The bathroom was so filthy that the bottom of the tub was stained. We actually went out about bought cleaning supplies to make it tolerable. I don't expect 5-star accommodations at a Motel 6, but I do at least expect it to be clean. Instead of the crisp white sheets in the photo, we had multicolored beds (which can't be bleached/cleaned as well). There was only one standing floor lamp to illuminate the entire bedroom. The TV cables were unplugged, which required us to call for service because it was behind the TV which was affixed to the wall. I had medication that needed refrigeration and requested a room with a fridge, but the fridge was not plugged in and was hot. The motel sits directly on the interstate with thin windows and uninsulated doors with gaps in the frames, making it very loud. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which was the only saving grace.

Cheap & survivable, but below expectations. Stained ceramics, cracked bathroom door. Shower, toilet, & AC worked. Bed was tolerable. Weird plug locations. Did have a mini fridge & microwave. Every TV station was censored like crazy, but I think that was the cable service, not the motel itself. Good news: pet friendly!

A former ‘chain” motel, that lost its franchise for good reason. Simply put, it is dirty. One the way to our room we had to step over a man squatting on the sidewalk praising Allah. Walked into our room to the rank odor of old cigarettes. The pool at the facility appears to be a child’s chemistry experiment gone bad, with a strong presence of an algae.

Clean and fresh paint. Quiet as well. Pool was clean and sparking. There was no signage at all there. This is what I believe to have been a really run down hotel that they rehabbed. I was scared to be there, especially walking from the parking lot. Their sheets are barely there, they're so thin. No blankets at all. AC working only if I set it on 66*. There is quite a large gap between the door and door jam so I was worried about bugs. NOT ONE! Even in the middle of the night in the bathroom. So if you desperate… And I was…

The staff was friendly and helpful rooms were extremely clean and looked as if they had been remodelled. Nice pool that was actually open. All in all great stay.

If I could give this no stars I would. My family and I booked a few rooms for three nights in the Motel 6 of Gainesville, FL at the Newberry location. On our second day there a very rude employee, who was sloppily dressed, wore a dirty uniform shirt, had no name tag and a middle aged black female, harassed us about trespassing and continued to pester us about which rooms we were staying in. Myself and my family were outside and said employee was making a scene, which drew the attention of other guest. After telling her the room numbers she told us that not all our guest were registered to the rooms and we needed to leave. Nowhere is it posted that I had to register anyone to my room or that I couldn't have outside guest. She then left and brought back a cop yelling that we need to leave and she didn't care of we had reservations. When I went to check out she told her manager that she didn't tell us to leave and that we chose to leave. Also she did not refund my money. Not to mention that the rooms were quite dirty and the bathroom was filthy. Overall I was embarrassed and felt attacked and will never be staying at another Motel 6 again.

I was recently a guest at the Gainesville, Florida location and I am very dissatisfied with my experience. Not only was I embarrassed beyond belief but I felt targeted and racially profiled. On morning of 04/22/2018 my guest were verbally assaulted and persecuted by a hotel employee. She was a Plus sized black woman about late 30s to late 40s. Her appearance was unkempt and she wore no name tag. If she wasn’t wearing a shirt that said Motel 6 I would not have known she was an employee. She never stated her position or whom she was. She barraged my party with a stream of questions about our room and registered guest and liabilities, which there was no sign or posting about guest. The night before we asked to have a table from the req room and the refused to unlock it. The rooms were dank and poorly kept but I suppose when you book budget you get budget. I am so turned off by my stay and her behavior that I don’t even want to be associated with a motel 6 again.

Never again places is dirty and the staff is rude and the manager is the rudest of all she should not be running the place they need to hire some one new filthy rooms.

This location has really gone downwards from prior years and franchises. Young guy at desk night shift tries best to accommodate and be pleasant but the womens cleaning crew ruined the whole experience — — stayed there recently and when walked into lobby to drop off my key / check-out, one of the cleaning women who is kind of bent over and wears glasses was actually yelling in fact almost screaming at one of the male guests who was sitting on a couch in the lobby presumably talking to someone at the Motel 6 corporate office with a complaint. I was shocked this was actual happening so I quick took my small child back to the car as he was frightened by the cleaning lady yelling. After the guest left I went back in to turn in my key and the yelling cleaning lady was actually laughing with the other cleaning ladies about what had just happened! I called the Police to report this yelling disturbance by the Motel 6 employee per being upset with my child's reaction to it ; they said would send someone out there when could but also said that this type of disturbance at this location and their employees was not the first time it had happened I can promise Motel 6 and all others that I will NEVER stay at this location or any other Motel 6 location ever again — — because it is crystal clear that there is no management in place at this site or this never would have taken place.

