Excellent staff, very clean and comfy.

We love Lightner! Steve, Theresa, and Jason spoil us every time we stay! Had a great time recently with friends. Wonderful rooms with a taste of history, great breakfast, and lovely grounds. It is a must-stay in Gettysburg.

The experience was lovely kind owners. Would come back again.

Lightner Farmhouse B&B was an AMAZING experience! Teresa and Steve are wonderful new owners that really make you feel at home! Our room was clean with more amenities than we could ask for, and Chef Jason provided wonderful breakfast and housecleaning services each day. The property is gorgeous and clean, yet maintains its time period feel. It is very nicely priced for any amount of nights that you stay (we stayed four). The porch is delightful to spend the evening on, and the trails on the land are really enjoyable. Only a short drive from town off of the convenient Baltimore Pike, we highly recommend you stay and will certainly be back! Not to mention — the house dog Holly is so well behaved and lovable!

Theresa & Steve are amazing hosts! The B&B is beautiful, Theresa & Jason’s breakfast are fab and Steve’s education on the area: is better than reading it from a book! Our weather was perfect! They set up a docent for a several hour private tour of the battlefields… un believable to say the least.

Just coming from a weekend at this lovely home. Highly recommend the Cedar Room with the attached veranda. Close to town but out far enough to enjoy the crickets. Fantastic breakfast, delightful owners and cozy gathering spots.

Very comfortable and welcoming. I also have a great ghost video and many orb videos too. We will definitely be back. I am going to try and post 2 of them on their fb page. I did get permission to do so from the owner because it is amazing, even she couldn't believe it. However my language is not good so if you do see the video turn the volume down… she did say for me to post it anyway. Happy travels.

Such a nice home and very comfortable; the rooms are open, light, and airy. Eileen and her family know how to make a guest feel welcome. Close to town, easy access to the battlefield, and a few hours drive from the DC and VA/MD/PA attractions. I look forward to another visit sometime.

And adorable B&B that brings you right back to the Civil War era. Loved the rockers on the porch, the delicious waffles, pumpkin bread and tomato and egg strata. Eileen, her husband and son are wonderful hosts and have a wealth of knowledge about the Lightner home and the Civil War era. So enjoyed our morning history lessons over coffee. Highly recommend staying here.

Top notch destination while visiting Gettysburg! The house is historic and very well maintained to its 19th century origins. The Hoover's are the most gracious of hosts as well. Located just a few short miles from everything Gettysburg!

I've stayed at many B&B's but the Lightner is by far the best. Dennis, Eileen, and Jason are wonderful hosts. The breakfasts are so delicious, something new everyday. I particularly enjoyed the historian on Saturday morning. Eileen also has quite an impressive historical presentation put together about the farmhouse which was very interesting. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. This is definitely the place to stay and relax.

An experience like most things in Gettysburg, truly one of a kind. The hosts are the sweetest, and fresh-baked cookies are just like grandma use to make! Would stay here again and again!

A great, historical place to stay while you're touring this historic area! Innkeepers are wonderful people and it was hard to leave as they are enjoyable to talk history or anything else with! This IS a 150 year old house so if you want sparkling new niceties your barking up the wrong tree. If you want clean, quaint, full of character and amazing stories of heartbreak, history etc. Then you WILL want to be here! It was so nice to get out of the hustle of the park and get out to the house. If you're concerned about a drive it isn't even 3 miles from the visitors center. We personally spent down time on their great porch or I would sit in the cool of the amazing basement lounge room. They also clear cut a nice wooded walking trail on the property. Bottom line, great breakfasts, good company and a comfy bed in a quiet setting. Its all a simple, easy going person can ask for! Thank you to the Hoover family! See you again soon!

Stayed in the Cedar room. The innkeepers are incredibly nice and knowledgeable people. I very much enjoyed talking to them in the evening and at breakfast. The chef is fabulous and provided a wonderful breakfast. The farm is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. There's a fireplace heater in the rooms that looks and feels wonderful. You definitely won't be cold in the winter.

Former military hospital ties in well with local history. Hosts, accommodations, food were all wonderful. Well stocked TV room in basement.

Gettysburg — where history truly comes alive. The converted farmhouse has charming rooms with antique furnishings. The innkeepers are welcoming and helpful as well as extremely knowledgeable about the battle and its participants. First class breakfasts were delightful served in a charming dining room by an experienced and friendly chef. We hope to return for another stay when we're in the area.

My mom and I recently stayed at the Lightner House. First of all it's a beautiful property. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Dennis. He was very nice gave us a little tour and history of the property. Excellent. The room was really nice. Everything is pretty much original. We stayed in the Cedar room which has a private porch and entrance loved that. We booked a ghost your with Betty Roche. She is the best. It was just my mom and I and she was just so informative and really loved what she did. We went on other ghost things and nothing compared. Food was great owners were super sweet and nice and helpful. Only complaint is that since it's an old house and we were on the first floor you can here the pipes and water from upstairs. Definitely coming back.

The Lightner Farmhouse located in Gettysburg is by far one of the best bed and breakfasts in the area. From the home history to the beautiful rooms, I stay there often and recommend it to anyone whom wishes a night or nights away.

Dennis and Eileen are the absolute best! We love you both and enjoy staying here.

This was an awesome place to stay. My fiance and I stayed in the Pine Tree Suite for 2 nights. We were greeted by Dennis and had a nice tour of the home and enjoyed the history of the house too. It may have been a cold and rainy stay but it was very enjoyable. We met some very nice people from California and Washington state. The breakfasts were very good! Eileen was there both mornings with a smile on her face. :) It was nice to walk in at anytime and get a homemade cookie, too. We plan on visiting Gettysburg again and eventually move there. In the meantime, we know that we have made friends in Eileen and Dennis and can't wait for our next stay! By the way, no ghosts. At least this stay. LOL Tom Hansen, Corry, PA.
