Front desk was friendly and courteous. Enjoyed room with water view. Returned from outing to find no housekeeping was done. Trash cans still full, bed unmade and no towels changed. Was told that cleaning is not done daily. 9 pm we had to go get towels and trash liners and ask for an iron. Sheets appeared clean but felt sticky as if there was a residue that hadn’t been rinsed off during wash.

Most definitely one of the Nicest Motel 6 properties I've had the privilege of staying at! Was thrilled to have had a room overlooking the Bay and it was especially nice to have the afternoon fog breezy coolness available just by opening the door! The room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable, especially for Motel 6! Will definitely try to stay here again on future trips to the Bay area… Thanx!

Great for Motel 6! I've been in some shabby motel 6, but this one was really clean (I checked) and they gave me a room with everything I asked for. The door handle stuck a little Everytime you opened it (hurt my wrist a little). Other then that its awesome, stay every time we're down!

Location was close to the freeway and we LOVED the water view. It was so peaceful and nice and quiet. Only 2 negative things… the towels are way too small, (I'm a size women's 8), I had to use 2 towels, and then my husband… well forget it! When I did use the shower around 9am the water was cold turned all the way on hot. Besides that it was a great place and excellent value, nice and clean too. The front desk girl was very sweet. I would definitely return. Well here is an update of this place one year later and wow what a difference! First off we got there shortly after 3, check in time. A man was checking in before me. He said he didn't have reservations. He said I just need a room so I can sleep and he was alone. The girl gave him a single with water view. I was next with a reservation for a single room just like the man and she told me we had to wait an hour because the maid was on a break. I went to the back of the hotel by the water to wait. Meanwhile that man that just wanted to sleep came back with a hooker! Definitely didn't need to sleep. An hour went by and never saw any maids working. Went back to the desk and she said it still wasn't ready. Oh yes, while I was waiting I watched a young girl in room 143 "turning tricks" saw 5 different men go in and out of her room while I was waiting. Ten more minutes went by and I was give a double room but it did have the water view. The room was shockingly dirty feeling, the walls had filth and the floors did too!

We had a room with king bed and water view. The office girls were very friendly and helpful with directions to a few places we wanted to go. The view from the room was incredible although I would add a sheer curtain for privacy. The room was so very clean and smelled fresh. The bed was horrible. I have never woken up so sore in my life.

Room smelled bad. Cigarette smell was bad enough, but even worse was overpowering moldy smell in bathroom. I've stayed in many Motel 6s, but this was the first time I couldn't bring myself to use the shower. And this was the most I've ever paid at any Motel 6, by far. On the plus side, we appreciate dog-friendly accommodations.

I stayed here with a friend this past weekend and our stay was wonderful. The room was stylish and clean and had great amenities such as a microwave, fridge, DirectTV, and they even had a free bag of popcorn in the room. The beds were pretty comfy. The breakfast was good. They had waffles, eggs, biscuits, cereal, etc. We came here for a jazz concert at Thornton Winery and the hotel was only a 10 min drive away. It's right off the freeway exit and there's a gas station just around the corner which is convenient before getting back on the freeway. I will definitely stay here again.

Basically the front desk clerk gave us a room where we opened and found a couple enjoying themselves and was shocked of what a mistake they did so they gave us another room where it smelled like cigarettes so bad we had to buy some air spray to lighten up the smell but it didn't work too good. Every we go we smell like cigarettes but they couldn't give us any other room the fact that of a type room we had reserved. Its a beautiful scenery they had but at night is when it gets bad the fact that there is a lot of foot traffic. There was a party next door and even though they have a noise policy it didn't do anything to stop the party. I would do motel 6 again but I'd think over about this area.

I stayed at this location a few years ago. It was clean and quaint. Quite a surprise with this latest visit. While the rooms were clean, the grounds were dirty with an abundance of litter that never seemed to be picked up. One vending machine was broken and probably had been for a while. The "non-smoking" rooms smelled of smoke. I was told that the city places homeless people at this site, which is why so many of them seemed to be present. Not a safe environment. The staff was very courteous, but could present a more professional appearance. The overall problem seems to be management.

Beautiful view of the Marina but the room smelled like cigarettes. I would stay again-maybe bring my own pillow so my hair won't smell next time.

