Great location, pleasant staff, very clean and tidy hotel with a lovely breakfast to set you up for the day.

HORRIBLE! Firstly, person that checked us in was not friendly whatsoever. Shortly upon being in our room, we began to smell something like a sewerage/plumbing smell that only got louder as days went on. The smell was even stronger upon stepping into shower. There were never any towels. Our room even received "housekeeping" which was a complete joke, and only consisted of the bed halfway being made. Our first night there, the was loud beeping noises out in the hallway
There was a potato chip bag under the bed, that reminded there throughout our stay. Bed felt like a pile of BRICKS! Totally uncomfortable. Sink drained slowly. They had to go to other hotels to get towels! Smh. Staff here thinks the guests are dumb and try to play mind games. Was not offered any compensation or room change even when brought to the general manager's ALICIA'S attention. Only received a "Vip" cleaning which wasn't much, with the potato chip bag still under bed, sink still draining evtremely slowly, smell in the shower. But oh, I received a bottle of wine. Thanks but no thanks! Do yourself a favor and do not stay here! My birthday day trip was ruined bc of this!

In very good spot, minutes away from South beach and has all kind of foods available around it, Turkish, Mexican, Italian and Indian. It's an old and authentic looking hotel. Towel and chairs for this hotel are provided by Savoy company in 4th Street Beach, included on the hotel bill. Rooms are comfy but not very big. Pricing is also good. The complementary breakfast is very simple, don't expect much. Stuffs are good and always there to assist. One thing, room service is at 5pm, a bit odd. Overall, pretty good hotel.

Hall with dirty glass, sofas with linings that were once white dilapidated breakfast counter.
Rooms for 4 people with 2 beds from a square and half hard where we think Christopher Columbus slept. The squeaks in the night were unbearable.
Air conditioning that does not adjust and that comes directly on those who sleep.
Positive notes: the magnificent location and the decidedly low price.

Unfortunately not recommended. Were very unfriendly with the indication our room is finished at 3pm. Have then paid a parking fee for 20 dollars/day and are back to the hotel at 15h. The keys were handed to us and when we got into the room it was still the same as the predecessor left it. The reception apologized and promised the room would be ready in 20min and we would be reimbursed as compensation for the hotel fee (until today, 10 days after departure, not happened). The room was then finished 1.5h later, whereby the cleanliness was not capitalized. There was hardly any choice at breakfast. As a spread you could choose between bButter and honey. Price performance doesn't fit!

I had lowered my expectations before we even showed up at the hotel because of the prior reviews I had read. So keeping that in mind it really wasn't horrible. The hotel is older and there has been some renovations but even the renovations are now dated. Me and my wife came for the beach so we weren't in the hotel much. Basically only to sleep and rest-up. We didn't have much interaction with the staff but the little we had was pleasant. It's in a very good location, close to shops restaurants and most importantly the beach. Now for the bad: Night 1, my wife was awakened by someone arguing outside our window. She said it sounded like a guest fussing at a staff member asking how a stranger unexpectedly entered her room with an access key. They abruptly changed all the key codes the next day. Night 2, I was awakened by an argument in the hall down from my room, followed by what sounded like a woman crying. The arguing and crying went on for about 30 minutes. This was followed by my neighbors in the room next door having a 30-minute sex romp right behind the headboard in my room. Thats an hour of my life I would love to have back. The good, the best thing in the room was the steam shower which worked wonderfully. The hotel is a little on the cheap side. This rule of thumb applies here… you get what you pay for.

First off, location is awesome. But staff is terrible. Terrible. They are rude. We had a deluxe room and had no forks and only like 2 cups and 2 plates. We had dirty towels. First morning we were there, the house keeper knocked once and then opened our door without us answering. Which we let all these odds and ends go because we were barely at the room. But what really ruined me every going here again is the staff and they’re lack of customer service. The day I left to go home we left at 4am. So I was super sleepy super delirious. So stupidly I forgot a item in my room and didn’t remember till I was already at the airport. I called the hotel but being 5am no answer and when we left there was no one There so I already kind of figured and decided to call as soon as I landed. Once I called the rude front desk lady answered and I explain my situation and tell her the room number and tell her how our check out time wasn’t till 11am which I called 2 hours before. Then the front desk lady then proceeded to tell me that “the front desk is open 24 hours so it’s impossible I called” I then proceeded to tell her no one was there when I left and when I called the phone went to voicemail. She then proceeded to tell me they would hold it in front and have a good day. And hung up. Didn’t ask me my number or name. I even told her that shipping wouldn’t be necessary I still had family in the area.

