Great atmosphere, friendly staff and clean rooms.

We have stayed here several times and love this hotel. The historical aspect is very interesting to us. The location is fantastic and the staff is absolutely wonderful. The rooms are quite large and we have enjoyed the restaurant and bar several times. We just had all of our out-of-town guests staying here for our daughter‘s wedding. Everyone loved it!

This “hotel” quite honestly ruined a birthday weekend. Place might look nice in photos and even the lobby. But looks are deceiving. Room was trash! Bed wasn’t made, only had 1 sheet on the bed. Had a peculiar almost moldy smell to the room. Water pressure was bad, and the fridge didn’t work whatsoever.

I travel a lot and I am particular about cleanliness. This place had great reviews and was a decent price but the room smelt like a very strong Fabreeze product. As I walked over to the window my sock got very wet. I was standing in an area where someone obviously had to clean something up on the carpet and was sprayed with something to mask the smell. It was already 11:30pm when I got to the room so I wasn’t about to go and ask to switch rooms. I was upset that they allowed someone to stay in the room in the first place when it wasn’t ready for anyone to stay in yet.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Very clean and safe, courteous staff, and ample covered parking. There are nice outdoor areas to walk around, and a plethora of nearby restaurants to choose from. Also this may seem small, but I think the ice machine is filtered. I hate adding tap water ice to bottled water and when the ice melts it all tastes like a swimming pool. The ice from the ice machines here is delightfully pleasant! Our room had a safe, mini fridge, and coffee station, but no microwave. There were also available electrical outlets in useful places and lots and lots of pillows, unlike some other hotels we have visited. It's only about a 15-20 minute drive to Busch Gardens or the Florida Aquarium. We would definitely stay here again!

I love this place. The rooms are great the pool is fantastic. The pool is huge and has everything for the little kids and adults. It's convenient to pretty much anything in Orlando. And when I needed help with shower equipment like a chair they had it. I would highly recommend the Westshore Grand.

This is an amazing hotel. The front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome here. Check-in took about one minute and the check-out process was equally painless. This place has a beautiful rooftop pool overlooking the bay and the ocean. The room was clean, well equipped, and very nice overall. We wound up here on a Hotwire reservation and we feel that we really lucked out for what we paid. Also, the Tampa Bay Area has *lots* to see and do. We actually found it more fun and interesting than the Orlando area and I was shocked to hear my kids say that they had more fun at De Soto Park than they did at Disney.

Gust services and check I was amazing. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room are beautiful and very clean and inviting. After one nights sleep (mattress was great) I am feeling refreshed and ready to start my vacation. Room have a coffee/tea bar set up, in room safe and a mini fridge. We are traveling with my two children and this hotel has not disappointed with them. In daughters words “this place is beautiful “ Make sure you check out the roof top pool to cool off and to see the amazing sunsets.

Let me start by saying that this hotel is extremelly nice and well located. The rooms are top notch. I got there with my family after spending the day at the water park and when I got to the room, the beds were a little smaller than I expected, since I had 3 kids. It was only for one night, but I called the front desk to see if they had a roll in bed or something alike, and without hesitation this young fellow moved us to nothing less than the ambassador suite. What a great gift that was. Excellent in every aspect! Thank you so much!

Great amenities, there is a full service bar with friendly staff Shula's Restaurant which is pricey but never the less has some good selection of dishes. There is a cigar humidor in the building with a good selection of cigars. The location is awesome with restaurants near by within walking distance a mall and other stores near by. Great place to stay for work or leisure. Near the airport with airport shuttle.

I booked a room with Hotel tonight. It's an app where you can book last minute rooms. We got in late. I walked in to the hotel and they said they didn't have a room. They immediately refunded my reservation and put me up in another hotel. Jowell was so nice and very accommodating. She deserves five stars herself. It was just really annoying to get there at 3 am and not have your room. It was very underwhelming. The hotel they sent me to wasn't as nice as the one we had originally booked. The worst part of it was I called the hotel earlier in the day to confirm the reservation and they said there shouldn't be any problems.

Stayed here for a wedding. Staff very nice and accommodating; they were able to let me check in early which really helped with our busy schedule. Rooms are very nice and have all the amenities you need. Beds very comfortable and just what you need after a night of dancing. Would certainly stay here again!

I gave it 3 stars because the rooms are very clean and nice. And while they hotel is nice, the pool doesn't live up to the pictures and the parking is far from the hotel entrance. Stay was enjoyable.

Just checked in here, my 10 month old was crawling on the floor found a pill and almost ate it! They need to clean better there is no reason to be finding a pill of no certainty what it is on the ground! Overall appeal is good but would not recommend this hotel especially for people with children! I brought the pill down and complained and the front desk lady took it, then said she was sending up a supervisor and a cleaning lady. Well we waited 40+ minutes and called and nothing! I had to find my own cleaning lady in the hall and harp on them a million times to get a supervisor! Finally got a new room and still not even sure if I wanna stay here or feel safe having my child here!

