Reviews of Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort 3*
This is a great hotel. Great and friendly staff.
Currently staying here, the room I have is absolutely disgusting. Sheets are ripped, mold on the ceiling, toilet has urine all on the outside. Tried to get a different room due to a mold allergy and they told me no, they’ll have house keeping come check it out. Granted it’s 10:30pm. I even showed them these photos and nothing. For all the money paid for these kinds of trips, they could do better.
Wonderful family resort with lots of fun things like water parks, bowling, food places and beautiful rooms! We stayed in a suite with 7 people and were not crowded. Staff was s nice and accommodating! Will book again as we have annual passes.
Great hotel, great staff, lovely and clean.
Great for HHN and families. Staff is amazing!
Excellent place🥰 Plenty of space to move dont even have to leave the premises. Would stay here every time we come to Universals.
Very nice place to unwind and enjoy the friendly staff and poolside❤️ As influencers, we were able to capture great moments and photos to share with THE WORLD! 🌎
It’s simply ridiculous to charge hotel guests $20 per night for parking! Absolutely ridiculous … just checked in. First and last time here!
Very nice place to stay and a great staff. Check in was smooth and the shuttle to city walk was amazing. Everything is conveniently located at the hotel 🥰
Really enjoying this hotel! Love all the amenities! We booked a family suite and they are wonderful! Brian at the Sizzle lobby bar is the best bartender!
Love the retro design of the hotel. Very well done. The pool areas could use an update but they have water slide pool and lazy river pool. Our suite had separate living room and kitchenette.
Brilliant hotel family friendly and close to all universal parks great atmosphere can’t fault it.
This is has always been our home away from home. We love Cabana bay. The staff and service is excellent. The lifeguards are on point always. The atmosphere is amazing.
The hotel & pools were amazing but we waited 2 hours online to check in. We booked & checked in online but had to sign. The lines were enormous and only like 4 or 5 people behind the desk. This was at 945 pm did not get to room until midnight with 4 kids. In our party. The cafe has different options but the lines there were also ridiculous. The cash register I went to keep freezing and I was charged for the persons meal in front of me. They told me it would not process I am still watching my bank account. That will be a phone call if it doesn’t fall off. Resort is beautiful but they need better management.
An awesome resort and so close to the parks it was amazing 🤩🏝😎☀️
Beautiful spot! On site dining is great for families who don't want to travel off resort. Beautiful pools. Plenty of fun!
Very helpful kind customer service. Went out of their way to make our visit was wonderful. Safe clean atmosphere and food prices are very affordable compared to others. You don’t “rent tubes” for the lazy river. Once you pay and return the tube they give you a brand new wrapped tube to use for all future tubing so your actually buying a new tube. Rooms were clean and plenty of space for us and much more affordable than rooms here locally. They made sure we had plenty of supplies. I can’t complain about a single thing. We are just grateful people who absolutely enjoyed our stay with no complaint and happy hearts. Thank you. I will be back! Easy access to everything and wonderful atmosphere!
This place has been great. Customer service is fantastic. The trip to the parks is short and easy via the included buses. The hotel itself has a lot of great things to do… however, make sure to bring LOTS of money. The cheapest thing in the whole hotel is the water fountain and Starbucks, and that’s crazy. You even have to rent a tube to float the lazy river in the hotel, like, for real.
This was our second visit to Cabana Bay and we loved it more than the 1st time. Our family loves everything about this hotel. It's very affordable, lively and clean. The Staff is super friendly, the food is good and the bar drinks are yummy. We cannot wait to go back!
We had the absolute best time spending Christmas here! Walking distance to the parks was a plus for us! Clean, nice rooms with the most amazing, friendly and helpful staff! Would recommend to anybody and will definitely stay here again!
Excellent Hotel! You have everything in one place without having to go out and use your car. It has a bar in the pool area, it has a lazy river that children love, the pool area is always guarded by lifeguards … It has a bowling alley, a games center, a variety of restaurants! I loved it, I would definitely stay here again!
Great retro feel. Spacious rooms. Good prices at the restaurant with bowling, two pools and a lazy river. The kids had lots of fun.
This place is beautiful lots of things to do this kids absolutely love it the pool areas are just spectacular this is the ultimate family resort.
This was a great resort with a 50s beach party vibe! From the moment we checked in, we noticed an upbeat happy feeling at the resort. Our room was beautifully themed and sparkling clean. The cafeteria had a ton of choices and the dining area made us feel like we were at a drive-in movie theater. The old cars parked outside added to the nostalgia. This place really felt like a trip back in time and a welcomed escape from modern day reality. I would highly recommend it. We had a great time and everybody was friendly, and our service was amazing. 🧡
Awesome place! Huge and great amenities.
The best of the best! Must experience amazing! Favs 5 star always.
Great family resort for sure! Lots of things to do. Bowling, swimming, great cafe for a variety of goods. Rooms are clean and everyone is extremely nice & accommodating.
Exceptional experience, great service, cordiality and great price for being able to enjoy everything you have here … I will come back here often … great.
It’s a great place to stay. The bus shuttle to Universal Studios is awesome. The pool water is nice and warm.
We love the retro feel of Cabana Bay. Our kids love the two pools, lazy river and water slide. It’s has a great family friendly environment with the best staff.
Very fun resort. The staff is great very friendly and accommodating. The room we were given was great. It was very close to the bus stop.
Great atmosphere here and incredibly generous, friendly staff. I recommend the omelet station for breakfast (shout-out to Lise and Luckson for making one heck of an omelet!
Nice place to visit, I njoy my stay. Kind people and work staff.
The atmosphere is amazing. The staff are so nice and always so helpful.
Wonderful staff. Neat hotel. Great pool.
Staff was wonderful. I love the text if you need something. Would go back.
Great family friendly place to come on vacation! Beautiful rooms and resort.
Wonderful family resort. Pools. Rooms are great. Food selections. Big fun.
This place was wonderful! The decor was spot on and all the staff was so helpful. The family suites were a little smaller than we thought, but the staff was able to move us to two standard adjoining rooms. There were two pools, was walking distance to Volcano Bay and shuttles to the theme parks and City Walk. Would definitely stay here again!