Awesome hotel at a great price! You get the same convenience of all the other higher end hotels with all the amenities at a lower cost, and amazing service by the gracious staff! They are very knowledgeable about the area and things to do and do their best to make sure you have a pleasant stay!

Welcoming atmosphere absolutely attention-grabbing. Loved the spa where one can renew and replenish their spirit. From weddings to meetings, dining to amenities — absolutely a stunning place. Lush interior spaces designed to delight the patrons.

This hotel is so worn, it is impossible to know if it is dirty or just worn. Almost $150 US for what we got. Youch!. Moreover they tried to charge an extra on my mother's room. The only positive point is the location. Stay away.

Really handy to everything. Our room wasn't serviced whilst we were there. Everything looked a bit shabby and hallways not vacuumed. Staff not very friendly.

Me giving this place 3 stars is very generous. My last day I had no running water in my room. When I asked how long it went from hr. To eventually the whole day. Now I realize things happen. However, for the rate I ended up paying (129/n) I should've had more amenities. You would be better served getting a hotel on Ocean dr. Than going to this place that's a couple blocks away.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was extremely noisy so you could not sleep properly. From the shower came, after having to experiment with 4 taps, droplets of water. The breakfast consisted of 2 baskets of Bagel + croissants + butter + jam. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. There were only benches without tables. I would book a maximum of one night, otherwise book another hotel and pay € 30-50 more. It's worth it!

Such potential but just not well managed. TV remote not working, no drinking water in rooms, steam shower not working, room not cleaned for our two day stay, no working safe… too bad it could be so much better. Very disappointed in the management as they promised to compensate for our endless hassles and have done nothing. Staff were nice but caught in a system that they cannot do much. Terrible setup for breakfast at the tiny front bar with no real seating. … total chaos.

I like it because it is a very central place this close to the beach is quiet and has very good hospitality.

Rip off. Price is $20 more (per person, per day? ) than advertised since there is a mandatory “resort fee” that should be charged on line as room rental. Stay elsewhere.

Cheap hotel But too noisy, be careful if sleep light.

We were for the third and fourth (2 nights) times in this hotel. This time 14 days over Christmas and New Year's Eve. Apparently the tenants or the staff have changed. The "intercontinental breakfast" has become a terrible nightmare. And that over Christmas and New Year's Eve. The pre-cooked and already peeled eggs come from a huge white plastic bucket. They are very small which speaks for mass caging of the animals. Above all, the eggs taste and smell very awful. There is no real butter, no margarine, no sausage and no cheese. Alone cheapest and always same packaged strange jam. No honey. The white bread is crushed and the "croissants" or bagels that are out there are so outdated and mis stored (in the computer room / store room) that they are dust-dry and it hurts to eat. There are no tables to have breakfast. Only too few sofa benches. Everything is eaten from paper plates or styrofoam plates with plastic knives and plastic cups. Every day again. A total environmental disaster. The trash can next to the coffeemaker, which incidentally does not work all the time, is full of discarded food because guests just do not want it. Also, there was neither sacred evening nor New Year's Eve something variety at breakfast, not even fresh bread. The milk jug and juice jug is never washed out, but always exactly as at the end of the breakfast is placed in the freezer where the milk is then frozen and put out the next day. By contrast, every snack in an airplane is better.

Good location very close to all the action (to the beach and to bars and night club minutes walk only). They charge 20 $ for amenities internet beach towels and relaxes at the beach. Room ok. Internet ok. Parking is 20 $

A small and elegant boutique hotel in the South of Fifth neighborhood. A nice change from the big chain hotels, this is cozy and charming while taking care of the essentials to make a home away from home during a beach holiday. Just a couple blocks South of Fifth Street, the beach, restaurants, and shopping are all within 5 minutes walking distance. If you are driving a city parking garage is just 3 blocks away.