The refrigerator did not work, there was no water in the pool, one of the cleaning ladies had an attitude and was very rude, also the price was a little high. The room was clean and the bed was big enough for me and my fiance also the lights on top of the bed were easy to access for feedings and the shower was easy to get in and out of. I may stay here again with my family.

Needed a budget friendly place to stay on the way from GA to Tampa. I may have slept about 1/2 hour. Within the first 10 minutes I killed 2 roaches on the floor near the bed. I tried to let it go and get some needed sleep after a long day of driving when a roach crawled across my bare should towards my neck. From that moment I had the willies the entire night. Anything that touched me made think something was crawling on me again, and who knows maybe there was! I wish that was all. Really awful paint job covering outlets, switches, vents, lights, etc. Really poorly patched holes in the walls, a non patched hole under the air conditioner that the roaches like to use when lights come on or go out, and moldy dirty bathroom. Oh and the bloody booger on the wall was the “icing on the cake”. Don’t believe me I’ve got pictures. If you ever get the chance to stay here, place on that! On a positive note, the people were nice.

Not bad, good location, friendly staff.

There are better places to stay and they seem to have some persistent pesky issues such as a/c units not being fixed. Further, the rooms are updated for the most part but they seem to not have enough cleaning staff to properly get rooms ready. I would stay here but only if they offered a deal @ndy.

Ive stayed here mutiple times and ecerytime I stay its something wrong with the ac units. Then recently ive spent about 900 dollars and the day I try to go pay for two more nights the manager comes in and tells the front desk receptionist unh unh say they nonlonger want my business cause I damaged the room which was not true.

Room didn't look bad when you walk in but then you notice your feet sticking to the floors as you walk the bathroom looks like it was taken from a crack house and put into room, toilet leaked from base called came and fixed it, still leaked disgusting and unsanitary not to mention the tub very nasty looking felt dirty even after showering other people pubic hairs stuck to walls of shower. Toilet looks like if you sit on it, it would come off wall also it's not secure to floor so it moves and slides from set point. The pipes under sink started to leak put finger on the leak and the pipe falls apart from being so old (for real people). The housekeeping lady came to door 3 times even opened once because she was at the wrong door. Not happy at all with stay here stayed 2 days would stay longer but to Crappy of a place should get money back for at least one day for having to clean and walk in toilet water for 2 days.

Very dirty. Floor was filthy, bathtub had pealing paint. Door to bathroom wouldn't shut all the way due to too many layers of paint, dirty linens, no vending machines, first and last stay.

My great niece was admitted to Shands and I was desperately trying to locate a room for my nephew. I called multiple places to try to find a room that I could pay for in advance with no luck… until I happened upon Patrick! I cannot say enough about how helpful he was. Although I could not pay for the hotel through him he continued to help me book the room on line so I could take care of my family in such a desperate time. I could hear him handling other customers with great patience and still continuing to help me while I was working on booking the room through the online service. I have no idea if corporate or local administration monitors these reviews… but please be sure that you KEEP Patrick. I work in a large Healthcare organization and people that go above and beyond for others are hard to find! Patrick is amazing and I can only imagine if he was this helpful over the phone how great he is in person! If you are looking for a reasonable place with staff that are compassionate and caring… go see Patrick! Motel 6 I hope you realize what a jewel you have and continue to look for ways to keep employees that go the extra mile!

Very poor quality… pesimo to stay!

The only motel we've stayed at lots of times and is going to be ok. Staff is very nice. We absolutely love coming to Motel 6 in Gainesville FL. It's the absolute best!

Front desk clerk was very nice and the room would of been better if it was sanitary. It looks like it’s only cleaned out occasionally. Floor was sticky, sink looks dirty and stained, the tub floor was black and looks disgusting, microwave sticky, bed sheets looked dirty, I even saw a little roach. I really had no choice to stay here for a night because of a situation I’m going through but I would never come back here.

The front desk clerk were very helpful, not so much the housekeepers. I asked them for fresh towels after she knocked on my door to see if I was leaving or staying, she ignored me and kept on walking. The tub was disgusting, clogged up with nasty stuff. My entire whole stay at Motel6 was not pleasant. Will not be going back if my life depend on it.

Ghetto environment. I heard a couple arguingmost of the night. No toilet paper in my room. Had to change rooms, it was a little better. I was afraid to use pillows and cover. I don't think it's the cleanest spot. Bring your own linens and you should be fine.

