We stayed here for my best friends wedding three months ago. I left behind a personal item that was about $100. I have called and talked to the head of house keeping 5 different times trying to get it sent back to me. I’ve even given my debit card info in order to pay for it to come to me. It was confirmed they they indeed had it but now I’m getting the run around as if someone took it home. I’ve even left a message a week ago for the manager of the hotel and still no response. I personally will never stay here again just because of this. I have two friends who were looking at getting married here in 2020 and I’ve advised them against it because if they leave something behind they will never see it again. So now they are booking at other hotels in Florida.

The hotel was very nice. The only thing is the parking really sucks they have top parking small and the garage below is just about the same size its even worse if they have multiple weddings going on which is frequently. The bath products (bath and body works stress relief) are great. The bathroom is gross the pipes are like connected or something because it always smells like poop and if you leave the bathroom door open the whole room will smell like poop its a mood killer coming in from dinner and getting smacked in the face with a horrible poop smell! Cleaning service does a really good job. Bongos restaraunt was pretty cool but our waiter was weird almost as if he were stoned. The beach shower was right next to our table … very awkward, the live music was great couldnt see him though. The pool was very nice and refreshing the hotel even gives out towels for the pool and beach. We could see the ocean, the weedings, and fireworks from our hotel balcony. Spinners restaraunt was really cool almost like you have vertigo the older waitresses are kind of snoody.

Me and my husband just got married here last Friday and let me tell ya it was the BEST decision we made. Everything was so beautiful! The rooms were big enough for us to get ready in and had a GREAT view! Our wedding coordinator Tatyana was AMAZING! The food was so delicious! so many people came up to me and told me this was the best wedding they have ever been to. It was truly perfect! WE LOVE GRAND PLAZA!

This was an excellent stay. The pillows & bed were comfortable. You have got to eat at Spinner's Restaurant. The view is spectacular. You rotate all the way around. The beach was awesome with an outside bar & grill. Which was awesome with live music which was also great. The staff was very excellent. A must place to stay.

The parking situation here is terrible. Came here to eat at Bongo's, their beachfront bar/restaurant. They have a parking attendant now and we asked him if we could stay at the beach after we ate. He told us we could bring towels but not anything else, which was fine for us. We parked and when we were getting our towels out of the car, another parking attendant asked us why we were bringing towels with us as they weren't allowed. I don't understand why on a Monday afternoon, a paying customer can't sit on the beach for an hour or two after eating at your restaurant! Terrible customer service. There's no reason to even eat at Bongos if you don't let people stay on the beach. I've stayed at the Grand Plaza many times on vacations but now that I live here, I'll never return unless they change that rule.

I just had my wedding here, and it did turn out to be amazing, not one thing went wrong! I loved it, however they changed wedding planners on me twice, which was very nerve racking, but I ended up with Kate and she was the best, I highly recommend her! Nicest lady with a sense of humor, but was all business. Another thing I didnt like was how you could not bring any outside food into the hotel, such as a cookie or candy table for your guests, or food while the girls are getting ready instead of ordering room service. DO NOT think you are going to get anything special for having your wedding there. There is no free wedding night or honeymoon suite to get. There is no discount on your room. You strictly get your wedding and that's it. For the rooms, I really didn't care for. They were very small. I had a direct gulf view that was great but everything is very tight and no where to put your luggage. Bathrooms are very small. Housekeeping was very rude, I had a few guys say some things to me as I walked by. Very unprofessional and creepy. All other staff was very friendly. Oh and the elevators took forever! They were terrible! I ran a lot of steps.

