Ac did not work, understaffed our rooms were only cleaned every 3 days, building is old and breaking, bad carpet in the hallway (tripping hazard) more lights out than working,

I stayed there a couple weeks ago. A couple member’s of our group had to request new rooms as the ones given to them were extremely dirty. Luckily my room was at least clean. After leaving I realized I had left a brand new blanket in the room that I bought for myself. I called, spoke with a couple different people, left numerous voicemails, and have never received not one call back. I hope your housekeeping staff enjoys “their” new blanket. Not to mention the breakfast that was $8.00 each, and was one of the worst meals ever. Cold derail, toast or cheap bacon & bag eggs. I will never stay there nor even remotely come close to recommending this property to anyone.

The coffee garden is a nice place to have breakfast.

My wife and I checked in to our first room, urine on the toilet, toothpaste in the sinks and filthy floors. Called and changed rooms. We waited about twenty minutes for new room keys. Went into the second room and again the room wasn't clean; food stuck on the entertainment center, sinks dirty. I went down and we ended up checking into a third room that was barely passable for being clean. When I checked out I brought up the need for a discount for the hassel and was informed that none of the management was present, on a Sunday morning and that either the front desk supervisor or the manager would be calling me to discuss a discount. I finally called on the following Friday since they hadn't called me as promised. I spoke with the manager and he informed me that a discount wasn't an option because I supposedly "destroyed" the rooms that we didn't accept "making them un-rentable". (yes they thought about renting out the rooms that were filthy to other people). We were also accused of stealing the towels from two separate rooms along with some sheets. I was also informed that I haff made "blatant threats" during the check out process.

I arrived pretty late for check in… the key card I was given did not open the door & there was a do not disturb sign on it. I went back to the desk and they said they would look in to that room and reserved me a different one. The next room I entered stunk. I pulled the bedding over and found a lot of hair on the sheets. That was enough for me. I immediately booked at room at Hyatt Place. I am sitting here now and feel so much better. (also, their “downtowner” name is deceitful — they are across the street from a stripclub and not within walking distance of downtown)

The didn't clean the room well at all. Our floor is filthy! Dirt, hair, dust bunnies. My daughters feet turned dirty gross after being barefoot in the room. The TV remote also doesn't work. Very unsatisfying. Wont be staying here again.

We have stayed at many other Red Lion hotels and have generally had good experiences. However there were many inadequacies at this location. There was no ice bucket in the room.
Ice machine on 3rd floor did not work properly; did not put out ice. Phone in room did not work.
There were Cheerios under the radiator in the hallway. Carpet was worn creating a trip hazard. I understand things being closed due to the virus, but this hotel had an overall rundown quality and lack of care that had nothing to do with COVID restrictions. I am glad we are staying here just for the night as we move through the area and we’re not counting on a vacation spot.

This location is currently renting quite a bit of space to a local shelter, my children and I had several unfavorable experiences with individuals who were supposed to be staying in those areas. They have signs saying that floor 2 is “reserved” but as a single female traveling with small children I feel guests should be notified or have better signs so that people like myself can make the decision to not stay there. I respect them wanting to help this organization but when you have individuals not in their right minds they have no business being roomed with families on vacation.

Nice clean pool side rooms.

Just a much needed time for self care and the place was exactly what was required for that purpose.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Red Lion downtown Boise! all people were very accommodating everything was so comfortable in my room I felt at home my bartender was the best guy ever shout out to Shane! and I would recommend anything on that menu can't wait to come back see you on the 4th! PS I do only have one recommendation and that is we need a pump up the Jets for the VA people in the hot tub! Thanks for a great day see you soon.

The hotel is very dated and not kept very clean. The floors in the rooms are laminate and are not cleaned daily. This is a dog friendly hotel, unfortunately, people do not picked up after their dogs. I was traveling with my dogs and I stepped in dog poop multiple times in the designed dog walk area while walking my dogs. On a positive side, the staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful.

