Location is great! Restaurants and Wal Mart right there!

They just got all new beauty rest mattresses. Ones you just sink into for immediate sleep they are so good!

Awesome place to stay and everyone is super friendly!

Great bed! I woke up during the night and for a second. I thought I was at home.

Staff was very pleasant and welcoming, and the bed was super comfortable. They assembled the wardrobe incorrectly. The top panel was installed upside down, which caused the in-cabinet rope lighting to illuminate the room instead of the wardrobe interior. Hotel was under construction. Unpleasant smell in lobby, fitness center closed. No commissary. Breakfast served in a torn out shell of a room with torn drywall.

This is a great and consistently cleaned maintained place to stay would not change a thing. How ever there is one person that goes far above what is asked of her she makes time to put out breakfast for our crew at 1:30am and she dose not have to, she dose it because with out a doubt she has a spirit of excellence and of service, our crew of 13 wants to say thank you to "phylis" for what you do.

Clean rooms. And friendly staff.

Nice hotel for the price in a great setting. My daughter loved the pool and the lake on the rear.

I recently stayed at the holiday in express in Port Charlotte Florida for a short stay I usually don’t write reviews but I simply could not let this great service go I untold the people there were so friendly so cooperative so helpful from the person serving breakfast to the workers who were cleaning the rooms they were accommodating with us numerous towels we need because we had children with us it was clean and even though they are going through renovations they never missed a beat with providing great customer service The front desk concierges work polite and courteous and very very helpful so my hats off to the management staff for training such a great team of employees who really seem to enjoy their jobs and understand what customer service really is all about I appreciate you and I will definitely come back and stay again.

A nice place. The renovations are nice and needed. Beds were amazingly comfy. Water pressure was low. Everything was clean. A basic hotel but we would certainly stay again.

Newly renovated hotel and in a great location. Still undergoing minor work but a great place for a very clean room. Best hotel in 2018 so far!

The hotel is very untidy due to the renovations. Lobby area appearance not inviting at all. We found our room lacking of quality materials. The tile setter made a terrible mess with grout hardened and dried all over the tiles which makes the flooring appear dirty. The new toilet was already needing repair, once flushed would run constantly. Again more grout dried onto the porcelain of toilet. Poor quality furnishings, dingy appearing carpet, the wall mounted air conditioner is next to the bed and is noisy, newer hotel offers central air. Bed was comfortable, but strangely the frame and box spring put this bed about 3 feet off the floor? I needed the ottoman to get in/out. The pool is in terrible repair, broken and missing tiles.

Currently under renovations rooms are nice not the best use of the space but still nice. Love the shades instead of drapes-much better for lighting.

I had a great time. Your Staff was very accommodating. My room was perfect. Your remodeling project is outstanding.

No housekeeping service at all. Left in the morning and came back at 9pm room wasn’t touched. No clean towels bed wasn’t made up. Why remodel when you don’t have housekeeping service the rooms.

It’s real sad coming back from a great day of sight seeing to find out your room was not cleaned at 9pm.

Everything was great, but every chiropractor in the world will tell you to get a firm mattress. Why do hotels seem to be getting softer? Two things make a good stay, good shower and good bed. The hotel that gives you your choice between firm and soft beds, will win the hotel war and come out on top.

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly and nice. The hotel was undergoing renovations, however it was hard to tell how far they were, based on the way everything looked. They have new beds, which were fairly comfortable. Hotel is right off highway and in walking distance of an Applebee's.

Room was newly renovated with nice, up-to-date accommodations. The new beds were super comfortable and fluffy! The only reasons I'm giving 4 stars is because (1) the room did smell a little like bleach which gave me a headache the first day, but I'm certain it's to keep the mold down in such a damp environment, and (2) when we weren't ready to have our room cleaned at 0930, it should have been done when we left at 1030 since the maids were still on our floor and there was not a privacy notice left on the door to indicate otherwise. Other than that, breakfast, service, and amenities were both reasonable and acceptable for the price/area.

Great place to stay right off of I75. The breakfast is a standard holiday in breakfast. Biscuits and gravey are good when the biscuits are soft. The staff is friendly. Room service did not service our room one day even though they were still in the hall when we left the room. Besides that overall a good pitstop. No upgrades for Spire members were offered.

Was a decent hotel. They are in the process of renovating, so it's getting better. Bed was comfortable. The room just felt very basic though, not very warm and welcoming. The walls are paper thin too, so expect to get woken up if anyone nearby is talking.

Staff nice but older building that is very noisy. There are some renovations going on but that won't help the thin walls and floors. Slow Wi-Fi. Rooms clean and house keeping is on the ball.

Hotel is nice but certain people that work at front desk were rude and snobby.

Currently upgrading so things are not up to par but the beds are so comfortable and the rooms are clean. The improvements and upgrades will make it a great place to stay.

Staff was unprofessional and rude. Told I couldn't have dog after after hurricane Irma. Wife is a first responder and was up for 3 days to come home to no power get there and listen to a dog barking in next room over to be told they couldn't do anything about it. Vending machine not working. Horrible experience. I would recommend any other place other than here.

Best continental breakfast ever! Didn't stay at hotel though.

Needs some further updates. But a good value and great customer service.

Very disappointing. The room was in very poor condition (multiple cracked shower tiles, Moldy shower joints, desperately needed a new paint, could hear everything in the hallway due to a very poor entry door closure). The entire hotel shows its age. Would not recommend.

Undergoing remodeling of guest rooms during my stay. Outdoor pool is small but very nice. Location is great, easy access to the interstate and restaurants.

Currently undergoing renovations as of March 2017, so things are a bit rough. Not bad, but better options are nearby.

Front desk lady was nice. But the overall noise and comfort was terrible. Construction workers were loud all night. The hotel itself is noisy. Not expecting dead quiet but considering how much they charge per night, a reasonable level of comfort would be expected. The cleaners they use leave a terrible odor in the room. Smells like a cheap hotel.

Staff were friendly. Hotel is old and it shows. Rooms were clean and adequate, nothing fancy. Breakfast was the same excellent HIE breakfast you get elsewhere.

Not a bad stay or price for the night. Everything was reasonably clean. Staff was pleasant. Some items are showing wear, door in bathroom showing wear. Good location there's a Publix right across the interstate. We could NOT hear the interstate traffic which is a common problem with a location like this, but our room did face east.

We stayed 4 nights. Staff is wonderful, knowledgeable & friendly. The rooms are clean & nice. Pool is clean with lake view. Overall, a very wonderful visit & would stay again!

I have stayed at a few Holiday Inn Express all of them have a terrible complimentary breakfast now I'm reading on the reviews for this Holiday Inn that the breakfast is not that good would be a reason why I will not stay there.

Stayed one night, nice, clean, pool, staff very friendly & helpful. Extended checkout till noon for us. Would surly stay again! Ps Wi-Fi still not working.