Called previously during week with no reply back from executive service before my trip about my service dog and assistance. Checked in and told Angela and she asked what I needed. I told her 2 bowls for my service dog and she smartly told me we are not pet friendly. This chain is my business preferred hotel. When I get back it won't. Customer service goes a long way. Plus other staff I have ran into have an ego. Stay away from this place. I would write more but don't want to waste my time on this place. Needs a zero star.

Wonderful stay! Great room and amenities! Prompt room service and friendly staff! Just be aware that unless you have a room on the front side of the hotel you won't be able to keep your curtains open because the hotel shares an atrium with an office building! Didn't bother me one bit though as I loved my room despite this strange situation. Lol. Would definitely stay there again!

Everything about this hotel was an amazing experience. The bed was comfortable and plush, room service was accommodating, the food was excellent, and there was even a nice terry robe hanging in the closet. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because the tub did not drain good during my shower and the toilet didn't want to flush properly. Also, the ice machine on the second floor was unplugged and not working. After being told about the tub and toilet the front desk did give me credit for my breakfast. All in all, the amennaties made me feel pampered and I enjoyed my stay.

We had dinner with friends at Shulas. This was my first time here. I was not impressed. Steak did not come out as ordered. Can get a much better meal for a lot less at a local steak place that does an excellent job at preparing the meat and has great flavor. Probably will not go back unless for a social event.

I was expecting this hotel to be rather luxurious and accommodating because it is in the SPG family of hotels, which I’m a member of, but I was wrong. I stayed here when it was 45 degrees in Tampa. I go into my room and turned the heat on and it never got warm. I called the front desk, they sent a technician, confirmed that the heat was broken and moved me into a different room, I get into that room and it’s colder than the last, call the technician again he comes and then tries to tell me that is working and “it’s not like the heat in my house” which literally made no sense because hotels are supposed to be better than houses. My car blows 10x hotter heat than that hotel. After that they offered me space heaters, they brought me one and it immediately burnt itself out, then they brought me another which worked, but what they should of done was upgraded me to a nicer room/suite that actually had heat. The halls of the floors didn’t have the heat on either and it was frigid. I am very disappointed.

The Westshore Grand is a nice hotel conveniently located by the airport, arena and many other amenities. The team at the Westhshore was very friendly and helpful. The Westshore also has an inviting lounge with great food and drink selection not to mention the famous Shula's Steak House. The reason for the 3 stars, although the beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean and nicely appointed the walls seem paper thin, with one being all windows opening to an internal atrium. It sounded like I was next to a laundry mat and when my neighbors checked in I could clearly hear their conversations. I would not hesitate to stay at the Westshore again, however I would try a different floor (3) and request a room at the end of the hall away from foot traffic, elevators and ice machines. :).

One of the best hotels. Really modern and we loved the Christmas decorations. We will sure come back to this. Great room service. Kids friendly, lot of activity inside and out.

A great refurbished hotel with good services.

Nice hotel, but they put multiple people from our group right next to the elevator. Then our "group discount" rate was $50 more than booking individually. The regular staff here were excellent but I'm not as pleased with the attitude of management. When I had expressed my concern for the amount of noise in my room there was absolutely no comment, not even acknowledgement of my concern or the insincere apology offered to my coworker. If this is typical of SPG properties, I may just head back to Hilton where I'm diamond status for 2 more years.

Atmosphere was great, room was nice. Bed stood tall. Like very tall… I was able to scale it with nothing short of a minor jogging start followed by a swift and graceful leap. Internet is not included (it wasn't for us at least), good thing we had an unlimited data plan to watch the game too (SEC Network is not available on the tube)

The Room and facilities were great, but the service was piss poor. Had to beg for towels multiple times. Out of 3 days never got my room cleaned at all. Staff had attitudes when asking for basic things. The water in my shower pooled at the bottom and didn't drain quickly, and that never got fixed. All you get for your money is a nice room & location after that your on your own.

Good location. About 10 minutes by free hotel shuttle from Tampa International Airport. Next to a mall with a variety of places for meals. It's a pity the rooms don't have much of a view of Tampa Bay. Good service. Non-working fridge and poor-draining bathtub was fixed promptly.

What a great place! Beautiful rooms. Love the building. The rooftop pool was nice, but too small for the number of people trying to enjoy it. The employee who checked us in could use an attitude adjustment, the guys out at the valet parking were very kind and fun to chat with.

