as well so that was kind of cool. Edit: When we went to check out the same woman who said we could not check in was there, and she gave us her card and apologized, saying she would "try to give us a nicer room or something next time". This came across a little bit "too little, too late" for us. Don't know that we'll be staying there again, this was kind of a one time splurge for us and we can't say we were totally satisfied. So much for the 100% Satisfaction guarantee policy.
