Not clean, surfaces werent wiped. Asked for a quiet room and put directly above 3 screaming toddlers. Forget this place.

Great place people friendly clean.

The hotel is a good walk from downtown. It is an old style motel with room doors that open directly outside. There is no hotel snack area, just a cheesy set of vending machines that promise you can use your credit cards. No joy, you have to get cash. Credit doesn't work. The freezer portion of my mini fridge was frozen over. I m guessing they never defrost them. No way I could have used it if I needed it. Not sure why my room was called a deluxe room. It was tiny, no closet, just a nook to hang stuff. The toilet was very small. The sink looked good but would splash out every time we turned on the water. My room was only cleaned after I asked. I am not sure at this point if they service the rooms daily. Not as nice as a normal Red Roof Inn. I was told they have new owners. Maybe they will fix up things. We had a young couple that just spent half the night outside our room on the phone. Guessing there is no one checking the premises at night.

Friendly staff greeted us when we arrived. We really enjoyed spending Memorial day weekend here! The breakfast was free and very good. Pet friendly and clean hotel.

Great place, friendly staff and dog friendly. The room was nice and clean and so were the beds. The bathroom and towels were also clean. Perhaps my only complain is that the shower curtain showed that it hasn't been change in some time. But over all a great experience.

The room had plenty of towels and other accessories ready when we showed up. The bed was well made, but I could tell the sheets hadn’t been changed because there were a few stains and hairs. We stayed 4 nights and they only fixed the beds and gave clean towels 2 out of the 4 days which was a downfall. The walls were thin but not many people were there so we didn’t hear anyone really. The pool was great, and it wasn’t too crowded there so I had a blast having the whole pool to myself! The staff was nice and it is conveniently located in Helen! I also love how it’s on a hill! Great place to stay.

It was much nicer than I expected. The staff was very friendly and polite. The rooms were very clean and seemed very updated and recently renovated. The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint was that the walls/ceilings were rather thin, so you could hear the people around you. That said, I would still stay here again.

Amazing location! Very clean rooms and upgraded! We had a Jacuzzi in our room and enjoyed our stay. The pool just opened. Breakfast was complimentary and very good! I would highly recommended this place to anyone visiting Helen. Will come back.

This hotel has a great location and is located within walking distance of downtown Helen. The staff was very accommodating and hospitable. The rooms are very clean and look like they have been remodeled. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling with a family or for a romantic getaway!

We stayed there few days before New Year. Supposedly not a very busy time. The hotel was low on staff. Even though we had a reservation, when we got to the "cleaned" room, we found body hair in the sheets. When we brought this to the attention of the receptionist, I had to go down to the front desk, get new sheets and change the bed ourselves. Sheets were so worn out you could see through them. The hotel has upwards of 50 rooms. The breakfast area has two tables. One little counter with one meager waffle maker in limping working condition. Standing room only 99% of the time if you want to eat. Walls are made of … paper? You can hear everything, and I mean everything from all the rooms around you. Will not stay there again.

The room gets 5 stars the staff was nice. However we stayed here anticipating getting breakfast so we could take our time getting ready. Now we are in a rush so we can get something to eat. It wasn't much of a breakfast, they had a few muffins cerial and danishes. The oj tasted like water. We will choose a better place next time we come to Helen.

Completely remodeled. Wood floors. No carpet, thank goodness. Clean. Quiet. Bed was very comfortable. Great location. Front desk was helpful. Awesome thing that they don't charge for pets. We did not have the breakfast so we cannot comment on it. We will definitely stay at a Red Roof Inn again because this experience was so great.

Bed bugs! Bed bugs! Bed bugs! Myself and a friend stayed in room 104 on April 16th 2018 at the Red Roof Inn in Helena, GA. I’m allergic to bed bug bites (found out at a crappy hotel near Yosemite) and I develop huge itchy welts within hours of being bitten. Woke up around 3am and noticed my arms were itchy and had the welts, turned on my phones flashlight and saw a bed bug crawling away on the sheet. I grabbed it and put it in the key card envelope and immediately went to the front desk to tell them about it. The guy at the front desk did not act surprised at all and told me I would have to wait until a different employee came in at 7am. I slept in my car in their parking lot for the rest of the night until the next employee came in. I showed her the bed bug I had collected which was by then squished with my blood all over the paper. She said she would have to have the exterminator and GM come out and take a look first before anything could be done and did not care to apologize for our terrible night until we were halfway out the door. We did finally get a refund and rightly so. Will not ever be staying at this hotel or any other Red Roof Inn ever again.