Love the look. Friendly staff. Good food.
Good value for the money. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Good, clean resort. A lot to do. Only down fall, The Beds are really uncomfortable …
Great hotel overall for price, amenities, location to parks, I could go on and on! Very family friendly, and AWESOME lobby bar :)
Great place. Great food. Great service all around wonderful place. Definitely would come back.
Love this place. Great service and amenities.
Great views, great rooms, great food! very friendly staff!
Awesome pool, great family suites with kitchen, awesome staff!
Absolutely loved our stay. Great Amenities, outstanding service, and is very clean.
Great place super clean and comfortable we had a poolside suite which was very spacious. Very convenient access to the parks. Definitely worth the price.
Fabulous hotel, friendly staff everywhere from housekeeping to reception!
Family friendly hotel and would recommend to anyone!
I need to go back “home” sooooooooooon! ❤️
Amazing resort, great staff, the rooms are clean and well kept and the 50's theme is so very awesome! has pool, lazy river and water slide, shuttles to and from the park. Will definitely stay with them again.
Great place to stay! The pools were a little warm for summer temperatures in the 90's. The prices were a little ridiculous too.
The family suites are spacious, the amenities are great for couples and families alike. The staff is friendly and knowledgable.
The only place we will stay when we go ‘home’ to Universal! Can’t recommend it enough! Great rooms, fantastic staff, amazing atmosphere and more!
I thought it was the most beautiful place ive beento I loved it, It was so pretty and clean. Only thing food and pop a little pricy but then again its on a resort.
Loved every minute of our stay here easy check in and out frequent shuttle for univesal no need for car hire uber cheap enough elsewhere. Concierge staff are amazing friendly and hellpful roomms cleaned daaily free clean towels daily and on pool side. Cheap launderette. Refill cups are a bargain food is very well priced, amenities are fabulous: bowling alley several bars and food outlets, arcade, gym and spa. Lazy river, 2 large pools and splash pools, lawn cinema weather permitted. Early entrance to parks. Can use room key for purchases onsite and at parks save carrying the world with you. Love the retro feel and everyone walks around with a smile. Best part the firepit banter at night. Rooms are a decent size and are well stocked with toiletries and coffee x Cant wait to return.
We had rented a suite. I thought it would have been bigger. Basically is was the size of a reg room with a divider door. We had 5 people total. 2 Adults 3 kids. It was SUPER HOT in the room and we even had maintenance come as soon as we walked in. Our room was on the back side of the resort. It has an amazing lobby and gift shop. The pool would have been cool but the 1 time we had a chance and left the park early for it was cloudy and they wouldn’t even let us in the pool. Made us leave as soon as we sat down. No lighting, no thunder. The next day or day after there was thunder everywhere and they was all swimming. The resort was very convenient for the bus ride to the parks and back. It’s was also convenient to be able to have Volcano Bay in walking distance. If the room was bigger and would have stayed cooler after our 10 mile walks each day it may have been better.
This has become one of my favorite places to stay. If it weren't so expensive, we'd probably be here every time we visited the parks. I absolutely love the decor here in the rooms and around the hotel in general. It makes me happy, to put it bluntly. Watching the old commercials run in the cafe while eating a meal is pretty awesome. Food selection is by far the best I've seen in a hotel, albeit a tad pricey. But that comes with the territory. Annual passholders can use their discounts when getting food or souvenirs at the hotel!. The fact that you have to pools to choose from is pretty stellar as well. The garden walk to the parks is wonderful and it's literally right next do to volcano bay.
My family and I really enjoyed our time at this hotel. We only stayed one night but we definitely made use of all the amenities. I highly recommend staying at this place. Rooms were clean and the hotel was very fun and retro. Lots of places to eat and two amazing pools. I definitely would stay here again.
This resort is fantastic for families, couples, singles… everyone! Everything you need for a good vacation is on-site: arcade, bowling alley, restaurants & lounges, fitness center, two huge pools, a lazy river. There's too much to list it all. You can either walk to Universal Studios or take the free bus shuttle. If you want to explore Orlando, Avis is also on-site for car rentals. The rooms are sufficient. We had 5 adults in a family suite and everyone had enough space and was comfortable. The staff is outstanding. We just got home yesterday and we're already planning our next stay!
The location of the hotel was great! It was very easy to just walk to Volcano Bay or take the shuttle to city walk. The staff were all very nice and friendly. I felt that the room was fairly small, we had a family suite and felt pretty cramped with five of us. The bathroom was also small but it was nice that there were two sinks and a separate shower from the toilet. Overall, we had a good experience!
The resort is amazing. I recommend getting a room larger than standard if its 4 or more so that you have enough space. There's several things to do on the resort. The theme parks are all within in a 10 minutes driving distance. My family and I have enjoyed our stay here. I will definitely recommend this resort to anyone. Demps Family Summer Vacation 2018
Whole trip was a complete pleasure. Rooms where spotless, food was wonderfully prepared. Entire staff was very kind and helpful. Went to Volcano Bay, lines kind of long but stopped at a cart for an over and the young lady working there her name was Daryn was the absolute best part of the day. She was very nice and helpful. We talked to her for a bit because of her southern accent and she was very funny. Volcano Bay did a great job hiring her. She is also very knowledgeable. She answered every question we had about Volcano Bay. She should be a boss or something.
Stayed here on our family vacation for 9 days! Great place to stay for families. It has 2 pools, a bowling alley, an arcade, a Starbucks and great workout area! Room was adequate but the bathroom was directly in front of beds. Cafeteria style dining with many different food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner was convenient. Easy to get to Universal and the other parks.
This hotel, overall, is a good value — especially for families. Super convenient for Volcano Bay. Shuttle service to the other parks seems unnecessarily slow, though. Also, we like to hit the parks early and then relax by the hotel pool for lunch… Our room was never cleaned before getting back ~1pm. The staff is super friendly/helpful and the beds are quite comfortable. The AC works great, too. Food is also surprisingly tasty.
Cabana Bay Beach Resort was a perfect getaway for the two of us. Close access to everything. We walked to the park each morning (10 minutes), but shuttle buses ran pretty regular if you would rather ride. Everyone was very accommodating. Rooms were clean. People were nice/helpful.
