I recommend if you are looking for a place to have a Family Reunion, Birthday Dinner, or Wedding Holiday Inn Champaign is the place you want to be. I had the pleasure of working with the general manager Vicki and Paula Vonlanken from group sales. Also the Front Desk was amazing it’s always good when people call you by your name. James and Melissa at the front desk were very kind. Also all of the rooms were very clean we had no complaints. We had a Dinner Buffet and Sunday Brunch hats off to the Chef all of our food was very good. But many loved the Roast Beef because it was so tender. Overall it was a astounding weekend. Also very close to many Restaurants and the State Farm Center. Thank You Holiday Inn and Staff. Del Owens.

Spending 2 days here while attending IFSI. Rooms are nice and very spacious. Dinner at the restaurant on site was delicious. Not everyone can cook a great ribeye, but the chef nailed it, and I didn’t even have to leave the facility.

We enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Champaign. It’s in walking distance to a Walgreens and Custard Cup and the U of I stadium. It’s a very clean hotel rooms are exceptionally clean and spacious. The kids loved the indoor pool. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel. We also enjoy Chief Josh monthly luncheons. Great Holiday staycation.

My son & I stayed here last night. We are from Bloomington Indiana. We were in town for the AEW Wrestling show @ the State Farm Center. This hotel was wonderful! Very clean & comfortable. The staff was so friendly & helpful. The breakfast in the hotel was FABULOUS! Best omelet I've had in a long time! We will definitely be back!

Extremely rude staff, unexpected charges. A bathroom that doesn’t lock, seriously the worst hotel I’ve stayed at but here I am because they refuse to allow cancellations.

Hotel was under construction so I kinda give it a pass, but the rooms still smelled faintly like paint. Also the location of the TV in relation to the bed was awkward. Other than that the hotel was nice and there were plenty of dining options nearby.

Went for conference. Great place. Clean, they had coffee and water available to us all day. Nice time.

The company pays for this not me, but I can say without a doubt I wouldn't spend my money to stay here. It has been under construction for a long time and the rooms that are available are old and the walls are stained. Additionally the water pressure is so weak it feels like you're getting peed on. It used to have an awesome breakfast with made-to-order omelettes, but now that they've moved the breakfast area it's mediocre at best. I gave them two stars because the front desk crew really does do a good job with what they have. Everything about it really seems makeshift and thrown together because of the construction. If it were me paying and not the company I would just stay at the home2 that is about a block away.

Place was in a great location. But unfortunately when I visited it was under renovation. So breakfast was held in a conference room that fits maybe 60 guests. Good selection of food for breakfast. Overall experience was positive and would recommend to anyone who wants to be walking distance from the UofI Stadiums and Fields.

This hotel was in the middle of renovations, which is why they get a pass on the poor quality of the rooms. The room smelled musty and there were scuffs all over the walls. The shower was of low quality, but thankfully I was there overnight. The location was nice in relation to downtown.

This hotel is a nice stay with a refrigerator and microwave in the rooms. It's currently under renovation but I did not hear much noise.

Very expensive for a crappy hotel room — water stains on the walls, deteriorated pull out sofa was bad to sit on and even worse to sleep on — there is mold in the bathroom, the windows were covered with plastic so we couldn't see out, the heater/ac unit had a weird smell that it blew out. When speaking to the staff, no one really cared — housekeeping came in prior to check out without knocking with no apologies. It was a poor experience.

I visited this hotel with my family while on a trip to check out UIUC. Overall, the hotel had everything I wanted — swimming pool, vending machines, etc. However, though the room itself was nice, the actual hallways and hotel areas are in need of some long needed renovation. The walls are pretty dang scratched up and the piano though lovely looks like 50 cats came after it with full force, claws out. It was a really nice stay with a wonderful breakfast but is in dire need of renovation.

The employees were so helpful! We were in the area to visit our daughters at military school and needed help finding places to have some fun! I had called a few times for suggestions and ideas. The employee Martin was so very helpful in working with us to make it the best visit possible! We will definitely e staying again! Thanks to all the employees that we came in contact with! You all were wonderful!

The hotel was very clean, and my room was comfortable. The shower was nice as well. I had no complaints. Every time I travel to Champaign, I stay here because the price is right and I've always had a good experience.

Nice, older hotel. Staff was very helpful. Room was clean, but not spotless by any means. Vending machines were questionable. Pool was small and cold. Free breakfast was better than I expected. Still has traditional checkout rather than being able to leave your keys in the room. Room was spacious, but beds were older and not super comfortable. Overall, ok for one night, but probably would stay elsewhere if stating in Champaign again.

Lobby has a contemporary style. Room decor was acceptable. Toilet was too low, I felt as if I was dropping to the floor. In addition, it ran all night causing me to keep the door closed. Tub had no slip protection on bottom. TV reception was poor, stations had frequent buffering. Saving grace: complimentary breakfast and Bath and Body works toiletries.