This past weekend I stayed in the motel 6 in Gainsville, FL on Newberry Rd. I was first placed in a room with a 5 inch gap under the door and when I closed to door and tried to use the security lock the part attached to the door looked like it was ripped off. The bed spring in the room was dirty, old and had holes in the material. I payed for a King room and it was a full bed. Just because you put a single bed in a room doesn't make it a King room. I went back to the front desk to change rooms due to me not feeling safe there. They changed me to a first floor room that was a smoking room. The bathroom was dirty with something pink staining the entire tub. I slept Friday night and felt itchy not thinking anything of it and Saturday night. I discovered a bed bug on Sunday morning. I immediately went and showed the front desk clerk after requesting a manager and not having one available. He didn't seem surprised at all which tells me this isn't the first they have heard about this. He just offered to refund me a nights stay and have someone look at it. It's not about the money for me and I understand it's not the epitome of luxury but standards have to be higher than that. As customers, we pay at the end of the day and don't want to worry about things like bed bugs and anything else disgusting being in our rooms where we sleep, eat and stay. I hope they clean it up!

Ok, so it's late, and you might be evacuating due to a certain Irma. Regardless of the circumstances, you're tired and hoping for a friendly face to interact with. If this is what you're looking for, keep on looking my friend When you enter the lobby, be prepared to have your face caressed with the ample smoke of cigarettes. If you love that smell, carry on — if not, this is your precaution. If you proceeded to tread on, you'll arrive to the front desk either checking in or hoping to get a room. In my case, I was checking in. That was my mistake — checking into this hotel. Now, i'm not sure if the lady at the front desk was angry about something, but she sure took it out on me. I think I got like 6 words in before she proceeded to interrupt me and tell me that she is now speaking — signaling me to shut it. At this point, I wasn't a happy camper and was going to reply in the same manner, but decided not to (gotta pick your battles in life and this was definitely not worth it). After she was done, she proceeded to ask me if I was still wanting to stay the night. Needless to say, I walked out even knowing that most of the hotels in the area are booked because of hurricane Irma. Would You Go Here Again? Dude, I didn't even get past the front desk — I can't imagine what the conditions of the rooms would be like if the lobby looked and smelled bad. Lucky for me, I dodge a bullet and hope you do as well.

This is the biggest dump of a Motel you could ever stay at. The rooms are trash. We only stayed because everything else was booked in over an hour drive radius. And we had no other choice other than sleeping in the car. Which really would have been a better alternative. They said that they were renovating and it was taking longer than they thought. I asked then why are you even open. No bed spreads on the beds. Non smoking rooms smell of smoke with burn holes in the blanket. The wash sink was falling out of fixture. Drain in dirty tub was dark black from aparent use of drain cleaner. And still backed up with water. We all decided to wait to shower until we got home the next day. To be honest you would be better off sleeping in your car… This Motel should be inspected by the health inspector and closed until fit for habitation. Not anything and I mean anything like what they show on the booking web site.

I gave it a one star only to be able to leave a review but this place doesn't even deserve that! I booked this place based on the Deceiving pictures online. The check-in was nice and quick even though the lobby and parking lot was empty so I should've known something was up. The gentleman at the desk was nice and professional. When my sister, daughter and I entered the room we were disgusted! This room looked NOTHING like the pictures online and we had to go back on the website to make sure that this was the same place. The room was small, I booked for king bed with a sofa bed and there was only a king bed, bathroom was disgusting moldy and black stains. The sheets on the bed was old and stiff. Tv was from the 1900's the carpet was dusty and the mattress was stained and ripped. We tried to make it work cause we were just staying for a night till we started getting itchy while laying on the bed trying to watch a movie. We left the room in a flash before the potential bed bugs got on our bedding and clothes. We couldn't stop scratching. I went back to the desk and asked for a refund 30 min later if that and booked at Best Western where we had the best and a very comfortable stay. I would only recommend this place to my worse enemy!

We couldn't be there even a night The worst place, even for a night! When we get there immediately we saw one roach on the bed, and other by the air-conditioner, a hole on the sheets and a dirty shower, and the worst thing that we saw was a hole between the wall and the floor, it looks like a mice cave. Dirt and stinks was in that room. We made this reservation with Travelocity, they understood the situation and kindly refunded the cost to our card.