I love this place. It's a great value and great fun. A variety of fun: The lazy river makes me never want to leave. We roasted marshmallows over fire pits. We went down the pool side. The bowling alley is fun and cute. The diner area is pretty good, although I wish it had longer hours. The wheelchair accessible rooms are great! I highly recommend Cabana Bay for everyone.
We have stayed here twice and so far we love all the amenities it has to offer. Great location specially if you are attending the theme parks. If you can't find it on grounds you are just a short drive away. Wish the bowling alley had more lanes or shorter waits but it's not a big deal. The courtyard family suite Poolside was a big hit for our family… Easy access to the pool with great views and the room was specious for the four of us. Check out for yourself and enjoy!
Good food but very expensive. The rooms are very standard for high price. Good bowling alley, and gym.
My family stayed during this Memorial Weekend, we came in Thursday night and are leaving today which is Sunday. And I found the hotel absolutely amazing. With 3 children the pool was perfect and very clean and not crowded at all, and they kids were entertained for hours with the slide. The staff are extremely friendly and service is extremely prompt! We are sitting by the pool now and it just rained, I couldn’t believe that the staff actually came out and dried the tables and chairs. We ate at the diner here a few times, during one of my trips one of the fryer stop working and I had to wait a little bit of time to get chicken tenders for one of our children, I could not believe that the chef actually came out and apologized and I did receive a discount on our meals due to having to wait. I didn’t even have to say anything about waiting, Terenne behind the counter took it upon herself to inform the Chef of my wait, I was just blown away by this gesture. We need sheets really late one night, we called the front desk, hot sheets and a blanket in less than 5 minutes. I would highly recommend coming here to anyone who is planning to stay on property. Definitely get the refillable souvenir cup, the drinks are good and it will keep it cold longer. We plan on coming to Orlando every year for our family vacation and we will definitely be staying at this resort.
Hotel located in Universal, Orlando. Great modern comfortable, good facilities the food is bought in the hotel lobby until 11 pm. The price is average of what comes out the food in all the places and where we went, about $12 per person The hotel is. Very good we would be happy today.
Absolutely recommended hotel for visiting the parks! "
A fun vibrant hotel! Ideal for family's but would recommend to anybody! Handy shuttle bus to city walk, 2 pools and a dining hall with a wide selection of food what not to love?! We booked through virgin and upon arrival we received a token for free rubber rings each which I think is such a nice touch! Rooms are simple and comfortable beds which is ideal. Will definitely be returning again!
A very nice hotel in a great location on property at universal studios. The hotel has easy access to and from the interstate and transportation to all of the universal properties. The hotel was very clean, family friendly, and offered a lot of fun activities. Two large (but not very deep) swimming pools, plus a lazy river, splash pad, pool and table tennis tables, as well as several other out door game areas provided for endless entertainment. There is also a bowling alley, fitness center, and arcade if the weather drives you inside. Food options were good and plentiful with both dine in and carry out options available as well as room service. There is even a convenience store section in the main lobby with options to take back to your room. The ONLY complaint we had was that we happened to be there during Universal's "grad bash" and as a result the roads in and out of the hotel were changed around to allow for parking. This wasn't communicated to us ahead of time and the directions were not very clear as to how to get back to the hotel at night so we ended up driving around for an extra 20 minutes. A minor complaint and one that would only be an issue on special circumstances.
Spectacular Hotel. Huge. The pool, the transportation to the parks, the attention. All spectacular. The Starbucks is the ground floor is Buenisimo.
I went in 2015 and the truth is that I loved it! It's perfect. The Habitanciones are beautiful, the hotel is beautiful, has good service, laundry, shops, restaurant. …
Nice property, large and clean room. Too bad for the poorly managed car parking and for the continuous noise coming from a control unit inside the room.
The rooms are nice enough and clean. There's a regular shuttle back and forth to the park, and you can walk to Volcano Bay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's also a great little shop that sells a lot of good souvenirs. The prices for food are pretty steep, though. One thing worth noting — — your parking is good until midnight on the day you check out. So you can still go to the park when you check out.
Our kids and my husband and I had a wonderful time. It was very entertaining. There where games for our kids to play there was great music. The pools where big. The lazy river was my favorite. The places to eat where amazing. Exspensive but great food choices. Room was very large and comfortable beds.
One of the most beautiful hotels with giant pool complex, bowling and gym. The design is retro-style, even vintage cars stand in front of the hotel.
Nice hotel, room for 6 not so big but spacious to preserve the intimacy. Cozy. Simple and practical kitchen space for use. Pools with amazing water games, and places for recreation. Huge dining room set in the 50/60 I loved it. Ideal location to enjoy the Volcano Bay water park. I totally recommend it.
Night 2 of a 4 night stay. Staff is friendly and helpful, room is clean and simple. Ate lunch at the Bayside Diner. Food was okay (my family had the cheeseburger, chicken sandwich and chicken tenders) but certainly have had better and it was the only reason for a 4 star and not a 5. Visited the lazy river for a short while and enjoyed it. The rest of the pool was really nice. They even had a DJ that led kid friendly games and dances. The shuttle service to and from Universal Studios is fast and frequent. Have yet to wait more than about 5 min and mostly have just walked on. Would definitely stay here again.
This resort has a fun and tropical environment set in 60's-70's decor. Reminiscent of fallout (game reference) before the nuclear meltdown,. Staff was extremely friendly and heck, they even have their own bowling alley. Only reason for the four star was they sometimes go a little too heavy on the carpet cleaner solution. However I will definitely stay here again.
The diner would have to be my favorite part of this place. I loved this place because there was so much to do with out even leaving out the front door. There was a gym, a Starbucks, and even a souvenir shop inside. The souvenir shop was kind of expensive though. I also loved how the staff was so caring and when you would leave your room they would clean it for you upon request so that you return to a clean room. Lastly the diner had so many different areas to try different foods. I got lost in the options, so I had a little bit of everything. I highly suggest anyone interested in going to definitely check it out.