The room had a nice view of the lake and it was clean. Unfortunately, I had asked for a room with a microwave. I spoke with the front desk the day of my stay to confirm there was a room available with a microwave and that I would be checked into it upon arrival. The room was given to someone else. I at least had a refrigerator to put my perishables in but no way to heat them up unless I went to the 24 hour lobby and use their microwave. I did not tell the front desk as it was NYE and I was kind of in a hurry to get on with my plans. I made the best of my stay and took it as a loss.

There were no blankets available. (Although the heating and cooling system was top notch, one person needed the room cool to sleep and the other one needed extra blankets to sleep). The pillows were very uncomfortable — too hard and one was lumpy. At 8 o’clock in the morning there was no coffee. Neither of us slept very well. But I love the location.

The cost is a little high and the ooms are small.

Good place to sleep except the surveillance there is no security.

The place is quite sterile. That can be good but also with little atmosphere. There was a cadre of police and SWAT the Saturday I woke up. Certainly didn't make for a comfortable feeling. On the room, the table's laminate around the edge was coming off and loose for about 3' hanging down. All else was fine. Reasonable price for the location.

I have been to your motel many times when I visit my son and family in Oakland. What I love the most is your location and the beautiful view. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have often wondered why a few simple amenities such as shampoo, tissues, and a hair dryer could not be provided. Does not seem like these would be expensive additions. Use of a small fridge and microwave is always a plus too for travelers. I realize that you are working toward keeping your rooms in a more affordable price range, but these are things that might make the difference of whether people choose to come back again, and whether they recommend to others.

For the price I think this Motel 6 was good apart from the cleanliness issue. There was a lot of hair on the floor and in the bathroom. The reception staff were very friendly. The microwave in the reception was grubby and it was missing the turntable which wasn't very nice to use. The area that the Motel is in feels very unsafe. When we arrived someone had tried to steal a trailer from one of the vehicles in the carpark and caused some damage & the following day, as we were leaving, there were two women having an extremely loud and angry argument by our car so we had to wait until they left before venturing further. The reception staff didn't seem to know what to do re the car damage.

I do not like much indigent and do not give shampoo!

The room had flying insects in the bathroom. They looked like fruit flies of some sort. They swarmed around the lights all evening. The toilet kept backing up. The bathtub kept backing up. There was only one trash can in the room, so we made a makeshift trash can for the bathroom. There were rats hanging out in the front area near the waterfront ALL evening. I'm not exaggerating by any means. Each time we opened the door to leave and go out, we saw teams of rats scurry past.

No problems at all with our stay — location was great for our needs, staff was exceedingly nice and helpful (thank you, Stephanie). Only "complaint" is the heavy odor of the disinfectant used in cleaning the rooms. Although it does reassure you that the place has been cleaned, it was intense upon entering the room and made breathing difficult (at least for me). Otherwise, a fine place to stay when on a budget.

Checked in and was beginning to get settled. Family found blood splattered on the bathroom wall. Continued to look at take photos. We found some on the bathroom door and bedroom wall as well. Asst. Mgr was great! She apologized and gave us a voucher for another stay. We were moved to a room next door assuming that room would be cleaned. It wasn't. The next day some young men moved in and I gave them a heads up. They looked around and saw the same blood. (Room 135). They got creeped out too. My family was not comfortable after that. Moving hotels was not an option. It's too bad, nice rooms and front desk staff otherwise. Beautiful facility.

Rooms were clean but some power outlets were not functioning. Comfortable queen beds and good lighting in both the bedroom and bathroom areas. No mini fridge, bathroom door would not lock, weak water pressure in the shower and no shampoo/conditioner available.

Except for an abrasive and unwelcoming attitude displayed by front desk agent, everything else with the stay was good. Good and easily accessible location. I will definitely recommend this Property to others!

While in Oakland Movie Theater late after midnight, my vehicle was vandalized, burglarized, and left with two broken windows. I was very concerned about where to park my vehicle until the next morning. The Motel6 Staff let me park my vehicle overnight in front of their Check-in entrance so their staff and security staff can watch my vehicle and guarantee the safety of my vandalized vehicle with two broken windows. Although I did not get much sleep that night, I did greatly appreciate their help, concern, and protection of my broken vehicle. The Staff was very friendly and did not hesitate to help me during a very vulnerable moment for me. Thank you very much. I will always use Motel6 Embarcadero when I visit my daughter in Oakland.