I wish I could have commented on the facilities/rooms, but we didn't make it past the lobby due to the front desk service we received. This was the worst hotel front desk experience I have ever encountered. We made the reservation and received email confirmation. The lady at the front desk stated that she had not received the confirmation and recommended we wait for a few minutes. We inquired about the other rooms that were available — she stated that there was only one available, which was a handicap room on the 2nd floor. We asked if there was a view, she said no. My companion asked why the handicap room didn't have a view, adding that they would enjoy a nice view from their room too. Her response, "well, I guess because they may try to jump out or something. " We waited about 15 minutes before telling her we wanted to book the handicap room since they claimed the reservation still wasn't showing up, but she adamantly expressed that there was no need to book another room because we may be ultimately charged for both. We told her that we were willing to take that chance just to have a room there, when she then announced that the handicap room was no longer available. She added that the hotel was overbooked and that our confirmed room was not available either. The situation was very suspect. One minute there were two rooms available, one of which I received an email confirmation for. Then when we decide to book the other room, suddenly NEITHER room is available.

Went to Level 11 for drinks and appetizers and to watch the sunset. At that time of day it is very difficult to find seating since it is open seating. We waited a while before we could sit down but once we did, we were able to appreciate the cozy atmosphere with heaters and comfortable couches. The drinks were good as was the fried goat cheese. The view was probably the best part of our visit. Would definitely return.

The first room smelled comic and then the next room was dirty and cockroach. Horrible experience. The bongos bar was super chevere that we served was well nice.

Awesome location! I loved the restaurant Spinners and how the room revolved to see the breathtaking view of the Gulf. Their brand new lounge, level 11 reminded me of something you would find on South Beach in Miami, but the view from the 11th penthouse floor was spectacular. Food was very good as well as the service. Very friendly!

Rooms were very well kept. Every member of the staff was very friendly. Even the guy sweeping leaves talked to my girlfriend and I. Food at all locations was delicious. Would definitely stay here again!

Beach is fantastic, love coming to St. Petersburg. Hotel rooms were clean, spacious and as luxurious as expected. Balcony with a decent view of the ocean. Other rooms have much better views but not a big deal when it takes me two minutes to walk out onto the beach. Room service was timely and the breakfast was quite good. The outdoor bar/restaurant, Bongo's, is very relaxing, with great drinks. Spinners restaurant is a cool concept with good food, but the staff was rushed and impatient. Overall great experience. First time at the Grand Plaza and would recommend it, but I'm sure you really can't go wrong as far as your accommodations go when you're at St. Pete's Beach.

I had a wonderful evening dinner at the grand plaza. The restaurant is beautiful, and it is so wonderful to spin and get a 360° view as you eat. Unfortunately, although it was a Monday evening in January, the restaurant was packed. We had to sit in the bar area where the tables are much smaller and the chairs aren't so comfy. Make sure to call in reservations! Dinner was delicious — I had the plaza steak. The food took a little long to get to the table, but they have to cart everything up the elevator. It also allowed time to just appreciate the sights, so it wasn't an issue.

The room has a great view of the beach. We were on the 9th floor. No smokey smell anywhere inside, which is great! The food at Bongos was really tasty and it's right on the beach. You can eat and drink with your toes in the sand. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We were offered full room turnover, but only needed trash pick up and towels. The floors are all tile. The mattresses are firm. There is a king and queen size bed in this room along with a microwave and mini fridge. A hair dryer and coffee pot are provided. Plenty of accessible power outlets. The little balcony is nice to sit out on and relax.

I recently got married at the Grand Plaza Beachfront Resort on St. Pete Beach, FL and Amy Hinman, and then later Tori Elkington, are the catering sales managers that we had the privilege of working with for planning our ceremony and reception. Both Amy and Tori were nothing short of outstanding — — they were both very professional and prompt to reply during the entire planning phase, which, when planning a wedding, is quite elaborate with many fine details. They were very organized, knowledgeable, and good listeners when it came to ironing out ceremony and reception details. The Grand Plaza also has some really amazing vendors on their preferred vendors list — — I used Joe Lorenzo at Expert Productions, Neil Patel at Neil Shannon Photography, Bonnie Schaefer at Cakes by Carolynn, Heather Bay at Rose Garden Flowers & Gifts, and Michele Renee The Studio. I consider all of the vendors used to be the best in the wedding industry! They are all extremely professional, fun, and well-priced for their exceptional services! The Grand Plaza is definitely worth their price tag. I got married in the Presidential Ballroom and it was absolutely breath-taking. Thank you to Amy, Tori, and Gloria (manager) for making our special day so memorable!