Our room was updated, very clean, comfy beds and big screen tv. The walls, however, are THIN. So you will hear your neighbors. Which got annoying since ours were a loud family. The two different guys working the service desk didn't have a friendly, customer service oriented bone in their bodies. Right across the street is a restaurant called Bigg Daddies Tavern that has the best wings I've ever eaten. I highly recommend! It was only about a 7 minute walk to downtown which isn't bad, to stay in an area with no traffic or people congestion. Next time though, I think I'll spend a little more and have my family stay at the Holiday Inn Express.

The room itself was clean, however, the walls are so this you can hear EVERYTHING round you. If your neighbors aren’t ready to go to sleep when you are, good luck. Unfortunately, this place was the only pet friendly place to stay. I have a family of four, there were 3 towels in the room. The pillows, there were 4, but they were flat and uncomfortable. The only reason they got 2 stars is because the room was clean and I didn’t see any critters anywhere. Other than that, there would be no reason to ever stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for work. The room had a funky smell and the breakfast was okay. The staff was nice but I wouldn't stay here again if I had a choice.

It's great! At least everything but the Neighbors are very noisy. Besides that the staff are really nice and the quality of the rooms are very well kept sadly my phone was dead so I don't have pictures of the room before but I can say I loved it it even smelt nice!

2 stars just for the nice people at the desk. Not there fault the hotel is not built well for a hotel. Need sound barriers. You can hear the person next door conversation word for word. The person above you would have to be a ninja for you not to hear them walk around. And dogs, they don't belong In a hotel people, leave them at home they bark. And there was 3 of them that had a contest in the late hours while am trying to sleep. And some pulled a fire alarm around 10, yea real cute. And so. E other alarm on a door it looked like they where trying to get into was going off after 11. No good sleep in this place. Need to be rebuilt.

Besides the oh so thin walls… I enjoyed my stay here. Concierge service was accommodating & made sure I was completely satisfied with my visit. Rooms was very clean, fresh towels w/o requested for them & room was renovated nicely. I felt very welcomed here & will be visiting next yr.

Check in and check out was easy and convenient. The room was nice, very clean and a very comfortable bed. The whole town is so charming and this was a great location to enjoy Helen, Ga.

We went here for our 7 year anniversary. The motel was nice and clean. Sadly most of the attractions in Helen were not open. We walked around the town, ate, and shopped. After dinner we went back to our room and watched tv. Sadly the power went out right before 11pm and didn't come back on until 630 the following morning. The room got a little chilly. When we checked out they didn't offer any type of compensation for the power. We paid 203 for a motel room that only had power for about 9 hours out of our stay. I know it wasn't any fault of the motel but they could have offered something, even if I turned it down and said thanks anyways.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Very nice clean rooms. Enjoyed the stay.

Very friendly family-run staff. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. It's not a super high-end hotel but if you're looking for a place to stay well visiting an awesome town this one is a good choice.

Check in Thursday night found customer service behind the counter on his cell phone (never got up to greet us). I told him about my membership with Red Roof and nothing happen. Finally got the keys and try to ask some questions but he was in a rush going back his cell. The premises outside is dirty, halls full of cigarette butts. Even the male maintenance guy was smoking while working. Room service representative had no uniform, dress like just got off streets. Room was done only once in 3 nights. Very poor customer service. As a courtesy we still lest a tip. Breakfast room very small and female attendant behind the counter also on her cell and sitting down when customers come to ask her questions. Needs more TLC and more friendly people for future visits.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Overnight air in room was a little dry, but no issues aside from that. Great location as well close to town.

Great location viewing over Helen, good clean rooms. Only downfall is some of the other guests who were hanging around outside at the hotel.