Per Kasey Merkison… The hotel is horrible and has a "No Refund Policy" Don't stay here and don't book a room here. No management ever available… They try to say they will give refunds if you choose not to stay, Don't believe them. Pictures are worth a thousand words and boy do I have disgusting ones of my stay here. Microwave was filthy, dirty q-tips in the bathroom floor, dirty tub and dirty bathroom floor, only one towel, washcloth and bathmat in the room, no bed covers, broken door lock… marijuana bags, and ashes in the bedside table. Cigarette butts on the floor under the bedside table, dust hanging from the air vent in the room. This hotel is utterly disgusting! The only pleasant thing about my stay at this hotel was when I was LEAVING!

Disgusting! Dirty linen, dirty beds and chairs, ac knob was broken off, not even a roller to hold the toilet paper. We even found a used condom on the floor. You have GOT to be kidding me. This place was so nasty. Never again.

Disgusting, dirty, no towels, filthy quilt, no staff, old and nasty… run! Also, not safe, lock missing from door (broken completely off). You can't call the front desk from the room because the phone is not working, so if you need emergency help, you'll never get it! Youd be better off sleeping in your car!

I wish I could give this hotel a 0! DO NOT STAY HERE! MY DAUGHTERS CLOTHING WAS STOLEN FROM OUR BAG! We thought we would save a few dollars since we just needed a place to sleep on our way to Orlando. HUGE MISTAKE! They had to move us to 3 different rooms for various reasons. During our moves one of our bags was left by mistake in a room that was deemed unable to be slept in by the front desk. We left the hotel to have dinner and were gone maybe 2 hours at best. The maintenance man found our bag and gave it to the front desk. When I received the bag it was missing several items of our 4 year old daughters clothing, including her underwear. When I confronted the Maintenance man about someone going through the bag he said that, "they did to identify whose it was", when I asked the front desk about it, she was shocked and said no one opened the bag… right. The best room they could give us smelled of smoke even though it was a non-smoking room, had dirty clothes under the bed, something that looked like blood stains in the bathroom and cigarette holes in the comforters, which didn't have any lining in them. The top lock on the door was broken off and when the door was closed you could clearly see outside through the gaps around the door. While we were getting ready to leave we discovered a razor blade in the bible in the drawer where someone had clearly been doing some drugs.

This motel off interstate 75 at the Newberry ext. Is completely disgusting. No towels, no housekeeping, rooms Not maintained, dirt carpet. Manager on duty could not, speak ENGLISH when we complained, he hung the phone up. Went to front desk in the morning the unprofessional clerk said, quote, we do not have housekeeping on extended stays. I had to try to make her understand that two days is not an extended stay. Never again these people are crooks!

This is a very old hotel that needs to be torn down. The owners need to be cited. There were no smoke detectors in the room, dirty pillows, sheets did not fit the bed properly, baby roaches crawling up the walls. Bait and switch tactic, we were told that our credit card could not be charged at 3PM prior to our arrival; therefore, the original lower rate for our room was not available; however, another room was available at a higher rate. Hum! Avoid this hotel … Stay at your own risk … only if you are desperate for a hotel room.

I also forgot to mention the toe nail clippings and cigarette ashes on the floor… Being that many comments were made about false advertisment online it appears they had a professional cleaner come in and clean 1 or 2 rooms for the website… Smart. But thats traceable we can see when those were added. IT will not help your case. This place should be SHUT DOWN. The owners should be ashamed to have a place like this open and to CHARGE people to stay there!

Don't fall for the nice pretty photos on their site. The front lobby is nice and the photos from the room was nothing compared to the one we got. I don't expect to be a 5 star but at least clean the dam place. The room was filthy, the carpet smells like mildew as soon you walk in. There was stains everywhere, even on the phone. We brought our dog and the moment he step foot in the room he peed on the carpet thinking he was outdoor. Our dog is 2yrs old and we'll trained. We would've just slept there because we were so tired from the long drive, but the AC wasn't working. We complain to the manager and he came and left saying he was going to tell his boss. Finally the owner (not the manager) came and he was rude and raising his voice on us. Telling us the AC is the best it's been and there was nothing wrong with it. After the back and forth arguing he says we can leave and will reimburse our moneyback. So we pack and went to the front desk but they say we got the room for more than 30min and that we were not allowed to get our deposit back. We told the front lobby about the owner telling us that we would be able to get our money back so he called to confirm. Finally he agreed with us and gave us the receipt that states our money will be deposit back in our account. Unfortunately they didn't instead charge us anyways. My advice to you is not to trust this establishment. It's not well maintained, owner is rude and he lied. Basically robbed us.