Look for bedbugs before accepting your room Spinners is fantastic Great view from anywhere in the hotel Level 11 seems pretty cool Security is a joke so if you're hosting an event (wedding) expect security to stand back and watch if something goes awry. They're all bark and no bite. I will probably return.

Arriving to the hotel was pleasant and the front desk clerks were very nice. The hotel rooms (we had adjoining rooms) were also very nice looking when we FIRST arrived. Thats about all that was pleasant about our stay. Our First morning we were woken up to loud hammering and sounds of drilling! we called the front desk, who informed us that "we shouldn't be able to hear anything" because they were installing a new flooring in the penthouse, but it was on the opposite side of our room? Then one of our bathrooms we noticed kept filling up with marijuana smoke and we had to keep the door shut to avoid getting high while with our toddlers in the room. Again called the front desk and they said "they would check to see who is above us" THEN the water was completely shut off from about 10am til…? Not even sure what time because we ended up leaving and driving home. We had NO WAY to flush the toilet, brush our teeth, anything. I know that was not this hotels fault, but they could have tried to make our accomidations a little easier by maybe offering free bottles of water? anything! We had to constantly call the office to have them bring buckets of water up so we could 'flush' the toilet. The maintenance men who brought the buckets were rude and told us to have as many people as possible use the toilet before we 'flush' it, which then caused our toilet to overflow. So disgusting, and unsanitary.

This place maybe beutyfull only as pictured! On November 1st wedding we had the worst service from the staff. Management for that wedding very very rude. Food that we ordered it was uncooked! No water on table! No coffee on table but we all have to go in corner to make our own coffee! No plate for serving sweet pie, we had to eat 12 people from one plate like we were in 1800s. This post is for anyone who decided to do wedding at this place. Better to rent the hall and you will be more than happy.

Very nice hotel. Charm of the 50s. Beautiful beach and great bar.

The hotel is very well located just above the beach and has excellent views. The building is a little old but well maintained. There is a pool, does not offer Beach service, the beach chairs and cabanas are paid separately. The best are the Bongo bar and Spiner restaurant located on the top floor which is rotating. Both offer a fabulous meal at reasonable prices recommended fish and seafood. The only thing we didn't was the breakfast, is not at the height of the restaurants and is paid separately.

Stayed here this weekend 8/28. My husband and I didn't have a hotel booked just came down to St. Pete for a night. We got a great deal on a suite since it was our anniversary which was facing the ocean with two balconies. There was a tiki bar (bongos) downstairs with plenty room for seating. We ordered the cheese plate YUMMY the bruchetta YUMMY and the coconut shrimp YUMMY and at sunset they have a free sunset shooters. At night we went to the rooftop bar (spinners) at the very top of the hotel. It's a 360 rotating restaurant. Although we got there after they closed they had a out door bar on THE ROOFDECK. It has not even done it's grand opening yet, but the bar is AMAZING. That is a must see! We ordered two frozen drinks. My husband ordered a cool cucumber and I ordered a mango passion. Both were delicious but we both agreed the other was better so we switched :) This hotel has everything great to offer. Highly recommended.

St Pete Beach one of the finest cool white sand beaches in area! Room nicely updated and soothing, had views of bay, partial beach and parking garage roof, strange triangle room set up cuts room making it tight around table and bathroom door, takes a little getting used to, but beds are very comfortable. Staff very accommodating. Housekeeping left door to room open all day after service, but everything was found to be in order. Spinners Rooftop Bistro — gorgeous views, 2 of 3 entrees extremely salty. Bongos beach bar very cool.