The entire hotel is super cool with a retro theme. It's only a few years old (opened 2014) & it's extremely clean. The pool areas are amazing, including a large fire pit area, turf, & a lazy river! There is a shuttle service from the hotel to the parks & it was easier than I even expected. A few things to note is you have to buy your breakfast & you have to pay for overnight parking. Other than those things, this hotel is a perfect place to stay if you are visiting Universal Parks! Loved it!
The resort uses its 50s styling to mask the fact that it's just a lot of relatively small rooms packed together as usual. That being said it is nice to have that distraction. The remainder of the resort outside of the rooms is nice and well kept. There's only one small 8 person hot tub for the entire Resort. I find this to be quite a bad flaw in its design. Also there is no hard restriction on children in the 8 person hot tub which quite frankly I find to be unacceptable. Unfortunately the Lazy River was closed while we were there so only the main pool on either side was open along with a water slide and kids water area. The Starbucks there has limitations like the ones in Targets in such as they accept a Starbucks card but they cannot redeem rewards nor are they able to refill a Starbucks card. All food that I had at the resort was a very good quality. Their breakfast at the main dining area was good and The Omelette bar was quite delicious. I had a hamburger from the bowling alley dining area and that was phenomenal. All in all a good place to stay while visiting Universal Orlando.
Beautiful hotel with excellent service and maintenance. Very close to the park. I congratulate Max on his kindness and disposition. I recommend it.
Beautiful hotel very modern and complete!
Points in favor has everything close by, the lobby, the pool, the universal parks, the shuttle which is is spectacular and comfortable. Also the Dcoracdeco and spaciousness of the rooms.
Points against very few but I could point out that the beds are not very comfortable the mattresses, the towels not without excellent quality and the shampoo and conditioner that Dan is of very low quality regarding the hotel that is.
I would like to offer breakfast included.
Overall I loved it and would go back without hesitation!
The best hotel in Orlando by far. The staff were very friendly and EYC, the room was very good.
Great quality Price.
Excellent hotel! Everything is meant to be beautiful. Great atmosphere. We had a great.
Being one of the most economical hotels of Universal, this was not noticed in its large facilities, spacious spaces, comfortable rooms, central location and shuttle service to the parks. Totally recommended if you are looking to be more in the parks than in the hotel as to that is what they point out and do not intend a personalized attention. It has a wonderful pool to enjoy after a tour of the parks.
To improve: The food is not strong because of its small variety and self-service, which makes the products are prepared to cater for mass population. By receiving so many tourists, the cleanliness of the restaurant is something that sometimes neglects N.
If you love retro, this is the hotel for you. It has a great 60s retro theme with plenty of amenities including a bowling alley and Starbucks. The rooms were good, nothing special, but also no complaints. The room restroom was a little small, but doable. The beds we're comfortable and the Samsung TVs with apps was a plus. The staff was great, and had zero issues. Would recommend. Note: It is more of a family environment, so expect plenty of kids. Overall, great experience.
I'm currently in the midst of a stay. We checked in on Thursday and it is now Sunday and have yet to have anyone come by to clean the room. Thankfully we aren't dirty but clean towels would be nice. As a whole the resort is beautiful, convenient and very family friendly I just can't help but wonder if they need more cleaning staff. I may need to wash my own towels.
Best place to stay when doing the parks. The retro feel of the hotel is a lot of fun and there are many activities to keep busy after the parks close. Lots of stuff for kids to do and a nice family atmosphere. The garden walk is great too a nice 15 to 20 min walk and you pop up right in city walk. Early admission to the Harry potter world is also a great perk. The only con I can even think of is the place is huge and you may have to trot a quarter mike or so from the lobby to your room. Stayed here two trips and will continue to do so everyone.
Cabana Bay Beach Resort is awesome for any family wanting to stay on Universal property that is on a budget. The family suites are awesome and can sleep 6. The split bathroom is a must for a larger family. The 2 pool areas are wonderful for children. The lazy river is a wonderful feature for a value/moderate level resort on property. Just remember, bring your own pool float use, otherwise you have to buy one there!
Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It's a great concept to have the classic look of old hotels that brings me back seeing some of the classic cars and look of the place in general. The buses to Universal or convenient if you're going to the park for the day. The setup of the hotel has One Small Hitch and that it is a big hotel so you have to do a little walking to get back and forth to the main lobby to check-in and check-out or get coffee. But In fairness there is a Starbucks in the lobby so it isn't all that bad.
The very best place to stay at in Universal Studios! It’s a very refreshing place to come back to after a long day at the parks, and I have absolutely no complaints. All the staff are extremely warm and welcoming, from people at the front desk, security, cleaning staff, gift shop cashiers, etc. The dining area is incredible, they have very good food that people actually enjoy, and the prices are decent, especially concerning the quantity of food. If you have kids, there is a lot of food that is VERY kid friendly. It’s very easy to access the bus to the park and back, and everything is laid out where you can get to and find everything perfectly. The room staff cleans your room extremely quickly, and they leave a very good amount of towels behind for you. At several hotels, I get frustrated because they will give a room with three people in it three towels for a few days. Not a problem at all in here. Whenever I came back to the hotel I wasn’t ever disappointed, because I had just as great of an experience here as the parks. I’ve stayed at the Cabana Bay once before and came back again because it was the best. My first time visiting Universal Studios, I stayed at the Royal Pacific — a more expensive option, and I truly enjoyed this better! The Cabana Bay is almost like a second home for me, and I highly recommend it! It’s run perfectly. I had most embarrassingly left a small watermelon wallet behind, and didn’t know about it.
This hotel is great for people who want to save some money. Shuttle to city walk is free. Early admission to volcano bay and Harry potter. Staff has always been friendly. Rooms look and feel updated and clean. Parking does cost money but if you drive to the parks it's more or the same amount. Definitely recommend!
This resort is family friendly with lots to do on resort. Very clean, well maintained and run. There is a large selection of food variety and even lots of gluten free options which I need. It's a beautiful hotel. There is amazing bus service to universal, we never had to wait when going to and from the universal park. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with or without children.
We love it! The Theme of this hotel was very nice, close to Universal, we parked our car at the hotel for $12 p/day, we took the bus to go to the park (less than 5 minutes). For breakfast: you can find many stations and have different selections ($10, drink not included) and open till 10 am. Pool hours from 8 am to 11 pm. Employees are very helpful and the place is perfect.