The hotel was not handicap friendly, it was very clean. We had too change our sheets. The night shift person was horrible but the day shift person was helpful and friendly. It could be a great place with a little more staff and a little more attention to details.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, breakfast simple but adequate. Always gave bagels with meat cheese, butter, jam, coffee, orange juice…
Climate has worked reliably. You are very fast on the beach, in the surroundings you can eat well and buy food.

Nice rooms but no fridge. Parking was $20. The incredible customer service made up for any shortcomings.

I loved that this is an economically priced hotel. The room had a nice shower, spacious, was clean, safe, and all the usual accommodations. Parking was available in their lot, easy access at $20 per night. The lot was a bit tight for suvs but smaller cars are perfect. There was a Starbucks machine in the lobby and the staff was friendly. It was also situated away from all of the noise and congestion of south beach a few streets over. I definitely will be back when I visit Miami.

Great combination of price-comfort-location-service: it's close to the South Beach, breakfast is included, stuff is polite and helpful.

The hotel is clean and the location is decent,
What they do not mention is there is no elevator, No drawers to store your clothing except for the one hanging rack.
In the bathroom there are no hooks for your towels so you just have to drape them over the sink or on the floor. 3 times I tried to get their Famous Steam shower fixed and three times I was promised it would be, No this was with a two night stay. Of course it never worked, the light would just blink and the swit…ch actually looked broken. I will say the front desk help was pleasant and again the location was not bad, but really I have stayed in cheap motels that had better accommodations for keeping your clothes and getting things repaired. I had found this on Hotwire as a 3 star hotel, Definitely NOT…

Stayed here, the staff was polite, kind, helpful and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean and breakfast was excellent. Needless to say the location. Will definitely recommend it and go back. Thank you James, Fad and José.

Incredibly horrible experience! Liars that sell you on one thing but when you arrive EVERYTHING changes! The rooms don't look bad but they will not be what you reserved!

Me and my husband just stayed here for our 6mth anniversary (7/18 — 7/19/15). From the outside of the hotel it doesn't look like fabulosity, so we were a little nervous. BUT to our surprise when we walked inside it was so adorable. Very chic boutique! A small cute area for breakfast (continental) that they serve every morning between 8-10am. We did partake of it. Not many choices but I loved the raisin bran and orange juice. Our king room was AMAZING! We stayed in towards the back of the hotel on the 1st floor. Huge king sized bed with the high bedframe, seperate toilet area w/door & phone inside, but our favorite area was the walk in glass shower that could fit like 3 full sized adults w/sitting area and steam jets also. It was wonderful. They do have a mini bar with snacks, drinks, lotions, body stuff but we didn't partake of it. Hotel staff was super friendly, helpful, and cheerful entire stay. Even spoke with a housekeeper and she was great. We were about a 3-4 minute walk to the beach. Very close to restaurants, shopping and nightlife. We even took public transportation back to the airport (2 blocks up from the hotel). We will definitely stay here again!

We had a nice stay at this friendly hotel. The location is peaceful, a couple of blocks from the beach, down the street from shopping and surrounded by dining options, and right next to several bus stops, including the $0.25 South Beach Local that takes you around the island. The staff is very helpful and breakfast is included. A small drawback was Wi-Fi that didn't work in our room, but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Location. Just blocks from all the excitement. Walking distance. However, you can still get sleep. Excellent Price. Only con is the parking lot. Finding it is a mission. More importantly, at night it is very dark and surrounded by trees. Didn't feel safe, as I am a female and was traveling alone. Breakfast is a joke, don't pay extra for it.

It was my first trip to South Beach and this small hotel is perfect for the traveler who prefers the quiet residential area. The rooms are spotless, tastefully neutral and the steam shower was the very BEST that I have ever experienced. The staff are friendly, helpful, and I can not say enough about the manager James. I would encourage any one traveling to the area to visit and stay at the St. Augustine, what a dream.

It is a very good location, excellent service all for a very good price. The beach is 2 minutes walking distance.