I just spent a week at the Grand Plaza. It was more than I expected on every level. From the moment we walked through the door, even though we were early, they were very accommodating to help us and make sure our needs were met. Cindy was most helpful. She was very pleasant and informative, even offering up suggestions of the best place in town for pizza. Bunker was also wonderful. Offering to hold our luggage for a few hours instead of us having to take them back to our rental car. The entire staff there was wonderful. The hotel itself was up to date and very inviting. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. And the view we had was absolutely amazing. We were able to upgrade our room for a fee, but it was well worth it. From our balcony we were able to see the bay as well as the Gulf of Mexico, enjoy every sunrise and listen to the live music that was played every day! The colors from every sunset were absolutely breath taking, nothing like being on the beach in the evening. We went to dinner one night at Spinners, the revolving restaurant on the roof. The food, service and views were fantastic. I especially enjoyed that fact that you have access to swim either in a pool or in the Gulf. Having a bar right down stairs was nice to be able to get away and enjoy some grown up time. I would highly recommend the Grand Plaza Hotel to anyone looking for a vacation getaway. Thanks to everyone there for making my stay such a memorable time for me and my family!

We stayed in the double balcony suite, it was beyond what I expected! The shutters on the windows were beautiful, the linens were clean & fluffy. The beds were so comfortable! And amenities… it really shows luxurious class when the hotel has chosen the eucalyptus & lavender stress relief line from bath & body works as your complimentary shampoo, conditioner, bar of soap & lotion. I loved it! The ladies at the desk were more than helpful getting me reservations for my family of 5, for Spinners. We made our reservations at 7:45pm so we were able to watch the sunset, but it was the fabulous customer service that impresses me. The same lady that checked us in, took care of it, I told her I wanted to have dinner there at sunset, she found out what time the sun would be setting, made our reservation for 20 min prior & called me to let me know all I had to do was be there at that time. I was already on the beach! It was the best stay & I WILL be returning very soon!

Very pleasant stay. Beach access. I never did find the beach and pool towels but really did not look hard or ask. Staff was great and very helpful. Defently will be a return stay in the future.

Went for our honeymoon. The king size bed is very comfortable, and had a hideaway murphy bed. Awsome beach view, breakfast buffet is awsome. Room service is great. Overall, will recommend amd would definitely return.

A good atmosphere with good restraunts and a good bar. The rooms are kinda outdated but still nice. Great beach, and close to crabby bills. Elevators are very slow, and hotel beach towels are rough! Would stay here again but may look for another hotel to try out.

My family went here for a wedding. We had a wonderful visit, the hotel was older but very clean. The rooms were very nice, clean and modern. The beach out front is just where you want to be! Every department was very busy with guest and yet everyone was nice, smiled and helpful. When we got home I realized there was a charge on my account that was not mine. I called the hotel and spoke with Melissa (I hope I got that right) who was amazing, nice and get this SHE TOOK CARE OF IT THERE WITH ME ON THE PHONE, a room charge got put on our room by mistake (that is not a big deal at all, we are humans and we can make mistakes, it is how we treat our customers that shows our true customer service) The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is two things: 1. The buffet was not good, food was dried out and felt like it had been frozen at one time, but then again it could have just been an off day for the kitchen. 2. When we asked the staff cleaning up after the wedding if there was a bar on the top floor we could go to, they could not answer any questions about the Hotel property. Here again I do understand if you are an employee that does not usually interact with the guest, questions can catch you off guard, but when your hotel is small you should know the places on your own property since you want your guest to go there and not leave the property.

We stayed at this hotel along with several family members and had our wedding here. The staff, especially our coordinator Tatyana, were absolutely amazing! They did a wonderful job and made sure that everything went smoothly and even made sure that the bride and groom got to eat during the reception. I can't say enough good things! They were very accommodating to our needs and did not nickel and dime us for all the wedding details that other venues do.

I visited the Grand Plaza Hotel back during the first weekend of March. My friend and I found a room on the Hotel Tonight app as we were in town for First Friday and had friends staying next door at the Sirata. I called the Grand Plaza Hotel stating I saw their pricing on the Hotel Tonight app and the woman I spoke with, Deretha, was absolutely helpful and delightful to speak with. At check in she asked if it was just the two of us, after saying yes she informed us we would be staying in the Penthouse at no additional charge. I honestly thought she was just kidding, but as I made my way to our room I came to find out she was completely serious. Besides the fact Deretha "gave us the hook up", she was extremely informative on all of the amenities the hotel had to offer. She let us know that if we needed anything at all to contact the front desk. Deretha is the perfect example of what customer service should be like where ever you go. Because of Deretha I will gladly vacation again at the Grand Plaza Hotel.