Fantastic on property resort! It has a lovely pool with a lazy river, nice rooms, a great selection of restaurants, and a fun mid-century modern feel. We really enjoyed our stay! While you are there, be sure to go to the Swizzle Bar and see Brian to have him concoct a one of a kind cocktail for you! We had an absolute blast chatting with the people around us about their park experiences while enjoying our fabulous drinks! Definitely check out the Coke cup program if you'll be spending several days at the resort. We'll definitely be back!
Stay elsewhere. They advertise family "suites" but what you're getting is a small hotel room with no space between the beds. There's a privacy screen that separates a sleeper sofa, not sure how that is useful. You'll eat at the diner once for convenience, but never again because the prices are ridiculous — — $6 for a cold kids' pancake that was made hours earlier. You'll find more reasonable prices at sit down restaurants inside the parks. The bus is nice, but it's mostly left turns to the city walk which makes for long rides during busy times. Access to Volcano Bay is great but unmarked so you'll wander around for a time trying to find it.
Great, fun for the little ones. Very good hotel and excellent service. Two swimming pools where you can enjoy with the slide and the roscos, you can't beat a night.
The location is great. The rooms are nice and clean with a cool retro vibe. Our room was on the very far end of the hotel and became quite a trek to make it out there. The amenities were awesome. The food was okay for the most part but the pizzas were amazing. Service was good except for the fact that they don't have tea at all but the luggage service was very convenient especially once we checked out and still had a day in the parks. Great resort. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
We chose this hotel because it is on-site for Universal theme parks and it was reasonably priced. Yes, it could use some updating and some repairs (our bathroom door had a big enough gap in it when closed that you could stick two fingers through it) However, the communal bathrooms were always clean, the help was always friendly and there was plenty of good fresh food. The food was not exceptional but it was good and reasonable and the kids actually preferred going back and eating at the hotel at the end of the day instead of going to a restaurant. If you are staying for more than a day and have kids with you then buy them a refillable cup. It will pay for itself. You might not think so but trust me, it will. Very helpful and very friendly staff during our entire stay.
The place is beautiful, this close to the parks of universal, to Volcano we walked, to be staying in a universal hotel allow you to enter 1 hour before the park with which we took very much that time to do and repeat attractions Q we really liked! The people in general both in parks and hotel are very friendly, warm, generates confidence and make you feel q are to serve you in what you need! With great sympathy and good vibes! My room had no microwave or electric kettle as I had said other guests but not that I do not change my stay… is a very complete hotel, has several places to eat, varied food, a bowling, 2 pools, 1 more adapted for children, a Fueguito Where to make marshmallows, a Starbucks, lots of details and a lot of security! A lot of lifeguard, cops on bikes, all great! I would go back and recommend it!
The hotel people have all been top notch. We were upgraded to a family suite so we wouldn't have to wait for our room and could get right to the park. The pool slide was very enjoyable as was the lazy river. Unsurprisingly, anything optional is overpriced, so be aware. We brought our own food and pool floats, with an eye on containing costs, and are pleased with our results and our stay. Also be aware that the water taxi to the parks is easily accessible from the hotel, through an easy walk to Sapphire Falls.
My stays at the Cabana Bay Hotel have always been super excellent! High quality service, clean rooms, friendly staff, the food is super at a very reasonable price. Service of transportation to the included parks and the waiting time approx. It is 10 minutes… so far I have not had any negative situation! I recommend it!
Convenient location, about 30 minutes from home. Located near amusement parks such as universal, so much to do. Other guests were friendly and not bothersome. Always something to do and lifeguards were always keeping good watch over their stations. Also rooms were clean. The only annoying part was needing to take the room card everywhere because you needed to use it to get through just about every door, even to get to the pool which I would have preferred not having my card while in the pools in case I lost it in the water.
Beautiful hotel, very comfortable rooms, with a 50 years decoration really attractive. Very comfortable to get to the. Universal Parks. With the transport of the park. Breezes swimming pools surrounded by sand. We would go again.
I wish I could give this place 10 stars! Really love this Resort! As pass holders to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure we frequent Orlando about once a month and we have stayed in numerous places, but this place by far out does them ALL! I have vowed to NEVER stay anywhere else in Orlando! The rooms as well as the property are immaculate! Love that every room has an iron/ironing board available as well a mini fridges! Two pools and a hotel lobby bar that is filled with fantastic staff! Jim is the best and has become our favorite bartender! We have stayed about 6 times this year and he even remembers our names, which is very impressive! Room service food is actually delicious! One of the best pizzas I have had NOT in a pizza shop! Also onsite transportation to and from the parks is a money saver! Do not hesitate to book your room, you will not regret your decision and I assure you, it will become your "home away from home"!
The room is very nice and clean. We got the family suite, which has a refrigerator and microwave. The pools are excellent. There is a water slide and a lazy river. There is a wide variety of food to choose from, and what we have tried was delicious. There were many vegetarian options. Every employee we have interacted with has been pleasant. We will definitely be back.
It was great! We were so close to the parks, volcano bay was walking distance from our hotel room. There was a consistent shuttle all day till 2am to take you to universal. The rooms were clean, room service came a little later than expected. However the best part about staying here was that you can get into the parks an hour early. Overall I had a great experience.
My family and I had the pleasure of staying a Cabana Bay for four/five days this month. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were generous in size and very clean. The hotel on-site diner was a wonderful place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and the prices were very reasonable. The two pools, lazy river and water slide kept all of us… young and old busy when we weren't at the parks. The on-site bowling alley, arcade and fitness center were all big hits. The theme of the hotel is wonderful. Loved all of the old songs. Love it and will return again.
Excellent hotel everything very organized and a very good attention.
Cabana Bay is a great family resort. The pools and the lazy river are awesome. The Bay liner diner has a nice selection of food for breakfast and dinner. I like staying here over the other resorts because it's kid friendly. With saying that, I wish there were a couple more kids channels on the TV in the event you get stuck in the room during a storm.
Huge Hotel with ground clearance for Universal Studio visitors. In the case of families with children apparently popular. Good bus service to the attractions of Universal Studios.
