Motel

A small motel off the beaten path. Was clean and the price was cheap. The owners were very nice. Will visit again when in town.

As remarked by others, this motel is 'modest' mostly because it's from a couple of decades ago in design … roadside motor hotel with no or few amenities beyond a vending ice machine, beverage machine, air conditioning (not quiet window unit) and TV large flat-screen connected to cable but with few "authorized" channels. Trash emptied daily, fresh towels daily. However, aside from the bathroom floor, the accommodation is clean and neat with a tremendously huge bed with a mattress of that new "jump here and it won't move there" material. Too soft for me … personal choice. Mostly fresh paint all over. Plenty of parking on blacktopped lot. The shower water is hot and the neighboring rooms quiet. No disturbances. You get what you pay for … the rate for this motel is good for what is provided and beats by far the fancier palace prices of newer towers in Gettysburg proper or nearby. Red Carpet is affordable and should fit anyone's budget. It's a place to rest, recover, sleep, bathe, and go touring from, not reside in. Gettysburg downtown is four miles north, a quick hop by car. The Battlefield and attractions closer by a mile. I'm a senior and not fussy and compared to some past experiences, even at the higher end hotels, Red Carpet here in Gettysburg is all I required to enjoy a week touring the Battlefield and area.

Old, outdated, stinky, dirty. You get the picture. Unless you're really hard up on cash, spend a little more and head on down the road somewhere.

Great room for the right price. Woman in the office was polite and gave me some info on local places to eat.

Stayed here in September, was very disappointed. Very dark rooms, very outdated and not at all near the battlefields, would not stay there again.

The people who run this hotel are the nicest people. Rooms are a little dated but we rested each night.

Our room was fine, but did have the smell of carpet freshener. The staff was very nice. Good location to the battle field. Very quite as compared to the hotels in town. If you are looking to do Gettysburg on a budget this is the place. For the smokers, they do offer a smoking room. Which we liked. I think its the only place that does. I would stay there again.

It doesn't look the best outside but inside is awesome.

I called the night before my arrival in hopes for a room for the reenactment. I was shocked to get a room, and was pleasantly surprised how nice the older motel was, and the low cost for such a big weekend… with no minimal night stay! I really don't understand what people expect sometimes when they review Motels, when they obviously require 5 star Hotels. The owners could not have been more accommodating! I visit Gettysburg several times a year, and normally to prefer to stay within walking distance of the battlefield in the town area, but this is a great place if you are looking to get a break from the shopping, tourist area.

Clean, comfortable motel with everything that you need. Also, very close to the Gettysburg battle site and museums. Would highly recommend!

Owner is very friendly. Rooms are very nice for the price, much better than I expected. Will stay here again! (Ice machine is in need of repair)

Stayed 2 days, 2 nights. Room with a king size, firm bed was clean. Nothing off the hook or overly fancy, but it suited our needs. Management was very receptive to our requests. The website quoted coffee and donuts for their breakfast. None were readily available on our first morning. The manager ensured me that they would be available the following morning, and they were. Word to the wise, if you want coffee and doughnuts tell the manager prior to the morning. The toilet was a low sitting model and required some skill to effectively land into position compared to a standard height toilet. All in all, a good value for amount paid. In the country, peaceful, saw a young doe deer meandering across the road on our second day. There was minimum traffic compared to other lodging nearer to the battlefield monuments and visitor centers. Easy assess to Highway 15.

Rooms are nice but a bit small and could use some TLC (paint, clean the AC vents, basic misc. Stuff) but overall nice and a great price, also great location to the battlefield. I'd come back! Edit: Gave an extra star for the cleanliness of the rooms and the fact that their house keeping is on the spot. Fresh towels daily and clean linen. Great work!

The service was great. Friendly staff that was very helpful. Beds were clean and fairly comfortable. Room was small and the A/C was loud. Location couldn't have been better; just a quick drive outside Gettysburg.

Enjoyable stay! King room was clean and cozy enough for a roadside model. No complaints here!

100% shenanigans. I book a room and give him my card number. The next day I drive 3+ hours and the jackass guy at the desk says he gave away my room! This is unbelievable. I'm stuck in Gettysburg with every other hotel/motel booked up from the tourist. I will never consider this place again, and I hope you don't waster your time. Wish I could rate this place in negative stars.

This motel, though I thought was clean, is Disgusting and full of flies everywhere! Luckily I had everything as their soap, shampoo, etc. Has got to be YEARS OLD! I have a son in the nearby college for the next 4 years and I would NEVER spend another minute here again, it's gross!

A little pricey but cheaper than other places closer to town. It's a tourist oriented area so that's to be expected. Room is clean, manager was very helpful, near to sites & restaurants. Also close to York (1/2 hour) for those who may want to visit the Harley Davidson plant.

The price is so reasonable, the staff so friendly! not fancy, but clean and adorable setting! A few miles out of town not far from battlefields. Would definitely stay again!

It was a very clean place! The owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful! It's also in a pretty good location. I would definitely recommend staying here!

We made reservations thru a service @$99.00 a night which indicated it was nearly fully booked as it did most of the other area hotels. We found this to be most misleading to say the least. Great service from Paul, manager — front desk man who gave us good directions and many fine suggestions while we were there. We found him most helpful which made it all worth it. Frankly thought that the room rate was very high even though it was close to the battlefield. Very clean and comfortable and quiet — well maintained, but in need of a property face-lift. Pool out of order, but was not a priority for us. I would stay again with a rate of $65.00 to $72.50 a night — and if a friendly person like Paul was there. A front desk person is so important in unfamiliar territory. For a 2 star hotel, I give it a great rating. Thanks again Paul; my lover Ron and I had a good time.
