If you are a looking for a good price near the ocean, this is it. The hotel itself is older, but they have done a good job of updating here and there. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds which had plenty of room. Nice view from the private balcony. The included breakfast had fruit, muffins, cereal, coffee, orange juice, etc. Staff members were all nice and helpful when needed. The only reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is because of the pool size. Don’t know the dimensions, but it was definitely smaller than we were expecting. Also, it was only a 5-10 minute drive to historic downtown which was nice.

We stayed in a pet friendly room on the 1st floor. It was great. Staff was great too. Clean rooms with a beach motel vibe. We will definitely stay again. Can't beat the beach proximity for the price.

We stay here for the Memorial Day weekend. We brought our dog along since it was a pet friendly hotel. The hotel is a little old but it’s keep up. The room we were in we all tile floor so if our dog did have a accident it would be an easy cleanup.

Family owned and very well taken care of. Clean, comfortable. Fantastic view and good breakfast included. Wonderful area with the pavilion, restaurants, Publix and surf shop beachwear within walking distance.

Bedding had bad smell the rooms have bad smell the very small breakfast room there are only 3 chairs the bad boiled egg if these 3 nights or 2 Do not change sheets have to improve the service the price very expensive for the type of hotel and the pool is out of Servic What.

Stayed first week of April 2018 with my family. Absolutely loved the location and all the staff was friendly, helpful, and informative about all the good tourist spots. We will definitely be returning. Views were beautiful and room was nice and comfortable.

The room and bathroom are very small and outdated (there is a hairdryer located behind the microwave) but fairly clean with a nice view. I gave 2 stars mostly for the female curmudgeon at the front desk. Every encounter was an inconvenience and we felt very unwelcome. Would not stay here again because of it. Customer service is key, especially when you're running a bare bones operation such as this. There's a very nice Hampton Inn right next door — pay a little extra and stay there.

Beautiful lodge facing the ocean. Clean beaches, lots of sea shell. Not really a sandy beach. Nice cover area with bathrooms and shower for the public, food markets and restaurants with in walk distance. Perfect place in st. Augustine, fl.

Loved the location. It is an older hotel but very clean and comfortable. Hope to come back in the summer.

I love the location and I love the rooms and I love the view and the family is very nice and the breakfast is not bad either the only reason why I am not giving us a five stars is because they put no effort towards their swimming pool… Why not have some music playing outside and have that thing heated and working all winter long… Do some decorations outside I guess they do not know that people love hanging out by the pool in Florida relaxing and swimming and being outside that is one of the most awesomest things to do and this hotel put zero effort towards their swimming pool… It's a shame because I like everything else about this place and the people are nice.

The hotel staffer named Zoe was rude and unprofessional. Even though this place offers breakfast (which most do in St. Augustine) she will stand over you counting how many cheap creamers you put your water downed coffee. She made me feel so uncomfortable. You may request a non-smoking room but there will be an ashtray outside on the balcony facing the parking lot and the room will smell of cigarettes. Do yourselves a favor pay the few extra dollars and stay at the Hilton or somewhere where the hotel staff can be held accountable for there terrible service.

B-E-A-UTIFUL views of the ocean and adorably decorated rooms. (Some have hot tubs) Very accommodating when we decided to add an extra day to our visit. We enjoyed our stay so much, we didn't want to leave.

It over looks the beach & is very private. The rates are low & the room's are clean. The rooms have a small refrigerator & coffee pot. The Staff is super nice & professional. There is a nice self serving breakfast. They also have two rooms available for small pet's.

GREAT location! Right on the beach in a quieter part of the large St Augustine area. Really super convenient too. Staff is nice. Breakfast was really nice too. Room was clean. They do a good job of keeping the moisture out of the room (which is an issue because — it's seriously right on the beach).

This place is OK, great location you can walk to the beach from your room in 2 minutes but the rooms are quite dated.

This is an excellent place to stay. My family and I stayed here for a weekend to get away from the city and got excellent room service. You also get s GREAT view of the beach.

Oceanview is practically right on the beach. All rooms have a balcony facing the beach. The beds were comfortable and our room came with a small kitchenette. It was also clean and well maintained.

Quaint comfy place. Quiet and well kept. Amazing view from our 2nd floor room. We had a Jacuzzi In our room that was to die for… the room is so clean and the beds are comfy… loved the mini bar fridge in the dresser. It has a larger fridge with great storage for beer and or drinks … simply love it. It will be ourgoto from now on! Just over the bridge is the historic district it's right next to Publix it's super convenient … simply breathtaking… beach is clean. And not crowded. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If they added some simple updates place would easily receive 5 stars. Continental breakfast options are a little disappointing, very basic for the price of the room. Pool hours are dumb and short lived. Overall amazing and affordable find!

Memories of this being the Ocean Blue and to come back after all these years and the only thing that changed was owners and the name. Still an amazing place to stay.

We love the OceanView Lodge! The bed is super comfortable, and they are extremely accommodating to guests. We got the top floor corner balcony and we were extremely pleased with the amount of privacy we had. The jacuzzi tub was very clean, as was the rest of the room. You can catch a gorgeous sunrise right from your balcony, which has 2 chairs and a table. The TV channels were of a great variety. We did not wake up in time for breakfast, but there is breakfast from 7-10.