Shawn was absolutely amazing! The kitchen was closed for an unexpected reason and no food at all was being served. After driving all day and checking in at 10 pm, he went above and beyond to make sure we got a salad to eat and a drink to take up to the room after. I am very disappointed with the service I have received for an event that I was going to have here. September 2018 I booked a ballroom for my sister's wedding for September 2019. They had a great price and we were assured that the carpet in the ballroom would be replaced before the wedding. Things started going wrong in May when we found out on Facebook that the carpets would not be replaced until 2020. They were willing to work with us and did give us a discount, which was great. The beginning of July my other sister called to confirm her room reservation for the wedding and was told she did not have a room reserved. Herself and my step mom then received the worst customer service from the front desk and other (I wish I had names, but they didn't get them). My brother-in-law had been calling our event coordinator for a week with no response. Finally he goes in today to find out that he had quit and nobody bothered to let us know. A wedding is a stressful thing to plan and to not let us know that our event coordinator had left is awful. That is no way to do business. I wonder how many other people don't know that their event coordinator is no longer working there and that someone else has taken over the account…

Hotel check in was friendly and was very accommodating. Room was very nice and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Great hotel would stay again never will we eat in the charter restaurant here again, horribly prepared food using fine fresh ingredients. 2 cooks for dinner meal who call themselves chefs nothing came out as advertised on menu no attention to detail, this team is ruining a good place to stay with a very good waitress. If u like disappointment eat here.

The Place is very dirty. The trash cans are over full. Cigarette butts around the benchs out side. Therr little pond was full of much, trash and mildo. The place is just dirty.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Made a reservation. Told we could check in at 3pm. Arrive at 3 to be told, sorry no rooms are available until 7pm. The Huskies were staying there and they would not check out until 5. I get the team needs more time, but you should not make vacancy an option if people cannot check in. I was not the only one that could not get into the room they paid for at full price but only getting half the time on it. We went to stay elsewhere.

Pretty comfy bed. Easy 1 mile walk to downtown area with sidewalks available all the way. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, except shower did have a couple spots of mold higher up. I would stay again.

We had a short stay at the Red Lion, but we did enjoy our stay. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice location in Boise, as well. I think that our favorite part was the ease of access and the comfort of our room. We works definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

The hotel was a good value for the price. Terrific lobby and friendly staff. Stay clear of the sports bar restaurant, however. Our server failed to bring us silverware for almost 10 minutes after our food arrived. After 5 minutes I went to ask and he said he’d forgotten and would bring it right out. I needed to ask a second time. Also, salad dressing never arrived and the entree was not prepared according to the menu. There server was absent for most of the experience.

I only had food at the character's bar as part of the red lion hotel. Service was a bit slow but there was only one cook and one bartender. The food was good but then a large dog (great Dane) entered and nearly ate our sandwiches. The food and drinks were pricer than other equitable establishments.

Our company spent several hundreds of dollars for 3 nights — several rooms. I understand a mishap could happen, but our negative experiences were too many to ignore. First, the rooms were unbearably hot. One group had to change rooms on day one. Then another room's TV remote had no batteries. In another case, the room key did not work to open the door. Too many things in a short period of time. I had always heard the Boise Downtowner was a nice choice. However, unless things improve, we will not be taking our business there again. Too bad.

We dropped in for a small nonprofit dinner and the service and staff excellent. They served enough variety where we could choose all vegetarian options so good for us. They also had meat for those that wanted it. Lighting is great and the stage sound system is wonderful. No complaints.

We went to an event in Boise on June 8th, we weren’t sure of the area or what hotel to stay in so we let Priceline surprise us and they booked us with the Red Lion in down town Boise. We felt like we hit the lottery… This hotel was beautiful from the minute we walked in. The front desk worker Eddy was very friendly and even made our trip more awesome by up grading us to a room with a Mountain View room with a balcony. Out of hundreds of hotels I’ve stayed in, this hotel has the most beautiful pool and spa of them all… We will definitely be back soon.

A pretty and welcoming entry. Plenty of parking. Delicious snacks served. I did notice that the carpets in the conference room we were in downstairs were quite dirty. Vacuumed, but needed an obvious cleaning. Otherwise, the spaces were very clean, including the restroom.

We enjoy staying here because the hotel is pet friendly, but doesn't smell like musty pets. The free breakfast is decent, and the hotel staff have always been friendly to us. I also enjoy the free shuttle to anywhere downtown, even though most attractions downtown are relatively close and within walking distance. The rooms have been remodeled, and our rooms have always been very clean. I do always bring my own soaps, etc because I think the ones they provide smell slightly masculine. But they work well if you are in a pinch or not wanting to carry your own during travel. I am not 100% positive, but I think the hotel water might be slightly softened? Also, any time I have had a request, such as an extra blanket or a porta crib, they take care of the request typically within 15 minutes. Lastly, the hotel pool and hot tub are outside (for colder months, maybe not as enjoyable). Over all, we are always very happy with the rate of our room-make sure to account for an extra $15 per pet and check on which kind of pets they allow. We take our dogs. (Not sure the breakfast is still free)

Room was great with a balcony. Front desk was amazing! Joy was her name and she was that and then some. Saved my birthday even though the pool was closed and the hot tub wasn't working. Joy deserves a raise… she's Awesome! The shuttle driver was super nice as well.