Thank you Cabana Bay Beach Resort. We absolutely loved everything. We loved Universal Studios but staying in your resort made our vacation. The room was perfect and instantly felt like home. The room was clean, quiet and we had everything we needed. The shuttle that took us to the park everyday was so great. There was always one waiting or we may have had to wait 2 minutes at the most. Also we all loved the fun music playing in the bus. We have a bad gluten allergy in our family and the kitchen made sure that we were looked after, offered yummy options and treated us like gold. That is so nice and because one of the chef's also was Celiac, he was very knowledgeable. The food was delicious and everyone was very friendly. We will recommend you to all. You have won over our hearts and we will be back for our next vacation. Thank you again. The MacDonald Family.
The rooms were awesome and very clean. They had two pools, a lazy river, and a water slide. The service was really friendly and efficient. It was really nice having the shuttles take you back and forth to universal as well. The whole resort had a 50's theme to it. I would recommend this resort to anyone.
Pools are nice. Room was clean. Maids did a good job. Some bad customer service at the bowling alley. Really bad actually. One of the guys at the desk really hates his job and should be let go immediately. All in all it was good. For the price, I'd stay again.
Excellent hotel and price is quite affordable for what it offers. On this last occasion only I went to eat at the hotel and the variety of dishes was very good and at a good price everything.
Hotel is very well located, very close to Universal studios and they also have transportation from the hotel to the parks every 10 minutes. The room is comfortable and has a minimal amount of refrigerator and TV with cable. The hotel also has a pool and a lazy river, as well as a shop, gym, restaurant, cafe, bars, etc, the food in The hotel is expensive but in the area of meals there is a microwave available so that you can buy some things at the grocery store and eat there for much less money once in a while.
Great color theme for the rooms! My building was the Americana, so I only visited the poolside with the lazy river. Room service was great! We had an accident with the safe and we couldn't open it and they got to our room and opened it in a few minutes! No long wait! I like how they have Starbucks and a Universal store inside the resort as well, very convenient! Will come here again definitely!
A super hotel I have been delighted super, very quiet, excellent quality and service from their employees of their facilities are beautiful I was fascinated by their recreation areas in their swimming pool area and bowling are super! I can't wait to get back.
Fun hotel theme! The rooms are rather on the smaller side. Housekeeping did a great job in keeping our rooms clean and well stocked with toiletries. The front desk was super friendly and welcoming. The cafeteria Burger place seemed bothered by it's customers. Not very friendly. Chewing gum, rolling eyes and scratching hair while fixing peoples food. No go. Loved the easy and fast access to Universal studios. The bus drivers where very well organized and always had a smile on their face :) The lazy river could use a good cleaning. You have to purchase the floats for the river. We would stay here again.
The location was really close to Universal and the Shuttle was very nice. There was also a garden to walk through if the wait was too long. The family suite was huge and roomy. It was very clean. The pool was amazing and the food was pretty fairly priced. The housekeepers were very sweet and thorough and replaced everything daily and read the notes we left her. There was a nice little starbucks and universal gift store too!
Cabana Bay is an awesome, clean, modern, well maintained hotel that I have enjoyed staying at multiple times. The staff is friendly and accommodating while the beds are comfortable and inviting.
Convenient location, about 30 minutes from home. Located near amusement parks such as universal so much to do. Other guests were friendly and not bothersome. Always something to do ad lifeguards were always keeping good watch over their stations. Also rooms were clean. The only annoying part was needing to take room card everywhere because you needed to use it to get through just about every door, even to get to the pool which I would have preferred not having my card while in the pools in case I lost it in the water.
This place is an amazing place, retro feel to it, with the splash of Modern. At the moment they have 4 towers to stay in and two of them give you free valet parking. Granted parking is $12 a day depend where you stay in the resort it won't matter to you. Inside the rooms are pretty spacious and very night with comfort and luxury mixed. They offer up a few bars and restaurants in the hotel itself with a beach like water area that will have you wanting to stay in instead of going out to the parks. Speaking of which it is just a short walk to City Walk, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, but why walk when they offer free shuttle drives every ten minutes right outside the lobby. Convenience everywhere. The next thing they have to offer is Cosmic Bowling if you are lucky enough to get a lane. With the amount of people staying in the resort, trying to set a reservation might be the best idea. Ideally this is a great place to stay when visiting Orlando and any of the parks available to you.
Really nice place, if you don't mind a lot of kids (which there naturally will be at Amusement parks), and you absolutely love 50's nostalgia — you should have yourself a ball here! Just prepare for walking because the place is very large, spread out and accommodates many rooms. Dining, bowling, swimming, bars, Starbucks, even an arcade — all located within the hotel. You can spend a whole day just doing what there is to do here — let alone Universal. I recommend!
Awesome. People are great. Food is good and reasonably priced. And the lazy river and pool side movies is great. Not to mention the transportation back in forth to universal.
Service is excellent and shuttles to and from the park are fast. It's great having a Starbucks on site because sometimes hotel coffee can be rough. Not much of a view from our room but that's pretty minor. The room itself is clean and the furniture is in good repair. Recommended.
Rooms were nice, no express cards but we knew that going in. Food at the hotel wasn't great looking. It's more cafeteria style and everything looked like it had been sitting out for a while. Better to get food at City Walk. Atmosphere is very vintage and fun. Early access is a plus especially to get onto some of the typically longer line rides. My rating : 3 of 5 stars.
A nice Hotel in the 50s Style. Remarkable how big this complex is. The proximity to the Universal Studios has book me moved here. Is always pleasantly cool in the Hotel. I like that! Personally, it has for me, much to many people. If You want a quiet room, not facing the Pool.
Had a great time at this resort. We stayed in the family suite. We had five guests, and they tried to fit all of us in one room, but I would recommend getting two separate rooms as we did. It sleeps up to five people because there is a pull-out couch, but we were much more comfortable in two rooms. I usually don't sleep well on hotel beds, but the beds are quite comfortable. The hotel is decorated in a cute "50's style", which makes it perfect for families. It is clean and well built, and certainly the most affordable option on Orlando Resort. We absolutely loved Harry Potter World, but it was always the busiest park. I would come prepared to do A LOT of walking, but it's definitely worth it! There is a constant stream of shuttles that will take you too and from the hotel and theme park.