Rooms were nice and clean. Good cable selection. EAsy parking. Beautiful views of the beach and sunrise if you're facing the right direction.

Nice simple hotel with good beach view and access. Nice and reasonably clean and maintained. Located in the middle of a good beach community with a mix of locals and tourists. (Vilano Beach). Not far from St. Augustine.

Really? Must be the owners giving 5 stars. I'm surprised the place is even open. Does Saint Augustine have any health codes? This is a garbage dump. One look at the room and we all left running. The rude witch at the front desk is the first clue. If you like filthy motel 6 trash, then you will love this hole…

Great place to stay while sight seeing St. Augustine. The owners and staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are just what you need on a vacation, nothing fancy but clean and roomy with a private balcony that overlooks the beach. The beach is just right across the street/parking lot and there is a grocery store and restaurants also within walking distance. A lot of the guests were repeat customers and I can see why. Will definitely stay here again when coming to St. Augustine.

The location is perfect for beach going. The room was comfortable for the most part. It always felt damp, but I guess being that close to the beach will do that. The pillows need updating. The pool is small but functional. The lady at the front was very nice. It's also very close to downtown St. Augustine. And there is a Publix and pizza place just down the street. Every room has a balcony and a fridge and microwave. They also offer a decent breakfast considering its continental.

I really never write reviews — but feel I must warn fellow travelers to avoid this horrible hotel. I absolutely am shocked and mystified to see others giving positive reviews on this place! It's such a run down dump — and the inexplicably angry woman who barely spoke English at the check in desk was rude and abusive to my family. The room was filthy, the sheets obviously hadn't been changed — or even washed. It smelled moldy, smokey and nasty. We couldn't even sleep there, so we just left. We didn't dare go back to complain to that psychotic woman at the desk, we were honestly afraid. Beware. This place is nothing like the picture, and I suspect that all of the positive reviews you see have been written by the owners themselves.

Every room has an ocean view! Very affordable and close to all the attractions. Quiet too. We would definately be return customers.

Bout to give a very detailed review on this place which is rare because I never do these things but this place deserves it! This is probably the WORST hotel/motel experience I have ever had, besides the location being really close to the beach, allowing dogs, and the maids are super nice, it was not a good motel. First right off the bat, my boyfriend checked in, and the front desk lady was rude and talking on the phone and we were trying to check in, and you can barely understand anything she says, the only reason we stayed there is because it was the only one that was decent priced and allows dogs on St. Augustine, then she gives us a paper after driving six hours saying, that dogs weren't allowed to be on the beds or furniture or left alone for any certain amount of time, we have a 3 pound chiuahaha of course it's going to sleep with us!

I loved staying here the view of the ocean was great and it was very beautiful as well as close to a lot of site seeing attractions and many places to eat. I loved the breakfast and the rooms where comfortable and the staff was amazing!

The hotel had a great view and very good price for the night. It was right where you could drop in with your surf board.

I am currently relaxing in room 201 and going to give an in-depth review of Oceanview. I'm from Cincinnati and staying here from 10/22-10/27. My party consists of myself, my husband, my 71-year-old mom and 4-year-old daughter. We are in an adjoining room. Let's get the cons out of the way, since this is what people are really worried about. No frills. Zero frills. Breakfast is packaged snacks and coffee. No laundry on site. Office closes at 10 p. M. Adjoining rooms has only one shower between the two bathrooms. Tiny pool, no deeper than 4 feet. Trying to think of more cons. No party places, clubs or karaoke bars nearby. It's just not fancy. If you're used to fancy, even if you think you're not, you will be disappointed. This is old Florida at its best and for anyone who is not used to this, you will NOT be happy here. The hippest place to go is probably Beaches, which is a nearby on-the-water restaurant or Publix, which is a supermarket in the same scale as Krogers (sorry if you don't get the reference). Okay, the pros. CLEAN! Very clean. COMFORTABLE BEDS! Management was smart and invested much of their budget into really great beds. GREAT WI-FI! I am a snob about this and was thrilled with the strength and secure connection here. Two mini fridges in the adjoining rooms. Two bathrooms with toilets (RARE! Even in more expensive places). Safe and easy beach access. Family/elderly friendly area.

We had an wonderful stay at Ocean View. The rooms on the third floor had a spectacular view of ocean (and sunrises). The staff were very friendly. We'll go back.

Awful place to stay! By far the worst of our trip. Sounded great at first but was a big mistake to stay here. Rooms are shabby and smell like smoke. Owners are impossible to understand and rude. Check out was at 11 am, but we were on the beach in the morning and they came in and cleaned our room at 9 am. They said we had checked out already, and they had our belongings on thier cart or in the garbage. Crooked and dishonest. Stay away!

I loved the location of the Oceanview Lodge! Right next to a grocery store and a few restaurants. Perfect for a nice, quiet weekend away. It's also a 5 minute drive to the historic downtown area for the sightseers. I loved the ocean view and the balcony off of our room. We also had a large jacuzzi tub that was amazing and it was super clean. The only downside was the decor was a little outdated. I will definitely be back!