Hard review to write as someone close to me stays here for work from time to time. I think he gets a much quieter area. This place was NOISY with drunk people all night long in our hallway. We stayed 5 nights and the closer to the weekend the more obnoxious they became. Absolutely zero filters and I guess management did not care since we were right by the front desk. Our thermostat never got cool (in May) so it is not as if it was working overtime. The room was large but no where to conveniently access your suitcase or store it when not needed. The drawer space was great for our toddler but not for us. The bed was okay but the sheets came undone easily so the mattress was always showing. The parking lot is in need of repair and there was always a large group of partiers loitering outside. The only plus was we were 5 minutes from relatives who live in an amazing part of Boise. This was just a place to sleep which was interrupted every night. For the amount we spent per night here if it was not for our relatives I would not let my husband book us here again. We did not use any of the facilities, the dining room looked dated. Tub slow to drain. Carpet by side entrance was buckling and a trip hazard. People always by door smoking dressed just enough to be legal.

GREAT VALUE! This is an older hotel that has done some nice updates. Room was very clean and updated. No carpet but laminate floor was clean. Nice big TV and very comfortable clean king size bed. I am totally staying here again.

Stayed on the 3rd floor of the older tower. The room has hardwood flooring and the decor is relatively updated despite the older construction. Gym facility is minimal and the pool was not open during our stay, although the jacuzzi was. Best part of the hotel is the 24 hour shuttle service and staff members were all very friendly.

Great place. Love staying here. Only comment is the hotel is starting to show it's age and is in need of updating the common areas.

Given an occupied room, as in someone asleep in it… not just their stuff! Thank goodness they were asleep and clothed… YIKES! Then on the DAY 2 of the stay FEOM HELL, They removed ALL OF MY ITEMS from my room saying I didn't have a reservation for night — expedia and I both disagreed. You would have thought I asked for a first born child when I said I didn't think I should have had to pay for any of the stay. They comped one night… supposedly… credit card bill still shows pending… (4 days later). Guess we will see.

We stayed in a newly remodeled room and it was beautiful! The staff was beyond helpful and extremely kind. I would recommend this Red Lion to anyone. Also great job to the house keeping the rooms were spectacular.

Front desk staff was incredibly unorganized and checked us into a room that already had a guest in it. When we called to ask about room service the woman who answered could not have been more rude telling us that room service was suspended and acting like we should have known that despite it not being posted anywhere in the room. The hotel itself wasn't bad, the rooms were nice and very clean (good job housekeeping! ), but the rest of the staff is, in my opinion, severely lacking in basic customer service skills.

This hotel was amazing. We where placed here by greyhound. And the hotel went above and beyond to help use. The bar was great food was amazing bartender funny energetic kind. If your going to stay anywhere stay here.

Our room was freezing. I'm not a fan of the new hardwood floors, made the room colder. Worst sleep ever… the fire alarm went off twice, once at 4am and again at 5am and the cleaning staff was really noisy. There was a loud hum right outside our room all night. I had stayed here before and it was a good experience, this time not so much.

Professional people working there, they are doing their best for the location a little ways from downtown. Rooms are updated, the hotel itself is showing a little age. Parking is much easier than downtown, that is for sure. Also attended meetings the next morning, good meeting space, coffee was great.

Beautiful rooms! Beds can shift on the hardwood floor a bit and squeek when you move too much, but gorgeous rooms for an affordable price. Nice pool and hot tub, only complaint is no complementary breakfast.

I'm really enjoying my stay here. It is really configurable. I love the drapes in the room. I love the soaps in the bathroom. They let me check in early. I was given a couple shuttle rides. It has been a real surprise to actually experience this level of hospitality. I kind of wish I could afford to live here.

Great Hotel! Awesome staff and cozy rooms. This was last minute booking and we got a very nice, clean room. I would recommend this place to everyone. Right in the middle of town and lots to do around here if you are just visiting.