Very welcoming staff with nice accommodations. Would love to have a stay here one day.

There was parking available along the building. Beautifully decorated for winter. Excited the new renovations.

DON'T EVER STAY HERE! My sister and her family are traveling 16 hours because our father passed away last night. She has 3 kids with her. On their way, she made a reservation for 1 night. When they got there, no room available. Oh and it gets better, they ask for a refund and will just somewhere else… no big deal, right? No, the hotel tells them they can't refund the money. Ok they can't refund the money, my sister is standing there with her 3 children, we just lost our father and you are going to argue with them at 1 o'clock in the morning? Is this even legal?

It was a pretty nice hotel. The service was very friendly. There were a couple stains, though on the couch and one of the curtains. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. Great otherwise, though.

Great spacious two room suite. Very comfortable. Clean and well equiped with a couch, desk, kitchenette, and plenty of space. Desk attendants were great — very helpful and efficient. We would definitely stay here again.

In door pool and in hot tub. Although the hotel is older, but it is kept pretty clean. Hotel should invest on replacing all faucets and carpets, although it is clean, just looks OLD. Breakfast here is definitely a big plus. It is included with hotel price, and have a custom omelette for you. Breakfast buffet is not bad as well.

Clean, spacious and convenient. Things I'm looking for when traveling. On a hot weekend I appreciate the A/C working great and housekeeping doing a great job with a slightly older property. If I had one issue, I had hoped they would have had the full breakfast out earlier as they accepted youth sports groups that can have early leave times. I understand weekend hours vary from weekday hours but perhaps an exception could be made based on sales dept. Related business. I recommend this property completely.

The Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham is an extended stay hotel. When I was a guest, the rooms here had a sofa couch, a king or 2 double beds, a "mini bar" (meaning an extra counter with an additional sink, microwave, and fridge), a desk, a TINY bathroom that had an area about 48 square feet, and a spacious vanity sink outside of the TINY bathroom thankfully. But I never said this was nice, it just had a lot of potential. The one thing that was nice was the pool. It was very colorful with painted bricks and an inviting pool and hot tub. Also, the conference center was gorgeous, as I would have wished that have been continued throughout the hotel. It had very modern wall lighting, and very fancy chandeliers. But of course, in the main hotel, it had ugly utility lights that you would find in like a Sleep Inn. And the wall lights in the hotel hallways were gold and very dingy. I still never got you informed about the lobby which was crazy! I found the couches were torn, garbage everywhere including a Starbucks frappe on the side table. None of the lamps worked in the lobby and the business center had a desk from the 1960s which was a little outdated. The hotels breakfast wasn't good. The only good thing was the omelet man who was very nice. He cooked up yummy omelets. But nothing else in the breakfast was good. Speaking of the omelet man, the staff were very rude. To conclude, I found a shower curtain with mildew on it, and some spiders and stains.

The experience fit the price. If the building, equipment and vibe are all a little old and worn, they are all still sturdy and practical. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was oddly distant, but manageable.

Got a sweet deal from a Visa rewards program. Spacious suites but parking is weird. Check with the front desk before you commit to a spot.

Attended a small wedding in one of their event spaces. The space got the job done, but the true shining star (s) of the event were the staff. Great people and good service. The only qualm was that the restrooms were sub-par. Wet and slippery floors and an unpleasant smell made the space less than desirable.

While our hotel room was awesome, the rest of the hotel was sub-par. Each time my son and I went to use the pool it was overrun by a large group of children, none of whom had parents supervising them (per the rules children needed adult supervision). Each time we went to the pool I had to ask the staff to replenish the towels. The elevator & pool seemed very dirty. Our room was nice and very large, but it rained outside and the window was actively leaking in to our room. Overall for $180/night I don't think that this hotel is worth it. While the service staff was available to answer questions, the hospitality and charm was lacking. No one seemed very happy. I would not visit this hotel again.

So far we have been told we booked on expedia when we called them directly. My mother is allergic to soy dairy and gluten. They have made sure not to follow her dietary requests. Because our organization is smaller they bumped us to accommodate a larger group. We have had these reservations for a year. The front desk staff is rude and dresses like an exotic dancer. The hotel is dirty. If you ask for a wake up call at 6:15 expect a call at 6:45. Horrible experience.

The jacuzzi room was really nice. Wish I had more time there and could have also gone to the pool. It was nice to find a hotel like this in Champagin. The room had two TVs but I could only figure how to work one.

The Hawthorn Suite rooms were a bit crowded and not well equipped for presentations. The presenters struggled with the sound system and projector and could not easily find electrical outlets. The room and table setup was satisfactory if bland.

The room was clean. The bathroom was a bit small, and the lighting was very dim. They were pretty busy the night night we were there. Apparently there was a high school event that weekend, which led to a lot of noise in the hotel. I can't really blame the hotel for this though. Be careful of the parking. The lots next to the hotel are owned by other companies. The signs for this are confusing, but warn of towing. The parking for the hotel is in a lot across the street and down the road just a bit.