Was just charged over $700 to our credit card from Cabana Bay 5 days after we got home. Confirmed that the hotel charges were paid months ago. Tried to call the business office for the hotel (Loews Hotels) had a recording assuring that my wait time was less than 4 minutes. Hung up after 30 minutes on hold. Disputed the charge through Capital One. We will see how that works out.
Great location and the staff is awesome. Cabana Bay is only minutes away from Universal/Islands of Adventure. They have 2 large pools with 1 that has a lazy river and another with a slide. Since this is their "value" resort you do get in the the park 1 hour early, but only to Harry Potter. Early leave for the bus is at 7:00 a. M. The food court is very spacious with screens showing old TV clips. The whole hotel has a fun and retro feel to it. There is a work out facility and even a bowling alley inside. There is a $12 a day resort fee if you have a car and unless you do valet for an additional fee, you may have to part and food some walking to your actual building. Pros: Location Feel Staff In room safe (no key, but 4 digit combo) Pools Bowling alley Gift shop is very nice Cons: There is a $12.00 per car per day fee Hotel is long Cost of food.
Very cool vibe here with awesome rooms, pools and amenities. They have excellent service and wonderful employees manning most posts. That said, dining options arent great and we had slow service at Galaxy Bowl. Also, our next door guests clearly were smoking up the joint which wasn't all that pleasant. Otherwise it was awesome.
I loved this place! Rooms were nice, the hotel as a whole was very clean. My family and I loved the food from the cafeteria. We had stayed at a Disney resort last year, so in comparison the food at Cabana Bay was so much better, and I'm a food snob. At some point in my trip I had to switch rooms (due to my father's health) and while switching I accidentally left an item behind. Although it was never was found the staff refunded me the money of the item that was lost. The genuinely seemed to care, and was very professional. Also the shuttle buses that go to universal came rather quickly. We spent most of our time at the park, but would def come back just to stay and enjoy the resort. They always had so much to do. I hope to return very soon.
Excellent place. Consider 10 to 15 parks. Take advantage of the access early Harry area. In the rooms there are microwave and refrigerator so they can go to the Walmart in a Uber.
The overall theme of the hotel is very nice and fits very well in Universal Orlando. There are many fun activities in the hotel (like bowling) which make you want to stay and explore all it has to offer. Customer service was very good and up to par and sometimes surpasses those of their competitors. Our room was also nicely furnished I like the bright pop style they used here. Overall I definitely enjoyed my stay and would definitely considering staying again whenever making a trip to Universal Orlando.
I love the 1950's style that this resort rocks! The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the variety of fun things that this resort offers is excellent.
The hotel is new, comfortable rooms, pool area is very large, free Wifi in lobby, restaurant and swimming pool. The food is varied, 5 minutes from the parks of Universal, Premiun Outlet Internacional. Recommend this service is very good.
The main room with the huge Christmas tree was amazing when we first arrived. I'm surprised at how expansive the dining rooms are. The Starbucks, main dining room, and bowling alley all had good food. Super good for kids, always something to do. Pool is huge and very nice. The room is low key, but nice. Had a two bedroom with a pullout for the kids. The weather is wonderful in Miami so far, and the resort is not too far away from Disney. Also love the park opening early for people staying on property. Would recommend.
I loved this hotel:
● food is delicious
● bedroom or I can imagine
● the pools are re fun to go with children especially the aquatic playground, the water slide and the labyrinth of water for adults is very relaxing!
CAN NOT STOP GOING TO THAT HOTEL!
I went to Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort for a week I had the best time of my life the food is great they have water slides, lazy rivers, pools and even hot tubs but if you want a heat strok go ahead because if its like 80 degrees every day so just go in the nice lazy river If your new to Universal's when you go out to eat make a left out of universal's not a right turn becuse if you make a right turn take my word you have to git on the highway and take the highway really don't trust your navigation system inless its inbeded inside your car so this is the best hotel i've ever been to.
The GOOD: LOVE the retro vibe. Good value. Great for kids. Lots of towels at pool. Lazy river (you have to buy your tube. $8-15) and there is a water slide. Pool entertainment for kids. Pool area stayed clean even with the tourists aka the pigs who were too lazy to pick up their own towels and garbage (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND REALLY?! ). Room was cleaned timely once we left (so yes. They DO USE THE CAMERAS outside). We had a family suite. It was adequate. There's a divider to the sofa sleeper, tv, chair, kitchen area. Bed was comfy. Do was the pillow. Only disliked how the air BLASTED at your head. I ended up with a chest cold uri. Make sure you direct or close of some of the wall vents to avoid that. Our TV would turn on by itself on every night or the closet light would turn on in the middle of the night (super WEIRD). Staff was always friendly. Also, there is a Starbucks for the coffee addict. Nice gym, arcade, and bowling alley too. Awesome drinks at Swizzle bar ($$$). Note: water slide pool is louder while the lazy river pool area is more chill. Choose based on your mood or tolerance. The IFFY: Terrible food except for the pizza (so take a cab elsewhere to eat or go shopping). Shuttle buses were over crowded, long lines, and hot. The bus drivers don't care if you boil in the back or care if they brake hard. As if it was on purpose. (They are run by Universal so it's not Cabana Bays fault although there should be a rep you can complain to).
Fun new hotel. Very clean and great pool areas for family. Suites are big and I love the kitchenette. My only complaint is the thin walls. I hear my neighbors conversations so you better hope you have quiet people next door.
The 5 of February 12 of this year m stay at universal's cabana bay my experience was bittersweet first dire q the facilities are very nice, but there are flaws in the q at the service of cleaning and security concerns, in the advertising it says q is fluent in English and Spanish and it is not so the waitresses especially the anglo-saxon are very groceras and do not speak any Spanish latinas in exchange, they are friendly and if you speak English and Spanish for 7 days only 3 we changed the sheets and this made the waitress Latin the other days did not change sheets or cleaned properly the suites, these also carecian of several things in my opinion, finally I'll finish by saying that in my particular case it was the victim of theft of personal items such as merchandise q buy there in orlando. I am Latin and I do not wish to speak ill of the people q no what it is but unfortunately that was the experience q I have of my stay.