We had a great experience at this hotel! We came for a wedding that was in the attached Centre Club. The hotel is beautifully furnished with large rooms and the bed was amazingly comfortable! There's a great bar in the lobby, great choice of food, plus short walk to anything you need including a Starbucks and Walgreens across the street, plus the Westshore Mall. It's 2 minutes to the airport, and a short drive to beaches and so much more. This will be our go-to Tampa hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. A wonderful hotel. Can't think of any negatives.

It was a beautiful hotel. The only problem we had staying there was the room was hot. The air was not working right. We were there for just one night. We were in the room for an hour before we had to head out for a concert. The temperature was set at 65° but it was not cold at all. We left for the concert thinking that when we get back it would be cool and it wasn't. We were to tired from the concert that we didn't want to change rooms at 12:30am. Just to be leaving at 7am. So we stuck it out. Other then that it was great.

I booked our stay for the Intercontinental back in February on Expedia as a surprise for my husband and was excited once the day came to check in! On 4/22/16 my husband and I checked into the Intercontinental for his 30th birthday weekend. The next day around 7am, we traveled to St. Pete's Beach to participate in a work event. Following the event, I noticed my bank alerted me of a $95.48 charge from the hotel had been deducted from my bank account. I decided to wait until we returned to see where these charges had come from. Once in the lobby, I spoke with Randall (who has checked us in the day before and was very polite) and asked what the charge was for and was informed that there was a note on my account saying that I spoke with Lorraine in regards to early departure and agreed to a $50 fee. I informed Randall that I had done no such thing and had no intentions of checking out early at all and in fact had left the hotel that morning around 7am. I asked to speak with the manager and Jason (the manager in charge that day 4/23/16) approached the computer stand almost as if he were annoyed to have to speak with me. When I explained the situation, he was quite rude. He continued to tell me that I agreed to this and my response was basically how dishonest it was that someone said they spoke to me because it had not happened and even if it had, the early departure fee was $50 so why was $95.48 taken from my account?

Was a good hotel located near the Westshore Mall. Nice restaurant downstairs. I will say that the pool is a bit small and the presidential suite was a bit disappointing, it's basically a living room with a king room connected. The conference table was an okay addition but we didn't really use it, and there were some stains on the carpet and couch. Other than that it was pretty nice. Beautiful building.

Jason has got to be the best Front Desk Agent EVER! My dad tried to check in there with a random Marriott form and Jason was extremely patient in talking to me on the phone about him checking in. If I ever actually visit Tampa… I'll definitely stay here.

Best hotel you'll find in this pricepoint in Tampa. Uppers: Excellent service, Shula's steakhouse on site, friendly staff, gorgeous 9th floor pool, fast valets, good shopping right across the street, fast easy access to beaches, neighborhoods Downers: no spa/hot tub anywhere. Silly, overly complex internet access requiring far more thought than we had to give after a long day at Busch gardens.

Horrible experience at a very over rated and expensive place with exuberant charges for the most menial things. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I was charged for things I didn't know people still charged for. Wi-Fi was almost $20.00 per use! My cell phone broke and a 10 minute call to a phone with a different area code cost me $33 each time (of course I didn't realize that till after I made a couple necessary calls while my phone was being fixed and received the $100 plus phone bill! ) Who charges for long distance calls anymore?!? I mean almost any phone company gives customers free calls to Mexico and Canada for petes sake! The hotel is way out dated for what they are charging and the poll looks like its something out of the 80s. Everything there is old school in design and character. Don't walk away without looking at a detailed list of what your being charged for because they will charge mini bar expenses on your bill not matter weather you used it or not. I had to dispute mine three times. The laundry cost you per item down to the sock and the room service was of course expensive but that is the only thing I can say is to be expected. Then once I checked out, the hotel was still charging my card multiple times until they called to tell me it wasn't working. I have a specific amount of money allowed to be charged to the card I used and I saw what they were charging it to max and into the negative amount after I checked out!

The beds are AMAZING! So comfortable. Also, you can get a great view of the surrounding downtown area. The staff was very friendly.

More like InterContaMotel. Room was clean and quiet. No towels at the little pool, no attendants, slow service. Check in was fair. Sales staff very nice. We usually have our meeting at the a Westin by the airport, this is a much better property on all fronts. InterContinental name and that's it, nothing special here.

