Ed and Ellen are truly a delight and are the essence of the Keys! Highly recommend them and have referred them for over 30 years.

A bit run down and too close to the road (incessant noise of the cars). The cleaning is not done (we spent 3 nights) welcome. Bike rental right across the road and right next to the park where you can canoe in the mangroves.

Very old structure small room beds very uncofortable the towels smelled bad. Located right on the main street the noise of the cars didn t let us sleep super over Price 99 Dollar per Night was Just Way too much.

Sheets and towels are so faded and worn it appears they haven't been replaced since this dive opened. They are much cheaper for last minute booking than everyone else in the keys so there's that but I'm not sure if this was a win for the hometeam. The place was so worn down we slept on top of the bedding with the spare blankets that were much less used. For what you're paying ($145) it should at LEAST have towels and sheets that are replaced periodically over the life of the company. It's disgusting and a complete disappointment. Then on top of that a few older hippy/surfer beach bum types showed up and Ellen (the owner) straight up judgingly asked them "you guys aren't going to give me trouble are you? " I can't recommend this place in good conscience. And we aren't the picky type either! So it really is that bad.

Stayed there 2 years ago, loved it, comfy, like home, looking to book again this year…

It was very cozy and felt like home. I would go back anytime.

Things I did not like, Needs more water pressure. Climb to the rooms. Things I liked, beds were clean and comfortable.

I loved staying here. Has a kitchenette that allows for budget travelers to eat efficiently while on the island. The AC was wonderful and the owners are very kind. Ed is very funny and got us cracking up a few times. The only downside I could see was that the water pressure was less than perfect. Loved it and will be visiting again!

Inexpensive. Not fancy, no good views but it was good for our budget. Ed and Ellen we're really nice. Room was clean, it didn't feel gross.

This place was nice, and cozy. Served us, very well! Will definitely stay again.

DO NOT fall for this scam. We booked this for our honeymoon. False pictures on website, it was so nasty we left after 10 mins. He refused to give us our money back. We confronted him about the false pictures and he said "well you probly looked at multiple websites and are mistaken". We looked him up on other travel sites and saw multiple people he scammed and got away with it. He gets you to put a deposit down, then when you get there he will ask for your card… ask to see the room before you give him card. Bc of his website you will not be able to fight it and get your money back when you dispute with card company. Even if you show proof that you stayed somewhere else.

Ellen was the sweetest and even let us check in at 9:40am because we arrived earlier than anticipated. She cleaned the room herself and made sure we had everything we needed. She gave us a quick orientation to Key Largo and pointed us in the right direction for eats and attractions as well. I would give the room / bathroom 3 stars just because it's dated a bit and could use updating, and the water pressure could have been better. 5 stars for the whole experience though and definitely couldn't beat the price and hospitality!

Worst place in the world unfriendly unaccommodating would not recommed to anyone! beware before booking!

We stayed at their lodging at Big Pine Key. The place was spacious but smelly and dirty. We will not stay there again.

The other comment scared me at first, but idk where they went. The price is low and worth it! The room was clean and Ed was very friendly, obviously drunk, but friendly. I would defenetly recommend.

Stayed at key largo location. We had ants and mold in bathroom. Also found both Ed and Ellen to be rude. The price brought me here, but while under current management I would recommend staying elsewhere.