Stayed for 3 nights at motel 6 room 233 waterfront view was breath taking! I loved the location close enough to Berkeley & San Francisco! Room was super clean! People very helpful and friendly! Completely happy with our stay here! Would highly recommended this motel! To think I was considering to stay and pay a lot more at a hotel. So glad I chose this motel 6 in Oakland embarcadero would definitely come back to stay here!

For a Motel 6, this location is a bit costly. Location, location is the reason. It faces the Oakland Estuary across from Alameda and is pretty nice on the eyes. It is a very busy place and you want a room on the back side facing the water, not the front side facing the parking lot.

I like Motel 6, clean, simple, good location, great value, and great service, but this location has all that AND a wonderful view! Second story of the back rooms and I am looking out on the boats in the marina not 100 feet away. If I had known I would have brought a bottle of wine, kicked back and enjoyed the view.

I have stayed at Motel 6 locations all around the country, mostly for the hassle free pet policy. Without a doubt, this was by far the worst Motel 6 I have ever experienced. They charged me twice for the same stay (it has been nearly a week and they still haven't gotten around to issuing a refund — I got a call the morning after I checked in, while I was still at the motel, saying they had charged my card because I never checked in. ). There was no Wi-Fi despite giant signs advertising their fast Wi-Fi. When I arrived back at the room the second evening, the power was out (not to any of the surrounding buildings) and took nearly an hour to come back on. Also, as others have noted, the hotel sits on the interstate, and their is a very bad neighborhood just over the highway (I found online posts advising which colors to avoid wearing to avoid getting attacked by rival gangs). This place is a just a disaster.

It is a motel 6. So, you should know what you are getting into. That being said, this location is better than average and has an excellent view of the waterfront. The parking lot is large but unsecured. Nearby amenities include a marijuana dispensary on the next block and a Starbucks a few blocks down.

Room quality was decent and it was right next to the Marina if you like that kind of thing but the AC was busted and the nice looking TV didn't work. Bad but it could be worse. This is the best Motel 6 I've ever seen and I've seen a few.

It's like a vacation in Florida but with downtown Oakland in the distance, beyond the fishing boats and seagulls. Clean, quite and a great view — we think this is the best deal in the entire Bay Area for a place to stay right ear San Francisco.

The motel has been upgraded and was very nice and clean. I always enjoy this one because it is by the waterfront which is great. I did have an issue at check-in which the counter staff made a sincere effort to resolve. It was my first time making a special request and I was just a little disappointed that it took 3 hours to resolve. In the end it was resolved and everything worked out.

The view from my room balcony overlooking the Bay is awsome, the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, hot shower, good spot to sleep. I would have had a better morning if there wasn't as much noise throughout the night though.

Really couldn't ask for more for the price in this area. Set alongside the water of an inlet to the Bay. Very quiet with sailboats cruising by on the water. Front desk was very quick, friendly, and were nice enough to put me on a water view room. There are some quaint restaurants very near by that they can point you in the direction of. Imagine some of them close reasonably early though. The most relaxing and safe Motel 6 I have ever stayed at so far and I've been at a bunch of them.

Well, first night went ok. 2nd not so much. Paid for 2 people. 1st They forgot to give me the 2nd key. 2nd find out Wifi is 3$ per item. Paid for 2 yesterday. Again for one today, but they can't give a complimentary code for once? for me being here as many times I have. A little weird. Nothing spectacular happens here. No magic. Threatened to be evicted from room if I pay for one person instead of 2 people (9$ more) if I'm caught with another person in the room after 10… Wtf Very basic place. Hot tub is only open til 7? So It's mainly just for show 3rd, I called once to ask about if my USB charger plug was left in my first room, and I wanted to know if my adapter had been found or if the room was occupied yet and the operator hung up on me after telling me the room was occupied saying "ok bye! " while I was asking if I should call the next day when they're back. Wtf? I wasn't going to write a review. But now it's been earned. Not happy paying 110 for this 80$ experience. This place has the basics and for Oakland may be considered 3 or 3.5 stars but it's a 2 for me. Place has one cute female unarmed guard when it needs 2 military trained 6ft tall guards at night. This is Oakland.