I'll start with the good: the staff was friendly and accommodating. At the beginning they gave us a corner room with an ahkward shape, we requested a rectangular shape room instead and they granted our request, that was very nice of them. The corner rooms are okay for a couple without kids. The king sized beds are confortable. Bongos restaurant at the beach is a plus with live music, the food is okay and the prices are reasonable. If it wasn't because I booked late and I pay too much I would have rated 4 stars. The bad: someone else mentioned the fact that the place looks like a handyman do it yourself type of business, and is true. There are a lot of things that could look a lot nicer if the work had been done by professionals. The window shutters are a nice touch but they don't keep the light out. You can't make your room dark during the day and they light from the balcony shines through the window at night. The wall air conditioning units are loud. The mini fridges are loud. They have commercial toilets and they flush loud. The bathrooms are small. The furniture is old and outdated, it is time for a renovation. 2 persons without kids are okay on a corner room. 2 adults with 2 kids are okay on a rectangular room. A family with young kids or a large family definitely needs a suite.

About the only problem with this place is the loud music from rum runners (next door), and the sink and shower don't drain good at all and toilet sometimes didn't flush right. Overall we liked it and would come again.

I give this place a 3 star when comparing finished surfaces quality. It looks like an okay handyman did the renovations. The "corner rooms" (the footprint is oblong) are funkier, and the Murphy bed is a nice touch. California shades are nice, bath is small. I call the place a spruced up grand dame, but it's not feminine. Staff are great, bars are too. It's a bit better than most hotels on the strip with one of the best beach access and amenities. There seems to be weddings here every other day, but that doesn't interfere with other guests. Clean and safe area, not too cheezy as I was expecting. If I came back to this area I would come here again as after looking around it is one of the better hotels on the beach.

We booked the bay/city view room. We were on the 5th floor and could not see the bay due to very large trees that lined the property, however we did have a partial view of the beach. The hotel was under construction, which they failed to mention to us when booking, so there was a huge crane right outside our balcony. It was mid 80's when we were there, yet the air conditioning still could not keep up. We had to keep it on full blast at the lowest setting (60) the whole time, yet we were still uncomfortable. I'm a light sleeper and the walls were pretty thin. You could hear the beach band until 11pm, and every conversation in the hallway. The breakfast buffet and the beach bar and grill food were delicious. I'd visit the restaurants again, but would not book a room.

Came here on Friday for a romantic night with my man. Lets just say the hotel staff is accommodating. The room was 100 plus tax but I had a view waking up looking down the shore line. The spinner revolving rooftop restaurant is to die for. The food is good and its low priced. The beach bar is amazing right on the beach with tropical drinks that are amazing. Only sad thing is no pets : (.

The beach was amazing, the view was great, there was an outdoor bar and pool attached to the hotel that were both really great. The beds were comfortable, the view was okay (of course you can pay for better views). However, with all that said, you are paying for the location, and not for your room. The rooms seemed as average as a pear tree inn (drury). I didn't have a chance to compare prices, I was there for a wedding, but they seemed a little steep for the rooms not wowing me when I walked in. I'd be happy if they dropped their prices, or put a little more effort into the rooms. P. S Also, for at least a day the entire hotel smelled like farts.

Nice people. Great buffet breakfast downstairs (not included) but worth it. Better than IHOP down the street. Very clean and busy. (Not a bad thing).

I and my wife recently stayed a week here and had a blast once we arrived the front desk a formed us that they up graded us to a suite no extra charge we had two balconies the house keeping came every morning and cleaned our room all the staff were very helpful friendly bongos outside beach bar was another place to sit on the beach and relax great food and drinks we will be back for sure thanks guys.

Love, Love, Love this place everyone was so nice went to a few other places before this one and everyone was so rude, as soon as I walked in everyone smiled and so nice they had the cheapest rooms that truned out to be great loved the pull out on the wall, We can't wait to go back.
