I'd like to put 1.5 stars if possible, but I guess Google Maps doesn't do that. We had picked Kimpton because we had our wedding night at the Kimpton in DC and thought it would be appropriate to come here for a 10th anniversary getaway. Initially we were slated to come in at Thursday noon but had to move to a later flight at 6 landing at around midnight because of a sick child. As our delayed flight kept getting pushed back, we kept checking in with the front desk at the Surfcomber to make sure that our room wasn't given away. They assured us that they were holding it and it would be okay. We called a few times just in case. Our flight landed at 3 and we made it to the hotel around 340 AM. When we came up to the front desk we had asked if we could check into a room. The woman at the front desk said that the system was turning over and will have to wait another 30 minutes or so before we could check in. She said she tried to wait for us, but it was no use. She made a face like it was our fault. I didn't mean to have our flight pushed back so much, that's why we checked in so often by phone. She even told us that people had told her that we were coming. At this point we were too tired to argue. When we finally got up to the room at around 4: 20 we saw the bottle of wine sitting in the melted ice and 3 melted strawberries. At this point we were wondering if they had the foresight to get our room ready with this spread, why would not have been possible to set aside two room keys just so we can get in and sleep already? The next day we made the best of it and got out of the room after getting a few hours of sleep. The people running the bikes were very nice and helpful. We got back around 1 and checked to see if our room had been cleaned but it hadn't been. We got some clothes and went to the pool. When we got back at around 3: 10, the room still wasn't cleaned. I ended up talking to one of the staff members in the hallway asking if they can finally take a look. At that point she talked to one of the cleaning staff and said we could come back in a little bit. When we checked in later the bed had been made and the old towels have been taken away. Unfortunately there were no new towels, bars of soap or shampoo. We had to ask them for some new towels, and they got us the full-size ones. When we asked about face towels they said they ran out. Some of the staff were really nice (Dionne at front desk, and our surfer friend manning the bikes), but we talked to a few people that were slightly hostile and dismissive. This definitely put a damper on our first Miami trip, especially for our anniversary.