As soon we checked in, we went to the room and left all our stuff in there. We went to eat and walk around the town as soon we arrive because the town close their stores and restaurants early. As soon we returned to the room we started to find animal hair on the a/c unit and on the floor. Then human hair on the small carpet and bathroom. We decided to clean it by ourselves. Later we founded a few towels with dirty black spots and broken towel. Looks like very old towels too that has been used by other guests to wash their pets. The front desk person saw it and decided to move us to the next room. Then we found dirty black spots and provably red lipstick spot on the pillows. The front desk person let us switch it with other room's pillows. Later at night, after we took everything out from our luggage, we started to find more issues, like another dirty towels, bath tub was clogged and take few minutes to drain, so we didn't take a shower. After that we decided to cancel and check out after 11:00 pm. The front desk person, Mr. Andrew told us he can not check out is at this time and neither cancel this first night. We asked him to make a note for us about this process. So we have a prove about what happened. We went to cross the street Holliday Inn Hotel. Next day we went back to Red Roof Hotel to talk with Sharon Posten and she said she couldn't cancel neither refund us the money for the first night, just because we requested the cancellation few hours later.

Bed bugs. Hotel denies it. My husband noticed it right away when we were in the lobby grabbing breakfast. He's like wow that really red. I was like nah the rooms look too clean to have bed bugs maybe it's a mosquito bite. When we got back to the room he noticed a bite on my arm also. I immediately checked him and my son but didn't see any bites. So again I told him maybe it's mosquitoes then. I guess we will know later if it doesn't go away. A few hours passed by and the bites got worst and starting oozing puss and got really red and hot. I called the hotel and I told him (Josh) I just want them to go check it out and address the issue because I got bit up really bad. He said he's not a medical doctor and how would he know if they are bed bugs. "We dont have bed bugs! I can't help you or do anything for you. I'm not going to give you a refund. " I never once asked him or the hotel for a refund just to simply give them a heads up and please go check it out. Josh was very unprofessional and rude about the situation. I would never let my employees treat or talk to customers/clients that way. He was very insensitive to the situation and quickly dismissed my concern. I am very disappointed because I read such good reviews about this place. The ladies in the front desk were nice, I feel bad that the experience was ruined.

While it wasn't the cleanest place I've stayed, the Red Roof inn in Helen was one of the friendliest places I've had the pleasure of staying. We were hurricane Irma evacuees and the staff could not have been nicer. They accepted our pets without issue.

This is a renovated motel near the downtown area of Helen. It sits up on a hill so the views are very nice. The staff is very friendly, we met the GM Michelle when we checked in and she was a doll. Our room was very clean and nice. We only had one issue, our jacuzzi tub did not work, but they offered us another room next door that had a working tub so we just moved over there. Bed was comfy, bathroom was clean and tub was very relaxing. It was very stormy overnight so we lost the Direct TV signal, but we just put our Pandora on and went to bed. We missed breakfast the next day but the very nice front desk manager gave us muffins, juice and coffee. We would definitely stay there again!

Hotel building was older, but room was updated and very modern. Rooms were clean and nice. Tubs were larger than normal hotel bathrooms. The staff were friendly and bed was comfortable. Breakfast muffins and apple fritters were great! Very close to town and pretty quiet. Outdoor pool was small, but clean and quiet. Would recommend and will stay again!

Last min stop on our 21 year wedding anniversary. Hotel room is spotless and the staff is extra courteous. The young lady at the front desk Wednesday gave us a map and outlined all the area we should hit up. And we did! When we came back to the room Friday Randal surprised us with rose petals on the bed and a trail leading to the bathroom! How awesome! We have stayed at hotels all over the US and over seas but this was a first. Place is very safe great areas to walk your dog grass is manicured to expectations. This place is highly recommended *****!

I had stayed at this hotel not too long ago, and went back and forth about writing this review. I hate putting bad reviews, but people need to know. The big manager that works at this place, is very rude and mean. When we asked for help with one of our rooms, she was very snide. After she "fixed" the problem we were waiting to check out when I over heard the staff talking about this manager. Why they couldn't understand why she was so mean, why she wasn't doing her job, and stealing from another employee! Will not go back unless management is changed.

During the weekdays they serve half the breakfast that they do on the weekends. Understaffed. You can hear your neighbors. But did some renovations and it looks clean and fresh.

We came up from Tampa, FL for a weekend retreat. We found out from the information Center that this was brand newly renovated, as in we are the first people in the room. Everything is very nice, we did have an issue with the first room because it seems there might have been a burst pipe under the tub so when I took a shower there was literally more water outside of the shower than in, and it went into the room too. No matter, they switched rooms no problem and we are happy. The place is on a hill and lighted up like Christmas so it looks great. We liked our stay a lot!