If you like working Air Conditioning, quiet/clean rooms and quality customer service I suggest you run away from this hotel as fast as you possibly can. Let me start off by saying I'm really not picky when it comes to hotels. Give me a somewhere to park, nice cold AC and a bed to sleep on that isn't rock hard and I'm good to go. Upon arrival I parked in a garage for free and got in my room with a comfortable king size bed; good start but it was pretty much all downhill from there. My girlfriend and I left the room pretty much immediately to go out for dinner and drinks. Before we left I noticed the room was a bit warm so I cranked the AC down so it would be cold when we got back… something I do pretty much every time I get into a hotel room. When we got back I passed out almost immediately from the combination of a long day/drive and a few drinks. The real nightmare began at 5:30am when I woke up sweating. Even though the thermostat was set to 70 the room temperature was 80 degrees! I would have asked for a new room immediately but my girlfriend was still sleeping so I tried to lay on top of the bedding and relax. As I'm laying there I hear a noise that was reminiscent of an air conditioning unit turning on, running for a bit, turning off and repeat. Only thing was the noise wasn't happening consistently, sometimes it was every 5 seconds others it would go away for 30 and come back. It was driving me CRAZY!

This hotel does not provide heat in its rooms unless you request it ahead of time. I know it's Florida, but I was there in the middle of Winter and it got down to 50 at night. I turned up the thermostat, went to sleep, and woke up the next morning very cold. I went down and asked the front desk how to turn on the heat. They said there is no heat unless you ask in advance. Then they will call in an engineer to go work on the room. Then you can have heat. I asked if they could provide anything in exchange for the lack of heat in my room. They offered me a free cup of coffee.

I reserved a room at the InterContinental Tampa through Priceline on 20141212. The deal caught my eye because it was rated as a four star hotel for $70.00. I was excited, and immediately booked it. I was severely disappointed by my experience. First of all there is no complimentary cookie. This might sound peculiar, but its the small things like giving your guest a warm baking good to welcome them that makes the visit special. Remember, this is a four star hotel. Our room wasn't any nicer than a three star hotel around Tampa. The marble desk in our room had dry ring stains all over it, and our shower tub clogged up the mid ankles. I'm relieved I did not pay full price because this was not an experience that I will want to remember.

This hotel has a few positives including friendly staff, a good location close to the airport (with free shuttle service) and various shopping malls. Also, the beds are firm but comfortable. The hotel also has a long list of negatives, many of which relate to inadequate maintenance. These include: (1) Torn leather furniture (2) Grime on the walls (3) Rusty water coming from the bathroom shower and inadequate ventilation. (4) A room safe that wouldn't open after I’d stored my valuables inside was a particular annoyance (the hotel "security expert" had to replace the batteries in the electronic keypad to get it to work). (5) Non-fitted sheets on the bed which easily come loose while I slept (this is standard throughout the hotel). (6) Lots of traffic noise The bottom line is that there are much nicer places to stay in the area for a similar price.

First off I called them to make sure I get the lower floors so I wouldn't have to wait for the elevators as long. Lo and behold I get there and I get the 10th floor (there are 11 floors). They did sorta put me away from the elevators (which I heard can be noisy). 2nd of all there are no fridges in the hotel room for you to use. I didn't read the label on the stocked fridge which held all their alcohol, other beverages and snacks before I started moving things around to put my stuff in. Luckily the front desk was flexible and didn't charge me. The label does clearly state that it has an electric sensor and you should only move things around or take out stuff if you consume them and you will be automatically charged. But no empty fridge :/ 3rd of all their shuttle driver takes every 30 min (seemed to be more than that) to arrive at the airport or to pick us up from the hotel. One of them had trouble getting out of the airport pick-up area. Alas I left my new wireless mouse ($25 value) at the hotel, which they fortunately found. Unfortunately they don't USPS to ship your lost and found items. They only do Fedex and UPS and overnight or 2 day. The housekeeping services also don't know the prices off-hand. Turns it was a whopping $19 to ship back a $25 mouse. Not sure why they can't do those small box flat rates at USPS or just regular ground shipping with UPS or Fedex. Unfortunately I will have to stay there next year and every 8-10 years for my board exams.

As expected from a 4-star hotel, our 4 night stay was fantastic. The rooms were very nice, well decorated, had great views and the staff was very friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel is convenient to many things in the area. The airport, the mall, several good restaturants. The bar and lounge area in the lobby are also very convenient. The defininig moment of our stay: Shula's breakfast buffet is normally served in the restaurant, but Sunday they allowed us to eat from the buffet while sitting in the lounge at our own private TV to watch the Formula 1 race in Monaco at 8am while eating breakfast. Convenience and comfort are what my hotel stays are all about and the Intercontinental Tampa was perfect. The food at Shula's Steak House was also superb. The Lobster Bisque (spectacular) and the Cuban Sandwhich were our two favorites. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Nice rooms but poor service. I stayed for 2 weeks and there was no option to empty my mini-fridge bar to use as a regular fridge, but was offered a $45 charge to rent a fridge. The shuttle drivers were nice and friendly, but valet seemed lazy and unattentive. Drinks and food were over priced. The noise from the street kept me up at night, was loud due to location. Nice looking hotel but an illusion to be a luxury hotel. Stay at the Crown for better customer service and 'real' people.