Excellent hotel. Very comfortable rooms and without any problems.
The hotel isn't bad. You get what you pay for! The rooms were very nice and colorful, super kid friendly! :) The shuttle was awesome to take to city walk (especially if you were drinking! ), and the walk to the park on the designated path was beautiful. Although there are several different pools, we didn't get to really use them. The resort had them closed because of "cold weather". 52 degrees isn't that cold, especially for HEATED pools. We had to go to the front desk and complain profusely to get any sort of comp for not being able to use the pools at a BEACH resort. Overall, the resort was nice, but they definitely need to work more on having better customer service.
I have stayed at Cabana Bay twice now and both experiences were great. It's new, clean, and with plenty of onsite entertainment. The decor gives it a retro feel and it is very detail-oriented. There's an onsite bowling alley, huge pools, a water slide and lazy river, and a restaurant/bar. The shuttle service is awesome if you're looking to go to City Walk; it comes every 15-30mins and runs all night until either 1am or 2am. If you live in Florida, they offer a Florida resident discount which is always a plus. Great hotel with a reasonable price if you're looking to hit the town in Downtown Orlando.
I'm a nanny and I went with my employer back in November for the One Direction Concert for the today show. The employees were so helpful and polite. Upon arrival the lady at the front desk had upgraded our room to a suite. The suite came had a kitchenette and a divider between the sitting room and sleeping area. The room was cleaned every time we came back from City Walk. We had clean towels and clean sheets upon each return. The night we got there they were holding a pool party for all guest that were there for One Direction, even with the crazy amount of people that were there, the pool area still remained clean. It was within walking distance of Universal Studios, which is where the concert was being held. When we were leaving we stopped in the cafe to get some food, although food was a little pricey as expected, the food was very good. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel to anyone who asked about it. I look forward to going to Orlando and staying there again. :) Very satisfied 18 yr old Nanny! :).
Very good. But failure handling slightly more than with other languages. But does not take away the very good thing that is.
I travel often for business staying at numerous hotels; Cabana Bay Beach Resort surpassed the best of four star hotels, and Disney resorts I've visited. Cabana Bay does not resemble a moderate or budget hotel. I felt as if I were staying at a mid-luxury hotel. Staff overall was wonderful (Joanne at The Swivel Lounge is outstanding) The amenities and room were comfortable. I look forward to visiting again.
Excellent hotel, good service, excellent location.
Loved the theme, and the room was good too. The Cabana Bay is an on-site hotel, themed with 1950s and 60s retro-modern decor. The room was good quality at a low price for a Universal-owned resort that allowed us early admission to Diagon Alley (a serious perk). We had two living spaces, one with a couch and little kitchen, and the other with the beds. The beds were plenty comfy, and the room was quiet. The little touches were what made it. The toiletries in the hotel room featured Zest soap and Alberto V05 shampoo, which made my wife and I (who are, um, over 40) smile. The cafeteria was actually pretty good (much better than what we experienced at our stay in Disney World), and featured a ginormous television showing small clips of vintage 50's and 60's television commercials. Excellent fun to watch while we waited for our son to finish eating. All in all, highly recommended. My wife and family are already talking about going back.
Room was dirty. The maids did a horrible job cleaning. Left dirty sheets on the ground so I had to throw them outside the room. When I first arrived I had dirty sheets, and when I called for new ones they brought me pillow cases in stead of sheets and blankets. I called the desk 3 times to get it resolved. People were not friendly at all. Pretty miserable experience. I came from a Disney resort the days prior, and it wasnt even close. I wouldnt stay here again.
Loved it! Our couple friends and my husband and I decided to share a room. We were upgraded to a suite, which worked out perfectly because you can close the divider between the living room area and the bedroom, and we had separate areas to get ready in. I loved having three separate bathroom spaces: a shower/tub with sink, just the sink vanity area, and a separate toilet stall. The four of us didn't have a single issue with getting ready in the morning. The bed and pillow was super comfortable — this is coming from someone who can never sleep in hotels. Our room was facing the pool, which had a DJ playing music all day long, and surprisingly, we couldn't hear the music inside the room. The best perk of staying at the hotel is the shuttle to/from Universal. There was always a shuttle at the hotel and at pick-up from Universal. There is also a real Starbuck's inside the hotel (not a fake coffee shop that sells Starbuck's coffee). I wish we had more time at the hotel because it is really awesome.
I actually quite liked the resort itself. It was fun, vibrant, and an excellent value for the money. I will most definitely stay there again. The Cabana Bay Beach Resort is listed as a moderate or value hotel option. It is much better than that. I've stayed at Disney moderate hotels for nearly three times the price and they weren't as enjoyable as Cabana Bay. So why just four stars? Two reasons. 1. Bayliner Diner The seating area was always dirty. No matter what time of day we went in there, we had to search around to try and find a table that didn't have food residue and/or garbage on it. Since half of the area was roped off so you couldn't use it, it was even more of a nuisance to hunt down the rare clean table. The cashiers need to learn a thing or two about priorities, too. One cashier needed change and came over to another cashier to get it. There were three parties in line waiting while the cashiers exchanged the money and then chatted for a few minutes. That should be done on their own time, not when they have people waiting as their food gets cold. 2. Information I never received an email of my original reservation when I made it online. I made a second one and got an email for that. I called and asked for my confirmation number and was assured a new reservation email would be sent, but it wasn't. It ended up not mattering because I had to cancel the first reservation, but the problem with getting information continues. I have yet to receive my folio.
We had a great pool view. Loved the room. The shuttle was fast, clean, and safe. The hotel and surroundings are so clean. I got a Great deal for Florida residents. Will return if visiting Universal Studios.
The hotel is great. Very good food of very high standard and the swimming pools (pools) are very good about universal and free ride to the Park. Excellent for all ages.

The best part about this hotel is the easy access to Universal Parks. A close second is the friendly staff. The lady that checked us in Christa was so friendly. Also a huge shout out to Jordan in the dinner. He was great when we had an small issue and watching him train other team members in such a positive manner was great leadership to watch.