My husband I have stayed here numerous times. However, the last time he stayed here, (Oct 27 — 30, 15, Rm 238), he left his wedding ring in the room, and he KNOWS he did. I called about 3 hours after he left the room and no ring, they never found it. I called numerous times. Left my number for the manager to call me as well, and he/she never called either. I believe there is some dishonesty going on here. So there you go, good room, good prices but… I don't believe we will stay here again and will tell everyone of our experience.

Great place to be, amazing staff and even more amazing view of you are lucky enough to get ocean view. Been here for four months and I have complaints other then other guests staying above with no consideration. "Other people's children", that's what I call it. Can't expect every parent to raise kids with the right kind of respect and consideration for others. Regardless, a great relaxing motel 6 with a ten star view and staff.

Went to visit with my daughter in Oakland. Was really scared about the area per my daughter. When we got to hotel the staff was extremely helpful and nice. We needed extra towels not a problem. We had this beautiful view of the lake area. Right outside my door and window. Rooms are large. We had 4 grown adults in the 1 room. We had my daughter, son in law, and my 2 grandchildren over playing cards. Still was plenty of room. The sink wasn't draining properly but didn't even have to report it they had it fixed when we got back to hotel. Highly recommend.

Where to start. It's touted as the cheapest hotel in the area. If you want Wi-Fi though, it's an extra $3 a day, more if you want a fridge and microwave, all amenities that most hotels offer as complimentary. Don't expect to be able to use the internet though, as the Wi-Fi is completely unusable. I switched rooms 3 times during my 12 night stay due to the disgusting state of the rooms or the airconditioners being broken and extremely loud, waking me up. The room service hardly cleaned the rooms, putting blankets on both beds in my room that were disgusting and stained from previous tenants. Staff is inconsiderate and unwilling to help. I left an item in one of the rooms, and when asked to check the lost and found a few times, they all checked different areas for hardly a second. Homeless people and stray animals are constantly in the parking lot. I advise you to pay the extra few dollars and stay at a different hotel.

Yup pretty cool if you just by yourself not necessarily for a romantic evening. But clean decent enough to get some sleep. It use to be 35 now 50 plus you share restrooms with other tenant's.

Clean and quiet, excellent bed, plenty of hot water. TV, Microwave and little fridge, would have liked a coffee pot. Absolutely no amenities but we were spending plenty on vacation stuff, just in the motel to sleep. Good way to save money.

We spent 5 days here. We chose this motel because it was close to San Francisco but didn't have the awful price tag that motels in the city did! It was clean. We were surprised that it didn't have a coffee machine but there was a Starbucks quite close so that was okay. There was a very nice restaurant, The Lighthouse, very close as well. The people in the office were exceptionally nice and helpful with directions. The whole motel is very nice and the grounds are very neat and clean. It was lovely seeing all the beautiful yachts and boats in the harbor out back of the motel. My granddaughter had the Wi-Fi and didn't have any problems with it at all. The security was an added plus and we felt quite safe and secure. There was an annoying yipping dog very close to our room that kept us up until the wee hours but that is to be expected in a motel that is pet friendly. Just couldn't image how the owners could sleep with all that barking! Anyway, all in all, we would definitely stay here again! It is an easy on and off the freeway to the Bay Bridge. I am not very good with directions so this was a plus for me! It was nice knowing that every evening that we left San Francisco we would soon be home to our room, away from all the hustle and bustle! I would rename this motel the Oasis of Oakland because that is how we saw it! Job well done Motel 6. Plus, I must add how much I enjoyed visiting with the lady who worked the office (day shift) August 21st! She made my day. Or evening!

I havent had a chance to stay here since they remodeled. But I love this place because of it being right on the water. Its so peaceful to sit on the tables and benches behind the hotel on the water. Price is pretty high for a m6 but thats because its jack london square.

I went to this motel and stayed here for two nights. When I was at the office paying for two nights, after I did that, I caught one of the workers smoking. I wouldn't want to stay at a motel where one of the workers were a smoking addict. Despite the smoking problem, when we went to the room, I was connecting to the Internet. My mom already paid for the Internet, but I connected my 3DS XL and 2DS to this connection with the SSID of Cisco69621. It was free, and surprisingly, it was fast with no lag. That was a good deal. Also, the T. V. Was on when we went into the room. My mom had to call the front office for the remote. There was no refrigerator or microwave. Despite these problems, I would recommend staying here.