The hotel itself was very nice. Comfortable bed and a good size room! Only complaint would be how they nickel and dime for breakfast. Had to pay almost 3 dollars just for yogurt and I don’t think they had a complimentary breakfast! Other than that we enjoyed our stay!

The hubby and I are locals. We stayed here after attending a company party, it was great. They picked us up and dropped us off so that we didn't have to drive. Super friendly and helpful.

Reasonably clean, decent price. Heat in room didn't work. The entire property is long over due for an update. We won't be back.

The kitchen staff was very friendly, and the room curtains were beautiful… That was about the extent of our good experiences there. Nobody at the front counter (when they even bothered to be there at all) was ever knowledgeable or professional, and our rooms weren't necessarily the cleanest I've ever seen. Not the worst experience, not the best; It served its purpose as an affordable bed to sleep in while we were in town.

Nice hotel. Minutes from downtown. The room had a 40 inch TV and lots of room. Be careful of the shower. Water gets everywhere if you don't close the curtain well enough. 8/10 would stay again.

Great location. I LOVED that they have free bikes to use. My wife and I biked around downtown. It only took a few minutes to get there from the hotel and we didn't have to worry about parking. The rooms were nice, but maybe a little outdated. Not super clean. It was pretty obvious that the toilet hadn't been cleaned. At least not thoroughly. And if the toilet wasn't cleaned, you can bet other stuff wasn't cleaned either. I would probably stay there again.

The room was big and quite nice beds. Only thing is that there is just nothing to do in Boise (or how I have experienced it). We had to look for hours to find a place to dine. (which is not the hotels fault). In general the hotel was good for its price.

Very nice staff. Food is good, bar is lively. The hotel itself is a bit dated and starting to show it's age. But Wi-Fi was fast and reliable and I had a nice big TV in room. The place seems really well run, possibly overdue for a remodel.

I must say that the check in experience was HORRIBLE. I booked using Hotel Tonight, and showed up at about 9:30pm that same night shortly after I booked. The agent was very disgruntled and acted like it was an inconvenience to check me in, and thus took forever in doing so. He was upset that Hotels Tonight sends faxes rather than other communication and told me that they were oversold that night, after spending 10 minutes clicking away, presumably double charging me. When I politely asked him to just let me know if they are overbooked or not so I could leave and find another hotel, he magically found a room for me, which didn't surprise me since it would seem obvious at that hour if there was a room available or not. Finally, when I was checking in, he indicated that he needed my Plate Number on my car. When I told him I don't know it and had just returned from my car getting my luggage while waiting endlessly for him to finish checking me in, he told me that without the license number it was likely they would just simply tow me. He said this with a great deal of attitude. I indicated my car make and model and year, 1990 Porsche Convertible White, and said that it was not a common car and they should just note it and not tow it. He reiterated that it may be towed. Then I asked where the elevator was, and he again acted like it was an inconvenience to tell me. Getting double charged on this added insult to injury. I do not recommend this hotel.

The heat was "not turned on" & the room was freezing cold, when I asked for blankets they brought me a mattress pad cover, we were not informed there would be no heat when the temps were in the 30's, no apologies were given…

I only stayed for a quick overnight trip and didn't see much of the hotel other than the lobby and the room. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and appeared to be recently updated. I would stay here again.

Older, yet nicely set up hotel. Nothing too fancy, but comfortable. Beds are clean, toiletries are local and vegan, in-room coffee is delicious. Tazo brand tea. They definitely make up for the older appeal with nicer quality amenities. The only negative thing I could say about Red Lion is that the AC in each room looks like it was from 1950. It definitely doesn't get "Hotel Cold" overall nice stay.

Had a great experience here. The rooms are very clean and relatively spacious with microwave and fridge. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a great complimentary buffet breakfast, as well as complimentary services like free bike rentals and shuttle service within 15 minutes of the hotel, which includes downtown destinations. Check out also isn't until noon, which is nice. I recommend!

It was fun my friends and I got a room to watch the fireworks from a balcony on the fourth of July. The a/c was a little wonky and the pool could have been warmer but otherwise it was great. The food at characters was awesome as well.

Good location, rooms are a bit cramped, water pressure unusually low made for substandard shower. Not bad.

