Nice relaxing place feels like home.

Lovely owners Beautiful home. But be prepared for paranormal activity on the second floor. I stayed in their lovely home August 23-25. I made several videos which I showed the owners. So if you are looking for beautiful and scary. This is the place. Can’t wait to return.

No hot breakfast, but a comfortable room with a refrigerator and en suite bathroom. Attentive hosts, helpful without hovering. One free scoop each from their shop. The best strawberry cheesecake ice cream ever. I would stay with Barbara and Steve again.

From information given and reviews — we expected a hot breakfast instead of a shared kitchenette with just snacks.

Had a wonderful 2 night stay the room was very clean and kept enjoyed the owners and all the help and information they gave us.

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend in November 2017 and really enjoyed it. My husband works in the hotel industry, but neither of us have ever stayed at a B&B before. So we gave Sentimenal a try. We were greated warmly by Barbara. She showed us where the room and where the kitchen was. Only down fall ismifnyou want a "warm home made" continental breakfast, they dont offer it. But have enough breakfast selection to choose from. I would go back again.

Wonderful Rooms and very clean. A private parking lot. Owners are extremely nice and the Inn is peaceful. A few doors away is Sweeny's Tavern and The Farnsworth House, which I highly recommend too!

The owners are very friendly and concerned about your comfort. The rooms and amenities are nicely decorated and clean. The location is also great because you can walk to the all of the shops and restaurants in town, and the battlefield visitor center is a 2 min drive down the road.

The room was very nice and clean, we had our own bathroom. The bed was comfortable, it was kuyst a little warm at night. The owner made her own ice cream in the shop next door. Breakfast was continental but had a very large variety. Will definitely stay again.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Barbara is the perfect host and she and her husband made our visit very enjoyable. They provide a well stocked kitchen with plenty of choices for the continental breakfast they advertise. My wife likes Almond Milk and Barbara offered to pick some up when she goes to the store. And she did.
We stayed in the "Chivalry" room which was decorated in a WWI motif. Sentimental Journey is located close to everything and the battle fields are a short drive away. We elected to try the auto-tour of the Battle Fields where a licensed Guide drives your vehicle around to various sites on the battle field. It was SUPER. Then we visited the Museums… there are a lot of museums around Gettysburg… and we saw a video of a ghost or two taken by a fellow traveler. We will stay there again when we get back to Gettysburg.

Fantastic place to stay. Barbara and Steve are perfect hosts and provide a wide variety of breakfast choices including juices, milk. Coffee, and cereals, rolls, donuts and other sweets. Our room, 2, was named The Age Of Chivalry and decorated in the era of WW1. Each room is named and appointed in the proper era of that name. To say that my wife and are happy with our experience is an understatement. Whenever we go back to Gettysburg we will make a point of staying there.

My mom and I stayed here one night and loved our experience. This B&B is so charming and feels set back in time. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the location is perfect for exploring Gettysburg because it is right downtown next to good restaurants, ghost tours and shops. The best part of staying here is that this B&B is family-run and the owner and her daughter are darling. We definitely recommend staying here for the best Gettysburg experience!

Arriving early Tuesday morning as newly weds we were able to get into our room Barbara had everything ready for us in an envelope on the fire place. Our bed and breakfast was right in the heart of Gettysburg. The 1920s is the style of the inside of the house it felt like we were there in that era with the vintage decor. Our room was easy to find right up the stairs we walked into our room with the same decor The antique style metal bed frame with a perfect mattress both of did not have any back pain. When I walked into the bathroom and I saw the bath tub with the feet I freaked out that is the bath tub I want in my own house. For noise we really didn't hear anyone very quiet. Oh and there is a 24 hour kitchen so you can get food or drinks anytime you like. Barbara also owns the ice cream store next store I got the chocolate coma really big scoops so good. Your are able to walk everywhere the cemetery is close by as well as restaurant. You will have to drive a bit to get to little round top but you can walk to devil's den and and walk to the other memorials which will bring you right back into town. Restaurants to eat: Dobbins house Tavern very good food. Tommy pizza the best that my husband and I have ever eaten. Gettysburg Eddie's awesome service and food. To shop Gettysburg souvenirs and gifts the gentlemen at the counter is extremely nice and has plenty of stories. Also has information with maps that you may need to know what's around town.

One of the most charming B&B's you are ever going to stay at. Especially if you are a history buff, with historically-we'll rooms, furnished with period antiques and interesting artifacts. The owners are very nice as well. Highly recommended!

Absolute gem of a place. Owner was very nice and professional. Room was lovely. Think we had a guest tip one of our chairs against the wall. Very reasonable price for being downtown.

We've just returned home after visiting Gettysburg this weekend for my wife's birthday. An excellent visit was made all the more special by staying at A Sentimental Journey. The rooms were wonderfully decorated; comfy beds, great conveniences and nice little touches in the rooms. The location was perfect for sightseeing and walking around town, and the hosts could not have been any more accommodating. I highly recommend if you're looking for a place to stay in Gettysburg, stay here — we look forward to a return visit and hope to try one of the other themed rooms (and the ice cream)! Thank you Barbara (and Steve) for a lovely weekend.

My family an I have been going to Gettysburg every year. An have stayed in several different places. But this place will now be our 1st choice! It very clean, an makes you feel like your at home. The couple who run the place are wonderful. Barbara is super sweet.
I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else now. I don't get to see my aunts an cousins a lot. So the time we do get together an go to Gettysburg is very special to me. An this place makes it complete! I highly recommend this place.

Stayed in July 2014. Wonderful B&B. Owners are really nice and super helpful. Bed was perfect. Rooms are each decorated a bit differently and make you feel like you're in a different time. And truly on vacation. The kitchen is right out of the 40s and 50s. If you can't find cereal and buns to your liking, you aren't trying. Pick a room in the back. They're quieter. Front rooms are on the busy main street. I don't like running an air conditioner, but ours was perfect, masked the street sound, and provided a quiet restful night. Everything is within walking distance. (If may appear they're on the fringe of town, but you can get anywhere in 15 minutes or less. ) You'll have to drive to the battlefields and museum. Plan to spend at least a day at each. One day isn't enough to see the cemetery, battlefields, museum (which is world-class), and explore the town. The price is perfect. The owners don't stick it to visitors. They gave us every reason to return, which we will, despite being on the West Coast. We've stayed in B&Bs all over the country with more amenities, but none with classier hosts. Try this one, you'll want to come back.

My Children and I stayed at A Sentimental Journey B&B this past April. The place is a treasure trove of interesting memorabilia! It is kept very clean and my kids said the beds were so comfortable. The rooms were all a very nice size and decorated beautifully It's in a fantastic location within easy walking distance to town and many attractions. The owners of this B&B are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They're very friendly and accommodating. We arrived at 10pm and they couldn't have been nicer about getting us in the house. They can tell you anything you need or want to know about Gettysburg and go the extra distance to make your stay comfortable and memorable. It's a 5 star accommodation at a very affordable price. Highly recommended!