Stayed here multiple times. Close proximity to Memorial Stadium. Dog friendly. Within walking distance to many restaurants. Staff is friendly & polite. Complimentary breakfast is 2nd to none. Three thumbs up!

I was super disappointed with my stay at Hawthorne Suites by Wyndham. I will say that the staff was VERY friendly, but that's where my satisfaction ends. The entrance way was filthy. I mean, built up debris that is in serious need of a power wash. The entrance way for the elevator was also filthy. This wasn't one day of debris, and over my two day stay, the dirt and debris never went away. The room was very spacious, but did not feel clean (maybe it was because the exterior and hallways were so poorly maintained. ). The ceiling had large cracks and pieces of paint peeling off throughout the room, and the bathroom was definitely in need of a clean. The shower curtains had spots of mildew/mold all over, and the back of the door had a mysterious brown streak… super gross. Overall, I would not stay here again. I would have given it 1 star, but the staff was genuinely so nice the 3 encounters I had with them, that I bumped it up to 2 stars for customer service.

Love the Room Hate the limited close parking!

To be honest, I've lived in better hotels at a cheaper price; the Wi-Fi is incredibly slow, and the Ethernet cable doesn't even work; the workout room is old and worn and very, very poorly maintained; the TV channel guide is wrong; the room description is misleading. Yeah, there are definitely better places to live at a cheaper cost.

Very nice rooms, comfortable Vedas, and clean! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is the best I have ever had. They even had an omelet bar free of charge.

Very happy we chose Hawthorn Suites in Champaign for our Company Christmas Party. It was awesome. Every one loved the food and the desserts. The banquet room looked amazing and decorated perfectly for our occasion, The lobby area was also decorated with beautiful Christmas trees. Couldn't of asked for more friendly staff.

Catered an event that was over priced and poor quality. Two of our guests became ill. The staff was also very rude when we told them what happened. The rooms are in terrible need for updating. They are not investing any money in this place. I do not recommend this hotel. Try the Hilton Garden Inn next door. At least Hilton stands behind their quality and has a 100% satisfaction guarantee policy.

Very professional staff, on every shift! My Wife and I own a taxi service in town, and if we ever need a motel in town it will be the Hawthorne. They pamper their guests with calling transport for them. We Wilbur and Sheila Really enjoy working with the boys and girls at the Hawthorne. We publish this letting everyone know that we have kids much older and younger. These kids do their JOB! and more.

Stayed for 7 nights. Every one was comfortable and relaxing. I was placed on the first floor and was in a handicap room. Room was spacious, clean, and quite. Housekeeping leaves you alone if you have your do not disturb sign hanging on the door. When you take it down to leave they reset the room to pristine condition. In my room I enjoyed a really comfortable king size bed. A awesome 32 inch flat screen TV. A sleeper sofa and coffee table, desk, and roomy bathroom. There was also a mini kitchen complete with coffee pot, sink, coffee maker, and mini fridge. This hotel also gives you free internet both wired and wireless. Included in your rate you also have access to a hot breakfast buffet. It included omelets made to order, waffles, biscuits, ham, gravy, scrambled eggs, and continental items also. Juices, milk, water, and coffee is also on hand. Stay away from the milk from the little cartons. Cheap and taste like cardboard. They also have a free dinner on Wednesday (which I never went to). There is fresh popcorn in the lobby in the evening and also an okay sized pool and hot tub (both often empty and never crowded). There is a TGI Fridays that is awesome and on site. Also a McDonalds, Hooters, Hardees, Ice Cream place, and Walgreens less than a 2 minute walk away.

My wife and I chose this hotel because of its close proximity to Assembly Hall at U of I (we were attending an event). The room was clean and spacious enough, with no trouble connecting to the in-room Wi-Fi. The king bed was C-O-M-F-O-R-T-A-B-L-E! I am a light sleeper and I sawed logs for 9 hrs (I was VERY relaxed on the mattress! ). We were so relaxed, we both missed the breakfast buffet (which I saw what was offered when they were cleaning up — and it looked good! This was no wimpy continental breakfast, to be sure! ). If I had anything bad to say, it was that I clearly smelled weed being smoked from the Housekeeping area on the 3rd floor — — but that is a management problem. I personally don't care what people do on their off-time, just don't take it to your work area! I also thought it was a little ironic that the desk manager told us on check in that there was a $250.00 fine if any guest was caught smoking in their room. Hey, dude, talk to your staff, too! Other than that, Hawthorn Suites was a comfortable, clean stay with good people.

I stayed 3 nights in the king studio room. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I especially appreciated the courtesy shuttle that both picked me up at and dropped me off at the airport (very timely — — my flight leaving was at 6am! ) Also, the hotel is very close to the campus, which was convenient for me because I was traveling without a car.