Horrible. The sheets don't fit the bed. There is no mattress pad protector… eww felt so gross. Housekeeping didn't replenish any coffee in the room. Housekeeper reeks of smoke and every time she left our room it reeked of smoke. We spent the rest of the day airing the room out. ***They charged our card $421 the day we checked in and lied and tried to make it our fault (looks like we weren't the only ones either) and then charged us our real amount of $301 the day we checked out. DO NOT STAY HERE! Many better options in Boise.

Book elsewhere. This building is old. Old bathroom. Small gym. Customer service is not the greatest.

Under staffed but it was a hard day to staff, food was good but a bit pricey, service was alright over all. Will mostly be back next year.

I recently attended red lion hotel Boise for a conference. Easily accessible, close to downtown but without the hassle of finding parking. They have their own lot that accommodates many people. It looks like they are in the process of updating — floor was being redone. There was a little bit of noise disturbance but not too bad. Meals and snacks provided were very good.

A bit pricey for what they offer. Not a deal, but not outrageous.

The food was very good and the service also meet my expectations. The conference rooms were clean and comfortable.

It's a nice place so far. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bed is very comfortable! I have a tower room and a nice view of the city at night. Had a fuzzy visitor on my balcony this morning, no idea how a squirrel got 6 floors up!

We had to make an unexpected trip from southern California to Boise. We had a sudden death in the family. Used yelp to search for accommodations, we decided to stay at the Red Lion Hotel. Teresa B. And Misty B. We're amazing! Making our stay less stressful dealing with our father. Bartender at Charicter'S was amazing too. We got 2 rooms, they were very clean & beds were so comfortable. I don't what's going on with those pictures posted. The hotel was very clean. We plan on returning in the summer. We will most definitely be staying at the Red Lion Hotel in Boise.

Visited the hotel for Salsa Night and it was a great atmosphere and a lot of fun.

Went to a friend's work party. They set the place up very nicely and her room was really nice.

This place had the worse service, I have ever experienced! They lost our reservation, then their bar had the most awful people working, none of them were friendly and they took 30 min to even ask if we needed anything. Then the charged our credit card twice! Paying someone else's bill. When we called to demand our money back, they never apologized and told us it would take 8 to 10 days to get it back. They messed up and we are paying for it? Do not go to this place! They are ripping people off!

The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our suite with the jetted tub. The free shuttle service into downtown was such a convenience. Great hotel!

Was a nice stay overall. Just wish the bathroom was cleaner. Had hairs and just wasnt as clean.

My bill was supposed to be $234.59. Red Lion Boise Downtowner charged me $920.71 and overdraft my account. Then they made me jump through hoops with my bank to try and get the funds back for their mistake. They had no idea how it happened, or who at their hotel made the mistake. Now I have overdraft fees with our bank, and we have to wait days to get the money back. I tried to find the hotel's email address to contact the manager, but their corporate website doesn't give direct contact information. So this is my only way to attempt to communicate with the hotel. Their lack of professionalism will keep me from ever staying here again.

My experience was absolutely the worst. They screwed up my billing and I will never RECCOMMEND anyone to this hotel or stay there myself again I RECCOMMEND looking at other places you could find a more updated room and better pricing else where.

This is our favorite hotel to stay at when visiting our "Little Bronco" wh is a student at Boise State. Clean rooms, nice staff, pleasant lounge, ok pool, great location within walking distance of all the fun downtown and the Green Belt.

Worst food we have ever had, made McDonald's a 6 star restaurant. Met a friend who had a short time before a business meeting. Soup was cold, bbq chicken sandwich "patty" was rubbery and stringy/bread smelled moldy. Service was great though by waitress. Maybe a few drinks makes the food better.

I'm glad we stayed here last weekend. The hotel and rooms were clean, staff was super friendly and shuttle available every half hour. We also enjoyed exploring downtown on bicycles which Red Lion had available for us.

Best price in the neighborhood by far. Nice room, good view, free Wi-Fi and free parking, nice tv, direct TV cable, close to everything going on downtown.

I was very happy with my stay at the Red Lion Hotel in Boise. The front desk offered a very competitive rate even though I came in at the last minute with no reservation. One of the staff offered to drive me and my family downtown so we could get dinner, and then picked us up afterwards. The room was a good size, well-maintained and clean. The room included a fridge and microwave. The only reason I'm rating the facilities a 2 instead of a 3 is their only elevator happened to be getting repaired during my stay, and was out of order. Although, they did offer to carry our bags up the stairs so we wouldn't be inconvenienced. The staff were so friendly and helpful, it really made my day after a long road trip. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.
